11521  Economy / Economics / Re: Stock market vs. Bitcoin??? on: August 15, 2017, 06:01:59 PM
So many ignorant replies here, it's breathtaking.

The stock market usually is more stable than crypto, but that's not a given.  I think certain stocks are much safer than bitcoin, but not all of them.  I'd stay away from penny stocks.  And if you buy solid companies that pay good dividends,  you've got passive income right there, which you're not going to get with bitcoin.

I say do both--and that's exactly what I do, with much more money in the stock market than crypto.  But that's just me.

It is now 3 days since bitcoinboy said he will answer all the complaints of the participants. I send my complaints on why i did not receive my payment with 21 valid posts excluding the excluded posts.
Probably because you're a one-liner shitposter who should never have been accepted in the first place and definitely shouldn't be paid for that garbage.  Hope you enjoyed advertising for free.
11523  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to make locked paper wallets that unlock when btc rises above X price? on: August 15, 2017, 04:51:04 PM
There is literally nothing but disadvantage to developing something like this--and it's totally unnecessary anyway.  Think about this before you do something stupid that you can't reverse.
11524  Economy / Speculation / Re: Remember $4,300 this is one of your last chance to get cheap coin on: August 15, 2017, 04:44:39 PM
You might not see prices this low ever again, remember $4,300.  Likely the last time you see cheap Bitcoin.

Read around here in late 2013. Of course things are radically different since then, but human nature isn't.

In my experience when you read 'we will never see x price again' x price comes back a few hours later and then a few weeks later people are pining for it.
Indeed.  There are so many noobs to investing--not just bitcoin investing--it's ridiculous.   Prices never go straight up forever, and shmucks are getting caught up in the bull market delirium.
11525  Economy / Speculation / Re: What makes this person from Goldman Sachs a expert on Bitcoin? on: August 15, 2017, 04:29:29 AM
she made a couple of predictions so far which were true:
- the bottom of the dip at $1800ish
- the rise after it
and now this.

although i am still a bit skeptical of all this because i have a theory that the dip speculation happened because it was famous and created expectations so it caused some sort of resistance around that price.
and the rise is obvious. price is going up with a lot of strength. you are not so out of place if you say it will go up to $5000 for example.

and when articles like that fill the internet again they make expectations. people expect it to go that high so the sell pressure until that mark goes away and appears when it reaches there. and market maker doesn't disapprove of this either Wink
Yeah, I noticed that too.  Methinks if one has as much dough as Goldman Sachs,  one can move the market and thereby make those predictions come true.  Know what I mean?   So I wouldn't poo poo this.  They may be disgusting pig capitalists,  but they didn't get that way by being ignorant of markets.
11526  Economy / Services / Re: Social Signature & Avatar Campaign on: August 15, 2017, 03:55:44 AM

11527  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Dividing your salary. on: August 15, 2017, 01:12:44 AM
I'd say up to 5% if you can do it.  Take care of all your needs first,  or else you'll end up having to sell and it may not be at the price you want.   I'd get into a retirement plan too, if you can.  Crypto is way more risky and bitcoin is at its all time high.   You say we're heading for the moon, but we may already be there.

You need to make at least 1 post in official Bounty Thread

I don't think you actually want those rules in place, LookRev: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2045928.msg20386758#msg20386758.

I checked that thread. This campaign is NOT a PPP (pay per post) campaign.

We are asking participate to at least make a post in our own ANN and bounty thread, so that we can make sure that the person who join the campaign are using our avatar and signature as requested. This enables us to award the people who do the work and contribute to this project, and filter out the ones that don't.

