1169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / How to mine for ETH? - NEWB - Plz help tysm on: August 26, 2021, 08:02:46 PM
Hey guys!

So I live in Florida, recently I've been thinking of getting into mining and I have a few questions. Is mining via solar even possible?

Can anyone please steer me in the right direction for other threads that help someone start off mining ETH to maximize profitability?

IS there some sort of step by step guide on what I should get, how to do this, and some kind of proven recipe to mine x currency in my region?

Is ETH the smartest crypto to mine right now? What other cryptos are more profitable to mine? Open to any and all suggestions! Thanks again!!! Grin

this looks great! wonder what the price will be.

You just have to make him an offer and he will accept or deny it (DM via Instagram). He is all about the ease of transaction and prefers the item to be shipped so someone that lives in Russia, he expects the buyer to make all necessary arrangements with a local contact that lives there and take the coin out of Russia from there. Obviously anyone who lives in Russia has a better chance of making a deal with this artist. I think the most he's got for one coin is 17k. Personally i'd love to see him make out with 1 full bitcoin for this beautiful piece. He is naming it "appearance" or "omen" but also the coin has yet to be completed. Check his IG for updates.

1173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lending Against Your Bitcoin on: June 18, 2021, 01:34:57 PM
OP, are you trying to get a loan in order to finance your future ATM business by any chance?  I thought I'd post here instead of responding to your PM, and I hope I'm not revealing a secret of yours by doing so--though the note you sent me didn't sound like it was confidential.

If that's the case, I wish you luck--and I'd recommend you enter the bitcoin ATM game sooner rather than later, at least if you're in the US.  I've been watching my state on Coinatmradar, and there have been a lot of ATMs popping up all over the place, with three in my own city, where there had been just one about a year ago.  They're all owned by different companies, too, with different fee structures, though the only one I really trust/like so far is CoinFlip.

If this is unrelated to that, I'm afraid I don't know of any place other than the Currency Exchange section to borrow against your bitcoin holdings.  But considering that most potential borrowers in that section don't offer any collateral at all, I'm pretty sure your request would be a welcome change and you'd easily get a loan with the appropriate collateral if you wanted to go that route.  Most people are looking for loans in bitcoin, but if I understood you correctly, you're looking for a fiat loan with bitcoin as collateral.  Either way, I doubt you'll have a problem.

Again, best of luck to you and your future endeavors, my man.  Glad you PM'ed me.

Edit:  I just read your PM again and I'm probably mistaken about your goal with the loan--but I wish you the best anyway, whatever your plans are.

Hey m8, appreciate your message. That process is currently underway and I should have my first machine deployed by the end of July! I'm actually utilizing my client's revenue share program and I opted for a 0 APR card to finance the machine. Based on my conversations from many operators most of them have said that these ATMs are paying for themselves in 6-9 months, so basically my plan here is to utilize the debt from the banks to have this bitcoin ATM pay for itself! Then i'll have my own little money printer and I'll reinvest either into more machines or more BTC.  I have cash flow to move if I need to, originally I was considering using some BTC to pay for this and my op would have accepted but I didn't find that a good way to do it simply because BTC is king, and I don't want to put up any of my coin because i'm holding long term. This post was really just to learn more about how folks are doing this, I've just seen a lot of commentary on the subject for people who would prefer to lend against their BTC over selling it to get fiat when needed, and that made me curious. Something like this would be more attractive at ATHs maybe in 2025 and beyond.
1174  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Lending Against Your Bitcoin on: June 16, 2021, 07:03:46 PM
Hey Guys,

Recently I've been thinking in terms of liquidity, not that I plan on liquidating anytime soon but as a backup Plan B i've heard of a lot of folks lending against their bitcoin holdings.

Can anyone tell me which reputable and trusted companies will provide this service for future reference in case any such measure needs to ever be taken in the future either by myself or anyone in this forum?

If anyone knows any threads on this very topic please do share, or if you have knowledge on this or experience in doing so please elaborate and give your opinion or any insight that you may have.

Many thanks,

1175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Using Tether to increase your Bitcoin Position on: June 10, 2021, 06:13:18 PM
Hey guys,

Recently I've been doing a lot of thinking about utilizing Tether, I HODL from 2018 at the end of the last bear market. I've held and held and held, and now I've even bought more. But since the first crash from 64 i'm regretting not having the foresight to have already done this correctly and doubling my position once already!

One of my good friends things we are on the cusp of a serious bear market and has a few short position calls thinking it can go as low as 17k. As much as I hate to say this I think that we may be entering bearish territory, really hope i'm wrong tho.

