Monero is only the vehicle for the next phase of the cypherpunk/crypto-anarchist/radical capitalist/anti-authoritarian r3VOLution.

Cheesy Some of us openly have government jobs (despite being small potato peons) and have security clearances to worry about, so as a matter of record I personally would strongly disagree with all of those statements.  Call it whatever you like though, fortunately math is not a matter of opinion.  Cool

I personally believe we will see $2,000 Moneros by 2020, possibly a little higher.  I think $20,000 Moneros come before 2025, and $200,000 Moneros come before 2030.  These time tables might move a lot faster depending on a variety of factors.  I think that I can see what Monero's 'fractal shape' might be though... and well,  Roll Eyes

Really? Your government doesn't give you the right to free speech, assembly the formation of militia and the power to change it by committee?  Which one is it? Was it formed by the blood of patriots in a revolution against a oppressive dictatorship by any chance?

i friggin hate reddit sometimes. Impossible to easily find where the latest is on that friggin thread.

I completely agree! Just following that conversation was a serious PITA.

Craptsy always has held deposits and fucked arbitrage. Using them is retarded and only insiders profit.

And now they are crasshing and taking everyone with them. Should be out of the us by now or their looking at jail time.
11345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 15, 2015, 08:32:05 PM

As for your three in a row correct presidential predictions.. that's pretty impressive AP. Did you call those predictions during the primaries, or when the two final candidates are duking it out?

Four in a row, but I confess I didn't call them all in the primaries.  George Bush was a lucky guess in my youth.  His reelection was based off feeling the pulse of the country, just as my prediction of the Republican's defeat at the hands of Obama.

When Obama was up for reelection, I confess I took a look at the British odds sites and immediately saw Obama favored at 5:1 over Romney.  And sure enough, despite what the media tried to spin, Obama won by a landslide.

This election, I would trust those same betting sites again when it comes down to it.

I foresaw Bush winning, and us invading Iraq during the primaries v/s Gore. Voted Perot but knew it was a symbolic gesture. Picking Pres winner before hand was exceedingly simple the last few decades.

Damn this thread goes off topic alot. I think Perot would speculate on Monero. Cheesy

I had to come back to post something very important. Seems Monero is attempting to duplicate my invention. I will be posting this on the Ion thread as well.

The brand new Ring Confidential Transactions for Monero appears to me to be broken:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/3oi16k/ring_ct_for_monero_a_work_in_progress_comments/cvzval5

P.S. my health is not going well. I am pretty much giving on trying any therapies (because nothing works and I've tried "everything") until and if ever I can afford the best research specialists doing diagnostics on me. So don't expect too much from me. But I am still trying. I did run 9 kilometers in the past 2 days but today was a total Chronic Fatigue day bed ridden.

Oh I am still retired from this forum. The above required my posting.

Is it time to draft anonymint into the xmr dev team as a consultant? Can someone explain what this is about?

First off this is the wrong thread for this, second let him do his own thing. He doesn't work well with others.

He has given some good advice though, perhaps there is a workaround :-)

Your assuming he is correct.

I've met Aubrey several times actually. Cool dude! I've also been in attendance at the first Singularity Summit in SF back in 2006. It seems to me we are now in the first part of the "knee of the curve" of Kurzweil's exponential (law of accelerating returns). The steep part of the knee of the curve should come once some of these experiments with deep learning and machine learning advance further. These advancements in AI is what will fuel the breakthroughs in aging and nanotechnology in the the mid to late 2020's. We may get to super intelligent AI's by the mid 2030s.

By 2020 I'm thinking 1 XMR to be worth 0.2 BTC

I wonder how these super-intelligent AIs in 2035 will value XMR vs BTC.

Super intelligent AI will be smart enough not to try to independently value things. It will understand that value is subjective. Therefore, I guess it will just trade with the most liquid currency that it can get its hands on. But if humans try to cheat the AI and steal money from it (because government fiat can be seized and invalidated) then it will be forced to use cryptocurrency because a super intelligent AI can safely hold cryptocurrency and store it encrypted in the cloud without fear of losing it to humans.

So I'm kind of lost... Why would AI's value XMR or BTC? What do cryptocurrencies possess that would make AI's want to acquire them?  I feel like if humans were to be able to make an AI, I wouldn't want it to walk around or conduct any business.. I would just want it to sit there and, I guess, think for me?  Idk, I wasn't really into SciFi stuff when I was a kid.

The ideal use for an AI is to answer questions we cannot the horrifying possibility is it thinking for us.

I'm thinking in 2020 BTC may be worth the same as confederate fiat.
11350  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 13, 2015, 12:09:07 AM

Started to read, realized I'm too stupid to follow it. Hope it is what's it's purported to be. Smiley

...

