11541  Economy / Economics / Re: If you hold 1 BTC you are a pioneer on: June 17, 2016, 05:29:08 PM
If you hold 10 or more you are part of an elite.

This is my conclusion after the years I have been involved here. Absolutely no one in real life knows what the hell Bitcoin is, and even your most geeky friends may probably never heard about Bitcoin. Now if you take into account the people that has heard about it... what percentage own 1 BTC? Exactly.. you know almost no one.
And what percentage own 10 BTC? I personally know no one (people from this forum don't count obviously).

This simple observation shows you only need 1 BTC to be a pioneer on Bitcoin in 2016.

Thanks for this! I have 1 BTC so I'm glad someone calls me a pioneer. And you are right about people in real life: I have a friend, he lives in a very big city and works for banks as a software engineer, we haven't spoke for several years and one week ago I was talking to him on Skype and I was very surprized but he didn't know about Bitcoin until that time we spoke.
11542  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much can you earn with gambling? on: June 17, 2016, 05:12:44 PM
Prey to the God of luck, strike a deal with the devil or marry lady luck ?

Other then that not really anything you can do about it, lucky or not. That's it.

Pretty much this. Except maybe that most of us even if we get lucky for some time we continue to gamble like we are waiting for bad luck to come. And then it comes and we lose everything anyway.
11543  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is CHINA CONTROLLING Bitcoin? on: June 17, 2016, 09:57:53 AM
No, it's not. I'm surprized 50% of the voters say it is. Why? If Adidas Clothes are mostly made in China does it mean China controls Adidas?
11544  Other / Politics & Society / Re: We Could Be Living In Simulation Says Elon Musk on: June 16, 2016, 12:01:49 PM
I'm not a gamer but I like to check the level of similarity with the real world from time to time. Well I'd say we should wait a million years or maybe more until the similarity will be achieved.
11545  Economy / Economics / Re: How too get rich on: June 16, 2016, 11:42:49 AM
You have to aim for 21 BTC and hold then losing term, it's as easy as that. Ok not that easy to get 21 BTC, but still not mission impossible, with hard work and dedication it can be done, unless the price keeps rising this fast, then it will be impossible for anyone that is not upper class.

But 21 BTC is a big money. I mean even if Bitcoin will stop rising at $700 it's $15,000, the amount which is impossible to make in 1 year in most countries. Yes, right, that's if you not from the upper class of course.

11547  Economy / Economics / Re: What would happen if Bitcoin became a legal currency? on: June 16, 2016, 11:27:54 AM
Everyone would like the bitcoin is accepted in all online and real stores and, as as mentioned in the title, what would happen if Bitcoin became a legal currency?

Is it illegal? Well maybe in some countries it is, but most of the world is using it legally I guess. So I think if it will become "more legal" than it is now nothing will change much.
11548  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it a good long term investment to buy 1 BTC today? on: June 15, 2016, 03:23:27 PM
I think buying 1 BTC isn't going to take that much out of your savings anyway, and the potential that bitcoin offers is just too good to be resisting right now. So yes, I would personally do it.

Remember to go for long term instead of short term profits though.

Exactly this. Some time from now Bitcoin might even drop a bit but in the long term you'll be at profit anyway. Don't make the mistake which many have made when they where selling their coins seeing Bitcoin is dropping. If they would wait several months they would be at profit now.
11549  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is bitcoin gambling really accepted in China ? on: June 15, 2016, 03:14:05 PM
I'm pretty sure its been made illegal. China is a communist country and the people living there are very poor so the government wants to "protect the people"

Theoretically you are right but I think in China things are going a bit defferently, I think they even have Casinos and things like that in some places. Although the government of the country is communist they are trying to be as capitalist as possible.
11550  Other / Off-topic / Re: If Bitcoin price would fall to the bottom, what would you do next? on: June 15, 2016, 02:40:49 PM
I wonder if you would jump into another cryptocurrency in case the Bitcoin price would fall to the bottom. Or what else would you do? Would you leave the game completely? Tell me Smiley

First of we should decide what is "the bottom". Is it $100, $50 or even less? IMO the bottom for Bitcoin is $490 and I think not only me but many others too would buy as much as they can if we see Bitcoin at that "bottom".
11551  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Revolution 2.0 in France? on: June 15, 2016, 10:46:58 AM
Apparently the situation is quite chaotic right now... Bossnaping, general strike, fuel shortage, immigrants wanting to go the England, refugees, massive street fighting for the European soccer cup, terrorism... What's next? Franceexist from eu?

Revolution 2 is not the correct topic for it. France is a country with pretty high number of revolution it's not just the 2nd.
France and French people have gone through many difficult times, the current situation is not a big issue for them. French people are capable of handling such minor issues themselves.

I agree, not many people are actually affected by the street fighting for the European soccer cup or the terrorism or the refugees. The situation in the whole country must be unbearable for most people for a revolution to start.
11552  Economy / Economics / Re: panic selling on: June 15, 2016, 10:35:19 AM
What if somebody will make a huge dump and sell it all the way to earn some profits because of this rally in bitcoin, and someone sees it and do that same thing. Is there any effect on bitcoin when someone to this,?

