11461  Economy / Reputation / Re: The war with Russia: can we end it? Do we want to? on: January 21, 2019, 11:14:58 AM
I believe this green trust giveaway in Russia local board is working just like the merit giveaways there.

Russia board always circulated much more merit than any other local board. Not only because of the high activity there, but I believe people there are more willing to help his fellow Russian companions.
11462  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trade self-moderated topics with caution – it’s possibly a scam! on: January 21, 2019, 08:41:16 AM
Good reading

When you are dealing with a select moderated thread you should always take a look at the OP profile to check his trust. Then double check scam accusation board and reputation. There are many active members here that will quickly post any scam possibility there.
11463  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the best resources to learn about Bitcoin? Non-tech friendly on: January 21, 2019, 08:27:28 AM
How about Andreas Antonopoulos?

I think this guy is very good. Certainly one of the most successful speaker about BTC.

In an ecosystem where there are so many scammers, so much misleading information, hear a someone like antonopoulos is amazing.

Here is his book, for free. It opened my mind:
Mastering bitcoin

11464  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: What is bitcoin's largest obstacle to bitcoin adoption? on: January 21, 2019, 08:08:57 AM
Bitcoin is still not widely used in Venezuela. I have some friends from there that doesn't know anything about bitcoin and say that really only few people use it, and those people usually have a much better financial and cultural situation than the average Venezuelan.

I believe bitcoin adoption needs more time, more easy to use software... Probably even a centralized wallet like coinbase which can block your funds or something like that when you lose your phone with your keys. Unfortunately, saving seeds and privatekeys are not for everyone

In Brazil, majority of people doesn't even have a bank account , and many people have no kind of legal ID. I have no doubt that Venezuela situation is even worse.

Edit: corrected typos
11465  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: bitcoin balance vs fiat debt? on: January 20, 2019, 04:50:53 PM
If I have to sell my bitcoin stash just to be debt free, I would do that.
This is absolutely the sensible option. Replace bitcoin with stocks, shares, gold, whatever you want, and it still holds true.

In any smart financial plan, after building up a small "emergency fund" of quick-to-access fiat for paying for true emergencies like burst pipes or car breakdowns, then the next step is to pay off all high interest debt - credit cards, store credit, loans, etc. Only once your only remaining debts are things like a low interest mortgage or student loan, should you consider investing your money elsewhere. If you have a crap mortgage deal and are paying way too much, I'd pay that off first too.

That's Right.

Debt is terrible for any personal finance plan, and anyone should focus on the opposite: invest your money , like lending it.

Where I live one of the best investments is called treasure direct, which is a plataform where you can lend money to the government. So you receive the interests, you don't pay them.

Every dollar you can save may work for you, to make more money. If you are in debt, you have to pay more and more money over the time...

Bitcoin is a nice to invest only after you have your emergency fund and no mortgages.
11466  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Let's talk about Privacy on: January 20, 2019, 10:32:50 AM
Nowadays, there is no such thing as confidentiality. Our computer and our phone collects absolutely all the information about us and you can’t fight it.

Of course you can fight it. Read the topic for a few tips.

Stop using Google and it's products for example is a great step.
11467  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | 0.00075 BTC/post on: January 19, 2019, 12:12:36 AM
Most campaigns out there have merit requirement of 10-20 earned merits. A lot of the best campaigns still have those kind of requisites
The average here is 343, and median 212. That's far above "normal".

Congrats to darkstar and participants
11468  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where to invest BTC other than in casino bankrolls? on: January 18, 2019, 09:35:43 PM
It's possible to lend BTC at Bitfinex and Poloniex, but interest rates are ridiculously low.

I don´t think lending to those websites is worth the risk of losing your bitcoin. When you lose access to your private keys, you lost control over your coins and you may lose them.

The higher the rates you find out there, the higher the risk and the chances of getting scammed. THere is no easy money =/
11469  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Bitcoin - Perguntas e Respostas. on: January 18, 2019, 02:49:35 PM
Pergunta: Quais projetos similares antecederam o bitcoin? Por que nao deram certo?

Essa é uma pergunta que eu nem sei bem a resposta, valendo mais merits pra boas pesquisas
11470  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to set up personal board list? on: January 18, 2019, 02:07:17 AM
You can also make your own watchlist.

Just click on the watchlist on the top of the page and then you can customize it with the boards you wish to follow. You doesn't need to ignore any, unless you want to.

After configuring your watchlist, you will see updated topics of those boards on your watchlist
11471  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people think technical knowlege is required to invest in or adopt bitcoin. on: January 18, 2019, 01:50:20 AM
I agree but not entirely.

