1121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Beginners, you don't need Bitcoin first on: July 20, 2023, 10:34:43 PM
This is well said and something that I echo every day due to working in finance, more specifically being a financial advisor who quite simply advises people on their finances every day, all day long.

When I get asked about Bitcoin, which happens often, I always start with .."Let's talk about your job, your income, what investments you have that may or may not have you on track for retirement etc, then we will talk about bitcoin (and likely other shitcoins they bought because some Joe Blow told them it was "going to the moon").

What do you guys think of all this Zach Lavine rumor stuff going on?  I would say it's nonsense, but I listen to Chicago Sports radio on a daily basis and they are starting to say "where there's smoke, there's often fire".  So I think there's a legit chance he does get traded... but what I can't figure out is why on earth they signed Nikola Vucevic if they plan to trade Lavine?

It's because the Bulls have been rebuilding in the last couple of years with acquisition of Vucevic and then DeRozan. And yet they can't even win games in the playoff. So perhaps Lavine frustrations is growing. And I think even before their season end last year, there have been noises already that Lavine might leave Chicago with the same reasons. So we will see how it goes, if star players are unhappy with their franchise then I wouldn't be surprise if Lavine behind the back might be asking for a trade right now from the management.

Yeah but you're missing my point.  They had been in rebuild mode, but aren't any longer.  Now unless they are thinking about going back in to re-build mode, it might not make any sense to move on from Lavine.  Also Lavine might have some power when it comes to trade Vetos to certain places (I'm not real sure), but he doesn't hold the cards, the Bulls own him and will make whatever decision they think is best, not what he wants.

And I thought they are now okay with their roster and adding a new point guard will be their only key to restoring their greatness. They got the disabled player exception which is 10 million, I don't think they need to trade him for someone else. Besides, the duo of DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine is getting better in their chemistry, all they need is a bit more patience. It's not their fault they are undermanned without Lonzo Ball, it's part of the game.
Surely, this will wreck their roster if they trade him. He had been the face of their franchise, it's just a matter of time and the right players to make them great again.
I think the Chicago Bulls management is drooling over the Harden and Lillard opening for trade. Trading LaVine + the $10M will give them the possibility to get one of them.

If that's what the Chicago Bulls were thinking, they should think more deeper. Both Lillard and Harden won't gonna help them win a championship. Yes, they're a great offensive player, but not as much defensively plus either of them will mess up the team chemistry.
Trading away Lavine will be their first mistake if that happens.  Instead they should focus on getting a legitimate big man and a spot up shooters who can also play defense, to add more depth to their current roster. Trading away one of their key players will not going to help them win a chip.

Yeah the Bulls couldn't help the fact that Lavine got hurt, and maybe got a player who's career is over, but still..DeRozan and Lavine aren't getting any younger, they've had time to gel, it's shit or get off the pot at this point.

I also don't see there being even a tiny change that Lillard comes to the Bulls.  Neither him nor Harden make any sense.  I think it's simply rebuild mode, once again.
1123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Top Bitcoin Wallets ? on: July 20, 2023, 10:31:41 PM
Coinomi is probably my favorite.  Ballet is also a solid wallet (it's both a hardware/hotwallet blend sort of). Electrum of course.
1124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which cryptocurrency comes close to bitcoin? on: July 20, 2023, 10:30:14 PM
When it comes to cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, there really isn't any.. Bitcoin is very uniquely one of a kind.  That being said, there's a reason there's countless cryptocurrencies out there, and that's because it's very easy to copy a blockchain...they are open source (at least some of them) so it's easy to get the code.

Litecoin is the one I like in terms of "bitcoin like".  Charlie Lee I know and admire, and I think he works hard to make it "bitcoin lite", and isn't ever trying to replace bitcoin, but simply complement it.

( I like Monero and ETH for very different reasons).
1125  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is Gamble gaining more fans than Bitcoin? on: July 20, 2023, 10:20:08 PM
You are comparing apples and oranges here.  Bitcoin is a digital decentralized cryptocurrency which utilizes the blockchain to process it's transactions, gambling is...not that.  Sure buying bitcoin could be considered "gambling", but no different in the sense that buying a companies stock on the Nasdaq is gambling.

It also seems governments are more comfortable with people blowing their money with them via gambling, then by "investing" it in a decentralized currency that could/might revolutionize the way money works.
1126  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mistake that prevented your big win. on: July 19, 2023, 10:30:40 PM
If you consider investing gambling, which really are often one in the same thing, that I would say my biggest gambling mistake is not investing more money in bitcoin when I first found it.

If you're not including "investments' in this question, then no doubt it's been for several high stakes sports bets.  There's been one Super Bowl that I went heavy on, but didnt go with my gut feeling and ended up losing by a point.  The mistake was not listening to my own self/knowledge/research, and going with sports "talking heads".  I learned from that bet though.
1127  Economy / Economics / Re: AI, Robotics ETFs Are More Popular Than Crypto in 2023 - Bloomberg on: July 19, 2023, 10:27:56 PM
"AI" is the most overhyped thing.  I mean I know it's making waves/progress in it's own right, but it's not like it AGI, which will be an actual massive game changer.

