11481  Local / Brasil / Re: Agora é Lei - Corretoras e também usuários deverão prestar contas à receita. on: May 09, 2019, 01:29:17 AM

11483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Current bounty campaigns that can make you rich? on: May 08, 2019, 06:48:57 PM
So you want to get rich by writing 30-40 posts a week, retweeting and joining telegram groups?
Good luck, you will need it.

Bounties may allow you to accumulate a few Satoshis, and in a few years maybe even a few BTC. But make you rich? What's going on here ? Lol

11485  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tether as Debt Security. And Tether Rich List on: May 08, 2019, 05:35:45 PM
Wow this is shocking to me. How come this exchanges are so invested in this "Tether" company? Who would exchange $1 for worthless 1 Tether? How this started? I must read about this a lot i see.

Tether makes it easier for many users to invest.  Lots of people who live in different countries cannot buy USD, but they can buy tether. Tether is also interesting to avoid being taxed, and you will pay taxes only when cashing out.
So those exchanges are investing in tether because having some tether helps them to get more volume and customers

11488  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Transação presa na Blockchain, me ajudem por favor! on: May 08, 2019, 04:59:07 PM

11489  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Can you shcedule payments with a wallet? on: May 08, 2019, 03:57:49 PM
Yes it is possible. Blockchain allows that

However I don't know which wallet allows you to do it easily for a newbie
11490  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: About Hash of Block... on: May 08, 2019, 01:08:16 PM
There is no guarantee for a block to be "solved" every 10 mins, in fact you will have a hard time trying to find a block that took exactly 10 mins to be solved, the algorithm "tries" to make it so, and in the long run when you take a good amount of data , the average will be close to 10 mins.

imagine you have 5 students, you ask them questions and want to ensure they need 10 mins to solve the question, when they answer in 5 mins, you will multiply the difficulty of the question by 2 to make them consume 10 mins, then maybe 1 student leaves, and the 4 of the need 15 mins to answer, you know it's too difficult for them, so you reduce the difficulty of the question by 1/3 to make them consume 10 mins, but then another 2 students join and they solve it in 3 mins , so on and so forth.

that's not exactly how the difficulty of bitcoin adjusts , but the concept is the same.

Statistically, blocks are solved every 10 minutes because the difficult is adjusted every 2016 blocks according to the network hash rate.
It´s not very precise, but every 2016 blocks, the average time of each block will be 10 minutes.

As there are not only 5 miners, but thousands, there is less variation than in your example.

11491  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Hot vs Cold Wallet Cryptocurrency on: May 08, 2019, 01:01:57 PM
There are also other kind of wallets, such as desktop wallets, mobile wallets, paper wallets...

What really matters is how the private keys are generated and stored.

Hardware wallets generate privatekeys offline and store them offline as well, this is why they are safer.

online wallets and mobile wallets generate and store them in an online environment, this is why they are not safe.

A desktop wallet may generate and store the keys offline, if the computer is properly airgapped.
11492  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Transação presa na Blockchain, me ajudem por favor! on: May 08, 2019, 12:52:27 PM

Basta colocar no Google "How to accelerate a Bitcoin transaction" que você achará várias opções.

11493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Paying low fees in Ethereum - Gas Limit, Gas Price and Gwei on: May 08, 2019, 12:23:37 PM
Sending erc20 tokens from wallet to exchange consume more gas then sending ethereuem to exchange why the difference after all the both gas are paid using ethereuem and not the token.

Because send ethereum consumes a different processing power than sending tokens.

https://metamask.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360015489411-How-Much-Ether-You-Need-To-Send-Tokens
A standard Ether transfer TX will be 21000 gas & a gas price of 8 GWEI.
With tokens, the amount of gas is typically 200000 gas

Welcome to the forum. This is a place where people learn and discuss about BTC.

I find it so hard to use BTC as a payment method. Where do you live? Do you use it online?
11495  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to get notified when someone mentions your name on bitcointalk.! on: May 08, 2019, 10:17:48 AM
. As for spammers the bot will be of no use for them simply because they don't really contribute to any valuable discussion.

I think even spammers may be benefited by the bot.
If they ever say something reasonable, they will be quoted and notified. This is incentive them to answer that notification and probably say something reasonable again
11496  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to calculate bitcoin transaction size and fees on: May 08, 2019, 09:56:23 AM
I just remembered something which is related to the subject of having many inputs.

Electrum allows you to chose which input to use. There is an option "coins" which let's you see all your inputs and choose which one to spend. This is particularly interesting to do if you have many inputs, because you can consolidate as many as possible in a transaction of fees are low, or use the minimum as possible of they are high.

Remember that any additional BTC will become a new input that will go to a change address.
11497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Paying low fees in Ethereum - Gas Limit, Gas Price and Gwei on: May 08, 2019, 09:35:06 AM
I never send an Ethereum transaction without consulting ETH Gas Station. It shows me when and what time the ETH network usually has less pending transactions. I just wish it shows alerts though. Check it out.  https://ethgasstation.info/

You are right, this is a very good website. Just added to the op Smiley

Thanks for reminding me
11498  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance just lost 7000 BTC in a security breach on: May 08, 2019, 12:27:55 AM
Omg. This is crazy
7000 BTC is like 40 million dollars!!!

Thankfully the ecosystem is now more prepared for moments like this, we are not in Mt.Gox times anymore.
I hope binance really pays it users and recover itself.

This is a good warning for everyone. Keep your private keys!

I didn't knew this demo.

I feel so inadequate.... I prefer this old school forum Smiley
