1161  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 0.998 BTC for 180GH/s on: March 12, 2014, 01:50:31 PM
After some serious thinking I decided not to buy the S1. I'd pay 1.40BTC(this is roughly for VAT,PSU,any other fees) to get back 1.40 after 5 months.

I think that is the Dustin Trammel guy.

what version of the code is this?
Old one, you can see the thread was made in 2011. From then to now the code has changed A LOT.

Excellent trade, I was able to redeem the Origin key on nephew's account Smiley
1165  Economy / Digital goods / [WTS] Dead Space 3/Crysis 2 Maximum Edition Origin/Steam key - 0.014 BTC each on: March 12, 2014, 01:51:50 AM
The only thing is, I need the buyer to send first. Delivery is made instantly in a PM.

Only the Crysis 2 Maximum Edition key can be for Steam or Origin - you choose.
1166  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I just pre-ordered Terraminer IV June batch on: March 12, 2014, 01:13:59 AM
Just buy the antminers direct from bitmaintech. They're at 0.998 BTC/unit at the moment. Free shipping international. Just need to pay the import duties.
I got 2 last week
The question is, will it pay itself with all the VAT,PSU,fees that makes it cost even more?

Guys, please answer my questions above. Do you think it's worth it if ROI is 5 months? It's 3 months without VAT and PSU, but 5 with them.

I don't like a 5-month ROI. But I think your 30% adjustment estimate is too high. We haven't had a 30% yet this year. Rerun your estimate with 20% adjustments.

I calculated a 50 day ROI for me. Since we have no VAT and our electricity is pretty low. For me it is less than 10 cents a KW. I think I am at .095 / kwh.
Did you factor in the PSU that you will purchase? Also I strongly suggest looking at whether you will ROI your Bitcoins, not the $.
1168  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Couple of questions about wallets on: March 11, 2014, 11:15:18 PM
each public key (the wallet address?) bitcoin address has corresponding private key.  You could have an "off-line" wallet, by writing down your private key and public keys bitcoin address, and then deleting whatever you used to create them (which might be the a wallet file(?)).  You should could then me about to import both your keys at some point in the future into any some Bitcoin wallet software, and access your bitcoins again.  In the meanwhile, you can still give people your public key bitcoin address, and it can still be used to send receive Bitcoins too.

(Is that right?)

Fixed that for you.
With all the scribbles it's difficult to tell what you meant. But it's also not incorrect to say that a public key has a corresponding private key. I mean, a Bitcoin address is a just a base58 representation of the ripemd160 hash of the sha256 hash(double) of the public key + checksum whereas the private key is just base58 encoded.

With 20% according to http://www.bitreturn.com/ it's 3 months and a half roughly, this is to pay for the miner, VAT, PSU. Without VAT and PSU it would pay itself in just 2 months and a half of 24/7 mining.

Some people have been speculating that with all this unloading of miners(and within the 5 months 1th/s miners) that this 180gh/s will not make the ROI in bitcoins.
1170  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Couple of questions about wallets on: March 11, 2014, 10:33:57 PM
You can send payments to the address even if its offline, someone please confirm, but offline wallets can only have 100 transactions sent to it without being updated.

If your bitcoin are spread between a bunch of wallets on the QT, and you send a payment, it will deduct from all the balances if it will leave a 0 balance.
That little bit there isn't exactly correct. If you have just a single address in cold storage you can send to it as many times as you like, the only time you need to update anything is the wallet.dat file once you've done 100 transactions with it, since when you send it usually sends the change back to a newly generated random address.
1171  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Chain Archaeology - Answers from the early blockchain on: March 11, 2014, 10:30:31 PM
The nonce is a random value tried to find a hash that < target. So yeah, nonce at this point is random(you may increase it sequentially, but finding blocks with some nonce is still random).

edit:script mining is what people prefers nowadays !!
This is about Bitcoin, not Litecoin.

Guys, please answer my questions above. Do you think it's worth it if ROI is 5 months? It's 3 months without VAT and PSU, but 5 with them.

It all depends on how you see ROI.
If you think the price of btc will stay the same then it is 5 months.
But..... it can always go back to $1000 or it can go down to $100.
This is a gamble my friend.

Here is my opinion. If you only have one unit then you can plug it in and  let it run for  5 months and I think you will make a little profit at todays prices before the machine uses more electricity than it makes in US dollars. You may win big, you may lose, you may break even in US dollar terms.
However, if you plan on using many machines or building up to more machines then the real game will be to buy and sell your gear as new stuff comes up for sale on the market. If you have many machines you will have to continually buy and sell them to make big money.
Sadly, it's going to be one machine only.

That's what I said, sadly I am addicted now  Tongue
I keep ordering more....
Yeah, but you have the money, I can only buy 1 right now.

I aren't really looking at the USD price, I am looking at getting back the same amount of coins I spend.

I've been wondering whether or not to buy the Ant Miner S1 180GH/s miner, it costs 1 BTC(almost) which is as of now 628 dollars or so. Adding 20% of VAT to those 628 dollars as well as buying a new PSU and various fees on the customs it totals 1.4BTC. The miner will BREAK EVEN after 5 months of 30% diff jumps.

I am not sure whether to buy it or not.

Well, I guess I'd bettter get busy then, eh?

Yup, we've seen naked couples and spooked so many people while they were sleeping. Especially some Koreans, oh man it was hilarious, he called his landlord to inspect the room.

how long will it take for them to be shipped to uk??
Has anyone tried it ??
Thanks,
JT

China to UK is 2 days by UPS

So usually from the day you order it's in your hand in 4 days.
Okay thanks, do they deliver on saturdays ??

Don't think so, UPS site says "business day delivery" and all mine have arrived during the week.

It's Wednesday in China now, so if you placed and order would likely ship Friday and be delivered Monday.

Bitmain now ships to the E.U. using DHL. All my S1's with DHL have been 3 working days. They have all been delivered on weekdays. I think he changed courier because he had a problem with UPS and Customs due to shipping it at a reduced value. It helped the end customer with VAT charges but got Bitmain into a bit of trouble.
So how much does he tell the customs the price of the miner is? Cause my VAT is 20% which is high and with a PSU it will take 5 months for the miner to break even.
1180  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 0.998 BTC for 180GH/s on: March 11, 2014, 08:20:41 PM
I did some calculations and with 20% VAT, PSU purchase and some additional fees the device WILL pay itself off in 5 months at 30% difficulty jumps BUT, I don't think it's worth it since after those 5 months it will make between 0.005 and 0.008.
