11501  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Real Reason Why Bitcoin Price Shot Up Today on: October 26, 2019, 06:58:36 AM
it has nothing to do with anything and doesn't really require any kind of reason whatsoever.
it is a simple recovery that because bitcoin was undervalue it happened in a fast and big manner within a very short time. have you forgotten how the price shoot up happened this year when price first broke $4k levels? that is being repeated today once again!

It's not a "simple recovery" in my opinion. It was manipulated, and caused plebs-short sellers' positions to hit their stop-losses, and/or got short-squeezed/margin-called on the way up. A domino effect. Cool

the "recovery" was a simple one not the drop. i completely agree with the rest, the "drop" was not simple at all, it was a manipulation (specially since there was no real logical reason for the drop and we already had the correction too) and a lot of panic sells like they always are and the result was also the exact thing as always.
11502  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on Hal Finney/Craig Wright being Satoshi? on: October 26, 2019, 06:38:51 AM
Craig Scammer started his scam recently (mainly in 2017) which is 3 years after Hal Finney's death so it wasn't exactly right away. and his intentions have always been clear as his scam is a very obvious one even though some people try to keep their head in the sand!

as for Hal Finney being Satoshi, i don't think so because he had communications with Satoshi and if he were Satoshi that would make him a crazy person communicating with himself and that doesn't match the profile. why would he create Satoshi and then also get involved with bitcoin and communicate with it as if to somone else.
11503  Economy / Speculation / Re: [2019-10-25] Bitcoin price doesn't care about manipulators and is up $1200 in 2h on: October 26, 2019, 06:32:58 AM
Oscillators are running high on the 1-hour and 4-hour time frames. So in the short term we're probably in for a pullback off $8,800. I do believe now that $7,300 was the bottom of this correction though.

I'll be more confident in that assessment once we form a higher low on the 4-hour, and after seeing how the next trading range develops. I'd prefer to see bulls hold strong in the $8,000s......that would make for an epic bear trap!

Dripping back below $7,700 would be a very bearish sign. That possibility is still there. There's a major decision point coming soon.

I also believe this was the bottom. The recovery was very strong, much stronger than the panic was during the dump. To be honest, there was almost no panic and the sales on bitstamp were measured perfectly to manipulate futures, which follows only 3 or 4 biggest exchanges, out of which bitstamp has the lowest volume and was the best target for manipulation. We'll see if they try this again.

i actually disagree. the "bottom" was $9500-$9800 and anything below that was considered "below bottom" which makes those prices a type of reverse or negative bubble which had to pop. and the evidence of the market reaction and the way this "reverse pop" took place supports that too, as you can see it was a sudden rise (similar to bubble pops which are sudden drops). both are similarly catastrophic as it is the characteristics of bubbles.
11504  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: (How to) monetize gains if coin is traded on Coinsbit only on: October 26, 2019, 05:34:06 AM
the only exchange this particular coin trades on.  As a US citizen I am prohibited from any cash withdrawals

is it only "cash withdrawals" or any kind of withdrawal?
because if you can for example withdraw bitcoin then you can easily dump the shitcoin for bitcoin and then withdraw bitcoin instead and then you can use any other decent exchange to sell bitcoin.
this is a lot safer than trusting someone else to do it for you! the cost should also be the same since you have to pay that person too.

11506  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Mega Breakout - 56 billion dollars in a few hours !! on: October 26, 2019, 05:07:42 AM
first of all it is not "crypto" it is bitcoin that is rising and its rise is being falsely reflected over the entire altcoin market consisting of thousands of shitcoin that are trading against bitcoin but report their prices in USD!!!

secondly, it was very well expected to see a huge panic-y breakout like this when the price started reversing. in fact people were expecting this the day price fell below $10k that we are going to see a FOMO buy. the money is the same money that went out when price fell, it was "waiting" to enter as soon as reversal occurred.

