Nice volume and price up from what now looks like a definitive bottom test in spite of BTC rise...

Much more positive.

Not sure if it is the bottom. The price is around $0.4 for about a year now. It is one of the stablest coin in the world.
Is this how you feel better about your investment crashing? Justifying it by saying it's been stable in USD?
XMR has not been stable. It's been crashing hard. Except for a brief period in the pre-exchange era the price is at all time lows. I'm just sitting here hoping it won't break 0.001 support.

If XMR is not going to outperform BTC why not just own BTC instead? If it's USD you want it makes more sense to hold BTC as long as the ratio falls. I'm not going to be happy with XMR at $1, $10 or even $100 if the XMR/BTC ratio crashes. I never watch the USD price, is seems completely irrelevant.

A falling XMR/BTC ratio indicates failure to compete in the cryptocurrency space.

Lol, your statement is patently false. Everything (all commodities) including BTC are tied to USD. You may have fooled yourself into believing otherwise but that's all your doing is deluding yourself.

Okay, even if so, the BTC "commodity" increasing while the XMR "commodity" is falling or not rising (both relative to USD) indicates a failure of XMR to compete with BTC. I don't see the counterargument here.

A failure to hold equilibrium during  bubble in a manipulated market is not indicative to a project failure. If there is a significant drop ratio beyond the average of other main alts then I would be concerned.

I'm thinking the price is being held down intentionally until the Gui is released when those that are in control have accumulated their limit.

The only other reason I can think of is that big holders know something the general public doesn't like a fatal flaw and are divesting as slowly as they can.
11224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [neㄘcash, ᨇcash, net⚷eys, or viᖚes?] Name AnonyMint's vapor coin? on: December 08, 2015, 08:26:32 AM
....

Agreed this is a problem when there is a huge double-digit percentage annual debasement due to PoW that is mostly ending up in professional miners hands. The professional miners locate their latest model ASICs next to hydropower plants have 1/4 the electricity costs (compared to residential) and 1/100th - 1/1000th (for a specially designed PoW hash function such as the one I will soon release, not SHA) the computational costs compared to general CPU at home, thus their cost of mining for example a Bitcoin is less than $50 each. They will always have an incentive to add more resources to capture a greater percentage of the mined coins.

But that isn't the only way to structure PoW mining.

There are two ways to deal with this problem:

1) Force every user to submit PoW with their transactions, i.e. no transaction gets on the block chain without PoW attached. Note getting this sort of design to be robust, requires an entirely different way of structuring a block chain. If the attached PoW is low enough difficulty, then it costs more to farm it out (network latency cost) than to mine it locally given it is an insignificant and unnoticeable cost.

2) Limit debasement to a small annual percentage.

In that case, the professional miner will not be able to mine a significant quantity of the coins, and they will not be selling a significant percentage of the market cap. Thus the downward pressure on the price that impacts Bitcoin will be abated....

Why not just use copyrighted cpu extensions that are illegal for manufacturers to produce without Intel and or AMd licensing?
11225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are BanxShares as good as GAW Paycoin? on: December 07, 2015, 07:10:52 PM
If I cannot sell them, what should I do?  Huh
Put it down to experience.
The first lesson is, dont involve yourself with people who publish unachievable returns.
The second lesson is, if a company replies to standard business info requests, and/or requests to justify said unachievable returns, in the manner that Banx does (threats, dismissiveness, not answered, victim mentality, doxing, etc.).......run for the hills.
The third lesson, is to understand the above two lessons.

I have been trying days to sell my Banx but it seems that I can't ever sell them since Banx won't allow me to sell them cheaper than market price  Sad

Any suggestions on how should I get rid of my Banx?  Huh

Start a OTB thread, cross your fingers there's a fool out there and then pray you can move them. Maybe you could sell the entire account with those worthless (as in NO worth whatsoever) to some mentally incapacitated person.

BTW, Lol @DecentralizeEconomics's post.

Sorry stereotype but im not wasting words by repeating every thing we have already gone over on this thread. I simply came to add that i had recieved my profit payouts again from banx.  Grin

So, Did you get paid this month?

Looks like there were no 'profits' this month.

Looks like Marks right hand man (bigmanintown) left, as well.

Stop playing defense and move:
B5 --> B4
That does not look like a good move to me.

