11321  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain down? on: November 29, 2015, 08:59:15 AM
Server seems to be down.... i don't use them myself but some clients are reporting they can't transfer BTC because Blockchain seems to be down.

Anybody know more about it?

Yes they are down (CloudFlare error page) , as I said on another topic It's probably DDOS attack or just getting shitload of requests . but there is no information about it (not on twitter or anywhere else) .

Web server is down

People should just make a good decision on their life and stop using Blockchain.info because on the last few months , this happened more then once. So if people care about their coins they should switch to something else before it's too late .
11322  Economy / Economics / Re: When do you buy Bitcoin ? on: November 29, 2015, 08:41:00 AM
Just wondering when everyone buys bitcoin, weekly, monthly or just on the falls?  thinking of setting up something regular to ride out the waves.....  Grin

I usually sell stuff to get bitcoins and in case the buyer don't accept or don't have Bitcoin as payment method then I accept Paypal and then I buy Bitcoin using Paypal , so It's basically monthly/whenever I have the money  ... once I have decent stuff to sell (mostly digital) .
11323  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info down again? on: November 29, 2015, 08:30:53 AM
I was just about to send a payment for the signature campaign and blockchain.info went down. Im getting 522 Connection timed out. Anybody know what other wallet I can use to send 1 transaction to multiple addresses?

Yes it seems like they are down again , I would assume it's a DDOS attack or they are getting too much traffic since they got that CloudFlare error . Now for sending to multiple people I guess you can do that using Electrum desktop wallet .
11324  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: about blockchain paper wallet fee on: November 28, 2015, 06:08:50 PM
It's not possible to make a transaction without fees (or let's say not recommended ) , If you don't put any fees your transaction may never get confirmed and the bitcoins may eventually come back to you after few days .
So yes the fees are deduced and that's pretty normal however 100k satoshi (0.001 BTC) seem to be little bit big , the more logical is having (0.0001 BTC as fees which is 10k satoshi ) .

Little bit off topic : It's better to switch to desktop wallets (but that won't change the fact that there will be some fees) because it's never recommended to give your bitcoins in an online wallets (blockchain.info for example or exchange websites) as there is more chances of getting easily hacked .
11325  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoins safe? on: November 28, 2015, 06:01:50 PM
Is it safe to keep all of my assets in Bitcoins? And how Department for Combating Economic Crimes, can affect my account?  What permissions they need , to freeze all my money ?

I'm not sure what you mean by "safe" , If you mean storing so no one really finds out about them then yes most likely you can do that . But if you mean selling all and buy BTC instead then... no one can be sure about that , price can decrease with time and can increase .. It all depends on many factors such Miners wanting to continue mining (If they see profit) , Supply-demand etc ...
Bitcoin cannot be frozen , and if you hide them I don't see how they will find out about them honestly .

Just want to hide some money. And I dont see, how I can get Bitcoins anonymously.

First of all , you shouldn't use exchanges (at least not Centralized one) that asks you for ID , passport and other personal information's .
You can search for someone to trade with on "Currency exchange" section (depends what are the payment methods you have) and that's it , who can know what the transaction was for ? unlike buying from an exchange .
Or you can use LocalBitcoins and try to find someone to meet him face to face (in your country/city) and you buy BTC against cash.

Hello-

Just a question/suggestion/idea:

Should auctions for forum accounts have their own section?

Or even, should there be a "Digital Auctions" sub-section?

It would be similar to the "Goods" section having the sub-section titled "Digital Goods"

Thanks Smiley

Yes there is decent amount of people (17 of them right now on the first page) who are selling their Bitcointalk accounts on Auctions section but I don't think it means that there should be a section only for the accounts , otherwise we will have to do the same exact thing for Digital goods section for what comes to the accounts and this is only going to screw things up .
and I also don't get the second question you're asking  ? Auctions section is to Auction anything which means both Digital and physical . goods .
11328  Other / Meta / Re: Why do I need to wait 6 minutes before making 2nd post? on: November 28, 2015, 04:02:41 PM
It is to prevent spammers. The wait time reduces as you rank up, so just wait the 6 minutes and post again and eventually your rank will increase and the wait time will decrease dramatically.
How many posts do I need to make to move up the rank?
Can you please link me to the thread which explains Ranking System here?

You basically gain 14 activity each two weeks (maximum) , See here for how much activity you need to rank up : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=237597.0
and what's the waiting time b/w making 2 posts for each of these user groups?