I have no idea how visa works and I use it everyday.

But to use bitcoin just a few times per month need a lot of knowledge. You need to understand privatekeys/public keys pair concept, how to take care of your funds, etc.

Bitcoin allowed users to finally hold their money without a bank, however that comes with responsibility over your  security.

Also, Bitcoin applications need to evolve a lot more to be easier for daily use.
11472  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BAD NEWS on: January 18, 2019, 01:13:07 AM
Actually those "news" are not that bad - the issue was related to the hard-fork which has been postponed now and a new ETA will be available soon (most likely there'll be more information released today).

I think it's bad news, because every delay on the road map is a bad news. And ethereum is delaying everything for a long time. This is certainly bad for investors.

POS was supposed to be on already, or at least there should be a  prevision about the launching date of Casper or Constantinople at least
11473  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Grin | PoW Mining | Electronic transactions for all. Community driven. on: January 18, 2019, 12:05:22 AM
Hey what exchanges are  negotiating grin? Just curious about this project, I want to track price movements but couldn't find it in cmc.
11474  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: cryptocoin guaranteed by gold on: January 17, 2019, 11:00:50 PM
we are talking only about big players of course. its senseless to think if tomorrow someone will tell you HEY I GOT GOLD-BACKED COIN trust me to look. u have 10 friends, and each one has 1kg of gold, right? you putting it to one place and issuing coins, start to use it as you want in fact when you spend coin, rights for your gold transfers to the receiver and he is allowed to withdraw it from "guarant"/vault/storage

Big players such as tether/bitfinex?

They are somehow big, and even so not many people trust that they are really backed up, because they still lack a true audition
11475  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: cryptocoin guaranteed by gold on: January 17, 2019, 10:16:48 PM
you'd never buy bitcoin in 2008 neither ))) never say never, and it's all about trust and transparency. i doubt you avoid it if everyone around you starts using it on everyday basis with its value 1Oz/coin for example.

It's not a matter of how many people are using tether or a backed gold cryptocurrency.

I don't believe some cryptocurrency company will really have all that USD or gold backed up, because this sector is mostly not regulated, so there are many scammers around. A crypto backed by gold would probably not be really backed up. Unless there is some big company behind...
11476  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Definition of Winning in Gambling on: January 17, 2019, 10:13:14 PM
I believe winning in gambling is having fun , spending the least amount of money possible. Also, it's possible to make money, but that's a plus.

When I was younger I used to play poker with my friends. My goal was to pay the pizza with my profits (I was able to do that often). It was a very pleasant experience to eat that pizza for free
11477  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [LIST] Obtain Criptocurrencies without buying them on: January 17, 2019, 09:22:58 PM
Airdrops are the one I dislike the most inthis list
I Know there were some profitable Airdrops in the past, but now most of them are just giving you cents for tasks in Twitter, telegram Bitcointalk etc just to inflate their numbers. They even require kyc sometimes.

They are definitely not worth your time.
11478  Economy / Gambling / Re: MINING FACTORY ★★★ EPIC SLOTS OUT NOW! ★★★ TRUE FLIP 🐬 PAYS FOR REVIEWS! on: January 17, 2019, 09:07:10 PM

Hello.

I played about 3 times the trial version. I lost all money twice (made some winnings) and on the third one I got some gains. This is the image of my biggest winning. For a initial 0.01 BTC, I ended up with 0.0138, which is a 38% gain in a few minutes. Very good, however I lost all Money in my first 2 tries lol

I played on an Android version 7.0. The game ran smooth and the graphics and sounds are very beautiful and I had a pleasant experience.

I liked the full screen mode, however it kept going to normal mode when I moved my phone, so I played in normal screen. When I won the prize, I was already in normal screen mode, as you can see in the screenshot.

I was a bit confused about the game at first too. I agree with darkstar and there should be some lines explaining what combo made the winning. Great and very fun game.

Trueflip is a nice plataform, I discovered it just a few weeks ago. I will certainly keep my eyes in it.
11479  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How important are TPS? on: January 17, 2019, 09:25:35 AM
If we're going for a decentralized blockchain platform - how important are TPS in your opinion?

Transactions per second, or tps, is not very important.

You should not worry about scalability until you have a scalability problem.
Scalability became a marketing, basically to fool people into bcash.

What if i told you that I have a website that can handle 1 million users at the same time. Will you go to my website? Ofc not, because that's not important. Coins such as nano, which only offer scalability, are just making money now and offer nothing.

Everytime you see a centralized coin with high tps, ask yourself: why don't I use visa?
11480  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hello and good morning. Look forward to the next days and weeks. on: January 16, 2019, 10:49:15 PM
