For people like me who would like to go from Member to Full Member, it's virtually impossible. And that "make better posts" line they're feeding us is bullshit (pardon my french). I'd need a lifetime of good posts to achieve that because even when people make good posts, that doesn't guarantee that a member with sMerits will see them or that they will be willing to give them their points.

Trust is a bad idea because the moderators are only human. And as humans, they have weaknesses and vices. What's more, these people are not consistently checked so it's not easy to prove when they cross a line and give positive or negative trust based on their personal bias. I've seen it time and time again, when you give a person an ounce of power over another person, this sort of thing will happen if they are left unchecked.

I could not agree more with all of you in regards to anonymous coins in general as well as added features may well boost up value of ONION, but if ye all don`t mind why such a sharp drop in value than?
I understand circulating supply is to be added more over aidrops and total marcet cap didn`t recover to previous levels when we had $18. USD as price per coin. Heck, Im still concerned over this sharp drop and coin going nowhere up as market slowly recoveres. :/
Like most of the market, DeepOnion took a hit when Bitcoin's price dropped significantly. It's not something a new coin can be prepared to deal with. DeepOnion is only 6-7 months old right now, as it continues to grow and after the airdrops stop, then it will grow its trading volume and its price will rise more. The airdrops are considered "free money" by some people (despite the fact that you have to buy coins first to get coins) so this is a factor for DeepOnion being undervalued at the moment. Fear not, as the market is stabilizing and when the airdrops are done, DeepOnion will get noticed. |

Because the airdrop aint finished yet. Most exchange wont allowed to list a coin that the airdrop or coin distribution that is still on running. Onion basically is still in ICO stage btw. Lets wait till April. Once the airdrop end. We gonna explode! This is 100% false lol can I get a real answer please. We feel FatBtc isn't good exchange. First they posted they will list winners, after they asked for payment, which is kind unfair to state we will list and only after collecting more than 10K retweets ask for payment. Also there are some concern this exchange is scam. Payment? It is widely known that when an exchange site is making a poll about listing a coin, they list the winner for free. This is a really bad thing for FatBTC to do, and it's too bad that it seems like other coins actually paid because I saw that some new coins were listed. Way for FatBTC to misinform us so we lost our time voting for this. They should have been upfront about this. *shakes head* |

Which is why I think that the best solution is to simply verify via SMS and link the account that way. This totally ignores one of the most important arguments against it: privacy! At best, I could use a prepaid number, which means I have to add balance at least twice a year. If I forget it, I lose the number, and thus access to my account. Well, then this is not for you like I don't feel like staking my Bitcoin address would be something that would be beneficial to me. Especially if I have to wait for long periods of time for my account to be reinstated. But I believe that lots of users in this forum would be relieved to have that option. You want to remain completely anonymous, okay, I get it. I'm not suggesting a mandatory security measure here. I'm suggesting an option that would benefit me as many other users who prefer to lose part of their anonymity in favor of not losing their account and frankly, I don't know why we keep circling back to the issue of anonymity here. Privacy should be people's right, and to me this means they should be able to give some of it away if they wish in exchange for something more beneficial to them. |

Yes they are, official contests are reset every week and new winners are chosen every Sunday. Also you can find a lot of unofficial contests and giveaways that other members are doing. Yes I think this is something great about DeepOnion. There is always something that you can contribute with: Wallpaper design, Video, Article. Not a writer/designer?! How about a 9gager?! You can win the contest for the best Meme and now even the best photograph! As @Zmaku mentions there are many more "unofficial" contests for a few ONIONs going on every week so just take your pick The DeepOnion forum is truly a place that will support people'a quest to earn money. And if they stick with the project, their hard earned Onions will have huge returns in the future. |

Good luck in that but im sure the deepest it could reach would be $3. The whole market would have to dip again so could buy the coins under 2 bucks. Just visualize the greater picture, it will be arround $100-500. I don't think it will drop below $4 any time in near future. This is a great time to enter if you are on the fence. There is a huge support @ 4.5 USD level and to break that doesn't seem possible unless bitcoin drops below 6K again. Yeah, in sats we are okay but if BTC goes for a tumble anything can happen. Sadly that’s what happens with such reliable on BTC in this market I agree, which is why altcoins need to find more ways for their coins to be bought with fiat directly without needing Bitcoin. I think this is one of the reasons why altcoins go down with Bitcoin most of the time. |

Edit: LoyceV, I will give some thought to your suggestion on the matter of the paper wallet. However, I believe that a forum such as bitcointalk should offer its members some sort of extra protection. A staked address is a very easy method to offer this protection, although I do agree account recovery often takes too long. Also asking the user for confirmation before doing a critical change to the account should be mandatory.
That means at least sending a mail with a confirmation code. That's minimum security, any site has such an option implemented. I've had most of my forum accounts longer than most of my phone numbers and email addresses, and this forum account has already outlived at least 2 of my phones (although not my phone number). I consider losing my phone much more likely than losing access to my account, and in that case it will only lead to more support requests. It's the opposite for me. I still keep my first e-mail address, although now I have others, and my phone, even though it's obviously not the same device, still has the same number that I had in middle school, which was ages ago Which is why I don't understand why it's an inconvenience to have your account linked to your phone number. I've lost phone devices and then I went with my ID to my cell provider and simply got a new SIM card with the same number and a new phone. It's certainly easier than asking some moderator to recover my account and wait for I don't know how long for this process. Now, 2FA, that can be a tricky one if you use Google Authenticator. I haven't lost a device recently, but I know that if you lose your phone which has the 2FA app, you're screwed. But there are other 2FA apps out there. Which is why I think that the best solution is to simply verify via SMS and link the account that way. Again, because some people don't listen, I think that this should be an option and not mandatory. When I referred to it as a solution to spamming I was talking about another thing entirely which would require a much bigger conversation and frankly, I don't care much to have it. I'm lazy |

Forum was created in a period when bitcoin was probably the only coin available. That times are over.
Most of the people nowadays use bitcoin (if they even use it, because there are other alternatives)
only as a meaning to an end: to convert altcoins into fiat. And for that you don't even need a personal wallet,
the one(s) from exchange(s) is(are) more than enough for the purpose. Asking for a signed message with
bitcoin address as the only way to be able to recover an account seems rather archaic and leave a lot of people without a real option.
2FA is the way to go. It doesn't need to be phone connected, there are plenty of other alternatives.
Any TOTP code can be obtained on any computer as long as seed is known; you don't need a phone for that.

Είναι nodes τα οποία έχουν ένα πλήρες αντίγραφο του blockchain ενός κρυπτονομίσματος αν έχω καταλάβει καλά. Αυτό βοηθάει στις συναλλαγές, νομίζω τις κάνει πιο γρήγορες και πιο ανώνυμες. Και οι κάτοχοι masternodes έχουν ειδικά προνόμια αλλά αυτά πιστεύω ότι εξαρτώνται από το κάθε νόμισμα ξεχωριστά και το τι προνόμια έχει προσφέρει ο κάθε developer, όπως και τι περιορισμούς, π.χ. το πόσα νομίσματα πρέπει να έχεις για να αποκτήσεις masternodes, για να μπεις δηλαδή σε όλη αυτή τη διαδικασία. Και μετά βέβαια χρειάζεσαι VPS για να τρέχει 24 ώρες το 24ωρο το masternode, και κάποιες άλλες προϋποθέσεις. Αν πραγματικά θέλεις να μάθεις τα πάντα για τα masternodes, όντως θα πρέπει να το γκουγκλάρεις  |
