Waiting for the other game to end. But I think I am going to lose it because the Raptors are up by 9. Time of writing.
Did you also have the Bulls spread? They got us in the first half.  Tongue

I expected them to keep cruising after they were up by double digits in the second quarter, but the Raptors showed signs of life during the second half and started to go on a few small runs until the Bulls couldn't stop the shift in momentum.

Is there anyway to help this person? I have given some advice to start using small percentage of the whole salary and safe the rest but still couldn't, and I don't want to help him to hold his money for him, he is over 28 years old, not a underage.

He have gotten used to this way because he started gambling all by himself and he won some money but end up even fuelling his addiction. What is next? Any tip?
That person needs to start by excluding himself from the casinos he's using and initiate instead of falling through that cycle.

I also agree with the others about him getting some professional help because that's probably his best shot at solving his addiction if he can't do it on his own.

Maybe it's worth bringing up the issue with his family members if that's what it takes for him to listen and start fixing his addiction.

Aren't team news, injuries, and other match details usually openly available on the internet and through sports bookies for gamblers to use when placing bets?. Also, do these officials typically place their bets through sports bookies or among themselves?
You're correct that it's available for everyone. The downside is that it's not frequently updated, and it could take time for teams to officially announce significant changes (usually before kickoff) that could swing the tides of the betting markets.

One of the posts above already mentioned that most of the leagues have these rules in place, and here is a list of players who got caught doing sports betting.

Might just combine NA and SA all together as well as MENA probably with other asia region
I've seen that format used in one of the LoL qualifiers for Worlds, where they merged two regions(Oceania/SEA), and it ended with the slightly better region filling the two slots.

That'll depend on the ESL organizers now that Valve already stepped back from handling most of the tournaments.

Going with the other regions, they're done except with South America as they're starting out as of typing this and the grand finals is with Heroic and Boom Esports. I just noticed that the beastcoast we used to know have already changed their roster.

Western Europe's representative for this qualifier is Tundra Esports, they've ended the match against OG with a class.  Grin
Yup, beastcoast isn't the same anymore and they ran out of options now that the other orgs like Heroic and Boom got the better players.

That WEU final was unexpected, I thought it would be another tournament secured for OG, but they got outdrafted in the first two games and lost the fourth game with one bad team fight.

With the EPL returning from their long break due to international play hopefully we will see some specials available due to the big matches coming up later on today running all week long.
We got an EPL daily special for the Aston Villa vs. Newcastle match.  Cheesy

Aston Villa should win the match, but I hope Newcastle can at least make a goal to force the home favorites to score twice and hit the daily special @2.20 decimal odds.

EPL is back today after the fa cup break and i love a parlay of arsenal + crystal palace to win today for about 2.45 odds
That's a good multibet, Crystal Palace is up against a struggling Sheffield United side with only 2 draws in their last 5 road matches, and Arsenal will probably overwhelm Nottingham Forest plus they've lost four of the last five home matches.
1146  Other / Off-topic / Re: You can not win if you do not risk on: January 30, 2024, 03:07:49 PM
and the important thing here is when a gambler can not risk he also can not win, true or false?
Many might still believe that a gamblers who's just gambling at the first day might end up winning w huge amount of money that he wasn't expecting but the truth is that as long as you stake on bet you have already risk your money, be it big or small.
That is true. You always have to put your money on the line and take the risk of winning and losing if you want to walk away with winnings from the casino.

What gambling period are we in? The gambling industry doesn't care about its customers. They want to stay in business and remaining profitable is their sole purpose. They want to make money every time all day that is their period.
I slightly agree with you, but casinos still need to show that they care at a certain level because gamblers can quickly shift their interest to a more competitive casino that offers better features and listens to their customers.

Clippers win streak is over, Mitchell and the hot Cavaliers were able to defend their home court. I was not able to post my pick here but I was on the other side (Cavaliers) as I figured out that everyone was so hype with what the Clippers did to the Celtics who have a very good home record, but they probably forgot that this team Cavaliers is also one of the hottest teams now that jus recently beat the Bucks on the road.
Congrats on winning your Cavs bet.  Smiley

It was back and forth during the first half, but the Clippers started to collapse in the second half, while the Cavs began to pull away at the end of the third when they kept landing their shots on every single possession.

It got interesting in the last few minutes when the Clippers cut the lead down to four, but the Cavs got right back to scoring anyway.

Final day of LEC week 3 is starting right now and below are the matchups-
The BDS match was interesting, they somehow got their second loss against the weakest team in the league, and KC only started to wake up after they were out of the playoffs.  Tongue

NA for Dota 2 has already have their representive for the ESL One and that's Shopify Rebellion, more arteezy games there.  Grin
It was another close series between them and Nouns.

Check out the roster of the Klim Sani4 and they're unknown folks but managed to get the slot and beat good teams like Virtus.Pro.
That team and VP could be the next third-best team in EEU ever since 9Pandas lost most of their players.

That was quite a Detroit way to lose the game, decent lead abd half time and they blow their chances to play in the superbowl
Even their coach apparently said that this was their best chance of a shot at winning the superbowl 😳

Detroit fans only get pain from their teams 😂
The decision to go for it instead of kicking to tie the game was unfortunate. They also did it in one of their previous matches, so i'm not surprised they went for the same risky play.

