1121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Waves getting ready for a jump? on: June 16, 2017, 08:35:06 AM
If waves have jumped im glad I have some now and like you I also think that waves is getting ready for jump it might happen a week from now, maybe sooner or later but it might happen before the mid of July. Seeing the order books history in some exchanges it is clearly seen that someone has been accumulating waves so im expecting that good times will start soon.
1122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH sell now then re-buy later? on: June 16, 2017, 07:04:35 AM
Thank you everyone for the replies!

After posting this, the next morning (6/15/2017) ETH dropped at one point to $251 USD. But I did not sell any. Seeing how it recovered nicely (338.56 USD at the time of this posting) I think I will wait until it gets back to the $375-390 USD as that seems to be the current resistance level.

I currently have 6.8633 ETH coins. I believe it will reach the ~$370 price again tomorrow (hopefully). At that point I will sell 3 ETH coins to keep in my coinbase wallet, roughly half, and gain back $1,110 of my initial $2,000 buy in.

BTW, earlier this week I purchased the lenovo Y710 cube gaming PC with the AMD RX 480 8GB graphics card so I can start mining ETH coins. Based on rate for this graphics card, I should (in theory) be able to mine .5 ETH each month.

But I am curious, did anyone sell today (6/15/17)?

Good luck to all!
I have sold at ~$370 price before it dropped to $251 and im happy I made the right decision. For now I won't rebuy and I will wait for lower prices to rebuy. It was a nice move that you bought a gaming pc to mine ETH but you might also like to mine other altcoins with potential to grow. That way you will profit more, It is just up to you to choose the coin you will mine and believe in though but still eth mining would be nice if the price range we have now would not go lower.
1123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coins to buy before they hit the exchanges? on: June 16, 2017, 05:42:09 AM
Right now there are many potentially good coins to buy but one already hit an exchange that is not so big yet. The coin im referring to here is Encryptotel that uses both waves and eth technology and can be sent from eth or waves. You can buy it from waves dex or tidex. Exscudo seems to have a lot of potential too but be on lookout, there are many more out there to invest in.  Cool
1124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: YoBit legit? on: June 16, 2017, 02:55:14 AM
I have used yobit in the past and all I can say is that yobit is legit, it can be a good platform in trading too, it is very easy to use at least before 2016 and after July 2016 I have never visited their site again since I stopped trading in their platform. Their site is somewhat unreliable when you want to buy some altcoins because many wallets are in maintenance, or with an outdated version so don't buy there if you will not hold the particular coin there.
1125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It isn't a bubble on: June 16, 2017, 02:00:53 AM
For me I follow many coins but I won't mention it here because it is too many to list. Even though many shitcoins from 2014 are gone, still there are many new shitcoins from 2017 that might be gone 2 to three years from now. Like the one who posted before me, I think bitcoin still has a bubble that could not burst yet because of strong buy support but it will burst sooner or later on.
1126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum SCAM? on: June 16, 2017, 12:53:03 AM
i think there are still many people investing in etherum, etherum is one of the very best projects, many Token coin have succesfully with crowdsale based ethereum and if ethereum scam how about all token based on ETH.?
Thats a fact that for now, many people are investing into ethereum because of many ICO's that are based on ethereum, the erc20 tokens, and also many just want to ride the pump of ethereum but I guess I would not call it a scam but I will say that the price is manipulated. Im sure if those companies behind those ICO's successful decides to sell their gathered eth in their crowfund sale, then eth will go back to the price it is supposed to have now.
1127  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this theoretically possible? on: June 15, 2017, 10:04:28 AM
Say a group of rich investors got together and intending to buy huge amounts of bitcoin with the intention to one day crash the market. Say they told other investors of their plan deception and they bought into the idea. They done this for a while making the price of bitcoin soar. If they all collectively cashed in on their bitcoins and told people/ warned people and fooled them into doing the same via news articles, websites and other forms of mainstream exposure. Could they theoretically cause enough of a collapse to then buy the bitcoins back at a low price and wait for it to boom again makinf a huge profit or am I totally missing the point?
Theoretically it is very possible that a group of investors will get together to manipulate bitcoin price. Maybe they have done it before but the public does not know about it. They can also cause enough dump for them to rebuy cheaper to wait for price to boom again. A good example for this is the price movements before and after mt. Gox's fall because it is very possible that the owner of mt. Gox that time is involved in price manipulation of a group of whales.
1128  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where to invest my 20 BTC (lifesavings) on: June 15, 2017, 08:47:51 AM
20 BTC is a lot and for noe you got a huge sum of profit why not sell it for fiat then rebuy again before 2020 halving? That way you can take profit just wait for a good price to buy 20 btc again I'm sure that the price ranges we see now is not the floor. If you want you can just hold it for but selling it now then rebuying later at a cheaper price is better.
1129  Economy / Speculation / Re: How Does Bitcoin Gain/Lose Value? on: June 15, 2017, 07:42:38 AM
How does BTC gain or lose value? And how does BTC 'pop', like lose 500 USD worth over a day?
If there is a major sell of and if there is no one willing to purchase the coin then it will drop like we saw today after hearing the news about bitmain's plan on how to fork bitcoin and what path they are going to take and if there is uncertainty on what the future holds people will sell off their coins which is quite natural and with bitcoin and alt coin known to have big volatility expect these sort of things. Smiley

but how do you explain ethereum price drop ? if they are not related..
Even if they are not related ethereum price drop is also caused by supply and demand. Like bitcoin, the buying and selling of ETH is also the cause of it's price pump or drop. The news sometimes helps in price movements since most base their buying and selling activities on the news to gain profit and also some major updates help gain demand if it is good.
1130  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can bitcoin hit 3500$ in 2018?  ??? on: June 15, 2017, 05:59:35 AM
There is still the possibility of bitcoin hitting 3500$ price by 2018 because it is still 1 year from now. There is also a possibility of the said price being reached by the end of this year if the consensus that will be made to solve the scaling debate is good and is the real solution to the problem. With that in mind, if the consensus is not the real solution to the slow confirmation times that we have now and if it will just cause more problems to bitcoin, then I think the possibility of bitcoin reaching the speculated price within 2018 will be less than before.
1131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH/btc My 2 cents ? on: June 15, 2017, 04:44:56 AM
All this money pouring in ETH comes from those ICO's recently that have succeed and also the upcoming ICO's we have right now which are commonly erc20 tokens. They raised a huge amount of funds in terms of ETH and I think that is what's causing the ETH pump right now. Also, there might be manipulation by Chinese but sooner or later ETH will go back to it's real value.

