There is too much anti-china going on, which i suspect it is down to envy because they have cheap electricity...
Damn commies!  Angry

If an exchange is announcing to disable trading for some coins on a specific date I'd expect the trading possibility to end on this day - and not go on for some days.
Perhaps in light of receiving a functional wallet, they aren't sure if they are going to delist it after all (hence leaving "as is" until a final determination is made).
1143  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: July 17, 2017, 08:31:58 PM
What is BMminer?  And why doesn't is show any type of version on that line?
BMminer is Bitmain's S9 version of cgminer and it doesn't show the version on the "Overview" page, because the "Overview" page only shows defaults until the miner is hashing.

P.S. - there are multiple pages to a log (not just the last line).

Bitcoin is already mainstream.

Say what?  Are you from the future or a parallel universe?
The latter.  Undecided

It's confusing that Bittrex announced to remove UNB (and XST as well) on July 14th
How is that "confusing"? It took months before they were given a new wallet (just a few days ago). Of what value is a coin to an exchange if the coin can't be trustfully transferred?
1146  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: July 17, 2017, 08:12:15 PM
Was there ever any conclusion on the error message:

Hardware Version   Socket connect failed: Connection refused

I'm just going to have to break down and send this miner in.  If it's a software thing, I would like to try and work that out before.

I've tried reseting the miner, both through online and pushing the button, and the miner doesn't seem to reset.  Is there a way to ssh into the  miner and reset through there?

Thanks in advance.
You'd have to look at the log; "Socket connect failed: Connection refused" is the default message until the miner is hashing.
1147  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Barry Silbert segwit2x agreement with >80% miner support. on: July 17, 2017, 07:55:07 PM
Segwit is the best possible update Bitcoin can have, followed later by a hf. After that sidechains, that will make Bitcoin mainstream.
Oh, you poor little sheeple; I feel for you.  Kiss

I would like it to stay on Bittrex, but the situation right now is confusing.
What's confusing? The wallet had issues .... It took too long to fix the issues.... Exchanges are allowing trades for x days before they remove it entirely... Simple.

Denial is a very powerful force.

I don't get this, why isn't it removed yet?
What kind of jackwagon wants it removed, ever?  Undecided

Allow me to paraphrase Luke Dashjr and confuse you even more Tongue :
People are only pushing for SegWit2x, and the early adoption of SegWit, in order to delay the adoption of SegWit.  Roll Eyes
Hm, yes, if confusing me was the goal, you achieved it...  Huh
Welcome to the debate and the arguments made in it.  Grin
1152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Barry Silbert segwit2x agreement with >80% miner support. on: July 17, 2017, 03:55:52 PM
Genuine question: Can somebody explain what the problem is?

I thought far above 80% had announced to support SegWit2x already. So it seems like everything will go smoothly, and the problem will be solved soon.

I'm not a newbie, but I don't understand the fine print here. And I'm sure a lot less knowledgeable people are reading this. So maybe one of you super-educated bitcoiners could explain.

Is this for real, this forum is censored???
AFAIK, this is the least censored public venue where pro-Core folks write/post/moderate.

.... BUT it would have to have the support of the Bitcoin Core team.
...The point is that everyone gets a part of what they want, but not entirely 100% what _they_ and only they want.
Those are opposing views Core will only support a thing if Core wants 100% of that thing.  Undecided

ahhahaha... Cheesy Well may I ask why not? Wouldn't you like it if everyone was in the same boat? Did any of the Core members run over your dog or something ? Maybe it's just an idealistic pipe dream that everyone would compromise a bit and do something with minimal fuss.
When something is "only if TeamX supports it", that thing is not likely a "compromise", nor is it likely to be devoid of whatever specific motivations TeamX might have, nor is it decentralized.  Wink

Or you could switch them over to coins that are profitable.  Cool

...Time to ruminate on this news and watch the price charts like a hawk.
I feel like I'm at a $15 poker tournament in Tunica: "All in! Rebuy! All in! Rebuy! All in! Rebuy!"  Tongue

Bitmain tweeted that all their mining pools will switch over to btc1 today. You can follow progress at bitnodes for Satoshi:1.14.3 (beta) or Satoshi:1.14.4 production build.
"Version 1.14.3 (aka 'the first beta')" and 1.14.4 = "production build"?
FFS, we're all doomed.  Undecided

I can't even imagine a world where even an ignorant redneck from Arkansas would, literally, name a build "the first beta" and the next minor revision would be considered a "production build". Roll Eyes
