1141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think might be holding back Bitcoin's success? on: January 09, 2016, 06:02:07 PM
The comparison has been made before that Bitcoin is like the internet - in its infancy the internet was looked at as fringe and a great place to play solitare.  Many said the internet would not be a factor.  Bitcoin is similar at this time, still associated with illegal activities by mainstream.

My answer is press.  2015 was an improvement and we should see that continue.
1142  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Looking to start an opensource team. on: January 09, 2016, 02:25:24 AM
UI is my biggest problem.  Zero design skills. Sad

I am the opposite, not so great at backend - great with graphics, colors, placement, navigation, etc.  Would be nice to be full stack but not.
1143  Economy / Services / Re: WEBDESIGNERS / FRONT END DEVELOPERS - HIGH PAY on: January 09, 2016, 12:16:16 AM
This is the most suspicious hiring post in the whole world

I am afraid to click on the link and also afraid of "HIGH PAY"  Shocked
1144  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Looking to start an opensource team. on: January 09, 2016, 12:05:48 AM
If you still need anyone for front end, UI, or CSS let me know.
1145  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin worth to you or not... on: January 08, 2016, 11:59:10 PM
It would seem that everyone on this message board thinks that Bitcoin is worth it, why else would we be here?  Yes, it is worth it to me - not only for the potential monetary gain but also for what it means for the entire world.  Believing in Bitcoin is worth it to me.
1146  Economy / Economics / Re: If bitcoin price is $10.000, will fiat be worthless? on: January 08, 2016, 11:00:59 PM
Kind of a trick question because fiat is already worthless.  It used to be backed by gold and is no longer, as well as being printed and printed.  If Bitcoin is 10,000 it means it is on the way to becoming global currency.
1147  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Name the Year You Became Aware of Crypto Currency on: January 08, 2016, 10:12:09 PM
became aware in 2011 - sadly I ignored it for 3 years  Huh
1148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Noob- Help needed! on: January 08, 2016, 10:10:50 PM
The security of exchanges and wallets has improved over the years and nothing ventured nothing gained.  Fear is not something to operate on, good decisions usually don't come from it.  Start with a small amount and go to a big trusted wallet like Coinbase or others suggested on this forum.
1149  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to motivate women to use Bitcoin? on: January 08, 2016, 10:08:37 PM
It really doesn't matter if women use it or not.

I would think it might be since they are 50% of the population. Getting women on board will be essential to full adoption.
1150  Economy / Services / Re: buy anything in fiverr , only $ 2 on: January 08, 2016, 08:13:20 PM
Tremendously low price, what is up with all of these low prices for everything lately?  Are we in a deflationary period?
1151  Economy / Economics / Re: How many BTC will make you a fiat millionaire in 5 years? on: January 08, 2016, 07:48:27 PM
Could be 10 or it could be 100 or more.  Who knows but it is going to be a wild ride.  In the end it is all about what you are comfortable with without taking too much risk.
1152  Economy / Economics / Re: Big Crash coming on: January 08, 2016, 07:29:34 PM
Hail fellow Cryptonians, I Copenman am your brother from the year 2069.. Yes its true I have returned to you in this thread to let you all know what is to become of BTC and crypto that you so antagonize over in the year 2016.  Besides the obvious discover of time travel, your futures you may be assured are not as volatile as you currently believe, (well besides the great cyrpto war of 2019, but i digress).  Now many factors of the future you may find strange, however cyrpto continues to grow and rise throughout the globe, so much so that in 2018 cyrpto becomes a nation, entirely existing within a virtual world developed by Everett P Munstacheo.  In 2019 The Global Union Of Cyrpto (GUC) succeeds from the world and in order to stop corporate and government greed launches an all out offensive against all the financial superpowers.  This event is now known as the Great War To End All, the war lasted exactly 42 minutes and 18 seconds.  Seeing as all the corporations and governments failed to account for the fact that there adoption of Block Chain, something politicians and corporate executives have no idea how it actually functions, was created by the same people who kept their infrastructure operational (the war actually was really only 0.006 seconds, unfortunately we had to wait for 4 confirmations before the transaction was successful, that and the fact Singpays was on PD gambling and forgot to press enter).  So what we saw was like a scene from Fight Club, the worlds corrupt corporations and governments all imploded however no one knew because the first rule of fight club is ....  So the future is bright, we found Jimmy Hoffa's body, the NSA is now required to provide all traffic guard services globally, people are free to do and say as they please with out government oversight and corporate manipulation.  FireFly was brought back with new episodes, DOGE was banned and anyone seen discussing it was labeled special and made to go learn what real cyrpto is, and BTC is currently at $6000..............DAMMIT UnixPunk stop hacking me and writing this shit!  LMAO

