11421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Core Dev Luke Jr. To Chinese Miners: We Didn't Promise You Dick! on: June 28, 2016, 06:36:46 PM
If you read the agreement signed, it says within the paragraphs that the Bitcoin contributors signing are separate individuals not empowered to confirm finalization. It clearly states that the Core community has the final say. A handful of Core Contributors is not the Core Community.
This is obvious to pretty much any non-shill and reasonable member. Even after it was initially a bit confusing to some, the community tried to clarify wherever and whenever possible.

What documents or other material do you have that shows that LukeJr and others willfully participated in such talks with claims that they control Bitcoin, yet reneging later to just claim as an individual?.
They don't have anything. This account was created for the sole purpose of attacking people. Do you really expect reasonable arguments from such?
11422  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Core Dev Luke Jr. To Chinese Miners: We Didn't Promise You Dick! on: June 28, 2016, 05:02:35 PM
Another shill account created in order to spread FUD. Isn't this just classic? Roll Eyes

Luke-jr handled the situation decently especially considering this part:
Quote
Speaking only for myself, I made the promise with sincerity, and intend to uphold it best I can (despite the almost immediate violation by one of the parties).
Isn't it amusing how the /r/btc parade wants to burn luke-jr on a stake (even though he has done nothing wrong here) but ignores the fact that it was already violated by another party?
11423  Other / Meta / Re: bitcointalk.org forum scary poll on: June 28, 2016, 04:38:44 PM
This thread is as useless as it gets IMO. Such threads are bound to be flooded with useless posts from people participating in signature campaigns in which there's very little quality check.
11424  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin.org unannounced downtime? on: June 28, 2016, 12:59:52 PM
Yeah, well I do think there is a need, and that need is integrity. Bitcoins most valuable asset is its integrity. People do not use money when there are questions about its integrity.
I'm not saying that they've handled the situation correctly, I'm saying that there needs to be no panic.

Having the main Bitcoin website go down randomly with no explanation undermines the integrity and image of reliability that Bitcoin is supposed to have and depends on to become an important monetary standard.
I disagree. A website is a centralized structure that is not correlated to the decentralized structure of Bitcoin and as such it can not impact the integrity nor the reliability of the network itself. Also, there is no such thing as "main Bitcoin website". I'd call it the 'most popular Bitcoin website'.
11425  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin.org unannounced downtime? on: June 28, 2016, 12:11:43 PM
The technology for running reliably 24-7 exists and that the controllers of bitcoin.org do not know how to use this technology is inexcusable for a service which is critical for many thousands of people.
What are you talking about? "Critical for many thousands of people"? I don't think I've been to that website more than a dozen of times, and it is usually when linking information for someone new. There are other resources that explain Bitcoin properly and give adequate links to wallets and service. I don't think there's a need to make a big fuss about such short downtime.
11426  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Blocksize Debate & Concerns on: June 28, 2016, 11:31:55 AM
Interesting conclusion by Carlton that franky1 is either a superhuman or there's franky2. However, the thread went sideways. Time to get back to some relevant input.

Let's be honest, the old people will never jump 100% into new tech, it just doesnt work that way. Only the young people have a chance to learn something completely new and use it in their lives.
This is correct for the majority of old people.

I didnt seen any old people using smartphones, heck most of them dont even have phones.
It is quite rare that older people are 'decent' with smartphones.

Technology just progresses too fast for people to keep up with. However the modern PC has been around for 30 years, so that should not be a very hard step to take.
That is the case, especially for people who are not involved in IT. I'd say that modern computing has become very simplified for simple tasks and inexperienced users.

The wallets are simple, they only have buttons, menus and texboxes, who is so dumb that cant figure that out?
Maybe the design could be 'modernized', but aside from that I'd say that Bitcoin Core is a pretty simple wallet. Of course it has some advanced features, but regular users don't need to use those (the same applies for other wallets). If I were to recommend a wallet to someone that I know right now (who isn't tech-savy), I'd definitely take them on a route with SPV wallets first. Telling someone that they have to wait XX hours (for synchronization) and spend a lot of bandwidth and storage just to start using Bitcoin might turn them off.
11427  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin.org unannounced downtime? on: June 28, 2016, 11:02:42 AM
Do you need a tinfoil hat? How about you just relax? Every website goes down occasionally, e.g. it could be a problem of the website itself, a problem with their hosting provider and such. The downtime was very short.