But wouldn't this give a Mt. Gox effect on the prices of all altcoins?  If people on Polo were on the inside, and maybe be using to pump some prices of altcoin, maybe Monero, wouldn't it have some kind of negative effect?  Not only that, but in a years time there will be another site that would do basically the same things?  It just seems like exchange sites are always dealt with some type of shady business.

If Gox had been investigated earlier maybe it would not have got so out of hand.

BTW I was a huge fan of POLO until they pulled that compliance thing without much notice. Now I barley use any exchanges.
11351  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 12, 2015, 09:29:34 PM
no they can not guarantee to pay back the money, but if liquidity is there it should work out. i normally do not lend out money too, but since i planned to buy the coins back anyway + the rate was 2% i could not resist.
but it did not work out, next time i wont hesitate.

i do think the over all short position is still there, yesterday we just saw the bot having an issue. if he continues on margin we will see soon enough i guess

and now there are so many offers below 1%, this is really not what i wanted but yeah, market will solve it  Roll Eyes

poloniex's policy on not publishing the data is criminal. it gives a huge atvantage not only to them, but to the rich ones, since they can afford to lend out money (and know how much there is to squeeze) + manipulate the market at the same time.

this is a real issue. i have mentioned this many times to polo, but without any success. they promised to implement it a very long time ago.

regarding eth: remember, they are located in switzerland, this sure plays a role too (developer ~140-220k p.a. / office ~160-260 per m2 p.a, prices in CHF) btw. i agree, they spent it unwise, it seems like that at least

Since Polo is conforming so easily with regulations and our private information I'm sure a call from Any states attorney generals office on "why that info is insider knowledge only" would get a quick response. Wink

I've found that office to be of use when dealing with corporations in the past, amazing what one call from them can accomplish. Smiley
11352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 12, 2015, 04:31:12 PM
edit: found it, example here:

XMR   -   Lending Earning   2.0000%   208.92286763   15%   0.15301665 XMR   2015-10-11 18:08:58

i dont get it...looks like Hour or even minute based?

Yeah its pro-rated on some pretty frequent basis. In that example you've earned 0.15 already

Thats BULLSHIT!!!!  You can kill a coin with no min fee. What if he had access to and borrowed 500k for 1 minute?
11353  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 12, 2015, 03:25:46 PM
yesterday was funny. i can clearly say this guy was very lucky, because it was clearly an accident and i did hesistate too long. his bot went crazy and it nearly cost him his shirt.

he started building  up his offers, in total i gave him around 20k @ 2%. everything he got was immediately put on the asks, i could clearly see that this was a bot going crazy.
i wanted to buy my own coins i gave to him with a big market buy to really fuck him, but my btc deposit was not fast enough.

at the point he realized his bot went crazy, he removed all the asks and returned all the lended money.

you can be very lucky my friend, next time this kind of move will cost you  a lot of money.
today in the morning i was happy i did not destroy him, everyone makes mistakes. it would have hurt if it was me and i am sure it was an accident.

i hope you do not need to lose all your money first to realize that this was very dangerous. never do it again if you like your money.

I wish you had nailed the fucker! TC?

Did Craptsy ever get an real volume?

Many of us warned against that exchange.

that doesn't work. The knight is defended by the bishop.

thx, I missed that. then I guess we move the knight back, still not sure why we retreated it in the first place.

You guys can remove my vote.

wooow there are 3 sherlock holmes here(but they don't have a proof). @americanpegasus, @onemorexmr and @opennux... congratulations  guys but you are all wrong Grin But it s ok for me coz I 've already knew that monero community don't have a brain hohoh Cheesy If i were you guys i would do something to save Monero fall instead of Trolling.

If I were you I would try to comprehend that one persons actions do not represent that of an entire community. I'm not trolling.

Yeah you are right. but XMR community have many trolls (icebreaker, smoothie etc.) . icebreaker and smoothie are embarrassment to the community. They dont help the XMR, they just fud other coins.
I don't mind any crypto currency besides Bitcoin. I am just a day trader. You have to put a collor on your legendary dogs.

With DASH crashing and burning the DASH trolls are really coming out of the woodwork.

woah I just seeing this now, DASH is crashing bad thats why so many attacks on Monero, smooth and AEON.

I'm surprised it took so long, delusion is a strong obstacle to overcome when money is invested.

Rad1

We could let the pawn unprotected for this moment. I think if we don't do this he could play Nxe4 and then he destroys our position.

I think this is the best of the worst choices. I certainly don't see a better move and it's long past time those rooks get into action.

I'm pissed I didn't have any BTC avail when the dump hit. Sad still waiting on fucking coinbase slow train to hell.
