ingram is getting 20k units as of...few weeks ago iirc
While this is interesting, are we able to actually order from there? Because I'd be interested in whatever minimum quantity they sell.

I'm pretty sure only resellers can buy direct from them.

We may be able to become a reseller I have an 18 year ebay account that has done business since 2003.
I do a schedule c every year.

look me up on ebay as philipma1957

question would be what is moq 500 cards is too high but 100 💯 may be doable.

say 100 x 3060 at 350 is 35k out of pocket.

That is not too bad.

I will contact them tomorrow and ask about reselling.

oh eth is at 10.6 cents an mh.

Not sure when this drops 💧 but every day that it rises is money in the bank.
11222  Economy / Economics / Re: Only 2% of addresses hold 1 Bitcoin or more — Is this true? on: February 04, 2021, 01:42:32 AM
I'm curious about some publications mentioning that "only 2% of the addresses holds 1 Bitcoin or more".

I found this to be quite surprising, since I always supposed longtime hodlers to be the larger segment of the Bitcoin ecosystem and not just a small fraction.

How accurate this data could be?

As for me, it's not that surprising, considering that most people aren't that rich to afford various risky investments. Also, even if we take large investors - it takes nerve to see BTC drop in price and still keep it on the wallet, also, many people are greedy and they sell just as the price begins to drop.

So potential longtime holders are either very rich people who don't care if they lose money, but if they're rich and not interested in profit - why invest in the first place? Just for fun, I guess, so we can't expect the % of such people to be large. Or, it can be ordinary middle to upper-class people, but for this kind of people, it must be particularly hard to see their investments lose value as Bitcoin drops in price, so many of them eventually sell.

I am 64 semi-retired and don’t earn huge money 💰.

So If I have a decent house in a decent town.
An income stream of x
A 401k of 4x

Having 4x more in btc is too much .

Lets pretend an example with even numbers.

100k income pretty much fixed.

400k  in a 401k in a moderately safe portfolio 💼

means having 400k more in btc is over investment in crypto for me. As I only have 100k income and cant save back losses very fast n my fixed income.

I would prefer

same 100k fixed income.

600k in 401k very safe portfolio 💼

200k in btc

A crash and burn 🔥 of crypto would not kill me in the second case.

But would really hurt in the first case.
11223  Economy / Speculation / Re: Top 20 days for Bitcoin on: February 04, 2021, 01:29:06 AM
Nice we just stayed in the top 27.

Was afraid my birthday could end the streak.

Now I am hoping it becomes a rally day marker  Grin Grin

The 28th we go to 32k - - - - - edit - - we crossed 32k need to hold it.
the 29th we go to 34k
the 30th we go to 36k
the  31st we top at 38k
we crack 40 k on feb 1st

and then of course it gets into a repetitive loop 🔁 on feb 2

cause honey badger 🦡 likes the movie ground hog’s day.

after five or six days right near 40k. we hit the new  alltime high on feb 8 or 9 47k

This is very close to what has happened since I posted it.

Let us all hope for this to be more and more  accurate.

Feb 8 or 9 47k.

Hello again, after a lot of search and calls and emails, I have managed to source some AMD 5700.
Do those cards worth to invest at a big quantity ? I am mostly interested for ETH mining.

i hope you got them.

Also, being bitten by the Black Widow Spider there and moving to another state soured me on the possibility of living out in the sticks.  I also saw snakes on the place...  South Texas has some nasty creatures.

Rick can't stand Tarantulas.

Austin is practically overrun with them, from what I'm led to understand.

Not so much in the area we are looking in. Guess it gets too cold up here. Not many scary things around the Dallas parallel. Brown Recluse, Black Widow, Water Moccasins, and the occasional Rattle Snake are all that I'm aware of. Have only ever personally eyeballed a Black Widow around these parts.

Black windows look cool.

They are bigger than I thought they would be.

Is that because black windows need to be bigger to let in the same amount of light as regular windows? Hmmm  Huh

OT - this is looking a little bit Gentlemen

That is funny. I fixed it.

Oh yes!!  I forgot about Ingram.  15 years ago I was buying from a company called DBL Distributing, in Scottsdale AZ.  Ingram bought them out many years ago.  Oh man, I need to see if I can get back in with them!

maybe we can set up a group buy if the MOQ is too high.

Where you live in the world matters.

In Manhattan having a 1-2 btc balance is nice but not a lot of money.

If you live in Vietnam having a 1-2 vtc balance is meaningful.

A penthouse apartment in Manhattan is 20k a month rent
Same style and size in Hanoi it is 2k a month rent.

But earning is less in Hanoi so I guess it is a balance.

I would not buy from amazon or aliexpress. not for 20k

they both are out of stock
11231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nicehash Vs all on: February 03, 2021, 09:45:42 PM
Nicehash is an incredibly easy system to setup and use. I would argue it's probably one of the easiest for mining.

The 2nd biggest benefit of Nicehash is getting paid out in BTC while mining other coins.

They do often take a slightly higher fee but honestly it's marginal and very negligible in my opinion.

The only gripe I have with Nicehash is that they still haven't paid me back fully from their "hack" sometime back...

With all that being said I still use them and also mine on Ethermine.org

why is that they supposedly fully paid everyone in December 2020

they fully paid my three accounts the last of what they owed me.

and they paid my partners two accounts . i know of a few others they paid off.

you are the only one I have seen that did not get paid off.

