The irony is, bitcoin is the backbone of most alt crypts as most are only priced in and exchangeable for bitcoin. If you hold lots of different alt cryptos you'll find via watching your portfolio fluctuations that the average value of your investment is largely dependent on the value of bitcoin.

Bitcoin provides the essential lifeblood for the delicate alt world. Decreasing trust/price in bitcoin = decreasing trust/price in most alts, most of the time. On the other hand, if bitcoin really starts to take off again, I expect a lot of the alts to follow suit, which could quite possibly result in some exponential-sized gains.

Remember, if BTC goes up 20% and your alt goes up 100% in the same time period, thats a 240% gain if you cash out to dollars.

So, you got to respect the BTC. I came around pretty quick after realizing there's going to be at least 100 other alt coins introduced through the rest of this year. If you want this world to flourish, BTC needs to be strong enough to pump blood into all these little capillaries that, to extend the metaphor, will hopefully turn out to fuel useful brain structures and not fatty waste deposits.

I have plenty of coins, but can't get onto the exchange.

I wanted an almost dead coin , but with some shady exchanges at least.

66306.68881103 WUBS  Make an offer!!

Unless I see some other people active in this thread , 1 satoshi is too much for the entire supply of this coin.
So i'm not thinking of buying until i see some life signs.

OK I bid 2 satoshis. Plus shipping and handling.

Its now 4/17 and nothing, so, dead, and removed from AllCrypt.com's voting.

Awww wait how do I vote? Can I still cast my one vote? Wouldn't some people vote for it on the concept alone? Shucks.

I didn't read the 35 middle pages of this thread but have you guys done much exploration of what kinds of transactions the thief address leads to??? He gave a lot of this money to an account that has over $150 million worth of transactions in it!!

Address    1N2f642sbgCMbNtXFajz9XDACDFnFzdXzV

Are they some sort of underground criminal enterprise or something? Dr. Evil would be quite jealous... I hope the feds find this information and bust their stupid asses. Yes, if you make the world a stupider place for a living, you are stupid. It doesn't matter how much money it nets you, you're an idiot.

In case you're wondering if I'm a noob:

<------------ its right under my name.

following the crowd in stock investing is pretty much a guaranteed way to blow your investment funds and just get eaten to death by transaction costs. Your broker must love you for it though.

So the people that followed the crowd after the Google IPO in 2004 for 6-24 months afterwards are dumb for jumping on the bandwagon?

The people that followed Apple, Netflix, Amazon for 6-24 months after the IPO are also dumb losers, right?

Useful, revolutionary products often take years for their true potential to be adequately reflected in their market price. I'm not saying Dogecoin has proven itself to be these things, but I am saying this phenomenon is real and observable in market behavior.

Your stock tip is about the worst stock advice I have ever heard, following the crowd in stock investing is pretty much a guaranteed way to blow your investment funds and just get eaten to death by transaction costs. Your broker must love you for it though.

I think you are selling the game short and believe there's a lot more to come. But only time will tell.
11549  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your new opinion on: April 29, 2014, 01:16:29 AM
Nope and if you believe that your a naive noob that just got here..

The pattern is clear.. pump and dump .
Look at graphs on any exchange for any scammy clone coin and THAT is what Doge is a scammy clone coin with a bad rep.

So, is this the beginning of the next "pump"?

From my short timeframe and narrow point-of-reference, this coin's been a clear winner. It won't jump no 3000% from here (it already did the majority of the jumping), but 2-300% sure thing.

One of the rules of thumb for simple stock market investing was look for the clear, early winners and pile on the bandwagon. This strategy only works part of the time, but I am pretty sure we are still in the part.
11550  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Alt coin to invest in 2014 on: April 28, 2014, 09:58:37 PM
you can invest in BTC, its cheap now)
i think DRK and Black will have success in 2014

I agree, in order of what looks most promising in 2014, to me:

BTC
DRK
BC

then

NXT

I also like the idea behind PrimeCoin.

DarkCoin seems to have the fastest transaction times in my experience -- about 30 seconds on average. Much more ideal than BTC's 20 minutes or so.
11551  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TopCoin [TOP]- 12 game casino, 11 exchanges, Multipool, GREAT INVESTMENT! on: April 28, 2014, 11:17:09 AM
What are the chances of partnering with any of the hundreds of pre-established online or Android gaming apps? For instance, letting users "gamble" with TOP instead of the fictitious house casino money?

I understand that legality becomes an issue at some point, but if bitcoin technically isn't money, then neither is topcoin. And there's the issue of whatever casino game has to make a substantial purchase of TOP in order to fund the house...

Seems like this would be a good way to get the word out.
11552  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCEMENT] Hawaiicoin - Own a Slice of Paradise on: April 28, 2014, 09:24:09 AM
I live in Hawaii and I'd like to introduce the idea to more people here, though recent price action and other things I've read leaves me wary and with questions..

The best and quickest way to get people to start dispersing the currency would be through phone wallets..

I understand there's a qt wallet but to be honest manually having to add nodes is going to be a turn off to those unfamiliar with the whole concept.

Also, is the fact that it was written in SCRYPT going to be a turn off for potential investors in the future?

Thanks

Aloha from Moiliili

addnode=204.195.130.236
