<removed some frustration shit>
We need a non javascript mirror. That is the only way any real traffic is going to happen.
You know that we spent a ton of effort making sure the forum works without Javascript, right? We eventually even recently fixed the JS menu, which was a pain as Bootstrap likes a JS menu...but all sorted now:) Tough week, pretty frustrated just vented here. My bad, I know you guys spent alot of time on it. I set "Latest" under forum view and the site ignores me and keeps "oldest" but it accepts "weighted" just fine a method which I abore. I thought the issue was JS related. I would still like to see a wordpress mirror but am not even sure if it is possible with this custom site.

I am on GitHub, I've already made a few small pull requests, and I find your reply doesn't add something to the conversation.
I agree, edited out. AFA a MoneroDice sig. I would do that in a hearbeat. Payed in XMR is a huge bonus, then I wouldn't even have to goto an exchange.

Also, the official forum is forum.getmonero.org. Announcements and discussions are often posted there instead of here, though may also get cross posted here.
I've tried to use the official forums before and just found them unpleasant... it's hard to put my finger on it; maybe it has to do with the alignment or style of the text, or perhaps the old-school nested comment trees... not 100% sure. I'm sure someone at one point worked very hard to put them together, so I hope no one takes it personally, but I would almost rather Monero move over to a Simple Machines Forum standard itself. This place catches a lot of shit, but with a few exceptions its actually very functional and pleasant to use. I agree, not a big fan of that forum design. You guys know that you can change that, just click on the little gear button at the top to go to settings ( https://forum.getmonero.org/user/settings) and under "Forum View" just change "Sort posts by" to Latest or Oldest, per your preference. Then you'll never see a nested thread again:) I happen to find this forum difficult to follow as well. It might be the lack of sane defaults, or at least intuitive defaults for those that are used to the classic-style forums such as this (i.e. everyone). I believe sort by Oldest and expand all by default would be a nice start to welcome new users. <removed some frustration shit> We need a non javascript mirror. That is the only way any real traffic is going to happen. On a side note: I think I'm gonna go sell out, what's a sig campaign thats not a scam?

Sorry. I only edit quotes for brevity, I hate reading big walls of text when I'm just replying to one specific thing.

Price was pretty stable at 0.002 BTC/XMR for months, when BTC ranged between $220-$300. So, $0.45-$0.6 roughly. Now we are at the bottom of that range, which is roughly one quarter. I know if I were to exchange all the XMR I bought this summer for BTC now, the fiat value would be much less. That was not the question. There are direct fiat/xmr markets. I did some digging on coincap.io (they display the fiat price of XMR over time). Around the time MoneroMooo made his first proposal (somewhere in the 2nd week of July if I recall correctly), XMR was on average worth ~0.52$-0.55$. Currently it's ~0.39$-0.42$. Thus, the increase in XMR is perfectly justifiable in my opinion. Next to that, he is doing an awesome job, so even if the fiat price didn't decline his increase was justifiable. THIS was edited out of my post " Not that that matters as 40 XMR for a competent developer is a good deal. " Am I being played? Don't edit my quotes Saddam if you are going to leave qualifier statements out.

Crossposted: I'm impressed with MMoo's work and really like to see him continue. That being said I have a question about this. "but monero was also valued about a quarter higher in fiat terms" I thought the price was steady v/s fiat. It's BTC that has been bubbled. Not that that matters as 40 XMR for a competent developer is a good deal. But I thought I'd ask about this. BTW I would like to see Mmooo to help community members like Smoothie that are working without compensation. How imminent is this? https://forum.getmonero.org/7/open-tasks/2412/xmr-pool-infrastructure-overhaulFrom IRC: <dEBRUYNE__> <moneromooo> If we were to continue using minor for hard fork voting, we'd get down to 64 years. But that'd require us to actively want to break it, which sounds unlikely. <= This is about W0lf`s remark right? <dEBRUYNE__> regarding the pool structure, mining code etc. <Wolf`> dEBRUYNE__: about the block size growth, yeah <dEBRUYNE__> Wolf`: I see, so the code would break after 64 years? <dEBRUYNE__> Or am I missing something :-P <omgcraptsysucks> 64 years is coming sooner than you think. may as well fix it now <Wolf`> dEBRUYNE__: yeah, I didn't know when the timestamp would grow, I said <Wolf`> just that it'd get bigger <Wolf`> guess it's not THAT much of an issue <Wolf`> but the rest of the problems remain Thx man. Wolf should put that info into his post.

Should a good person mine with a bad computer? Bad = 35 H/s
If yes then, solo mine or pool?
If you're mining to help the network (and that's really the only reason with a bad computer) and you can, solo mine. You may want to look into underclocking/undervolting to make the efficiency slightly less bad, unless you 100% don't care about electricity/heat. To support the network we have recently started mining on our Monero payment processing droplet at digital ocean. This surprises me, AES-NI is intel only right? Maybe I'll try my Hex star arch cpu.
No most new AMD CPUs have it as well. Thx, have fallen behind the times. And memory doesn't work well anymore.

I don't see the GUI proposal and funding , maybe for 2020. Don't need to rush the team, they are busy trolling and fuding here Hahahaha +1.000.000 I recommend them to work about GUI wallet instead of trolling DASH but i dont think they have a brain to create a GUI. They can be just cheap troll in this forum. I think the gui is held back until the accumulation phase is done. Price suppression would be part of that plan if I were doing it. Sounds like a rather schemey scam to me.. but good luck to ya! Yeah, Instamine and change reward size is the way to get rich. Buying and using the market is such a fools method. BTW I'm only here because olcaytu2005 invited me by PM. As an aside, I have never trolled this thread and have always stated just facts.

I posted for you, did that help any? ...
You told me the fastest GPU's doing 200 H/s? .... so why does he has 500 H/s with a 290x? I guess 390's would even be faster.
Not the fastest, most power efficient. 750 ti uses ~50 W to get 250 h/s. 290x probably uses like 300 W to get 900 h/s with claymore miner I think. I asked for the most powerfull. Not for the most efficient. My AMD Octacore with 8MB cache pulls somewhat 310 with four threads on bitmonerod My AMD Octacore does 375-385 H/s with 6 of the 8 cores running. After testing between the Intel iCPU's and the AMD CPU's I've found that the AMD CPU out performs the Intel. Just what I've observed in my testing with three different machines I have. Overall I like the AMD GPU & CPU's for hashing. This surprises me, AES-NI is intel only right? Maybe I'll try my Hex start arch cpu. Link the miner your using please.