I know Microsoft is investing big in OpenAI the company, so indirectly that's a way to invest in AI.  I believe Amazon is heavy in the space as well.  Cathie Wood's ARKK Fund might.  I certainly wouldn't be surprised as it's a "progressive" tech fund, though it hasn't fared very well of late- https://ark-funds.com/funds/arkk/
1128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can I save my brother by investing in btc now? on: July 19, 2023, 10:23:18 PM
If this is a for real, legitimate post, then I would do one thing and that's find a financial adivsor and or healthcare workers to help you with this situation.  If you don't trust those in China, then you should look elsewhere (perhaps somewhere in Europe)..but the very last thing you should be doing is trying to gamble away money on a singular bet, whether that's bitcoin or Tesla stock.  It's not a wise decision what so ever.
1129  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minimum Age to gamble on: July 19, 2023, 10:20:32 PM
I came across an article How Old Do You Have to Be to Gamble in USA?. In this article, i saw that the minimum age to gamble is between 18 to 21 years. I wonder if the online casino do follow this minimum age for gambling.

Yes, the gambling sites have our age data through the KYC documents. Do they ever restrict anyone who is underage to not to gamble?
Also, if we find any site allowing minors to gamble, can legal action be taken against them?
...

because every system in the casino is made by humans, there is no such thing as perfect, so gambling sites often have difficulty detecting whether those playing on their sites are adults or children, even though the gambling sites already require KYC because now there are many ways to manipulate KYC.

based on what I know, even in countries where gambling is legal, when casinos get a license they must obey the rules set and allowing minors to gamble is a serious violation so you must report to the authorities if you find minors gambling.

Honestly it all comes down to parenting.  Here in the United States if you've got strict parents that heavily monitor your online activity, then it's highly unlikely that children are going to be able to make it possible for themselves to gamble online.  I know when I was a kid my parents would have never let me, they guarded the PC well.

That said if kids have parents that don't care, it's probably going to be pretty easy to get online and gamble.  Parents are the key.
1130  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you quit that's when you lose! on: July 19, 2023, 10:17:31 PM
Lol I mean do people really contemplate this saying as having some sort of deep meaning in their "gambling space"? I mean I could walk in to a Casino tomorrow with $10,000 dollars and play a few slots, maybe some blackjack, or some roulette, maybe bet a few sports games and then walk out of the casino with $110,000 and decide to quit gambling forever.  Well then technically I'm still up.

I kind of joke and understand what you mean, but as always, just only ever gamble with funds you're willing to lose.
1131  Economy / Economics / Re: Can your passion lead to an increase in your net worth? on: July 18, 2023, 09:18:50 PM
I have always had a passion for finance, especially since my father started teaching my about finance from a very young age (probably around 8 or 9 years old).  It since lead me to my career, which I'm very passionate about.  My main passion is helping others, and by doing a good job by helping others, remaining ethical while doing so, my job titles have grown and grown over time.

The fact that I am passionate about what I do for a living shows, and has helped lead me up the "corporate ladder".

My advice to anyone is try and work in a field you are passionate about, or at the very least..somewhat enjoy lol.
1132  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Going to Bitcoin events on: July 18, 2023, 09:15:56 PM
This topic has come up several times before and I will share what I have shared on these similar topics... Yes, these types of events can absolutely be beneficial if you utilize them correctly.  What do I mean by this? Go to good event..go to events with reputable speakers (not Craig Wright or Roger Ver type nonsnese).  Listen to what the speakers have to say.  Ask questions.

Lastly, you'll more than likely make a friend or two, and for a lot of people that makes it worth while in and of it's self.  I've had a lot of friends go to these event's and have a lot of fun.

Let me know what I need to do to join this cause I definitely could use more distractions in my life.

I see an opportunity here.  Does the league need a hazing ritual for new members?  Let's put it up to a vote for all of last year's participants.  You know, like the clusterfuck for all the league settings we had last year.  I feel hazed.   Kiss

My suggestion for the league hazing ritual; find the shittiest shitpost that you have made (and survived the mods) and post it in the hall of shame thread.

 Wink Welcome aboard!

Speaking of hazing, this is a buddy of mine from college.  You may have heard about the Northwestern Football coach being fired due to hazing "rituals"  which were a part of their program, and he was interviewed having played there is freshman year and for having spoken out against it on twitter (he came to Southern IL Univ his Jr and Sr year I believe it was, hence when we met).  Just though you guys might find this interesting..

