I think both Newcastle and Arsenal are having an unexpectedly strong season. I am happy to see Newcastle in a Champions League place (for now at least) because they deserved in on the way they have started playing. Arsenal surprised me, I thought their team was too inexperienced and too young to make a serious attempt at winning the league title. I still think they will fade away and Manchester City will win the Premier League. As for Liverpool, Tottenham or any other team to clinch the Champions League spots, the Premier League restarts on Monday 26th December, we do not have to wait long before the games are played again. It is true that they have a really challenging road ahead of them among all of these teams. Even Newcastle are having an unexpectedly strong season. First of all, Arsenal and Manchester City are obviously the favourites for top 2 positions. They wouldn't drop down from this area that easy. For the remaining spots in top 4, I'm thinking of Liverpool and Tottenham. Somehow I can't believe in Manchester United to make it there as much as I do for Liverpool. I find them a little inadequate in terms of scoring potential - multiple goals in a match. They have conceded even more goals than Liverpool too. Liverpool can close this gap of 4 points with them if Klopp starts taking the right actions especially in defense. Personally, I am really happy for Newcastle to be playing this well in the league so far. I think Arsenal deservedly got into the position they are in right now, as the addition of Gabriel Jesus has really changed the total outlook of the team. Despite the fact that he is injured, which is quite unfortunate, I still believe that both Manchester City and Arsenal will be able to finish at least in the top four, if not in the top two. Taking a look at the other two spots, I feel Tottenham will have the highest chance of getting the third place and I believe Liverpool will have the best chance of getting the fourth spot over Manchester United. The World Cup in Qatar was full of surprises this time. The Argentine team lost their first match against KSA. However, they qualified for the round of 16 as group champions. Belgium and Germany were among the favorites for the World Cup. They were eliminated in the group stage. Spain unexpectedly lost against Morocco in the knockout round. Every team in the quarter finals is strong. It is very difficult to predict which team will qualify for the semi-finals. But I would like to see Argentina vs Brazil in the semi-final.
Overall, the tournament was quite disastrous for the UEFA teams. Some of the tournament favorites from that region are out of contention. Belgium, Germany, Spain and Danmark are a few examples. CONMEBOL also didn't performed well. Uruguay and Ecuador didn't managed to qualify for the PQF stage, which was a big surprise. And although AFC teams such as Japan and South Korea performed exceptionally well in the group stage, they just couldn't get their act right during the pre-quarter final stage. @Sithara007 honestly I had my doubts about Belgium, Spain and Germany but after Spain won comprehensively against Costa Rica I thought that they would easily qualify for the semis, but they really disappointed big time when they exited from the tournament. If CR7 had started that game I don't see the score line to be 6-1, because all attention will be on CR7 and the flow of the game won't be flexible as it was. The Portugal national team can play comfortably without CR7.

Portugal's quarter final match is going to be against Morocco. I would honestly say that given the form that Portugal is in, Morocco doesn't stand a chance. The most probable semi-final lineup looks like this: Argentina vs Brazil England vs Portugal In the second semi-final, I assumed that England would be able to secure a spot, by defeating France in the QF match. Now predicting the winner of QF match between England and France is extremely difficult, as both the teams are in good form. But I went with England, as I thought that they had a better team balance when compared to France. there are not many quality players in spain as far as i can see that's why spain's journey only got to the last 16, morocco balanced the game with spain even though beating spain on penalties was enough to advance to the quarter-finals, this is where we see the team that really really quality during the world cup up to the quarter-finals, I also predict that Portugal seems to be much easier to enter the semifinals than other teams that get balanced opponents even though Brazil can also easily beat Croatia I am not really happy with Ronaldo’s behaviour because he once again stormed off at the end, and is proving to be a distraction for this Portugal team and the Portugal player’s have shown that they do not need him hence he should not be in the playing 11 again for their next match. Great game for Morocco. Really disciplined team and a great goalkeeper. Spain controlled the ball as usual, but they didn't do anything exceptional in their attacks. Luis Enrique will have to be replaced as a coach. The Spanish team seems demotivated under his leadership.

Even I believe in this Tier system but not for the test formation because now it's not need anything for development or better future we have to do these Tier systems for the ODI and Twenty/20 because these two formats can bring good marketing strategy and better results here in test format I believe we will lose few more teams in near future like Ireland and Afghanistan having not good future with Zimbabwe, West Indies and Bangladesh are next teams which will never have any positive future with their domestic problems and talent which is not coming and mostly youths are interested into shorter formats.

Therefore I don't understand the requirement for a tier system for limited overs. On the other hand, test matches are getting increasingly one-sided, especially when played between the pig-4 nations (India, Australia, England and New Zealand) and the other teams (Sri Lanka, West Indies.etc). In order to avoid the incidence of such one-sided matches in tests, we need the tier system. @Sithara007 maybe the tier system is needed for ODI where we usually don’t see that many upsets, but when it comes to T20 you’re right there’s no need for it as both team’s have an equal chance of winning the match. Furthermore I feel that the big 4 play against the smaller team’s only for creating and breaking new record’s, and that’s why I no longer enjoy watching these one sided test matches. |

Indeed, Chelsea performed well in the UCL. They have a chance to win like Tuchel. But with the current conditions I doubt it. I don't think current players can compete with Man City, Munich or other big clubs. In 1/16 they will play Dortmund. I don't underestimate Chelsea, but Dortmund can always surprise. Chelsea must be vigilant. Even though that game is still a long way off, there is a chance Chelsea make a big transfer maybe that could change the chances of getting to the Final.
I don't think that any transfer can seriously change the chances of the teams (unless of course it's Haaland + Mbappe, but they hardly want Chelsea plus they can no longer play for another club in the Champions League this season). Maybe we will see Ronaldo's move that has been talked about so much? He's not showing anything special this season, but he has a certain Champions League magic associated with him. @KTChampions to be fair the new coach of Chelsea deserves time at least one proper full season before we start to judge his work, and currently I feel that both team’s are equal but if I had to pick one team out of these two for proceeding to the next round then I would pick Dortmund because Jude Bellingham is playing for them. Lastly getting Ronaldo would be a huge blunder on Chelsea’s part, because these day’s he play’s less and causes more distraction by his off field activities hence they should avoid this transfer and try for other player’s who’ll be committed to their coach/club. |