So now then why not transfer everything back over to Binance, transfer to Tether, hold in Tether, wait for BTC to dip and buy back in and increase the position. Wow, thats so easy to say isn't it?

Even thinking about doing this scares the absolute crap out of me. Moving all my coins over to the exchange and converting it, there's no way I'd keep it on the exchange I'd move it right back. Ledger can hold Tether apparently, which is the wallet I use. But I need to research that process a bit more. From my understanding you just send the Tether to the Ethereum wallet on Ledger since it is ERC-20?

Just thinking about possible things that could go wrong here: What if BTC jumps way up? I miss out on huge gains and have LESS Bitcoin. How tf can you even time this crap? I wish we had a crystal ball lol. I just want to have more. I need more. My family needs more. Huge risk + huge rewards right?

These are just all of my thoughts, I needed to type them out and process this. Need to find out how much higher BTC can go, and look for signs of what can affect this in the short term. I'm no day trader, i'm no expert, just a guy trying to leave a legacy for my family!

Any suggestions, advice, know how, input, anything helps! What are all your thoughts on this? I'm sure tons of people utilize Tether like this, does anyone think they have a good pulse on the market and have any ideas of when the next big drop could be?

1178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATM in a gas station on: May 12, 2021, 02:45:51 PM
The use of bitcoin ATM is becoming more and more popular in the cities and the latest is a bitcoin ATM installed in a gas station in the Montana and delis, having a bitcoin ATM in a gas station is another milestone for the entire usage of bitcoin what I can tell is if one can pay for gas using bitcoin in the station but the fact is bitcoin is gaining widespread adoption. What are your takes on this new development.

Bitcoin ATMs aren't a new development, the first one was launched on the strip in Vegas in 2014 (there are many others who claim to have the first one around that time frame in other places). Since then, they've grown rapidly. If you want to learn more about Bitcoin ATMs then check coinatmradar.com - it'll tell you everything you need to know.
1179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / HBAR AKA Hedera Hashgraph- A token that claims to go beyond the blockchain on: May 11, 2021, 08:34:05 PM
Hey Guys,

So I was speaking with a co-worker on our way back from our work golf league, I don't really know the guy at all but he needed a ride home and lives in my city. On our ride home he was telling me about some of what he's invested in, some crypto I've never heard of with the ticker "HBAR" which uses Hashgraphs which if you don't know what those are I did a quick wiki search here: "Hashgraph is a distributed ledger technology developed by Leemon Baird, the co-founder and CTO of Swirlds, in 2016.[1][2] It is an asynchronous Byzantine Fault Tolerance (aBFT) consensus algorithm.[3] It does not use miners to validate transactions, and uses directed acyclic graphs for time-sequencing transactions without bundling them into blocks.[4]"

Its backed by Google Cloud, and its board consists of leaders from some of the largest companies in the world including: IBM, Deutsche Telekom, Boeing, LG, and so many others.

Running a quick google search on Hbar you'll come to the question promptings and this pops up:

"People also ask
Is HBAR a good investment?
Hedera Hashgraph (HBAR) is considered a terrific long-term investment opportunity and probably one of the few cryptocurrencies that could generate profit in the face of a bear market or adverse economic conditions. Hedera is a good investment because its technology is superior to all other cryptocurrency."

Looking on their website: hedera.com they state: "Hedera is the only public ledger that uses hashgraph consensus, a faster, more secure alternative to blockchain consensus mechanisms. Hashgraph works efficiently to verify transactions while ensuring the highest standard of security to prevent malicious attacks. Hashgraph achieves high-throughput with 10,000+ cryptocurrency transactions per second today and low-latency finality in seconds from its innovative gossip about gossip protocol and virtual voting. Once consensus is reached, it is available on the public ledger for everyone to transparently see."

Has anybody looked into this currency/ heard of it before? It actually seems like a pretty legit token & one that could possibly rise astronomically in the future, maybe?

Its very cheap right now clocking in at 0.27 cents per coin. A few months ago it was less than 1 cent.I am currently contemplating throwing a grand in for shits and giggles, and maybe i'll be laughing all the way to the bank in a few years. who knows!!!

Can't wait to hear your thoughts and feedback on this.

1180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My First Encounter with Bitcoin in Central Park-October 2010 on: May 11, 2021, 08:07:06 PM
No point regretting things, the important thing was that you are already here and you got big profit brcause you have been stacking sats for a long time now and I think that it is a feat that is hard to match because most hodlers can only do around 6 months or so before selling. Your story is pretty cool, I don't have any to share since I am a homebody that rarely goes out.

I appreciate that man, thanks for the comments. I am definitely HODLing!!!