What kind of clowns are running that operation?
Calling them "clowns" doesn't make you look like a genius either.

For all we know some hacker just replaced all the downloads with hacked versions and rebooted the server.
That's doubtful at best. You can always download them from somewhere else (a few people compile each version) or compile them yourself.
11428  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who next do you think gonna run away with people BTC on: June 28, 2016, 09:46:58 AM
These things can not be predicted accurately. If you lose money in any of these, the only person that you should rightfully blame is yourself. You get led on by greed and fall into 'suspicious services' in no time, 'just a fool and his money'. This is why you should stay away from cloud mining, ponzi's, web wallets and such.

yea... your right. cloud mining sucks and hyip is the worst.
I don't see why anyone in their right mind would want to do something with those.

Even if they are running for years or so they will eventually run.
Well, one shouldn't necessarily generalize it for all but the probability of another one running is always high (especially if they have gathered a lot of money).
11429  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: how do i make confirmations on blockchain faster on: June 28, 2016, 07:10:35 AM
Is it true? long as I use blockchain with standar fee course has never been that long. the longest half hour. But according to the article I read, you can speed up transactions by increasing the transaction fee. Thank you
How about doing some research instead of posting here? Any user should be aware of how the fee system works and any decent user would know better than to use online wallets.

maybe that happen when the fee is too low,i ever experienced it but only take 1 hours with low fee as low 0.00005 ,quite regret about it,
Yes, transactions get 'delayed' at times because their priority is low due to the low fee.

increasing transaction fee will not clearly answer as bitcoin's fee per byte always changing see this site bitcoinfees.21.com as many people mentioned it on this forum
No. Adding a fee that equals the recommended fee (in satoshis/byte) at the time (or even a higher fee) will make your TX confirm very quickly.
11430  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: how do i make confirmations on blockchain faster on: June 28, 2016, 06:59:31 AM
You can faster this process by paying more fees and not using the custom fees. You have to use the recommend fees by the blockchain network which is 0.0001 btc....
Wrong. Custom fees are also a way of paying more and gaining higher priority. What you should not be doing is paying some sort of 'standard fee'.

I think the thing that affects of confirmation was blocked because of mining, mining block is indeed the Foundation of any transaction which is in bitcoin. In mining every block always confirm that the transaction is done right or wrong and the miners will confirm. so it depends on the research process and confirmation is done in block
You really have no clue what you're talking about.

another way to make it faster is to get a confidence factor for every unconfirmed transaction. This allows merchants and developers to assess the risk of accepting a transaction within milliseconds.
The developers have no role in that assessment. Zero confirmation transactions are acceptable for negligible amounts I'd say.

11431  Other / Meta / Re: How does negative feedback work? on: June 28, 2016, 06:32:19 AM
I'd advise you not to change your trust list randomly, or at least not if you aren't completely sure what you're doing. You're manipulating your own trust score for yourself (and people with the same trust list). It might be worth reading up a bit more on the trust system. Most of the people are going to see this when they check your profile:
11432  Economy / Reputation / Re: False Negative Trade Score on: June 27, 2016, 08:16:35 PM
The negative feedback shows when you click on "Trust" beneath my username and go to my trade page. There you click on Show Untrusted feedback.
I'm very well aware of how the trust system works. I'm telling you that it does not matter and that it does not have an influence on your trust rating (as seen by most people) on default.

This topic has been moved to Trashcan.
Reason: Cracked accounts.
11434  Economy / Reputation / Re: False Negative Trade Score on: June 27, 2016, 06:04:16 PM
As far as DT is concerned (i.e. the default trust list that people have), everything is fine on your end. This is what I see:

Fake feedback is really unavoidable (aside from DT members) here.
11435  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Blocksize Debate & Concerns on: June 27, 2016, 05:05:11 PM
I would be interested in hearing from the people who were part of that agreement. The other Core developers do not have to voice themselves as they're not part of it.