This should answer your questions (how they are calculated) :

Limits on posting

Code:
waittime = 360;
if(activity >= 15)
        waittime = (int)(90 - activity);
if(activity >= 60)
        waittime=(int)(34.7586 - (0.0793103 * activity));
if(activity >= 100)
        waittime = max((int)(14-(activity/50)), 4);

Limits on PMs
I've adjusted the limits to make spamming more difficult.

Activity   Min. seconds between post actions   Max PM recipients   PMs per hour
036035
1674530
3060560
6030560

11329  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Russia's Finance Ministry Wants to Ban Bitcoin on: November 28, 2015, 03:49:09 PM
Though bitcoin regulation remains a divisive topic globally, there's perhaps no country that has kept the international bitcoin community guessing about the digital currency's future more than Russia.

You can see here full thing : http://www.coindesk.com/russia-ban-bitcoin-not-blockchain/
I'm not sure what you guys think about this , but I know that this is going to be a big loss for Bitcoin (mostly on the price part probably ) .

11331  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is Bitgold Legit & Paying Now? on: November 28, 2015, 03:09:18 PM
I saw that topic about someone saying that BitGold is a scam , I tried it and I have to say it's not the case for me .
I never deposited on their website all gold I have there is totally from referrals (legit referrals) and they got confirmed after 60 days (that period get lower when the referrals are better or something , not sure) , Once they was pending for 60 days and got confirmed I sold them and it was pretty simple and without issues .
So if you are afraid to give your Bank account Information's or something else then you can simply sell it on the forums (Bitcointalk) for BTC or other payment methods , but note that the rates will be lower . (like 50% off)
11332  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: so when does the blocksize increase january ? on: November 27, 2015, 03:23:58 PM
I thought people forgot about that XT thing , well XT is dead man ... and you can tell just by looking at the statistics here : http://xtnodes.com/ (nodes and miners) . As far as I know for Core there will be a blocksize debate or something on December and they may decide what happens next but it have nothing to do with XT .
11333  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: 5M wallets created on Blockchain on: November 27, 2015, 03:21:36 PM
Number of wallets created doesn't mean anything , some of them are bots only , some of them are people who lost their accounts with time and created new ones so it doesn't really mean anything at all .
So basically , Unlike Paypal and other payment methods .. It's impossible to indicate the real number of users of bitcoin .
11334  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading BTC on: November 27, 2015, 11:28:21 AM
I am a keen trader with regards to financial derivatives, mainly futures and options, thus I am keen to explore trading BTC. Does anyone know if there is an open source platform for trading BTC that allows for fundamental and technical analysis. I would be keen to explore any algorithmic trading strategies and explore how they are implemented.

Thanks

I opened a long position at $325 and set a limit order at $360. I used 1 btc and 10:1 leverage how did I only end up profiting 0.1 btc. Can someone explain? (Used magnr exchange)

You may want to see this : https://magnr.com/how-it-works or contact their support and ask for help .

how much are the fee there?, and never heard of that exchange they could be scammers

and no , they are not a scam as far as I know . If I remember right they are both saving (you earn 2.18% interest a year or something) and trading as-well and they was known as BTC.sx before .
11337  Other / Meta / Re: Selling accounts on this forum is correct or not on: November 27, 2015, 07:32:26 AM
There is a topic here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1263526.0;topicseen - basically some DT has given red repo for selling accounts on this forum.

But forum rules never say one shouldn't sell accounts.

But some DT (default trust) members things it is not correct but they do not have any good reason to stop account selling but they are thinking or believing people can scam with brought accounts.

But majority of the forum members thinks, just by giving red trust to account sellers will not solve the issue permanently. Scamming is a different topic

Now what you think whether account selling should be allowed in this forum or not?

Just say Yes or No.

I personally think they should be allowed to sell in the forums however ... giving negative trust sometimes may help because it really depends on the intention of the buyer ... the main purpose is probably signature accounts but we see that people ask for positive trust when they buy and then .. you know it's more then likely not for sig campaigns but it's for scamming people so it really depends ..

EDIT : I just voted but why I can't see the results or anything on the poll ?

11339  Economy / Speculation / Re: 360$ , what going on ? on: November 27, 2015, 07:04:13 AM
From the minute I made this topic , the price started to go down and down and now it's back to 351$ , for a second I thought it some kind of market manipulation which I hope it's not .
according to http://bitcoinblackfriday.info/ we are 55 minutes away from the Black friday , I hope price will increase more and more after it .
11340  Economy / Speculation / 360$ , what going on ? on: November 26, 2015, 01:04:39 PM
So what's going on , just yesterday when I came back form school I checked preev and it was like 325$ or something like that , and now I checked once again and the price seem to be 360$~ .
In your opinion , what exactly caused this ? and is it going to continue like it did before till it reach 500$ or something near that .
