Yeh, i tried this. I do not know the password  Angry
But after all it gives me new wallet
Which password? Just select BIP39 seed and put the derivation path.
After this step it shows password window
Just leave it blank. Is it generating a different wallet even after you do that?

Try this:

1. Start Electrum, choose to restore a standard wallet, then restore from seed, enter your seed, then click options and check the 'BIP39 seed' box. -> Click Next.
2. Blockchain.info follows the BIP 44 standard for derivation paths, so the default account has a derivation path m/44'/0'/0'/0

11506  Other / Meta / Re: mass ban on: October 15, 2018, 02:10:58 PM
Not to give you any ideas but you've been IP banned, so any new account you try posting from will be banned as well. Basically its the mods telling you, you're not welcome in BCTtalk not now, not ever
I'm pretty sure that's not true. The forum doesn't ban accounts based solely on the IP.

If we find out that an account is owned by this user, he will be banned for ban evasion. Otherwise, he will probably never get caught.
11507  Other / Meta / Re: how to get my account back on: October 14, 2018, 09:27:52 PM
The last time your account changed the password was 1 month ago (8/9). Was that you? When was the last time you logged in with your account?

If you think you got hacked, you can follow the instructions on this thread: Recovering hacked accounts or accounts with lost passwords

No, that was most definitely not me. I haven’t changed my password in more than a year. That was stupid on my part since the password wasn’t very complex to begin with. I will check out that link.
Then you definitely got hacked. The only think you can do is sign a message from a staked address and sent it to the admins (as explained in the thread I linked above). P.S: it’s going to take a while for them to get back to you.
11508  Other / Meta / Re: my account is blocked, what should I do on: October 14, 2018, 05:32:36 PM
What is the message you get when you log in? Is the time of the ban specified in the message?

11510  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Service to withdraw bitcoin in EUR to bank account with low fees on: October 14, 2018, 05:07:54 PM
I am at blockchain.info at the moment.
Blockchain.info is more of a wallet than an exchange. That's why their fees are so high (you are paying for the convenience of selling BTC directly from your wallet).

If you want to save money, you need to use a dedicated exchange like Coinbase or Bitfinex.
11511  Economy / Reputation / Re: Abuse of another DT user. @actmyname on: October 14, 2018, 01:09:45 PM
run away with 40$ really? in what world do you think i live?
Why would you come back after 1 month asking for money exactly when you lost your negative trust?

Your account is pretty much useless. So, you probably tried to get a few extra bucks before leaving it forever.
11512  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoins not Received on: October 14, 2018, 12:41:50 PM
So you sent the coins to your Dream Market account and they didn't credit it to your account yet? The transaction already got more than 200 confirmations. Have you tried to contact their support?

11513  Other / Meta / Re: How did they get 1000 merits? on: October 14, 2018, 12:35:09 PM
I don't think Vod keeps track of the deleted messages, which are deleted by the user itself. As far as i understand those indicated in there are messages deleted by a moderator.
He can't really keep track of this. He knows when a post is deleted by the mod because he's always monitoring the mod log. But when a user deletes his post, nothing shows up anywhere.

11515  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Nano Ledger S Compatibility with Altcoins on: October 14, 2018, 02:45:08 AM
But now, it seems like it supports a huge list... how did this happen?  Was it recent or how long ago?  I knew the nano ledger s supported more altcoins than most hardware wallets but back then i thought, well certain coins i want it still doesn't support.
They are working on adding as many coins as possible. Many of them are just a fork of already supported coins, so adding them is pretty easy.

As of now, you could store up to 18 altcoins in one nano ledger s device is that correct?
According to this page, they actually support 47 coins: https://www.ledger.com/pages/supported-crypto-assets

So say you have altcoins that are in an exchange or your own wallet, let say coss and funfair... i don't have these altcoins, i just looked the list of coins that nano ledger s supports and saw these 2 coins as these were 2 coins i thought about buying but never did.  So say i buy these 2 altcoins in an exchange.  I could keep it there or move them to nano ledger s.  So i have to download both of these wallets on the nano ledger s correct?  Then send them from exchange to the nano ledger s?
Yes.