We are asking the participant to at lease make a post in our own ANN thread or bounty thread, not on this thread. This will let us know when they start the campaign.
That's bullshit, and you're also not listening: That's not allowed anymore.   You can't require users to post in any ANN thread.   You'll see.
11529  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Btctalk user is using a traffic generator bot (several thousand PV per hour) on: August 14, 2017, 06:49:47 PM
Sparksi keeps posting the same shit over and over, obviously an attempt to bump the thread against the rules.   Pretty obvious scam right there, plus all the noob accounts.  Typical.
11530  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Who's actually still selling this? It will be $5,000 - $8,000 in no time on: August 14, 2017, 05:06:34 PM
Why sell now, don't like money?  You will not feel too smart when you realize you could wait a few days and he $3,000 more for it.

there can be a lot of reasons to sell!
for example it can be for needing money and having no other way of getting that money apart from liquidating some assets such as bitcoin. (I sadly had to do this a couple of days ago)
or it can be a risk management thing where you have 30BTC and want to take 2 out just to get ~$8400 and enjoy life and have an easier sleep at nights.
If you do have 30BTC then i would really do the same thing too getting out with some partial cashouted bitcoins would be still fine and as you said enjoy life and dont just purely hold on tight with bitcoins because anytime we wont know if price would go back again. As long we do have the money we can anytime buy out again for cheaper prices on bitcoin.
Right, because we all know damn well you can't buy shit with bitcoin.  Lol

I'd be taking some money off the table now too, if I had any on it.  Traders take profits,  that's the nature of trading and there's nothing wrong with that.   That's why we get dips, and we're going to get one shortly,  believe me.  Don't fault people for selling.  There are many reasons for doing so.
11531  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Value on: August 14, 2017, 04:49:45 PM
I have no clue what's actually going to happen,  but the way the market is going, yeah.  $5000 isn't too damn far away.  But nothing in finance moves upward in a parabolic curve forever.   We're due for a dip.  And the next dip os going to be a doozie.  I also wonder when sig campaigns are going to start adjusting their rates downwards.   0.02x for a week of posting?  That's crazy.  What were they paying back in 2013?
11532  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why do so many people wait for "bitcoin to crash" to buy some, and miss out on: August 14, 2017, 02:26:31 AM
Duh, because it's at its all time high.  That's normal, plus there's no way to tell where we're going from here.   Lots of people bought at the high in 2013 and got burned.  Of course if they'd held on to that bitcoin they'd be in the black, but no one here has got a functioning crystal ball.
11533  Economy / Speculation / Re: HODLING IS GOOD on: August 14, 2017, 01:05:06 AM
At some time It will be time to cash out and I hope that day will be soon.

Short term speaking, the correction is imminent. I already cashed out some profits between $3950-$4050 today, and I am looking to cash out more profits one day before the activation of Segwit becomes reality. People that aren't interested in cashing anything out, which is quite understandable, can just continue with holding. For those interested in some short term buy back action, cashing out profits just before or after activation is the best thing to do. I still think back about those I was telling not to sell anything at the time the price was tanking below the $1900 level last month. I hope for them that they either didn't end up selling, or they at least bought back their coins at a premium back then.
I think that's smart.  Never anything shameful in taking a profit.  Me, on the other hand,  I don't have much bitcoin and what I have wasn't bought or earned at a low price, so I'm going to hold.  Nothing wrong with that either in my view.  But boy, I really wish I'd saved all that bitcoin I bought at $400 or so.  That stings a bit.
11534  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's make ‘Buy Bitcoin’ Sign Appears Everywhere! on: August 14, 2017, 12:59:01 AM
Not trying to be a dick, but wtf is a DOTA?

I kid, but joke to illustrate my point. We need bitcoin to be advertised in mainstream venues, to actually increase public awareness. A DOTA tournament, and the folks that would watch a DOTA tournament, pretty much beyond the shadow of a doubt already know what bitcoin is. I mean, a dude held up a bitcoin sign.