Ya I mean holy shit. $400 an eth? For what? Byteball does smart contracts. So does counterparty. So does ... so many alts. Why do people think these tokens are going to do well? If eth fails then these tokens will just be useless right? Or am I totally not understanding how they work? They rely on eth right?
Most of the investors don't think that these tokens are going to do well, They just think that it's price will rise in the future just because it is still in ICO phase, being in ICO phase it still has room to go up and price, and every ICO has new concept presented for investors in their ann thread that might attract more investors after it is released in the market. Some can be used for a certain service like encryptotel. Of course, they rely on eth for the transfers but if eth fails, many of those erc20 tokens will fail too.
1132  Economy / Speculation / Re: opinion on: June 15, 2017, 03:40:12 AM
It will depend on the outcome of the Segwit debate and the blockchain debate if we can resolve then it will be a lot sooner.
If we are unable to and see a fraction then combined they could hit the scenario but as individual coins not for a few more years.
That is if Segwit will win the debate. Let's consider the fact that there is another side other than segwit which is Bitcoin Unlimited. Let us assume that it won by consensus months from now and it is the one implemented, not segwit. I think that if that happens we might not see 4000 USD even if it is 2 years from now. You are right though that if segwit win, there is a probability of bitcoin reaching the said price soon.
1133  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reaching 3000 usd after 3 weeks on: June 15, 2017, 03:08:50 AM
I think we won't see 3000 USD after 3 weeks from now. Bitcoin has been on the steady upward trend this past months and I think a dump is bound to happen later on when that pump stops at some point. In a few weeks we might see price ranges below 2000 USD again but there is still the probability of bitcoin touching 3000 USD after 3 weeks but the chance of it happening is quite low.
1134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH/btc My 2 cents ? on: June 15, 2017, 02:14:40 AM

1135  Economy / Speculation / Re: Could btc hit 1 usd? on: June 15, 2017, 01:27:30 AM
BTC hitting 1 USD price is possible but the chance of this happening is slim. Right now, it got many users buying and selling it so I think it would only be possible if there are some major changes that people don't like, for example a fork that many don't like, it is very possible that this could happen. It would be possible soon if the solution to the scaling debate is not what people really wanted, and just made thing worst but I hope that btc won't touch 1 USD price soon.
1136  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin price decreasing on: June 15, 2017, 12:52:56 AM
The correction that we have seen I think is pretty normal after bitcoin sitting at a good price since some took profit and I guess this is a good time to rebuy. Many hopes that we would reach 3000 USD soon but I think it would take a longer time before it really reaches that. I kinda like bitcoin's price the way it is now, sitting on a price range above 2000 USD. It would rise again soon but I think it won't reach 3000 USD that easily.
1137  Economy / Economics / Re: What don't you like about Banks and Banks controlling your money on: June 14, 2017, 11:18:04 PM
I don't like banks not just because they control my money, but because someone can now how much money you have, not unlike in bitcoin, no one can really know the exact money that you got unless you say it and reveal all of your bitcoin addresses to others. Also, I don't like the hidden charges sometimes of banks and the interest rate when it comes to savings account is too low, that's why I like bitcoin more than banks.
1138  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it possible to somehow regulate Bitcoin? on: June 14, 2017, 08:52:48 AM
It is impossible to regulate bitcoin fully because it is designed to function this way, where no one can really regulate bitcoin unless they would force their citizens to use their local web wallet controlled by them but bitcoin will still not be fully regulated using this method. Bitcoin can also be banned, but they could not totally stop all users in their country to use bitcoin if they were to ban it.
1139  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Why are popular bitcoin faucet supplying us with a low amount of btc? on: June 14, 2017, 08:02:04 AM
Popular sites like https://freebitco.in/ are supplying us smaller and smaller each time. Is bitcoin slowly becoming rarer and rarer? I just started mining. So I hope that can help me. Please can someone answer this?
Popular faucet supplies it's users with a low amount of btc and is getting lower each day because of the rising price of btc and of course they adjust it so that they will still have some profit for themselves to sustain the site's hosting. If they would not do that, they would easily ran out of funds so they have to adjust each time btc price go up.
1140  Economy / Economics / Re: BITCOIN HALVING? on: June 14, 2017, 06:50:44 AM
Thats roght bitcoin price will increase more after the halving in this july. For sure maybe the price of bitcoinafter tha halving will become double . But even they have a research bro we dont know the exact amount of the bitcoin after the halving.  But i hope the result is good for everyone. So what are you waiting for buy bitcoin now and enjoy later the profit. More bitcoin more money to come.
As far as I know there will be no halving that will happen this year in the month of July. For your information it already happen last year, 2016, and will happen again 4 years after which is by the year 2020. For now it is 3 years too early to say that halving near, also June 21, 2020 is the date when next halving will happen according to bitcoinblockhalf.com but you are right that buying bitcoin now is wise rather than buying it a month before halving.
