Thanks for this.

Compiling on Linux / OSX wouldn't be a problem for me but my only nVidia is on Windows right now... would definitely be interested in a Windows binary.
1142  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official BITMINE CoinCraft series 28nm ASIC miners thread on: January 08, 2014, 04:08:25 PM
Prices are set in USD

You will get refunds in USD... they convert BTC into cash to keep their budget predictable with factory expenses etc. It makes sense...

And think the other way round: if BTC falls back to 200, you will still get what you paid in USD, no loss.

In other words, when you buy a miner with BTC you convert Bitcoin into cash.
1143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] The First Litecoin PPS Pool (litecoinpool.org) on: January 08, 2014, 12:13:21 PM
Yes, it's working fine again now, thank you
1144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] The First Litecoin PPS Pool on: January 08, 2014, 10:34:41 AM
I have noticed that it's no longer possible to toggle the e-mail alert checkbox in the worker list.

Any idea why? Is the problem on my side or server side? Thanks.

PS: I would suggest adding 'litecoinpool.org' somewhere inside the title of this topic. I tried to search for 'litecoinpool.org' and couldn't find it. I had to go to the website, and use the 'Forum' link from there.

As soon as ASIC for scrypt kicks in i will switch to something ASIC resistant. Would love to see a coin that uses our CPU power for something benefitial, but something truly benefitial, not like finding primenumbers. Something like finding cancer cure.

You should have a look at Gridcoin

(the site looks a bit weird at the moment, just scroll down)
1146  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Moving Forward/Resolution Process on: January 08, 2014, 08:28:17 AM
is it possible to follow the route of my bitcoins ( I send to weex) when i look at the blockchain?

Yes it is. What you will find is a tree of addresses (outputs) that spans always more branches...

"Is it possible to interpret the data and find out where it's gone?"

Hardly, but you can try Wink

Bitcoin is a very long time in the ass, while there will be such a disappointment and deception miners on pre-order.

look here ASIC Manufacturer HashFast Faces Legal Action From Bitcoin Miners http://www.coindesk.com/asic-manufacturer-hashfast-faces-legal-action  Cheesy  Wink

You must be new here...

BFL has screwed their pre-order customers from day #1,
ASICMiner has disappointed their shareholders from Gen2,
Avalon has screwed their pre-order customers from Batch #2,
BitFury have been so hard to get that you'd better CEX.io,
HashFast has been a screwup as you say yourself,
KnC miner did better than others, but they're expensive, some are catching fire etc.
Bitmine and CoinTerra have yet to deliver.

tl;dr: Money making machines aren't readily available.

+1 Cheesy

"Mr Bitcoin" made a new appearance later, although not wrt Bitcoin this time.
1151  Local / Mining et Hardware / Re: Utilité du minage on: January 05, 2014, 05:51:26 PM
Hello,

I'm curious if the Alpha Technology scrypt asic rig is actually a real thing or just some scam to get peoples pre-order $

No idea about how serious or scammish it is, but there's something that must be kept in mind in the CPU/GPU/FPGA vs ASIC question:

Imagine a new altcoin coming up (think DOGE*), but with a slightly modified scrypt algo (think Jane...), or a new one (i.e. XPM, QRK...)

  • CPU/GPU miners just need to update the mining software,
  • FPGA miners need to reprogram their FPGA,
  • ASIC miners need to replace/upgrade (at least partly) their hardware!

* not implying that DOGE is the alt coin of the future...
1156  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How many newbies are mining? on: January 05, 2014, 06:12:20 AM
I am very sad because heard about crypto world too late.
My top grafic card that i bought in 2010 - now not so strong for mining, hell, i wish i knew about mining in 2010-2011.
however, i am started mining some day ago and i hope to upgrade my pc with moneys from mining, hope that my pc doesn't die from 24/7 mining. lol
don't have extra money to do upgrade immediatly, so only hope old card will work until i get new card.
Old card will help me to buy new card? unbelievable ))
only must choose right coins to mine..

Cheer up guys, it's NOT too late!

Mass adoption is not there yet: you still can't fund your PayPal account with BTC, you still can't exchange BTC/USD on institutional platforms, you still can't checkout your Amazon order with BTC, etc. BUT IT'S COMING!

As an early adopter, I would simply suggest any newbie here to buy or mine at least 1 BTC. I'm pretty sure it will get you at least a nice sports car in a few years.

*MARK MY WORDS*

1158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: January 04, 2014, 04:21:08 AM
I've been looking at the top 100 Quark wallets and notice we have new top 100 Quark holders.
http://bitinfocharts.com/top-100-richest-quarkcoin-addresses.html

Many of these addresses are probably shared collecting wallet at exchanges like Cryptsy, Coins-E, Vircurex etc

It's always interesting to watch the richest addresses though (and attempt to tag/ID them)
1159  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How many newbies are mining? on: January 04, 2014, 04:15:15 AM
With DOGE falling back to "sane" profitability levels, those who are mining with CPU will be better off with CPU-only coins.

There are currently Primecoin (XPM), Quark (QRK) and Protoshares (PTS), mostly.

MemoryCoin is not really a CPU coin but it has some special features that makes GPU mining less interesting.
1160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 04, 2014, 03:57:59 AM
It may very well be so at the moment, but I thought the Nxt guys never claimed it was ready for mass adoption at this stage?

Am I wrong?

And if you bought NXT early (so did I), it's probably because you believe it has potential, and you know there's a risk of failure as with most investments.
