11201  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: For which exchanges is KYC required? on: March 12, 2019, 07:15:52 PM
Kyc os always required when you are dealing with Fiat.

When dealing with cryptoxcrypyo you can avoid kyc, as many exchanges do not require it.

When involving large crypto amounts though, KYC is required

Yeah, that's for a very high volume. I think binance only requires kyc for volume above 2 BTC.
11202  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: currency exchange on: March 12, 2019, 07:13:39 PM
I suggest you use some service like instaswap changelly easyrabbit coinswap etc...

They do not require kyc, are reliable (for small amounts) and are fast and cheap
Is this method safe. Do they take advantage of that?
How to exchange. How much is equal to eth vs bitcoin.

It's safe. I use it a lot. Changelly is good, but it's nice to compare different sites do get the best rate.

They take advantage as they charge a small % of your conversion. If the Volume is small, that's ok because withdrawal fees in exchanges are high but for high volume exchanges are usually better.

You usually receive the converted coin in less than 30mjnutes.
11203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: claiming bitcoin gold on: March 12, 2019, 01:00:32 PM
The problem with coinomi at the moment is that it is not yet available for iOS. I still have to claim my Bitcoin Gold for that reason, no other alternatives at the moment. But they will be, with time.

Coinomi os already available for iOS in Mobile version.

It's a good wallet and you can use it for small amounts of funds without problems.

Easy to claim btg there.

11205  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Guide] Using Google Trend to choose right time to accumulate for your portfolio on: March 12, 2019, 11:14:36 AM
Google Trend is a worthless tool to base on your buy and sell decisions, Google trends only shows you the search results volume happening in Google's search engine and there is nothing more to that. People use Google's search engine all the time and the bad thing about it is if we use GTrends as basis for our buy and sell decisions they can always manipulate the search volume just by searching the word "Bitcoin" in it.

It really can be a manipulated data, but I don't think it's worthless.

When we hit 20k, bitcoin was in media, Google trends, etc... It was clearly a bad time to buy. Now even According to Google trend it looks like a good time.

It's good use combine various tools and data when making a buy/sell decision

11207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: I am looking for team member [pre determined] on: March 12, 2019, 10:15:10 AM

I have also seen my name here in the list and Haven't applied for anything, but I am curious about this.

It also confirms that we won't get paid a dime in case the project's sale doesn't succeed.

I would hope for at least some part of the salary to be fixed no matter what.

I agree. If we have some kind of payment in BTC or eth, no matter what, this would be more interesting.

I don't have any experience in bounty managing or translation but I can try if conditions are good.
11208  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Update Google Chrome now! on: March 12, 2019, 10:07:08 AM
Updating software is always a good security practice.

One more important thing is to use a non administrator account for daily use. So these attacks cannot do much

Isn't this forum going away? Why so many feature requests for this ancient hunk of SMF?? Tongue

Lol

You are right. Those discussions should be about new forum software, not about this old smf forum
11211  Other / Meta / Re: How about "bookmarks" for topics? on: March 08, 2019, 05:13:53 PM
What’s wrong with your browser’s bookmark option?

Create a folder for BTTK and keep the posts saved there.

I change computers and browsers a lot..
Personally I would like an option to save a post as a favorite or something like that.

I was using merit to do so. Everytime I found an interesting post I merited it so I could find it easily in my merit history. But merit history only last 3 months ,so I use third party sites like Loycev's website and vod's bpip
11212  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What do you think is the most surprising thing in the History of Bitcoin? on: March 08, 2019, 04:02:00 PM
I think Mt. God hack was very surprising.
I once saw antonopoulos talking about it. It was an exchange with like 90% volume that crashed  Bitcoin so spectacularly that it looked like the end.

It was amazing to see bitcoin going from 32 to 2 and then recover. How in a so small amount of time BTC price recovered and even increased.

It is also interesting how the community was able to embrace a campaign about the importance of holding your own private keys to prevent losses like that again.
11213  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are you want to be Quick rich? Then cut "Quick rich" from your dictionary. on: March 08, 2019, 12:54:01 PM
The best way to make money is to save it.
Do not expend all your wage every month, save all you can and invest it somewhere. ETFs and bonds are the safer choices usually

High risk investments such as bitcoin MAY help your stash to grow, however you can also lost money.

There is no quick rich scheme that is safe.
11214  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reminder: Your funds are NOT safe in third-party wallets on: March 08, 2019, 12:50:42 PM
Nothing is ever 100% safe, even with your private keys hidden someone can physically attack you and torture you until you give them up.  In some cases people feel safer with a 3rd party.  Not everyone wants to be their own bank.

I agree that not everyone wants to be their own bank. And even the ones that does want, doesn't want to hold all their money by themselves.

But the idea to remove funds from exchanges is that it's much safer.
11215  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Lost blockchain.info wallet id, support ignores me (0.05 bounty for help) on: March 08, 2019, 12:40:23 PM
Hello,

so I have very old wallet, that was created few years ago. I have all the data, date of creation, password, knowledge about how it was created, used, accessed, when and whatever else you might imagine. The thing I don't have is wallet id.

(How did it happen? I've saved password into password manager, but forgot to put in wallet id. I did not back up 12 words(my bad).)

The only thing you should have backed up is the seed..

This wallet id you can maybe find in your email when you created the wallet. Or maybe it's saved in your old computer browser(autofill)?
11216  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: cryptocurrency is measured by food on: March 07, 2019, 12:25:36 PM
There is nothing amazing in buying food with cryptocurrency. People bought pizza with BTC in 2011 long ago...

And you don't need an Altcoin for that, bitcoin can do it.
11217  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reminder: Your funds are NOT safe in third-party wallets on: March 06, 2019, 10:11:52 PM
You can replace all this wall of text for:
Remove your money from exchanges and put them in a wallet where you hold your private keys.
11218  Other / Meta / Re: Best place to post this kind of topic? on: March 06, 2019, 09:01:55 PM
The best board to post it is in the Games and rounds Board

O agree, this should be games and rounds board.
Games and rounds is a place where people gamble and do stuff like what you said.

Service announcement is more fit for altcoins projects which is not the case.
11219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best blockchain? on: March 06, 2019, 01:03:42 AM
By saying that your "best" blockchain cannot use pow, you have very limited options.

The best projects like BTC, xrp, iota, ethereum, are all out.

Try peercoin then
11220  Economy / Reputation / Re: [FUN] Is DdmrDdmr even human? on: March 06, 2019, 12:10:21 AM
It's impressive how computers and the internet can be addictive. Many users spend many hours a day here, making incredible contributions to the community. Ddmr is one of them of course.

I believe this should be in reputation board.