Looks like all the video cards in today's Newegg shuffle are bundles which is kind of sad.

the white gigabyte bundle is the one I missed Monday.

It is worth it. As the psu can run an onda mobo nicely.

the bundle with the evga and the evga psu is decent.

the bundle with the capture device is meh https://www.evga.com/articles/01418/evga-xr1-capture-device/

so most likely if they pick me it will be for that device.
11234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is it possible that watts draw follows Temp? on: February 03, 2021, 06:49:23 PM
Try finding a bad riser on a 13 card rig that crashes the rig intermittently. 1 usb cable out of the 13 is bad and it does it on and off.

you lost the hash of 13 cards on and off till you find the problem.
I do not use more than 6 graphics cards in 1 farm.
The farm is much easier to maintain and all components are easy to sell as computer parts in the secondary market.
A large warehouse with good cooling will solve the problem of overheating of video cards, but if the miner does not have such a warehouse, then you have to use raisers

It's not a riser issue, it's a scaling issue. A 13 card rig is twice as likely to have a failure, any failure, as a 6 card rig.
With more components to troubleshoot it's harder to find the fault.

I had a 13 card rig.  UGG  it never ran 10 days with out something wrong.  Usually a 1 or 2 card drop out.

These mini rigs when they are loaded with 3 or 4 nvidia on smos have 100 day up streaks one or two streaks like that each year.

My gear is scattered

LakeWood NJ    5 gpu rigs
Howell NJ         5 gpu rigs
Howell NJ         2 gpu rigs
Clifton NJ         7 gpu rigs. and tons of asics for LTC and BTC

Uptime = king for me.

Heat = the enemy for all this gear.

and yes sometimes your space forces the use of risers.
11235  Economy / Speculation / Re: At long term — Could 1 sat equals 1 USD? on: February 03, 2021, 06:44:42 PM
Hi there,

What do you guys think are the chances that at long term (say 10~20 years) 1 sat could be valued 1 US dollar?
Is there any solid foundation supporting that Bitcoin price in the future?

Thanks.

Unless USD drastically lose value no. That would mean a marketcap of $210 trillion.  Whole USD M2 money supply today is less then $20 trillion. All gold in the world is worth about $11 trillion.

It should never get better than gold but to reach the % gold does. 3.3-4% of the world worth  the 0.227% it is now is possible.
11236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: February 03, 2021, 06:42:06 PM
covid related shortages during a parabolic price rise is quite a unique situation

It is possible the 2021 may be the greatest gpu card mining era ever.

Frankly I am hoping that cards stay pretty much impossible to get for all of us.

Just 1 or 2 cards a month if you are lucky to find them would very likely make us all a fortune.

ETH is over 10.2 cents an mh!
11237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: February 03, 2021, 06:24:25 PM
currently at .059 kwh - clearly an outlier but definitely worth it

So you make

11.25
- 0.45
10.80 and in 111 days the card would earn 1198.80

I actually am hoping for continued card shortages I think it helps the price of ETH.

https://etherscan.io/chart/hashrate

all time high of 363 th or 3,102,597 of your cards. Grin

If that 363th grows to 500th by July eth needs to be 2222 with high fees.

A lot depends on the asics bitmain could easily have a

4gh unit

2.7gh units are out there

The hashrate growth is critical.

I think a 5 month window of dead solid stupid good profits can be done here.
Time will tell.

obviously not at the wall, still..impressive

Wow, it's amazing these Radeons VIIs, almost the same hashrate as a 3090 but a little bit more power hungry, 2 years after launch, and still a beast with HBM2 memory

I never had a chance to buy this card in my country, I think only 1 store had available at launch, but the price was a joke, more than twice the price of a 1080ti, but this store is specialized in rare itens, like founders editions, water cooled GPUs etc

For you guys living in US, was it easy to find the card available for purchase?

Not really, it was definately an outlier of a card. Just happened to see it on offerup for cheap - 400 usd. and that was 6 months ago

Nice score wit that card it is worth 1200 easy.

if you do 117mh at 9.62 cents = 11.25 usd a day. pretend power cost is 300 or 7.2 kwatts say 20 cent power = 1.44

11.25-1.44 = 9.81 daily profit.

1200/9.81 = 122 days.  less if your power is under 20 cents a k-watt
11239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: February 03, 2021, 04:16:35 PM
installing the update now - supposedly 105 MH @ 2xx watts

if it pull 250 watts to do 105mh  = 2.38 watts a mh

my 3080 do 95mh at 225 watts. = 2.36 watts a mh

basically equal to each other.
11240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: February 03, 2021, 04:04:20 PM
Radeon VIIs with the new TRM update sure have held their value, good lord

yep they must do 100+ mh correct?

My partner has 8-10 1080ti's left we were going to sell them at 400, but they earn 42mh = 4 bucks a day at 180 watts.  So just mine them. In 110 days they will earn 440 each - 40 power = 400 each.

I think we have

400mh
375mh
453mh
565mh
300mh
2093 mh = 200 a day eth

600 ph =  138 a day btc

7gh = 33.18 a day LTC+Doge

$266.00 a day. 1/2 mine or 4k a month after all expenses

Its good money but in dec 2017 the mining month  was 10k for me and 10k for buysolar.

the doge score is nice and all cap gains which I prefer over mining income as it is simpler to report.
