1141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC] -POW & 3.33% POS | 3 Exchanges | The first POS X11 Anonnymous wallet!! on: May 25, 2014, 04:02:07 PM
Can you guys help me?
I am not understanding whats going on here. I see the price shooting up, congratulations to you big holders, i have a few myself i bought at ten k but i think im going to have to sell them soon cus this doesnt seem natural

the thing i'm not getting, is what does X11 coin offer that other bigger players like darkcoin and monero don't?
I mean i know there are claims of anonymous wallets, none of which I have actually seen, but even if it does happen what makes this better than dak?

not trying to fud, just rying to understand this uncanny rise in price. is it time to sell?

FIRST WALLET TEST

I have alpha anon wallet. I just test it and i will give you some info guys.

I create 2 wallet.dat file from new wallet. I take 0.002 to Dev to Wallet 1. After i send 0.001 to Wallet 2.

WALLET 1 : http://cryptexplorer.com/address/XLM2kz3Wz2ke5YA8pKHsh3EMYszyGKfA4s

TRY TO FIND WALLET 2! I WILL GIVE WALLET 2 ADRESS IN A FEW HOURS.

Yeah man, thanks, but I was kind of wondering what sets it apart from monero and darkcoin. Also, 2 transactions in a wallet does not prove anonymity, am I missing something? Also, if the wallets are anonymous, howcome I can see those transactions?

thanks

Yes but thats not wallet #2 nor does he have the private keys to that wallet shown in the blockchain, but he did receive the coins

yes looking for feedback, we are still tweaking the code in preparation for tonight's release (transactions will be split through a randomizer)

Anyone else not impressed with the website??

I'm certainly not impressed at all, website needs a lot work.... sorry not a priority today.. next week all these loose ends will be taken care of

A request for the whitepaper is extremely important, if he doesn't want to release it then he can at least address my questions regarding his post. His post that makes little sense.

As far as I am concerned, the developer has not achieved what the community believe he has achieved, and now you and the rest of the people here are trying to pump this coin for no reason other than to dump it.

I don't have time for this now, atm

what is that I didn't achieve? this release will provide anonymous mixed transactions, is it 100% anonymous? no its not, can transactions be linked on the blockchain? NO they can't

WINDOWS Mixer Wallet -

this file is password protected - please contact me first for password and how to work - I only need a few testers - you must email me atcsecure@x11coin.org

Thanks

I'd still like to see a whitepaper please, with proper citations. All legitimate anonymous coins have published whitepaper so far. Otherwise it may be considered a scam even though I like the fact that you real identity is known. It is not like shitcoindev etc just serial cloning existing technology.

Have you released other X11 coins before under any other names? Most x11 cloners at least provide links to Darkcoin and cite Evan. He has a real identity too, at least show some courtesy.

I'm not releasing anything today except for functional wallets, I have never released another coin, yes the X11 code is from Darkcoin, and I will gladly note that.. everything is custom developed in house.

once the wallets are released, we can discuss more technical details, I simply don't have the time at the moment, sorry

Hi

Any links to which anonymous implementation is integrated here (Coinjoin/Zero*/CryptoNote etc) or if a new one, is there any whitepaper yet?

This release is pure mixer technology v1.0 - it uses existing supernode concepts, with encrypted data packets... v2.0 will use [removed] and run on top of tor and be 100% anonymous

I will be compiling a beta-gui windows wallet shortly.. and posting a link on this forum for all to download and "test"

He never mentioned Android wallet for the near future...   He has always said it's down the road.

Yup he made it clear that android is not that important.

Its important, just not happening today...

I will be releasing the windows wallet it the next few hours... this is NOT the final release for today...  but it should allow for a larger testing group.. stay tuned!!

This is only a test-beta release...

