11401  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Adding a simple donate link. on: December 06, 2015, 08:03:09 PM
I've been reading online about how to added a donate link.

But i am confused about it.   I've read online that it's not safe to put your address online?

Here is what i did so far.   I went into bitcoin core client & i added a new address and named it: "Donate"

I took the bitcoin address and put it inside some div brackets. Here is the outcome:

<div>
  <a href="bitcoin:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx">Donate: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx</a>
</div>

Is this safe?

I have a bitpay donate link, but bitpay only allows 100 per day, 500 per year, So i don't want to use that.

In the bitcoin core client it says i should use a different address each time?  Even for donate?

Is what i did above correct?

Yes! This is safe. As long as your private key isn't shared, you're fine!
You don't need to use different addresses, that is just to keep payments private.
As stated, you could use a QR code, I know that if you got to blockchain.info/qr?data=[your address]&[anysize].
This gives you a QR Code

Here is an example of mine below, if you scan it with a phone on a normal qr code scanner it will show up my address of
1GybvzB8d1cZAtySZCjMBr4RrwsYVQg8dY
Or copy it into bitcoin core as a sending address, or in the bitcoin app: Then you will recieve a donate or send bitcoin feature for it!

E.G: https://blockchain.info/qr?data=1GybvzB8d1cZAtySZCjMBr4RrwsYVQg8dY&size=200
https://blockchain.info/qr?data=[1GybvzB8d1cZAtySZCjMBr4RrwsYVQg8dY]&[size=200]
basic web address and the required extensionyour address will be inserted instead of this!part of the syntax for the codeThis figure can be adjusted as it represents the hight of the QR code that you want!

Hope this works for you!
Jack G

output from my example:

Code:
<div>
    <img src=https://blockchain.info/qr?data=1GybvzB8d1cZAtySZCjMBr4RrwsYVQg8dY&size=200></img>
</div>
11402  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best Investments on: December 06, 2015, 07:00:35 PM
Cloud mining is bad way to invest and earn money. Most defeneatly you lose more then you invest. Holding bitcoins has been my strategy for a year now. It's way more profitable then buy and earn on cloud mining. Also it's a lot less risky.

Speculating on altcoins is also a good way to make some money. However it's very risky indeed.

I realised that, if you purchase GH/s s in Hashnest at around 2am Pacific time (10am GMT!), it is cheaper, then sell at around 10am Pacific Time (6pm GMT), you will earn quite a bit froom the market for this time. Although, it is qite risky, but it should be stable this way for a while anyway!

Of course not. And i am still free. They not yet accept me.

No wonder! Please read the rules! You have to put the code in your signture before you can get accepted! Read the rules and the entire OP before enrolling in signature campaigns, or using a service! No one will accept you if you try to apply for two campaigns, you must pick one to go with!
11404  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: HELP!!! NO BLOCK SOURCE... on: December 06, 2015, 06:40:02 PM
From there I found:

(NOTE: I corrected this after Shorena showed me how to find the direct link to the image!)
If the image does not work, here is the link!

I also found some errors on the Information section, such as:
Code:

Which Is repeatedly stated!
11405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / HELP!!! NO BLOCK SOURCE... on: December 06, 2015, 06:12:57 PM
I recently updated my bitcoin wallet and since then, it has been saying, NO BLOCK SOURCE AVALIABLE...

Does anyone have any suggestions.
I am on the win 32 version and haven't yet finished the initial download and moved from 0.11.0 to 0.11.2 moving everything across! Any Suggestions?

Thank you in advance!
11406  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is gambling so addicting? on: December 06, 2015, 06:10:14 PM
It is based on greed and speed.
If you have high greed, you will lose a lot.
Also, the speed of gambling means you can use more than £1 million in around 1 minute. Increasing the amount you can lose.

Gambling games are also enjoyable and should only be played for enjoyment!
11407  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Holding Bitcoin a long time good way to make money? on: December 06, 2015, 06:07:51 PM
Theoretically, it is and it isn't!
It is an investment, as long as the demand increases and there are no substancial flaws. It is a good thing.
However, if there is a low demand or there is large flaws that are found, it is a terrable investment!
11408  Economy / Economics / Re: Europe in Crisis on: December 06, 2015, 05:30:15 PM

Yes. The population in Euro zone is increasing year after year. But the resources are depleted very fast. It is not sustainable.
The population is not increasing by birthrate but rather by constant flow of economic immigrants.  And it is not like Europe natural resources were on a brink of depletion.
Europe can carry on for many, many more year. What is problematic, however, is current EU council stupid politics, it is like they know that they are wrong, but still doing it regardless.

What like having one court that can overpower ANY other court in Europe! And they expect people to stick with this?
11409  Economy / Service Discussion / Time Is a Big Flaw For The Hashnest Market! on: December 06, 2015, 05:25:01 PM
I was on Hashnest, in the UK at around 12:00pm GMT (04:00am Pacific Time) and bought a GH of the S4.
I bought it for 0.00028 BTC and sold for ~0.00029 BTC.
It seems the main problem with Hashnest's Market is TIME!

https://www.google.co.uk/?gws_rd=ssl#q=GMT+to+PDt seems relavent

At around 7-9am Pacific time the Hashnest price goes up, as there is a higher demand from the US.
At around 12pm Pacific time the Hashnest price goes back down to what it was!
Meaning that time is the second mot important component of a hashnest hash purchase!
11410  Economy / Economics / Re: Europe in Crisis on: December 06, 2015, 04:30:17 PM
If the European Union and the Euro Zone collapse sometime in the near future, then that will be entirely due to their own mistakes. They are going to accept millions of economic migrants every year, which is likely to cost them more than € 100 billion per year from 2017 onward. Also, they have picked up unnecessary fights with countries such as Russia, causing havoc in the agricultural sector.

