11421  Economy / Speculation / Re: I predicted it, SO now what do you do? on: January 14, 2015, 02:23:28 PM
I am certainly buying, but today I ran out of the fiat that I had on several exchanges.

No more buying for me at this point. Especially when the low Euro value is making it not interesting to convert my EUR into USD.

11422  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am glad the price is down - I wish it would go down further. on: January 13, 2015, 09:46:48 PM
People are free to invest their money in whatever way they want. Directly in Bitcoin or solely startups. That's none of your business, it's their money.

Scammers are everywhere, they don't care about Bitcoin being $20 or $2000. All they want is to run with your money.

Any one heard any rumor that messi is going to premier league to play.
Reading something on my local news portal that Chelsea, MNU and MNC are interested.

It may be that Messi is not content with current coach but I don't think that he will ever left Barcelona.
He may want to force club to replace coach with someone else.
It's also good question who have today 400 million Euros to pay for Messi?
Can anybody pay such crazy price?

Messi has no interest in playing for any other team.

At this point due to financial fair play rules only Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are able to buy out his 250,000,000 contract.

He will never go to Real Madrid for obvious reasons. Manchester United isn't good enough. Bayern Munich remains as only option.

That dude will stay in Barcelone where he belongs  Grin

There are so many TOP experts here, you guys must be rich by now. Or not?....

Once it went below $300 a lot people said it will go back up within a few days. GUARANTEED!!   Grin

11425  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC at $240 on: January 13, 2015, 09:17:51 PM
Just saw 227. Glad I didn't buy any at $1000.  I wonder if this is the best time to buy  Smiley

Don't continue wondering.

It's a fantastic time to buy at current price level, get in while you still can.
11426  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin RIP, the day bitcoin died- 3 January 2009 - 13 January 2015 on: January 13, 2015, 09:15:21 PM
Spent 4 years below $50, death announced when it goes below $250  Roll Eyes

Bitcoin has infinite life, it will come back stronger than ever each time  Grin
11427  Economy / Speculation / Re: The cost of owning/operating a Bitcoin exchange on: January 12, 2015, 09:14:15 PM
How much does it cost to open/operate an exchange from a non-regulatory stand point?

Factors:
Development- Someone has to write the code for the front/backends.
Hosting-PC's just won't cut it.
Security-SSL certs, audits
Staff- There needs to be someone available 24/7 to fix any problems that arise

If you are in the US and if you did want to factor in regulations, you better have $500k+. A money transmitter license alone can be $100-200k iirc.
http://www.grimeslawaz.com/technology-and-licensing/money-transmitter-licensing/
Quote
The cost for becoming a licensed money transmitter in all 53 states and territories with individual licensing requirements is approximately $176,226.

Then there are other regulatory fees as an exchange, I'm sure.

These rules are understandable quite heavy.

Do these same rules also apply when it comes to altcoin exchanges without fiat markets?

11431  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Overstock Offers It's Staff The Option To Be Paid In Bitcoin on: January 12, 2015, 02:04:40 PM
Overstock is a great example of how companies can get the most out of Bitcoin.

Accepting is as form of payment is great, but giving employees the option to get paid in Bitcoin is even better.

At this point it isn't a wise option to get paid in Bitcoin for 100% but a small fraction can't hurt I guess.
11432  Economy / Speculation / Re: will you dump at next spike? on: January 12, 2015, 01:57:02 PM
Depends on how high the next spike will get.

I will surely sell some coins, but the majority will not leave my cold wallets.

11434  Other / Off-topic / Re: General Football Discussion on: January 11, 2015, 06:35:01 PM
United is a very poor team, that's the only conclusion I can have looking at their current season.

After substituting RVP and Di Maria there was nothing with quality left on the field beside Mata and Rooney.

Falcao wasn't present on the field. May be an indication of him leaving United very soon.
11435  Economy / Economics / Re: bitsamp influence on Bitcoin on: January 11, 2015, 04:38:30 PM
Outside world and the average joe always blame Bitcoin for the incompetence of some exchanges and services.

The media is programmed to air bad news when it comes to Bitcoin. Good news is barely being covered.
11436  Economy / Services / Re: Up to 0.035 BTC weekly for YOUR SIGNATURE *New rules on: January 11, 2015, 04:25:08 PM
Current stats:
  • Number of registered users: 365
  • Last 7 days total payouts: 2.47512917 BTC
The campaign doesn't bring too much customers. I hope it works to brand awareness.

I would assume that it doesn't bring many customers as the average bitcoin user has no need for a mixer. It is kind of a niche of bitcoin.

Getting people to know your brand is great marketing.

It won't bring much people in directly, but at least they know where to go when they do need to mix their coins.
11437  Economy / Speculation / Re: Time to buy on: January 11, 2015, 04:17:31 PM
275 USD... hmmm... BitStamp has increased the selling pressure again. I'd rather invest in bitcoin business than directly into bitcoin.

Selling pressure? So?

At this point it's worth buying no matter how much "sell pressure" there is.
11438  Economy / Services / Re: Logo Design Service - STARTING AT 0.01 on: January 10, 2015, 03:53:06 PM

Here you go Marco!

I really like that banner. Clean and very effective.

Can you show a bit more logo work? I'm interested in getting a logo and a banner.
11439  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitstamp hack. A real life test of anonymity in Bitcoin on: January 10, 2015, 03:32:15 PM
There are plenty of places where the receivers don't mind to accept these coins.

The thief most likely will get clean coins or fiat in return.

Perhaps by selling them well below current value at some point.
11440  Economy / Economics / Re: Price drop : bitcoinners happy ? on: January 10, 2015, 03:16:30 PM
Is now the time to buy in big or the current value could go even lower?
If you plan to hold long-term doesn't matter if you buy at 280-290 , in worst case price could dip to 260 (less probable)

It has already dived under $260 few days ago. Why do you think it's not probable?

Hard to say what will happen when BitStamp re-opens. They'll likely have to buy back the stolen 19,000 (if they didn't already). This can drive the price up or down.

But yes, if you're bullish on bitcoin and are here for the long-run, then the current price movement doesn't matter too much.
I know that price was around 260 few days ago and is less probable that will be again 260 sometime

Is there a price more stupid than 260$ ? Merchants can't do nothing with this price, it's not handable in all currencies. Personally if I have to hack an exchange, I will not steal any coins with such a value of 260$

Bitcoin price is not a problem for merchants who use a payment service as they get fiat for every purchase made.

It may be a problem when merchants hold the coins while value is decreasing.

Only a tiny percentage of merchants actually hold the coins.