We are only 8 Sundays away from NFL football action.  Training Camp starts up here in like a week I believe.  I can smell the football in the air! lol
1135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling everywhere on: July 18, 2023, 09:04:22 PM
You should see where I live.  I live in the United States, more specifically Illinois. The State government here decided to legalize certain aspects of gambling about 3 years ago.  Sports gambling is one thing they legalized (with KYC rules and what not) but the main thing they legalized were gambling "parlors" where just about every strip mall ,gas station and hotel in the state (some cities decided against it, as they have the legal right) has a slot machine "parlor".  You hear about it all over the radio as well.  It's crazy how quickly thing changed, as just a few year ago gambling here as a big "no no".
1136  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Titan Mint Coins- Serious Issue- Titan Mint Bitcoin Coins ***NEW UPDATES*** on: July 17, 2023, 11:57:51 PM
Just thought that I would share with this forum that I received an email from Tim on 7/1/23, stating that he was going to be scheduling a webinar in July to help owners of 2fa coins redeem their coins.  I have sent a follow-up to him to find out when he will be scheduling the webinar.  Have not heard anything back from him.
As you know from my earlier posts, I am a 2fa owner that has been trying to get my 2fa coins redeemed since November 2021, with no success to date.

Thank you very much for sharing this information. I’ve heard of this webinar now from several people. So it’s not like Tim doesn’t want people to know about it, I’m just not sure why he’s not officially announced it.

I want nothing more than for everything to be taken care of and made right. Would be great for all parties involved , of course !

Has Tim actually stolen any funds? Or are the 2FA coins just unable to redeem at the moment? have those coins left the original wallet?

I have been follwoing this thread forever and I just don't really feel like there is much danger and am keeping my coins as they are, still don't have any intention of selling them or redeeming them, but I do not have any 2FA coins, so maybe its easy to feel that way?

I just feel like this is a bit of FUD and it will pass, just like everything in Crypto. ETH is the worst crap out there and its at $1900, nobody could care less, hahahaha. Not to mention the 1000's of shitcoins which are absolutely worthless.

I feel like you’ve not been following this very closely then. What would be the FUD you speak of? Tim has locked up millions of dollars worth of bitcoin for YEARS, refusing to address the issue and make people whole, for years. He in fact pushed for 2FA coins as the “safer” route between them and PK coins, and as far as I know, have made these coins inaccessible for at least 5-6 years.  Countless people have contacted him to no avail. Where is the FUD you speak of??

Tim himself has stopped responding to this thread. He’s moved the 2FA coins and admitted to having access to them. He’s been speaking of this webinar for months, but keeps moving the date back..he’s no where to be seen, outside of a couple text messages/emails to a select few.

Currently the Titan website is not even functional!

Not to mention I’ve had multiple people prove to me that they bought private key coins that were never funded themselves, not 2FA , but Private Key. For whatever reason they wish to deal with this privately and I’m respecting that, but the truth remains.. nonetheless.

Where is the FUD??  And what on earth does ETH have to do with anything we are discussing? Lol .
1137  Economy / Economics / Re: Invest in Marketing on: July 17, 2023, 05:49:34 PM
While in the past word-of-mouth and testimonials stood as one of the best way you could sell your product, I believe those days are gone now cause marketing is sometimes even more important than the product's quality and purpose itself. Just look at NFTs like Bored Ape, do they have any unique feature or use case that sets them apart from other NFT projects in the space? No. As a matter of fact they are cut and dry shit NFTs with no real value to provide for their users, but they got into the millions price range cause they went ham on marketing their NFTs to the point that even celebrities and famous icons bought and held their Bored Ape NFTs for long.

I'm not saying you should stop creating good products all together and just focus on how you market your shit, if you do that you'd get into a lot of trouble and you might even risk getting boycotted by your buyers, level the marketing effort you exert with the quality of the product you're creating, and watch it succeed.

I have to completely disagree. If you don’t have a good product, at some point in time the love whatever marketing campaign created or “word of mouth “ has caused, will wear off. I college I went for business school and these are the types of topics we focused on. The product is always most important, even for inferior products, sure marketing becomes all the more important but if it’s not a good product, sales and “hype” won’t last forever.
1138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What kind of rewards/bonuses do you prefer? on: July 17, 2023, 05:43:22 PM
As I’ve discussed before in other threads, I wound prefer bonuses that become available right away. Meaning if I refer a friend to your casino / gambling website, I would like for that money /bonus given to me to be available at least after just betting it one time through. Or, available to withdraw right away. Maybe this isn’t realistic, but it’s what I would prefer.
1139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Referral bonuses are waste of time on: July 17, 2023, 05:36:11 PM
I have started to notice the same thing. Typically around the Super Bowl (NFL / American Football championship) I normally have buddies asking me how I plan on betting the big game. I typically give them a “referral code “ from 2 or 3 of my favorite betting sites.  However as good as they seem, it’s takes forever to actually be able to claim the money as withdraw-able and I just end up sloppily gambling it away.  So, it would be nice to find a legit sports site that has a legit referral bonus..ie actual money.
1140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You are still very early on: July 17, 2023, 05:27:34 PM
I think we will all still be very early for some time to come. There’s still far more people who may have heard or bitcoin but have absolutely no idea what it really is and how it works. I think over the course of time this will change (mainly as older more conservative/set in their way folks die off).

I have felt that I’m early for a long time, and still feel that way. How can you not?
