11562  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: mining Monero on a Mac on: January 13, 2021, 04:29:31 PM

Does it make any sense to cpu mine monero on my iMac?
Any recommendations on pools and software? Many thanks!
It depends on the type of CPU you are running, if you are using ryzen cpu or core i9 cpu then it will make sense to mine Monero, don't bother mining on less powerful CPU because it won't worth your time and energy, XMRig is the best Monero miner I know

is a 2,3 GHz dual Intel Core i5

pennies a day.

Anybody know this idiot Stefan Thomas really exists? https://www.businessinsider.de/wirtschaft/finanzen/bitcoin-vergessenes-passwort-kann-viele-millionen-euro-kosten-a/?amp

Telling in the article how great banks and governments are and why bitcoin is not that great. Because he lost his password to 7002 bitcoins. Sounds like a another fake story from fakestream media to me.

lets say he lost his password for 7002 coins.

I would think that he could toss 1,000,000 usd at it to crack the password.

7002 x 33000 =  231 million plus
11564  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Let's talk severe depression on: January 13, 2021, 04:31:21 AM
Interesting subject.

First off USA medicine is very profit oriented. So if you live in the USA 🇺🇸 and you have real true mental illness like depression it will be hard to help yourself.

Just answer this question did you ever want to hurt yourself? Yes To any USA based doctor and you could

have a lot of ‘treatment’ forced upon you in the name of helping you.

But it you are really depressed you most likely need medical help.

The nicest dog I have ever know was a black dog.

The second best dog I have ever know was a black dog.

To think that depression is the black dog very likely  means you are suffering big time.

I don’t know where you live but find some online talk site designed for depressed people.

Good luck.
11565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: (Noob Question) Are prebuilt PCS good starter altcoin miners? on: January 13, 2021, 01:58:40 AM
pre built rigs at the correct price are fine.

My question to you is what power setting are you using for that 1080ti

you do not need high core setting.

+50       core
+1000    ram
  180     watts

should be good for you

I had a really good deal on omen 2 card 1080ti rigs back in 2018.   2k after coupons.
11566  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Braiins OS: open-source mining firmware [S9, T1]. New release includes AsicBoost on: January 13, 2021, 01:49:04 AM
A lot depends on what speeds you are doing the unit at.

Here is a 1 board build with a lessor fan.

this fan is good.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Delta-AFB1212SHE-PWM-120mm-x-38mm-4pin-PWM-FAN-Extreme-Hi-speed-3700-RPM-151CFM/143654747353?

since you use 1 fan it saves power

the single fan is low speed about 1740

set to 400 mhz and  8.1 volts

I have had the pulsing issue you mention set on auto.

So I always do manual speed as these are my ck.pool lottery tickets.

11570  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 12, 2021, 09:47:19 PM

From the article:

"Parler’s site was a mess. Its public API used no authentication. When users deleted their posts, the site failed to remove the content and instead only added a delete flag to it. Oh, and each post carried a numerical ID that was incremented from the ID of the most recently published one."

"Another amateur mistake was Parler’s failure to scrub geolocations from images and videos posted online. Sites like Twitter and Google routinely remove such metadata from content posted by their users. The video files hosted on Parler, by contrast, were “raw,” meaning they still contained this information."

What is this? A social network for ants?

Like I said, chief of security was just some lame dude. Lol.

No they were simply a site to collect names and info. No more no less.

All far right and all far left sites are simply tools to collect names and info.
11571  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: January 12, 2021, 06:20:22 PM

Hopefully the next few evga que drops are decent.  Last year associate's code gave 5% discount on gpu's vs 3% now.  That was nice as it was almost my sales tax rate of 6.5%.  You get up to 10% on other products like PSU's and motherboards.

Any discount in today's market is good and the dude doing the spreadsheet deserves a bit for his time.

Gotta to say that EVGA won a good brand perception with me due to the que and the ease of not fighting bot's even with a limit of 1 sku per household.  If I am able to land a couple more cards at the 2020 price this quarter then I will like them even more.

Well they take PayPal   So I get six months to pay.

If I got all of them it would be nice.

Newegg has some 3060 ti's at the new msrp in their eBay store right now.  Pretty pricey

https://www.ebay.com/itm/MSI-GeForce-RTX-3060-Ti-DirectX-12-RTX-3060-Ti-GAMING-X-TRIO-8GB-256-Bit-GDDR6-P/293951902007

Sold out bro.  says 482 of them gone!!

found this also pricey

asrock 6800

https://www.ebay.com/itm/ASRock-Radeon-RX-6800-Phantom-Gaming-D-Gaming-Graphics-Card-with-16GB-GDDR6-AMD/293951901486?

and this also jacked to the max

https://www.ebay.com/itm/ASRock-Radeon-RX-6900-XT-PHANTOM-GAMING-D-Graphics-Card-16GB-GDDR6-AMD-RDNA2-R/383899400698?

also this jacked up like a mofo

https://www.ebay.com/itm/XFX-Speedster-MERC319-Radeon-RX-6800-BLACK-16GB-GDDR6-HDMI-DisplayPort-PCIe-4-0/303844307931?

11576  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 2021, time for a new general & diff speculation thread... on: January 12, 2021, 02:11:47 PM

11577  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Introduces the S19 and S19 Pro on: January 12, 2021, 02:10:17 PM

new gui.
11578  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: My S9 Heater version on: January 12, 2021, 02:05:40 PM
Yeah I have one running in my spare bedroom.

This one is July 2019 Bitmain firmware set to lowest setting
using an evga bronze psu.
I used inspect option to set fans to 1900 speed

Spimply was too lazy to burn a braiins sd card and make it that way.

I did sell more then 1 unit with 2 boards and 1 fan running braiins. as braiins lets you run with 1 fan

I also sold more then 1 unit with 1 board and 1 fan running braiins.

Braiins is better for these space heaters than stock July 2019 bitmain firmware.

11579  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Adjustable Blocksize Cap: Why not? on: January 12, 2021, 04:27:28 AM
Fixing btc blocksize is not going to be easy as there are many safe coins to mine and move money.

LTC can move large sums safely and as a bonus  cheaper then Btc.

Doge can move small and medium sums faster and cheaper and safely.

Tether is being used to move wealth quickly and so far safely.

All of them do a decent job.

So btc is much more usable as a store of wealth rather then a quick fast cheaper money mover.

I think that the problem is solved.  Of course btc maximinalist wont agree or be happy with my thoughts.

On the subject.
11580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer erroneously showing 5 MH/s every few seconds on: January 12, 2021, 04:05:52 AM
I have a handful of antminers running in my setup, and they all work great, except this one that will drop from full speed to 5 MH/s(RT) every few seconds, in reported speed only. The average speed, pool shares generated, accepted shares per hr, HW, temps, net profit that actually shows up in the pool, and everything else I can check are all completely normal...this appears to be purely a display error on the miner status page. But if I plan on selling this in the future, obviously something I want to fix (also I get erroneous warnings in my awesome miner rules). The only anomaly I've found is on the Miner Configuration, Chip Freq settings page [both blissz or awesome miner custom firmware], one chip is showing 999.00, while the others all show around 1.9, which is something I have never seen on any other miner. Maybe that causes some sort of overflow error? I've tried adjusting that one chip all the way up or down and everything in between (and adjusting the overall miners global freq and voltages to every possible combination), but nothing changes it. Swapped power supplies, IO boards, reset to factory firmware to no avail as well.

are you talking about ant miner L3+

if so this should be in alt coin section not here.