The miners are service providers. They don't have a say in how Bitcoin develops.
They shouldn't have a say in it, unless they're actively contributing indeed. They are free to decide whether they want to run those changes or not.

Has anyone noticed how the 2MB2MB2MB shills never post anywhere except in threads that let them propagate their dev team coup propaganda? You'd think they'd be active all over Bitcoin, seeing as they're such genuine fellas, huh? Grin
I've noticed that. They usually have no contributions in any way or form.
11436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will I stay or Will I leave - Poll on: June 27, 2016, 04:18:02 PM
Which side will win obviously matter, but now fortunately, it has been proven that Core will never be surpassed, good for everyone's interest.
Someone understands it.

I would go with the third option - It doesn't matter whichever side wins.
It matters quite a lot if you can see the bigger picture.

Well man no matter what, I think I will stay. I have been here so ill stay till I see the end of it. That's what I think.
That's the right thing to do, as this is not the right time to leave, we are now close to halving, if we have to leave then we can do it after halving, but not at this stage.
So in the case that a Bank or government ever manages to 'takeover' Bitcoin with their own controversial HF, then the right thing to do is stay? Stop with this ignorant bullshit.

Most of these 'I'm staying no matter what' bullshit posts are just spam (there are too many to quote). If you had even put any real thought in the situation you'd never have such a simplistic opinion about it. Of course it matters whether Bitcoin is subject to political coercion or not.
11437  Other / Meta / Re: signature campaign BITMIXER on: June 27, 2016, 03:30:31 PM
if spammers getting removed then this is a good thing I think..
You need to re-read the post again as you haven't clearly understood it. He's saying that the campaign is not removing spammers, i.e. is indirectly endorsing spam.

do not you think that BITMIXER signature campaign, it's time to make a warning since a lot of spammers and the company not removes them?
This is not how the staff currently deals with the spam. Usually it is the members themselves that get punished if they do spam. It is quite unfortunate that there are no consequences for the campaign itself if they let a lot of spammers remain 'enrolled'. It would help if you posted examples of spammers.
11438  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why are you investing in Bitcoin? on: June 27, 2016, 12:04:27 PM
It is like most of these people forgot the values and the initial ideas behind Bitcoin. This is truly sad to read. Stop being led on by greed already, how can you be so blind?

Where did the idea of a revolution go to? Ditching the corrupt financial system and centralized banking? The idea of a global, decentralized, censorship resistance and immutable form of global money is why Bitcoin matters. I pity anyone who can't get over their own greed and does not value these (and similar) aspects.
11439  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin was ‘Good as Gold’ in the Brexit on: June 27, 2016, 11:06:37 AM
These Brexit and Bitcoin articles are really getting tired already. These people are just speculating and writing whatever they can to 'fulfill' the needs of their jobs. Some claim that there are directly connected and that it has an effect on Bitcoin, the others claim the exact opposite. I'm not seeing it. Although, there were some 'acknowledgements' that Bitcoin is a safe-heaven due to the 'panic' in financial markets everywhere.

Bitcoin and Brexit were not in any way connected, and neither was Brexit and the (paper) Gold price, or any other financial market turmoil. All politicised BS, essentially.
Most likely, yes. I wouldn't be surprised to see nonsense like "Bitcoin is the reason for Brexit".
11440  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CHINA & BLOCKSTREAM ARE TROLLING BITCOIN on: June 27, 2016, 07:32:27 AM
Someone had a thread about empty blocks that had actual data and statistics, unlike this one. Maybe you could present some nice date when making your case (e.g. empty blocks mined vs. ordinary blocks per pool).

This would be unlikely to continue with an increase in blocksize.
False. This would very much continue.

Furthermore, it would be 100% impossible with an unlimited blocksize.
Of course it would be impossible since the network would effectively be broken.

Segwit does not address this issue.
Segwit was never intended to address 'this issue'.
