Paying $18+ per GH today hoping someone dumber than you will pa $20 is well stupid.
I humbly disagree. Why is that stupid if the probability of that event is high? Current price on CEX.io (expressed in USD) is $22.64, currently I've put a buy order for all BTC I have there on $18.89. Many times already happens that I buy 5% cheaper and sell 5-10% more. Don't get why do you think my current buy order is stupid? Why not go to Crypsty, if what you want to do is trade? The difference with cex ghash shares is that they are guaranteed to fall in value, in terms of the BTC/day they generate. Price may not have caught up with that fall in value yet, but eventually it must. so it is not profitable to be short and not to discuss  |

the problem is that they have a pre-order for everything before its built... if it wasnt pre-ordering, id consider it! but a company should not put all of the risk that comes with being an investor of a volatile industry on the buyer
stop buying pre-orders of any mining hardware! or dont complain if you get fucked, because your buying a non existant product

How many days does pre-order come before it's in the stores?
If it's the same day, why don't we just buy from stores???
If pre-orders are sold out, than it's likely that there won't be many unreserved consoles on the shelf for some time. Pretty common thing, can't believe you haven't heard of it. Was that way with the 360, wii, and the PS3 I think. Hm, well I never actually bought the console the day it came out. Would that be for all stores? Besides, I could wait a few days, I wouldn't pay extra for that :p well, i thing that it is good thing to wait not because of money but because of OS/firmware bugs.. This is xbox, you mean hardware bugs. Buy a PC, and mine with it on your downtime. Play games with real graphics. Screw this console garbage.  agree |

I'd bet it never really touched BTC at all.
Chances are a new investor wanted to get into mining and had $1m. They wanted to order from BFL but have to pay in BTC. So Bitpay 'sell' the BTC to the customer, pass it to BFL who sell it back into USD via Bitpay (can't pay the real bills with BTC).
Net result, no external trades, no risk and lots of great PR all-round.
I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but I'd put this at 60% likelihood.. I am a conspiracy theorist and I proclaim this scheme to be a rational idea which might very well have been implemented by the involved parties. agree with you but maybe there will be some changes |