This game has gone far beyond me so i will just make a guess at a move and not make it a vote.

My guess would pb4

LOL I misread this as being Bishop to B4. Doh

...

Another interesting improvement is change of the base cryptography to the actual standard, as opposed to the cryptonote version of the cryptography. ...

Do you have a link for a more detailed explanation on this?

The original crypto code was taken from Daniel J. Bernstein's library without attribution, slightly modified (though the modifications have been reviewed and were not nefarious).

The copied/modified code has been replaced by the actual, original Danlel J. Bernstein crypto library, which makes more clear the source and integrity of the crypto library. It will also make it easier to incorporate upstream patches to the crypto library if any are released.

Thx

Ring-confidential transactions will also be in the development branch at some point, which means that now the amount of a transaction will also be private

What do you mean it will be private ? Isn't it already private (with mixin) ? Am I wrong or are Confidential Transaction more obscure than current implementation ?

Amounts of transactions are not hidden.

http://moneroblocks.eu/

Mixin doesn't hide amount of transactions, it hides the source. However, amounts are somewhat hidden by change. A small amount of work has been done to improve how the wallet constructs transactions to improve the ambiguity of amounts and some more work has been done to come up with methods to improve that. They may or may not be made obsolete by RingCT though.

Thx for the more in depth explanation, I added to my post above. Maybe you could answer that for me?

Who wants to bet Risto is in jail ?

Last time he was seen in Thailand in presence of the Mighty Goat enjoying old Bordeaux wines and Habanos. If your mind is a jail, you are in jail everywhere.

Really ? That is all you have to say ?
I realize you have checked yourself into a mental institution before so i will forgive your comment i quoted Wink
Did they have your preferred brand of cigars and wine in the loony bin ?
Hmm i wonder what brand of Wine Berni Madoff drinks in jail ?
And hey let's talk about wines shall we..
If i wanted some world class famous Wine i'd snap my god damn fingers.
After all my bloody name is on the bottle LOL
World famous since the 50's

Go back to hiding Risto

PS:
Everyone.. this guy admitted his first altcoin was Monero.
So he had 821 BTC bought a shit load then pranced around here spamming about it ever since.
I guess i'd claim what ever i bought was the best too Wink
Only thing is i would have picked a better coin.. after all i started doing this way before you did Risto.

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black! If anyone needs a rubber room for a few months then it's you.

AFA XMR being his first and only alt then I applaud him for his due diligence and foresight. Something you clearly lack as proven by your alt choices.

"I am here to warn others...*

You guys really do think that don't you....LOL!!!

Refer to my previous post

"...It's funny as they seems to think that by spewing here that it might effect investment in DASH.  LOL. Serious well healed investors don't look for their investment insight on nerd fest (troll infested) boards. And any small fry that they may influence with their nonsense we are way better off without because their obviously to lazy to do real research, imo."

Actually quite the opposite. Anyone that invested at the outset didn't do their due diligence or was part of the instamine scam. I took Evans word that there would be a relaunch and stopped mineing only to find out I was screwed the next day. So yeah anyone that does real research will find this coin is a scam. I generally don't comment in hear but you are just outright lying and n00bs should be warned about that fact. If nothing else than to do their own due diligence.

do we suffer from it?

If someone is setting up malicious servers on your Lan then your already screwed. Cheesy

Yeah that has been verified, but
Quote
buffer overflow on the stack resulting in remote code execution
gives no details, so it could be broader

Quote
Description

An exploitable buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the XML parser functionality of the MiniUPnP library. A specially crafted XML response can lead to a buffer overflow on the stack resulting in remote code execution. An attacker can set up a server on the local network to trigger this vulnerability.

Buffer overflow is present in client-side, miniupnpc, part of the library. Vulnerable part of the code is triggered when applications using miniupnpc library are doing initial network discovery upon startup, while parsing the replies from UPNP servers on the local network. Buffer overflow is triggered by an oversized XML element name.

I don't see how it can be broader? BTW, I find your sig hilarious. Smiley

Anyone have an idea why there is such a large percentage of 7.8255 XMR sized transactions?

That is approximately the size of the current block reward (coinbase). Although the transaction you included in your post had inputs so it wasn't a coinbase, it was probably a miner or pool moving one of their block rewards.

W0w it's dropped that much! I thought it was in the 9's.