On the other hand, that second-half comeback from the 49ers was unreal and I saw their live odds shoot up by 3.00+ during the half thinking it was already over.  Tongue
1150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: January 30, 2024, 12:05:10 AM
Cleveland Cavaliers - Los Angeles Clippers - Los Angeles Clippers (-1.5) Both are hot teams, this will be exciting to watch. 8 winning streak is the longest of the Cavs until they are stopped by the Bucks.
I'm also taking the hotter team since they took out one of the best home teams in their last match and that's more than enough for me to trust them in this spot.

The bad news for us is that the Cavs will have Mobley back in their lineup, and I guess that's why we're getting closer odds, even though the Clippers have been beating better teams.

I noticed that we have the unusual NBA daily specials for today and it's between the Nuggets and the Bucks.

I took the NBA champs to win the half and game @2.15 since they're playing at home and the Bucks have been mostly getting their losses on the road (9/14).

The odds are still this high because the Nuggets aren't a team that always takes the lead at the end of the first half unlike the Boston Celtics and Orlando Magic.

Edit: The special came short as the Nuggets had a slow start and couldn't get the lead at the end of the half.
1152  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are every activities/competitions with stake known to be gambling? on: January 29, 2024, 03:13:52 PM
Are sports games or related competitive activities which stakes are involved between both sides or teams also gambling?
As the others have mentioned already. It should still count as gambling even if we're referring to other kinds of stakes aside from money since there are people and betting shops who would take those alternative bets as long as the stake holds some monetary value.

I remember we had a few threads about this specific situation and there was a case about a gambler who decided to bet his wife on the line.
1153  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: January 29, 2024, 03:48:58 AM
I've been watching some of the ESL Birmingham qualifier matches recently and I thought it would be worth a shot to ride the wave of these two good teams (OG and Quest) with a combined 2.025 decimal odds.

The map handicaps aren't available for the MENA match, so I settled with the series winner on PSG.Quest to increase the payout of my multibet. I still don't trust Nigma Galaxy to take the upset, as they had a close series against Winter Bear, who had a stand-in.

Edit: Cashed the bet as both favorites had a clean 2-0 win.  Cheesy

I've also lost several parlays by taking NBA favs so I can relate to that kind of loss, and I agree that the top NBA teams this season are becoming overvalued by the bookies. You can't blindly add it in a parlay and hope it'll be an automatic win like in the previous seasons.

I wouldn't say tennis is one of the safest overall because the WTA matches would make you change your mind.  Wink
1155  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When I'm emotional, I LOSS! on: January 29, 2024, 12:47:15 AM
If so, has anyone here been able to solve this kind of problem themselves, and if yes, how did you do it?
My solution to holding off those emotions while being in a losing situation is to lower my gambling budget and learn when to stop for the day.

If you've been through the same problem several times already, you have to understand that reacting to your losses would only cause more damage to your bankroll if you continue. It might take a while before you can adapt to a small bankroll, but it's worth going through if you'll be less attached to all of your losses.

Mahomes does it again as the Chiefs beat the Ravens and secure their spot in the Super Bowl.  Cheesy

I missed the pre-live on the Chiefs earlier, but still took my chances on their live handicap (-6.5) during the half, and I have to say that i'm lucky that it cashed because the Ravens had a lot of chances to get a TD during the second half.

While checking the lines for the Niners and Lions match, I saw a bit of a leak going on.  Wink

Another grand finals curse for Geek Fam. I was really impressed with their run but it seems that they've fallen short to this ESL One Birmingham journey.
I guess the lower bracket momentum is no joke from the side of Talon and winning it all starting from the lower bracket is indeed impressive. The odds even favored Geek Fam, and I saw their odds hovering around 1.30 before the match started. I was close to including them in my parlay, but i'm lucky that I missed it due to the late markets.

Yes, isn't it quite funny a pro-tournament playing team such as BiG loses to these lower tiered teams like Nexus.
Then again, that was the RMR qualifiers, so i'm not surprised that we get to see a few new teams go all out and shock well-known teams like BIG.

1159  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What You will do in this situation? on: January 28, 2024, 01:57:27 AM
Besides that, I just feel that if he deposited $10 = IDR 150,000 into a gambling site just to play slots, he would probably suffer a complete loss. But if he can place bets on sports betting, there is a possibility of him winning some money on small bets. Wouldn't that be an advantage for him?

If you were in this situation, what would you do? Introduce him to sports betting or let him stick to playing slots. Yesterday, I just let it go but we still often meet at other activities.
That complete loss can still happen with sports betting regardless of the advantage you can find from the players and the teams because luck can still affect the match where you'd unexpectedly see underdogs win on certain days.

I'd still suggest it anyway, he'll eventually find out about sports betting now that most casinos have a sportsbook and could enjoy it more than playing casino games. I wouldn't be surprised if he already knows about it but still chose slots.

Funny how BIG went from losing to Nexus ( a fresh CS2 team from Romania ) , then beating Heroic on edge and today beating C9 too. It seems that disband pressure is real and they want to go as deep as they can in the Blast Major but personally , I still think they lack strategy and don't know how to play important moves but also check on time as well while they doing it... Embarrassed
I also didn't expect BIG to eliminate C9 the other day and thought maybe the stomping loss they got from VP broke them.

Poor Blacklist Rivalry, they've lost the first map against Execration. It's funny that Palos came from Execration then moved with Kuku to Team Darleng and now with Blacklist but they keep on losing against these teams.

I'm having this feeling that Geek Fam is going to get this one slot for the SEA.
That only means Blacklist Rivalry has more problems aside from the position 1 department, and they can't underestimate the OQ teams.

I agree Geek Fam should qualify since they have been solid even in the previous qualifier, where they fell short against AR.