Yes it affects the price of Bitcoin when many people are selling their coins: the price is going down, but when it is low enough for many people to think they shoud start buying we can see the reverse effect.
11553  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: the easiest way to make a profit from gambling? on: June 15, 2016, 10:28:52 AM
hello, I would like to try my luck from gambling.

what kind of gambling that you think is easy to make a profit? and what strategies are you using?

Whatever you might read or hear there is no such thing as a "winning strategy" in gambling. If you want to make money with gambling you better stop before starting. Gambling can be fun but there is no profit whatsoever.
11554  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen to unconfirmed transaction on: June 15, 2016, 10:22:33 AM
I have an unconfirmed transaction sitting in limbo since 5/9/2016. Nothing has returned to my wallet / account.

The transaction ID has dropped off the radar everywhere I've checked:

Transaction ID: 1be2fdb7716ec211ab8aaf65f3433285d80f204c65f029ae4a082be83bb34082-000

I was emptying out the last of an old account and sending it to another account of mine using Bitcoin Core, an older version, and had not looked to see what the transaction fee was set to, and apparently it's too low. Transaction was for 0.10011500 BTC, with a fee of 0.0000146 BTC. The account was seldom used and had worked fine apx three months ago, so I had no reason to adjust anything.

It appears I'm just out the money with no recourse.

I only dabble here and there, and once the little usb mining nodes became outdated, I stopped mining.

Is there anything I can do to recover this money? It not the end of the world, but $68 bucks still buys a couple of tanks of gas....

I hope your coins will be returned to you but I'm not sure about that. Why did you include such a small transaction fee, 0.0000146 BTC? I always include 0.0001 BTC and all goes fine.
11555  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How greedy you are ? on: June 14, 2016, 06:43:15 PM
nice Poll! I answered "I'm not" some time ago but now I'd rather say "I don't know" because sometimes I'm really greedy and this brings me to losing my balance very fast. The good thing is that I never have more than $10 on it.
11556  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would you like to buy with Bitcoin that you can not? on: June 14, 2016, 06:37:12 PM
Is there something you'd really like to be able to buy with Bitcoin, but you just can't, yet?

I want to buy a lot things with Bitcoin but I can't buy them not because they are not selling them for Bitocins but because I have not enough Bitcoins. I mean you can buy almost ANYthing with Bitcoins nowadays if you have a lot of them.
11557  Other / Politics & Society / Re: London's mayor has banned 'unrealistic body images' from transport advertising on: June 14, 2016, 06:06:01 PM
I don't like ads in public space independently of what is advertised. I think it's visual pollution and I get enough ads from other sources but at least I can chose to be exposed. So thank you mr mayor a step in the right direction...

I agree with you and the poster above who said "why this is a concern". The less ads we see on the street the better, and yes they should be controlled more on what they are putting on those billboards.
11558  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you quit your day job to go full time on bitcoin? on: June 14, 2016, 05:48:49 PM
I would not do this anytime because its a risk you are taking and also not a small risk in my eyes.
I think the bitcoin has a very good future and that you should wait with doing this.

If bitcoin price reaches to the moon in future then we can think of quitting our job, but till then not possible as it will be really risky to depend only on bitcoin for living.

I'm afraid if Bitcoin price reaches to the moon as you say they will pay you less Bitcoins for the same job which makes the price of Bitcoin  irrelevant in making a decision about quitting your job to go full time on Bitcoin.
11559  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your favorite Bitcoin communities apart from Bitcointalk? on: June 14, 2016, 01:13:49 PM
Actually I think I don't have time to browse for other communities. This community is enough for me for I know if anything worth attention appears somewhere it will be here soon too.
11560  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cheap electricity for mining Bitcoin on: June 14, 2016, 10:00:47 AM

Not Indonesia, the peninsula is a small country call Malaysia, the industrial rate is +- usd0.10 to 0.11 /kwh, resident pay more @ +-0.14/kwh, the ambient Temp is 24-35'c all year long

sounds nice, but ...
additional powercost for aircondition
additional invest for aircondition
wet conditions! (bad for airconditions - ask china) Tongue
political safe area?

I would prefer those 3 rocking us-cent @USA
In india you can get power @0.1 - 0.2 us-cent / kwh

But ... the same like Malaysia. Quality. Stable and always are a problem.
Even USA has really more power-cut-offs then europe - but that is fine on average.

Why I have such a bad feeling about Malaysia? I dont know. Malaysia Airlines maybe?  Roll Eyes

here in south east asia, bit coin mining is very hard due to the power cost & the hot climate.

Not much people know about malaysia except the 2 malaysia airline tragedy and the famous 1MDB scandal by their top leader

The power price you mentioned is very nice, but the hot climate will be a problem.
It would need heavy cooling!

What is about hardware? (costs, avaible, delivery time etc.)
And political its allowed to mine and use bitcoin @Malaysia?

If the temperature around is too high what if to put the miners in a deep cellar? As far as I know the temperature under ground is pretty low no matter how high it is above the ground.