Yes. The population in Euro zone is increasing year after year. But the resources are depleted very fast. It is not sustainable.

The expansion of the EU in 2004 put in a lot of strain on the founding members, such as the United Kingdom, France and Germany. Even now, the Eastern nations (Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovakia.etc) are heavily dependent upon the Western members for funds, jobs, subsidies.etc. And on top of that, now they have to deal with the additional burden of economic migrants from countries such as Pakistan and Egypt.

I know that German, The UK and France have a larger population when compared with the rest of Europe. In 2008, according to an exam board in the UK, there were 740 million people in Europe. And there were also around 70 million people in the UK. Meaning that the UK's population was around 10% of the population of Europe!
There should possibly be a main EU and one that is split into two, as if there is a financial collapse in a richer country such as the UK, France and Germany, they would need more money to become financially stable again. Whereas, countries like Slovakia would need less as there are only ~20 million people in that country.

11412  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / HELP: UPDATING BITCOIN WALLET on: December 06, 2015, 02:45:44 PM
FIRSTLY, please PM if this thread/topic is in the wrong place on the forum.

I have previously installed and am running Bitcoin Core (32-bit) as 64-bit would not load!
I have run this and it has worked fine for me so far, though i have not been doing any transactions as I am still on the initial download.

Please can you confirm that:
1. I extracted the 0.11.2 (latest version of bitcoin core) using utorrent.
2. I then just need to copy and paste the bin/bitcoin-qt.exe file (don't I?)

After this, it should work OK. Can someone confirm this before I try it aned lose my addresses (even through they don't have anything on them anyway!)

I just want to check if this will work or if I have to copy over, the rest of the information housed in the main folder with bin, lib and include directorys.

Please reply quickly.
Thank you
Jack G
11413  Economy / Economics / Re: Europe in Crisis on: December 06, 2015, 02:12:13 PM
Th EU is in big trouble. It would fall to the largest countries to sort this out, especially countries like Germany and France. The EU is quite unstable and it seems they have issue every few years. So just like in life it is the richest people who get to push their weight around and Germany and France have the most to gain. Smaller countries should be helped especially Greece as they simply do not have the resources to police their borders.

They allow anyone to join and sign their treaty in order to join. The EU high court still has to agree to it but they haven't stopped many countries. This means that many "poorer" countries were accepted into the EU, causing problems to it. (as the population of these countries could travel from a poorer country to a richer country for a better quality of life!)
11414  Economy / Economics / Re: Europe in Crisis on: December 06, 2015, 02:05:43 PM
There is report  of independent european economist saying if EU zone will continue his financial policy EU will crash in 2017

Today  Carl Hainz Juncker said if Schengen will fail  Euro will  crash, like a answer is we have to stop defend Schengen we need to focus to defend Euro

Both Schengen zone and Euro  are to biggest EU project,Euro cant exist without Schengen

EU is not able to deal with refugee crisis,  Caltalonia  independence, terrorism,Ukraine and Russia,Greece,Italy

so looks like some crash on horizon

I estimate there will be a financial crash in Europe before them. Aparently, according to The Bank Of England that seems to "shock test" banks in England. It suggessts that they could be able to cope with another financial crisis without the government buying them again! Not sure about the rest of Europe though!

Not sure why the EU still exists. Ther eis another treaty that allows freedome of movement throughout Europe and some other countries, as they have signed up to it. The EU is more of financial insurance for its coundries, which, North Western Europe doesn't need this.
11415  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Have Coinbase Added Transaction Fees? on: December 06, 2015, 01:53:08 PM
just now sent btc from my coinbase wallet and charge zero fee(checked balance before and after transaction, if sometimes to hide fee )

Me TOO! I sent another 1 mbtc to the same wallet, and it didn't charge transaction fees. Very confused as to why or why not they charge and don't charge transaction fees of some transactions.

11418  Economy / Trading Discussion / Have Coinbase Added Transaction Fees? on: December 05, 2015, 08:33:59 PM
I noticed this a few days ago but thought nothing of it! Until Now...

So today I withdrew 0.001 BTC to a website. It then said that I withdrew 0.00104849 BTC instead of 0.001 BTC. (I clearly wrote 0.001 BTC into the form box!)

I was not notified of this change before it happened.

Please reply with any information that may be usefu or relavent and if you have had the same problem, please share it!

Thank you

11419  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your favorite color? on: December 05, 2015, 06:47:30 PM
I like Blue. It's a really nice color. I remember back then when I was a kid, I really like blue because it's the color of Stitch.

Based on the psychology, most people's favourite colour is: Blue.
It is seen as a calming colour and more of the things people see in the day are blue! Such as: the sky, the ocean, ETC...
Colours, such as: Red and Bright Yellow are seen to be resembelances of fire and so make people less calm.