I really like the part about FireFly and new episodes!  The Mustache man sounds interesting as well.  Exciting times you speak of - A+ for creativity.
1153  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Xapo's all mobile apps suddenly dissappeared on Google Play? on: January 08, 2016, 06:42:35 AM
Yea I noticed that too. They have their own appstore now where you can download their bitcoin apps. Maybe because their apps have a purchase option which is I think against google play tos.

Took me awhile to figure this out too, I contacted support and they were very responsive and directed me to their website where you can download directly.

You have to make sure the option to download from unknown sources is checked on your android though or it will not work.

I love these apps - great developers, I use them whenever I am in traffic, on the bus, taking a walk, or just plain bored.
1154  Economy / Speculation / Re: The current bitcoin price increase won't be a pump and dump. Do you agree? on: January 08, 2016, 05:34:38 AM
I do believe it's not another pump and dump. It's playing around 430-460$ . Nothing to worry about.
Agreed! The price is quite stable recently! The selling and buying come to balance!

Double agreed, it has been pretty quiet for several weeks - maybe indicating a strong price.  There will be volatility but not sure about pump and dump opportunities in the future.
1155  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it a good long term investment to buy 1 BTC today? on: January 08, 2016, 05:07:10 AM
Bitcoin is here to stay. We have seen this and should have some trust now.

The price is just 1 thing, just how look bitcoin is making companies like paypal and western union scared.

That's enough for me.
bitcoin is a threat, not just to paypal and western union, but also for fiat money,
once bitcoin just as investment and payment options, but in the future, bitcoin will be the currency in use by the whole world

This.  It is a threat to many established financial institutions and online payment processors. Bitcoin and/or crypto currencies like it will be the main form of money. Having 1 today is a great goal, it could one day be worth 10 to 100 times that, who knows.
1156  Economy / Economics / Re: The Halving - Good or Bad for Bitcoin? on: January 08, 2016, 04:50:18 AM
The halving is good because it was part of the design.

The coins also become more rare so that is good also.

Fees may increase but that is to be expected.

All good by my standards.

1157  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Stock Markets AROUND THE WORLD are crashing .... What will BTC do? on: January 08, 2016, 04:16:50 AM
Goddamn it!!!  Every time the markets crash I'm stuck without cash to buy any stocks with.  I think I'm going to start putting some aside and stop buying bitcoin for a while, because I suspect the stock market is going to drop a lot more before we see the end of this.  It was down again today, and if this keeps going we're going to have a bleak 2016--but stocks will be cheaper!

Don't know about bitcoin, though.  Has anyone actually done any econometrics with it, e.g., figured out how it moves with relation to the stock market or bond market or any others?  I'd be very curious.

Why would you buy stocks when they are crashing? Way to catch a falling knife to be honest. It's just best to stay all in on Bitcoin, what tells you that when you buy those stocks which looks like a good buy, they will not continue falling?

Now DOW futures are up triple digits and the Hang Seng is recovering.  Impossible to predict this.
1158  Economy / Services / Re: Make me a website and earn 0.01 BTC on: January 08, 2016, 12:47:06 AM
This is a joke right?  Not to many developers willing to create a website for that.  Maybe a banner or small graphic.
1159  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcointalk Account price estimator on: January 08, 2016, 12:45:32 AM
This is a cool tool.  One time I did not have to wait at all and another I had 26 in que ahead of me.  How is quality of posts determined?
1160  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: -then and now - art on: January 07, 2016, 11:13:29 PM
