Vai no REPUTATION e conta a situação.

11582  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Paying low fees in Ethereum - Gas Limit, Gas Price and Gwei on: December 05, 2018, 09:41:24 PM
I think is possible to pay low fees when sending ERC20 tokens, but as i tested not all ERC20 tokens works in that way, some of them has too high gas price in my opinion, because they not value so much in fiat.

You define the gas price. Those ERC-20 tokens you are talking about probably have a high Gas Limit.

You should always use the recommended gas limit, there is no problem if you put too much Gas , because you will be refunded if you send too much gas.

Gas Price is the atribute you can reduce, and that is what is going to control the fees of the transaction.

Pergunta atual

O que acontece se o hashrate cair demais? Existem mecanismos no protocolo do Bitcoin para defender a rede nesse caso, a longo prazo?
11585  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best policy to HODL a coin for newbie to avoid big loss. on: December 05, 2018, 09:52:26 AM
Let's suppose you bought 1 BTC.

The idea to hold is that you will always have one btc. Holding, you will never lose this 1 BTC.
If you sell at a 10% "stop loss"you may fall in a bear trap, and when you try to buy again the price may be higher and you will buy only 0.75 with that money

Holding is really a good strategy in a bull market. In a bear market it is not a good strategy. However, cryptocurrencies have a long term upward moviment, so holding was the best strategy so far.

You are not a good holder :p

What is a 'Bear Trap'
https://www.investopedia.com/terms/b/beartrap.asp
A Bear Trap is a technical pattern that occurs when the performance of a stock or an index incorrectly signals a reversal of a rising price trend.

11587  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Send ERC20 Tokens Without Paying Gas on: December 05, 2018, 09:27:08 AM
Hi guys

I have 3 questions.
(1) How is it possible to send ERC20 Tokens without gas?
(2) If I want to send ERC20 Tokens from, lets say Account A with 0 Ethereum to Account B with Ethereum and have account B pay for the transaction gas, how do I do that?
(3) How is this guy in the examples doing it and is the gas being paid and by which account, the sender or receiver?

To me it looks like no gas is being paid, which is very strange.

I've tried googling answers to this but I'm getting the same answers "It's Not Possible you Noob""

Ok, First of all I will tell you that this is a bitcoin forum, and this post should be in Altcoin discussion session.

For your questions, first of all you need to understand that ethereum is a "world computer", where everything is proceessed by the whole network. So, if it was possible to make a zero gas transaction, that would easily result in a dos attack (denial of service).

For example, someone would create a script of infinity transactions in a loop, until the network goes down.
What prevents a DOS attack in ethereum Network is that everything costs gas. So you have to pay for everything you do in the network.

So, the whole gas system was created in such a way to prevent this from happening. As gavin wood said, in a world computer, waste of computer resources would mean waste of world resources.

Regarding your example, you can see that the user spent 37263 gas. However, the gas prices was set to zero. I believe there are two possible explainations for that:
1- the gas price is not zero (0.000000), but something so low that etherscan consider as zero, such as 0.00000001 eth .
2- the owner of the transaction is a miner, and he decided to include this transaction in a block anyway. . I am not sure if that is possible in ethereum network, but it MAY be.

I made this post explaining ethereum gas system some time ago:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3285767.msg34270190#msg34270190

You cannot control how much gas is necessary to make a transaction. If you set a low gas for a transaction, it won't be processed. What you can set is the gas PRICE, which is , in this case, low. I don't believe it is zero, but so low that etherscan cannot see it.

As you can see, he paid a lot of gas for this transaction. Who decides how much is the minimum acceptable gas price is the miner.

Can you sign a message from an old address? Quite a gap in your posts from 2016 to present and your posts from then to now seem very different.

Maybe that's the case of putting a neutral/negative trust until he proves he is the owner of the address? Because it really looks like a hacked/bought account, and his trust is from 2016/2013, prior to hack/bought.
11589  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: Looking for article/bloggers & youtubers (Local language in various regions) on: December 04, 2018, 03:50:05 PM

11590  Other / Meta / Re: Discussing the creation of Smart contract are prohibited? on: December 03, 2018, 12:57:33 AM
However, you could try to create a new topic about how to implement those smartcontracts in Bitcoin network? There are implementations of smartcontracts in Bitcoin Network, such as RSK (https://www.rsk.co).

I believe particl is doing something like that as well.

You tweaked your original topic based on some advice here that may have allowed the topic to blur the lines and remain within the board.

I am sorry that my advice was misunderstood.

I said you should try to create a new topic.

I didn't said you should change a few words in your topic... And demanding moderator to move your topic is not the right way to solve your problems here.

This a great community and there are rules here. If moderator open exceptions for people, the forum will become a mess.

What's the problem with Altcoin board ? Do not count for signature campaign? Too much spam?
You could create a self moderate topic to keep it without spam.

Why all this suddenly monero love?

I think Moneró wallets are too problematic. At least they were few years ago, last time I checked. I sold mine because i couldn't find a good working Monero wallet.

I hear they have better wallets now, but noew I am trying to keep my portfolio simple
11592  Other / Ivory Tower / Buying the whole crypto market. Crypto Market Index? on: December 01, 2018, 10:51:48 PM
I have this idea, that might be used in Jet Cash investment club.

For years, my strategy as an investor in stock market is to simple buy the whole market through index funds (ETF).

This is nothing new, and it is an old strategy for stock market investors.