Now here is what im a bit confused.  I use nano ledger s with chrome app as i have not downloaded ledgerlive yet.  But -when i download ledgerlive, i notice that many altcoins don't work with ledgerlive.  So does that mean i have to use the chrome app with those other altcoins like coss and funfair?  Because it seem like ledgerlive is only compatible with a limited amount of coins only from looking at the list?  So that mean with btc, i use ledgerlive... but with other coins, i have to use the chrome app?  However what confuses me is people say they will close the chrome store.  So if they do that, then how you use those other altcoins.
No. You can use the Ledger Live to send and receive the currently fully supported coins (e.g BTC, BCH, ETH) and need a third party wallet to use the other coins (e.g NEON for NEO). I already said that in a previous post you asked the same question... Everything that needed the Chrome app is supported in the new Ledger Live wallet.

Also i thought about something else.  Isn't it better to maybe store your altcoins in an exchange or different exchange so you have lesser risk?  But of course if you keep everything in the nano ledger s, it should be safe.  And exchanges are not that safe but im talking about like bittrex and binance.  But to those of you who have a nano ledger s, do you basically keep all your coins in it rather than keep it in exchange assuming you are not trading?  Obviously if you are trading daily, that would be foolish because you would be paying fees to keep transferring funfair or coss or any altcoin you have from wallet to exchange account daily.
It's never better to store your coins in an exchange. That's a fact.

But if you are holding, should you 100% send every coin you have to your nano ledger s?  Example say you have a waves wallet and keep waves there.  I assume no point of keeping it there and just send it to nano ledger?
Obviously that's the best option.
11516  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Nano Ledger S Ledger Live? on: October 13, 2018, 04:42:11 PM
Thanks for the response.  But why would anyone not put a password for it?
I never said you shouldn't. I said that it doesn't matter if you forget your password because you can always set it up again.

Because if you don't and say someone has access to your laptop, they could see how much coins you have even though they can't access it.
Literally what I said above.
11517  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Nano Ledger S Ledger Live? on: October 13, 2018, 12:33:35 PM
Hey hcp, thanks for the response.

Okay makes sense with what you mentioned that it reads your thing and find all addresses and balances.  But here, you basically put a password that you remember like similar to like electrum right?  Thus if you don't, anyone who has access to your laptop could basically turn that program on and see how much cryptocurrency you have?  But you always have to remember this password right?  What if you forget this password?
Could you install it again?  But as long as you use it with the chrome app thats still fine?  Unless of course they stop the chrome app?
The only thing you need to remember is your Ledger PIN or your backup seed (have it backed up). If you lose your password, you can just set up your wallet into Ledger Live again.

There is only a password option for privacy, so you can see your balance without having to connect the Ledger Nano S to your computer while not allowing anyone on your computer to see your wallet.

hi there.  So you recommend me to update the ledger live now correct?  Also do i need my nano ledger s connected to my laptop for this process right?
Just make sure you are on the latest version. After setting up your wallet, you don’t need to have it connected to update the Ledger Live app or view the balances of the supported coins.

what is the official ledger site?  Just want to make sure as im going to type it out on chrome.

www.ledger.com

or

www.ledgerwallet.com
Both are legit.
11520  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Nano Ledger S Ledger Live? on: October 12, 2018, 09:39:04 PM
okay so i connected my ledger to my computer.  But when i do this, i don't get the message of updating to ledgerlive.  So could i use it as is now or do i have to go directly to the website to download ledgerlive?
If nothing shows up, just go to Ledger’s website and download it manually.

also does that mean if you use ledgerlive, its much easier to use?  Example i know if you have other coins besides bitcoin, you need to sign out of the btc wallet and go to another wallet in the chrome app etc.  So ledgerlive is different?
Yes. For some coins (the ones with full support) you can view all your balances in one screen and send and receive without having to open a different app.

For the coins without full support, you can only install them from the Ledger Live but need a third party wallet to manage them (e.g NEON wallet to manage your NEO).