2. Because they follow BTC, and then there is some fomo.
that is wrong.
altcoins have never followed bitcoin, their value against bitcoin is actually declining. the reason why you see a rise is because sites like CMC are reporting the price in USD instead of BTC. all they had to do was not fall that much against BTC to show a rise in their USD value!!!
11507  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] Bittrex - Next generation exchange (btc/ltc/eac/ppc/rdd/ftc/and more) on: October 26, 2019, 04:44:04 AM
Do you really believe they are faking volume? Is there any evidence for this?
If true, this will be a very big problem for Bittrex as more and more users will walk away.

every exchange is faking volume to some extent specially those that are in competition since there are alternatives that do the exact same thing as them. a one-big exchange like bittrex which was near rank 1 that has lots all of its users (they walked away a while ago when they pulled their scam) is surely faking volume. there are also ways that you can verify it which i am not going to waste my time about, methods such as watching the order books and order history and comparing them for size frequency and shady behavior.
11508  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] Bittrex - Next generation exchange (btc/ltc/eac/ppc/rdd/ftc/and more) on: October 25, 2019, 11:53:58 AM
they have been losing traders and volume and with that they are losing revenue, with the recent ban of another 30+ countries they sank more in the ranking on coinmarketcap and went above 100. now they are trying to get some volume back by giving people some free money (the $25 "credit") but i don't think it can save their business anymore, it is sinking ever since they decided to scam their users. now they have to report fake volume to remain close to 100 and not drop anymore... 11509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your favorite way to receive money as a gift? Cash or digital.. on: October 25, 2019, 11:00:02 AM
money has been turning into digital form for way longer than bitcoin has existed and also the term "digital currency" has nothing to do with "crypto-currency" or "bitcoin" for that matter. bitcoin is a type of digital currency. and when people say "digital" they usually mean other means of receiving payment that is not in hard cash like a gift card, paypal,...
so don't get too excited when seeing that poll Wink
11510  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Satoshi... on: October 25, 2019, 10:49:50 AM
you are overthinking it waaaaaay too much and are taking the statement out of context.
the design is there, the explanation is also there and sometimes you can't just keep repeating yourself over and over to people. either they understand it or they resist understanding it. you can't spend your entire time trying to convince people why and how the system works fine!
11511  Economy / Speculation / Re: [2019-10-24] Bitcoin Price Crashed Today: 2 Reasons on: October 25, 2019, 05:10:11 AM
you have zoomed in way too much on one drop and are ignoring the main reason for this drop that happened over a month ago! zoom out and look at the charts, ever since price dropped below $10k with a massive dump in a couple of hours, investors have been scared and haven't had that much confidence to come back in. that has opened up the doors for putting more pressure on the price and shorting bitcoin in the process to make profit while this fear exists in the market.
everything else like these 2 nonsense news are irrelevant and are noise to FUD the weak hands.
11512  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does UTXO have any indication as to price? on: October 25, 2019, 04:57:12 AM
I am under the impression that UTXOs indicate a higher number of Coins being hodled.
UTXO is unspent transaction output and that is exactly what it is, nothing more. the only thing we can conclude based on that is that adoption is growing. i don't think we can say by how much and that only works when you look at the set in a bigger interval like yearly not anything shorter.

Quote
This seems to be consistent with the great pump and subsequent collapse of 2017/18.
again it is "unspent transaction output", during 2017 bitcoin was under a sever spam attack. one form of spam attack is to increase the size of UTXO set as the attacker creates thousands of transactions every second and that causes the spike.
it has nothing to do with the price.

Quote
However, since the beginning of 2019, UTXO has been skyrocketing continually with no sign of slowing. Does this indicate more holders? Do you take this to be a positive?
it is only "holders" if those outputs aren't spent for long time such as years. and unless you find a way to analyze that you can not make that conclusion.
as i said that increase mostly shows adoption, and that is a positive thing.
11513  Other / Meta / Re: Bump changes feedback on: October 25, 2019, 04:35:53 AM
Overall it's pretty good and personally i'd like to see it's implemented on more boards (such as Bitcoin Discussion & Altcoin Discussion).

i don't think bump makes any sense in any other board that is not announcement-y and it may even make things worse in other boards.

for example in altcoin announcement board, a topic that was made 5 years ago (assuming the coin isn't dead) is still worth being on top today as it is still announcing the same valid thing. but a discussion topic in bitcoin discussion board that was started 5 years ago has no place to be on top!

also another point of "bump" feature was to remove the "bump by posting in the thread" incentive which only exists in those announcement-y boards.
11514  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HOW to translate crypto info/news into decisons? on: October 25, 2019, 04:24:31 AM
Been trading for 6 months now and i don't feel comfortable at all.

that is perfectly normal and you will probably keep felling that even after a couple of years of trading in this market because it is still very unpredictable at times like bitcoin right now and also if you are trading altcoins then things are even worse because they are always unpredictable due to their heavily manipulated markets.