We need bitcoin signs a Beyonce concerts. And NBA/NFL games. At the Grammys and Emmys. And not some hastily made school project board job; we need the Foundation to actually sponsor said advertisement, like the hilarious but sad Bitcoin Bowl. It could have worked out great, its just they didnt really try to actually market. It seems they thought people were going to be so amazed at the virtues of bitcoin they would instantly adopt, I guess.. it didnt turn out too pretty, the merchants that pledged to accept btc didnt get customers. also a flawed campaign, because duh someone that would spend bitcoin obviously knows about it.

Le sigh.

Meh,  it's just a stunt.  People run through baseball fields naked and some people walk around with signs about 9/11 conspiracy theories.   The market speaks for itself.   When an asset rises this high this fast, you don't need to wave a sign or advertise it on TV or anywhere else.   That make sense?  Having said that, I wouldn't mind seeing bitcoin stickers on light poles in my town or something like that.   I swear I'm the only one who's into bitcoin. I know that's not true, but it feels like it.
11535  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in the moon!!! on: August 13, 2017, 11:09:04 PM
For those that buy bitcoin last week when the price fell and was dump to $1,785 can now take profit
The one who will sell bitcoin under $3000 right now will regret later just like the one who have sold under $2000 few days ago. After segwit price might see good surge because it will solve the long debated block size issue. Most of the miners are supporting segwit so there is no chance of network split or any other chaos.
Dammit, you were right,  fella.  Would not have put much stock in what you said, but now we're over $4000.  This is crazy--and I've been through the internet stock boom of the 90s.  This puts that to shame.

Makes me sick to think a bunch of illiterates are getting rich.  There's no fucking way I'm selling or spending bitcoin for quite a while.
11536  Other / Meta / Re: 504 error happening quite often. on: August 13, 2017, 08:02:32 PM
This is my theory: As the price goes up,  interest is generated and people flock here to talk bitcoin and join signature campaigns,  thereby slowing down the server. I could be completely wrong but this has happened before under very similar circumstances.   And don't worry,  it'll iron itself out eventually.
11537  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ohcastiel is paypal scammer [ POSTED IN CORRECT FORMAT ] on: August 13, 2017, 07:26:42 PM
OP you act like a complete noob.  People did try to warn you in that thread and you should've known better.   What the hell is wrong with you?   And it shouldn't surprise you that he left you retaliatory feedback.   That's par for the course around here.  Be smart next time and DON'T DO PAYPAL DEALS WITH NOOBS.
11538  Economy / Speculation / Re: The biggest bitcoin crash ever has begun. on: August 13, 2017, 04:55:42 PM
I swear sometimes that kwuckduck looks at charts upside down.   I also suspect that he's probably not as big a bear as he lets on, but I could be wrong.

Anyone shorting this market?   It might seem lime a good time to do so, but I don't have the brass testicubes to do it.  Nor do I even know where to.  One could stand to make a huge profit when the correction comes, which it's sure to do.  $4000 already.   Never would have thunk it!
11539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you know AnalCoin? on: August 13, 2017, 04:42:51 PM
I found out about it on YOBIT exchange. I was being pumped by one robot yesterday to 2.5k percent. I mean, apart from porn addicts and butt cancer patients, what else will anal coin be used for? I have no idea what is the specifics and trajectory of a coin like this.
Not even those populations would use it.  Lol.  I actually think Yobit gives this one away and I also think I have some dust from it.

It's not a coin that anyone actually buys, uses, thinks about,  or is going to survive the yobit graveyard.   It's an anal piece of shit, that's allaanyone needs to know about it.  If you made money off it, you got extremely lucky and that likely won't happen again.
11540  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Transaction FEES 0.00133153 BTC !!! on: August 13, 2017, 04:30:16 PM
Never heard of bitgrail or XRB.  Maybe you ought to use a different exchange or ditch that shitcoin or something,  because that's definitely a high fee.  If it's only traded on one exchange,  that should tell you something.

Still,  about 1.5 months ago I was getting charged $8 to send $50.  That was with mycelium.  Things have improved considerably since then.