Im getting someone to audit the code now, but yeah probably FUD.

sounds good, just so you know that was the original code that the coin was based, not the current code tree, github will be updated next week
1153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC] -POW & 3.33% POS | 3 Exchanges | The first POS X11 Anonnymous wallet!! on: May 25, 2014, 06:16:35 AM
Dev (or anyone) care to comment on the following tweet:

https://twitter.com/jyap/status/470159865977925632

Its funny how my phone goes off because of some un-informed guy on twitter ... so because the binary was compiled before it was uploaded to github its bad code?   Or maybe it is somebody trying to play the market.. idk... regardless the offending file has been removed

big things are coming, the linux wallet tested very well and is available by request - via email: atcsecure@x11coin.org, looks like the windows wallet will also be part of the release as well.

I have big plans for this platform..

1154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC] -POW & 3.33% POS | 3 Exchanges | The first POS X11 Anonnymous wallet!! on: May 25, 2014, 02:57:11 AM
I have a question for the DEV.

The XC website says there are 100k total PoW blocks w/ 333XC/block, which is 33.3mil total XC from PoW.
But the OP also says "Total Coins:33.3Million ", did you mean total coins for PoW, or??

The OP also says "17M~33.3Million - Estimated due to POS blocks reducing POW", what does this mean?
It sounds like PoS happens simultaneously with PoW and has an impact on how many coins will be produced from PoW.

To me a common PoW/PoS coin usually means:
1: A prescribed maximum hight of PoW blocks w/ prescribed coins per block.
2: PoS only starts after PoW stage ends.

Please clarify!

This coin is a Hybrid pow/pos, so it does both NOW...

here is a screenshot of the transaction, it can be verified via blockchain explorer, granted this is the older code but it clearly shows the mixer working

well after a marathon work week, with very little sleep or food, I am going to celebrate this huge milestone and then get some rest!!!

it was a great adventure getting to this point and I want to say thank you to all of those you helped along the way!! this is only the beginning for XC!!!!

Excellent! Thank you for your hard work!
In my opinion, XC is earlier than DRK in implementing the annomous feature,
that is very impressive

This is not so much a matter of opinion... rather a matter of historic facts: DarkSend was/is live since Feb (testnet) / March (mainnet).

I am confused, I think DRK is still in the testing (i know they started in Feb, but i think they are still testing and they are trying to implement masternode soon), but XC is almost ready for implement. Please point it out if I am wrong.

DRK is implementing masternode payments in a few hours. That's part of RC2. DarkSends work ok but, up to now, masternodes weren't getting paid 10% of mining output. RC3 will bring more in terms of anonymity.

Basic mixing was achieved within days back in February. For 99% of the cases a mixer is private enough for most uses. However governments can still catch you if they can monitor the nodes. That's the 1% extra effort that DRK is trying to do in the last months in the form of negative incentives to run multiple nodes from "bad actors" (that's why masternode payment protocol / 1000 DRK requirement was put into place). RC3 will try to improve anonymity further - always that last 1%.

We will be switching away from the masternode topology in REV v2 - I don't want to give away the secret sauce, but it is going to be high-end anonymous end to end encryption, provide 100% true anonymity and be the foundation of our blockchain v2.0 phase

Also our Rev v1 release can't be "monitored" at the node layer :-)

Good stuff... btw, I see you are a qualified dev, which is kind of a rare quality around these cryptocurrency places. Do you believe you can achieve NSA-proofing? For the time being it is an elusive property for most coins of this kind.

Great question, not going to answer that here.. once the encrypted messaging system is place within the XC wallet - we can discuss

Ok let me rephrase it in a "government-friendly" manner: Is the solution superior to ring signatures?

I would need to dig pretty deep into the aspects both solutions to answer that... as we get closer to REV v2 release, I will provide more details to the solution XC will implement

Will this become a pure proof of stake coin anytime soon? What is the schedule?

The coin will still have the extended POW but the # of coins produced by POW will be greatly reduced moving forward

What is the schedule for that?

Also what is the block reward?

within 5-10days

When you switch over to reduced PoW block reward, what size will the POS and PoW block rewards be respectively? That is my last question. If the PoW block reward is too low then this will disincentivize people from doing PoW mining and the dev of BlackCoin demonstrated a hybrid PoW/PoS coin with low PoW reward is typically wide open to a 51% attack.

I am aware of the 51% attack issue, I don't have the exact answers to these questions yet.....  tomorrow..