just try to reduce your risks and always look back and try to analyze the mistakes you made in different trades so that you can figure out where you went wrong and not repeat it in the future.
11515  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How to sign an Unsigned RawTx from 2-of-3 Multi-Sig Address using Bitcoin Core? on: October 25, 2019, 03:44:07 AM
But, I used the following command to generate RawTx in Hex format...

that command signs the rawtx that you already have (generates signature not the tx itself) and in your unsigned rawtx you must have already set a locktime.
in that hex string check the last 4 bytes (8 characters) that is the locktime. use decoderawtransaction to decode and see your locktime value.

i am not sure if BIP68 causes the same error (i had some trouble with it recently) but it may. the easiest way to get rid of it is to change your transaction version to 1 instead of 2.
11516  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How to sign an Unsigned RawTx from 2-of-3 Multi-Sig Address using Bitcoin Core? on: October 24, 2019, 06:19:42 PM
non-final (code 64) (code -26)
What does this error signifies?
Please note that, my Core Wallet is not synced so far.

i have seen this error only when locktime is involved and it is not yet reached. check your transaction locktime and make sure it is set to a recent past block height. in this case i don't think not being synced changes anything since your node should still know the highest block height.
11517  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: [OCT 2019] Fees are low, use this opportunity to Consolidate your small inputs! on: October 24, 2019, 05:32:46 PM
Force of habit, Sorry! In fact I keep using their .info domain TLD extension. Still using core wallet and had it set to 1 sat too, so I guess that worked. Slowly weening my way to Electrum ... but since I still have my full node, I might run my own Electrum server.

Got a list of other block explorers that are "good"?

don't worry i do that regularly myself too. specially since when i type in my address bar my history brings it up Tongue

as for other explorers, the best one is http://blockchair.com/ at the moment that has a ton of features specially if you are interested in sorting and analyzing the blockchain data in your browser.
https://btc.com/ that i mentioned above is decent since it has all those different size values.
there is also https://live.blockcypher.com/ that has a bunch of other altcoins including Grin
there is https://www.blockonomics.co/ which (i think) has the only API that supports SegWit
https://www.smartbit.com.au/ also has some nice features such as exploring OP_Return outputs
11518  Economy / Speculation / Re: "BTC Flash Crash Caused By Drop In Network Velocity" on: October 24, 2019, 06:27:54 AM
~ believes Byte Tree CEO, James Bennet.
bitcoinist.com

just another idiot trying to talk about something he doesn't even understand. and his nonsense is being published as a valid information by a shitty site desperately trying to get some traffic.

Now, I am wondering what can be causes of this dampening of demand for Bitcoin? Can this be a big symptom that we can be going back to the $5000 which a level I really fear?

the "demand" for bitcoin is still the same. only a big sell off took place which pushed the price down, that doesn't mean demand has changed!
and like always it is not possible to predict the price in an unpredictable situation like this where most people are standing on the sidelines watching.
11519  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some advice/help for a newbie on: October 24, 2019, 06:07:19 AM
my intentions are to hold for a longer period of time and not mess with the exchange(s) it currently trades on.

altcoins have never performed well in the long run and they are not about to start it now since nothing has changed about them being pump and dump schemes. best case scenario is in rare cases where you make a profit but it is so small that it doesn't justify the risks you took to get to that profit not to mention that you miss out on the profit that you could have made if you hadn't locked up your money in that altcoins and instead put it in bitcoin or anywhere else!

Received Time    2019-10-23 12:25:57
Lock Time    Block: 600699

Inputs and Outputs
Total Input    xxxxx.xxxxxxxx BTC
Total Output    xxxxx.xxxxxxxx BTC
Fees    0.00000224 BTC
Fee per byte    0.58 sat/B
Fee per weight unit    0.25 sat/WU

Below 1 sat is possible! Wait only 32 blocks.

you should seriously stop using blockchain.com explorer (or any others that are similar) to look at things. it is literary the worst explorer out there at this point and they refuse to fix their bugs although their platform is filled with them.

just as we no longer have "block size" and instead have "block weight", we no longer have transaction size and instead we have "virtual transaction size" and fees are calculated based on that.
your virtual tx size is your transaction weight (896) divided by 4 and rounded up = 224 which makes your fee 1 satoshi/vb

use https://btc.com explorer to see these numbers.