John Bogle wrote this book, which is a classic for anyone who has any  interest in personal finances: The Little Book of Common Sense Investing. You can download it here.

John Bogle is CEO and founder of Vanguard, a trillionarie fund and one of the largest funds in the world.

This is the introduction of the book.

Quote from: John C. Bogle - Little Book Of Common Sense Investing

SUCCESSFUL INVESTING IS ALL about common sense.

As the Oracle has said, it is simple, but it is not easy. Simple arithmetic suggests, and history confirms, that the winning strategy is to own all of the nation’s publicly held businesses at very low cost. By doing so you are guaranteed to capture almost the entire return that they generate in the form of dividends and earnings growth.

The best way to implement this strategy is indeed simple: Buying a fund that holds this market portfolio, and holding it forever. Such a fund is called an index fund. The index fund is simply a basket (portfolio) that holds many, many eggs (stocks) designed to mimic the overall performance of any financial market or market sector.* Classic index funds, by definition, basically represent the entire stock market basket, not just a few scattered eggs. Such funds eliminate the risk of individual stocks, the risk of market sectors, and the risk of manager selection, with only stock market risk remaining (which is quite large enough, thank you). Index
funds make up for their short-term lack of excitement by their truly exciting long-term productivity.

"Index funds eliminate the risks of individual stocks, market sectors, and manager selection. Only stock market risk remains."

There is no such index fund in cryptocurrency community, as far as I know. A fund which would represent the Coinmarketcap index. This fund could be composed of the top5, or top10 cryptocurrencies, for example.

There are some similar initiatives, such as Coinbase Index Fund. This is a very interesting fund, however it does not contain the whole market (XRP is out, for example, which is a very good performer and have a large market share). Stellar, EOS and others are missing as well.

Even though, this Coinbase Index Fund had a performance superior to Bitcoin's performance in the last years.

One of the biggest advantages in holding the "whole market", is that your emotional is out of the equation. This is a more rational investment strategy. You cannot say "i will not buy Eth this month, it's going down so badly" or something like that. Our emotions usually are bad for our investment decisions. You will get all the pumps from big coins, such as xrp and xlm that were unexpected.

The biggest challenge in creating and managing this fund would be:
-As there is no index, such as SP 500 (top500 stocks), we would have to create it. Top 5, top10, top30?
- Manage it every month/year/week?? Coins change their positions and market shares every day.

Probably there are more challenges...

I know jet Cash is looking for small cap coins, and this might not fit his project. However, I believe this is an interesting subject and would create a nice discussion.

I tried to do something similar, just with BTC and Eth (I didn't buy much xrp, because I didn't like it at the time..) the result: eth down and xrp up. If I have bought According to market share, I would have a larger portfolio now...

11594  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: URGENT! A 2nd Hack into our Blockchain wallet on: December 01, 2018, 09:27:14 PM

One last idea we haven't asked about.

The hacker is the owner of Crypton-Exchange.net (as explained in the 1st thread), can we get to him by contacting the domain registrar of this domain? How feasible is that?

If you have proofs that this person is a criminal and stole your money, you can try to contact authorities . Registrar would be a good way to identify him

However, if he is the attacker (through the addon), it's probably that he also uses some sort of identity protection. It may not be easy to identify him.

Have you discussed it with the moderator?

The problem for you is this is a Bitcoin forum, and for inclusion they have alt boards. All they have done is move it to the appropriate section.

Not much to be done, I'm sure there is an Ethereum based forum out there, you could post your question. You could aslo recreate the topic as a self moderated thread, and bump it daily on that board in an attempt to keep it visible and clean.
Thanks for the reply and advice.
I have not discussed this with local moderator.

I thought maybe global moderators will comment on this. It is foolish to prohibit discussing the creation of smart contracts in the segment where experts gather.

I didn't read your topic, but if it's about ethereum, it has to be moved. You cannot have Altcoin technical discussion in a Bitcoin board. That's not foolish, that's organization.

However, you could try to create a new topic about how to implement those smartcontracts in Bitcoin network? There are implementations of smartcontracts in Bitcoin Network, such as RSK (https://www.rsk.co).

I believe particl is doing something like that as well.

I want to be updated about this investment club Jet Cash, and contribute if possible (probably as an investor or helping the project to getting started).

Maybe you could create a thread about it in bitcointalk where you post the updates?
11598  Economy / Securities / Re: I need some advice on setting up a crypto investment club on: December 01, 2018, 12:08:37 PM
IAnother factor will be ensuring that the coin is not traded on third party exchanges.

The idea would be to trade it only inside the club?
If it's going to be an erc20 , its not possible to prevent it to be traded in Dex exchanges such as mercatox. Maybe use omni layer?

Some of the other topics I've considered are - what to do with any advertising revenue. How to value new payments after the fund has appreciated, and a few other things.

Advertising revenue will probably be small, it would at first moments, only enough to  cover the costs of running and managing the club and website. Don't you think?

Evidently Calvin Ayre hired people with Achondroplasia (dwarfs) to entertain him for "Coingeekweek" and to celebrate BCHSV.

This cant get any more disgusting.  I see a "snow white" hooker was also hired.  Evidently he either is the seventh dwarf himself... "Sleazy", or he could only afford six since he is propping up the BCASH SV price with his money.

Hopefully jbreher wakes up eventually.  And I mean that with all sincerity.

Sorry, I don't know bCh sv shills... Who the hell is Calvin ayre?
