Their mining only hurts them as even just burning in is incredible hash and profit. It basic greed and short game their playing. How many billion did they have to trim from budget?

Possible, or their consumer demand across all their product line has risen through Q3. Probably slowed all their production slightly across he board. Haven't really reviewed support section in a few weeks though but most on this thread have found a way around the low hash. Seems software related than hardware. Innosilicon is only reacting to customers being adamant about reviving their asics at posted batch ship dates compared to other manufacturers currently.

That's all I read into this promotion. Driving a guaranteed ship date.

When did they post their 8 series branch LY? Might help speculate a release.
1164  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Launches Antminer S9 Hydro on: September 11, 2018, 09:08:02 PM
Since temp changed here in the NW 80% fan speed has been very welcome on my ears on the s9's. I want to try one of these too. Hoping to order in a month or so and place in office. Though Bitmain radiator looks to have a number of 120mm fam makes me wonder some on dbs.
1165  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: post count dropping on: September 11, 2018, 09:01:55 PM
i was getting worried, your average post count was dropping. Glad to see you're fine.
Well, much of my current focus is with Komodo, dPoW assetchains, and CryptoConditions.
Given that none of it is SHA (making it well off-topic and ck has a propensity for viewing everything that isn't BTC as a "shitcoin" anyway  Tongue), I tend to keep quiet on that front and there really isn't much for me to say unless someone is wildly off-base with some on-topic post.   Cheesy

CG's comments are typically some of my favorites. Not being as saturating as my own probably work in his favor. -ck seems pretty flexible with us pool miners talking about a few off topics but still would be considerate so they don't have to use the "mod hammer".
1166  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: My Plan on: September 11, 2018, 07:18:44 PM
Just an update and FYI.

Canaan's warranty is 180 days worry free and 2 year limited. At least with current product is what we're told by them.

Look at April and if we go longer than that you can "worry". Where's my mad magazine meme?

Is that the late October batch?
1169  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Attic Exhausting on: September 11, 2018, 02:56:33 AM
I'll have them come out again to check. All soffits have been opened and 1300 CFM in the gable.
1170  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: My Plan on: September 11, 2018, 02:42:46 AM
After hearing what some users suggested here I am considering the Avalons, having the Blockforge distribution is definitely better than dealing with large customs fees and long ship times.

Just ask for a quote, can't do you harm to find out what our brokers can offer. Any reseller has worked import fees into their pricing already.

Regardless shop around with the bear market maybe retail sites are liquidating since new hardware in on the horizon.
1171  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Attic Exhausting on: September 10, 2018, 02:48:24 PM
I use 8 12v 6000rpm 120MM fans in 2 windows on each end of the room can be done in the attic mounted to ducting and plywood ~2000cfm for 8 and less than 600 watts for all 16

The air they create moves the shrubbery allot 10ft away outside lol

Sounds effective but reducing noise is the reason I'm looking to vent to the attic. Wink

If you live where it snows, I'd be concerned with ice damming, mold, and shortening the life of your roof. It's generally a bad idea to exhaust air directly into an attic, especially warm air in the winter. If the plan is to run it all through ducting to an exhaust fan, then you should be OK.

I live in the NW of the states so I actually have mold issues due to moisture. My inspector said more heat and ventilation will reduce it. In a sense dry it out and air flow. The ice damming maybe an issue. Once winter is here it will be more about retaining heat, as well at night I'll just be letting the heat move into the house or look to figure a way to let it circulate through the HVAC.
1172  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Custom rig for Antminer s9 Water Cooled - 39.2 TH/s with 6 boards on: September 10, 2018, 06:09:11 AM
Really cool. sounds just as loud as any other asic. Any idea in db's?
1173  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: My Plan on: September 10, 2018, 05:10:33 AM
Are you in the US? What were you thinking on spending on asics specifically or what unit count where you thinking? I would go with canaan, we can broker a deal pretty easily save some more money. If you're set on T9+ can do that or step up to the T2 or even the s9i/j. Lot's of options lots routes to take and now is time to buy gear.

Edit: now is time to buy gear if you really set on mining.
1174  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [80PH] ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool US/DE/CN on: September 10, 2018, 04:56:03 AM
What the heck? Where did all the hash rate go? I didn't get the memo.

80 PH is still great, just got to get some more miners in here. We've just been spoiled having halong or inno or whoever throwing hash our way.
1175  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: PSU Arching on: September 09, 2018, 07:48:47 PM
Canaan came through before evga and they even had a three weeks or so lead time. This was slated to arrive Monday but I set the delivery back to Friday. Evga psu will be here Monday and I'll use that while wait for the APW5's to arrive. Though Philips recommendations were weighed heavily, I did take a chance to do some service promotion with the hardware group buy. Still waiting to hear back on the second RMA through EVGA but they have been really good as well. I can't say I'm disappointing at all by either manufacturer.

update coming when I plug all this back together.

1176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Innosilicon releases A9 Zmaster 50ksol/s Equihash miner at 620W on: September 09, 2018, 05:00:59 PM
If market bolsters I'll be turning on s7's for sha256 as revenues support it. Same goes for these so their are hardly trash worthy ever and with decent coins will have use in the future. Most likely these asic friendly coins will have some value with dedicated hardware like this. Someone somewhere will leave these running if there is some return, or they truly support the coin.

Buying now is gamble, only do it if you have capital to risk as profits will be shrinking. Buying now could also be speculation for a market surge and you'll have equipment running an able to capitalize on those returns early. Also a gamble.

Other options would be to buy to solo mine and gamble that way. Or if you already bought, solo mine if you can soak the power cost

There are reasons to buy and not buy. Mostly it's a risky endeavor at prices right now with market low and unit cost still really high.
1177  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint T1 16TH/S halongmining.com on: September 09, 2018, 03:46:37 AM
Well pretty concise, not sure I heard your perspective so clearly laid out in prior posts. Not to take away from their gravity at all.

Innosilicon has a bit to overcome regardless of copyright/patent laws to show they can play nice with other developers. Be a great change of pace to see a manufacturer do better than predecessors in the asic market.

Noticed the graph update. Is it looking how you want it or closer at least -ck?
1179  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Pangolin Whatsminer M10 - 33TH at 2145W on: September 08, 2018, 03:20:00 PM
Looks good, no pool side hash from what I saw unless I missed something. We'll continue with special requests and look to list for their October batch once we see pool rate. Looks great, so far.

it's still profitable to buy A9 ZMaster or Z9?
i have almost free electricity (0.02-0.03$ per kwh)
is it possible to achieve Payback under 4 month?

any advice?

I think you posted this in the other thread as well but you're probably looking at under a year ROI if market stays static with diff rise. Pending any bear or bull runs.
