nice find - its only a matter of time before this coins popularity and real value hits mainstream

I really don't get Auroracoin. It just makes no sense that one guy is going to validate the identities of 300,000 people (or even 100 people). It's either totally open to fraud or totally unfeasible. And it might just be a scam from the start. I don't know why people are buying into it, seems insane.

can you read??? - last I read this was DarkCoin......
1163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUR][MANDATORY UPDATE] Auroracoin - a cryptocurrency for Iceland on: March 04, 2014, 05:35:53 AM
I am very interested to see what happens once the first wave of people "cash" in on the airdrop, sell their coins and completely wipe out buy walls and this coin falls to worthless in 1 second....which might even happen before the airdrop occurs.

look on the exchanges, where is the buy support for this coin???, there's like max of 10-15btc worth on each exchange....unless a whale supports the buys but that would be suicide...

imo this will have negative light on crypto's as news reports will be saying "cryptos are volatile once again.. stay away...600 million to worthless in a day".....great...and all we have left is bag holders again.
1164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin (DarkSend) | No Premine | Runs 30% cooler than scrypt on: March 04, 2014, 02:59:23 AM
Serious question here. Why is AuroraCoin $70.00 USD per coin? It offers nothing new and 50% of it is pre-mined. Is it just me who is confused here?
Auroracoin overcomes the biggest "flaw" in bitcoin: widespread adoption, with only 0.015% of global population owning bitcoin.  Auroracoin's Airdrop will fix that problem (provided it is executed well).

Darkcoin overcomes the second biggest flaw in bitcoin: anonymity. Darkcoin is fixing that, which is why I'm also buying DRK.

I think there is a fundamental oversight in the Auroracoin plan. Why wouldn't the Icelanders trade their free, nascent AUR for the more widely accepted BTC immediately after the Airdrop?

Will they be loyal to a crypto they didn't build or demand? I think they'll begin to dump for BTC, beginning panic selling across the board.

Ultimately that would mean it's a good thing for Icelanders (free BTC) and the Bitcoin adoption rates you mention. It would only be a bad thing for the bagholders who get in now and can't exit the market fast enough.

Well, but the other side of that argument is that those who sell the auroracoin are spreading it to even more users?

And you forget that for every seller there must be a buyer - who is going to want to buy a coin that you cannot do anything with. Iceland is sure as hell not going to accept it as a form of payment.. Not to mention the MAJORITY of Icelanders have no idea what a crypto wallet is, what aurora coin is, how to exchange the coin into BTC... Whats going to happen is the dev and other people who invested will be left holding the bag of coins that no-one collected and panic sell will commence...if that doesn't happen before the so called "Air-Drop"

and on that note can we PLEASE get back on track to DarkCoin related topics.....

don't waste your time - its being pumped to hell by whales - there aren't that many coins released to market. 99% are premined. Market Cap and price is fake.

Once the dump happens for this - it will be of epic proportions and there will be a lot of people on the forums saying "HODL bullshit....the price will rise again tomorrow etc.."

anyways lets get back on track with more important things like DarkSend / DDos protection etc.

We just made it into the Top 20 of Coinmarketcap - 18 now - just overtook WorldCoin Cheesy

http://coinmarketcap.com/

Great work guys - just wanted to say thanks to the dev's and community for the most professional approach to a coin I have seen in a long time...Constructive criticism should be seen as a good thing as once it hits mainstream will allow this coin to flourish.

I definitely do NOT want pump/dump, to the moon bullshit to infiltrate this thread.
1168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it me or is Darkcoin the only coin with real potentional? 100% anonymous wow. on: March 02, 2014, 10:48:34 AM
CryptoHunter your wall's of text clearly show how naive you really are...I guess that's why you love BeeCoin lol

Supply and demand - if you can buy "things" with DarkCoin which stops the government from tracking and or identifying to particular individuals...there's going to be a lot of people who can "make use" of this technology. If people use it, and want it - it gains value...

How do you think Bitcoin got its first injection of real value -- Silk Road -- it wasn't just a bunch of nerds looking at how many Bitcoins they have in their wallet.
1169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin (DarkSend) | No Premine | Runs 30% cooler than scrypt on: March 01, 2014, 11:34:09 PM
Do you guys think DRK could reach AUR's market cap soon? By my calcs it would put DRK at $50 each with current supply. IMO DRK has much more potential as a medium of exchange than AUR.

Once DarkRoad and other services are implemented - the price of this is a lot higher than your estimate Wink
1170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | DarkSend (exciting new feature) | KGW | No Premine on: February 26, 2014, 11:38:23 PM
Someone needs to make a Darkroad. That would generate so much publicity.

not to mention how fast it will make the coins value up - this is how bitcoin got the majority of its value injection when it was young....

Can you imagine how much money the underworld would throw at the coin for anonymous transactions on Dark Road....$100 a coin is pocket change based on what can happen --> 0.5btc+ in the future is my opinion.
1171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | DarkSend (exciting new feature) | KGW | No Premine on: February 26, 2014, 02:57:28 AM
Yep Poloniex is down - I swear Dark is going to overtake LTC/BTC - The exchanges cant even take the power of Dark haha

another big dump just happened on poloniex
1173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Scrypt currencies survive the invasion of ASIC? on: February 25, 2014, 10:22:40 PM
I agree with the OP - I think that once ASIC's hit most of the GPU miners will move to the newer scrypt algos with n-factor which will render the ASICs useless. GPU miners have such a big community and that's where the value gets injected into a coin.

The important point is the reason why a coin has value is that there are a lot of people mining / investing and trading and a large percentage of these people are the GPU miners. If all of them move to the ASIC resistant coins, the normal scrypt coins will only be propped up in value by the very small number of ASIC miners....Tell me how the small number of ASIC miners will have enough money to keep a coin alive...they can mine 10 billion scrypt coins in a day but if the majority of the community is investing and trading in ASIC resistant coins, then what use is the ASIC???

Look at DarkCoin, VertCoin, MicroCoin and even Ethereum are heading toward ASIC resistance because the goal is to distribute and decentralize....not keep the wealth in the big fat cats who are such a minority.

1174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Importance of a GOOD NAME for coins on: February 25, 2014, 12:01:01 PM
definitely agree with naming is just as important as the coins features.....no one is going to adopt something with a clunky name as "Vert" as a currency for mainstream in the future...

Hence why MicroCoin is one on my radar as is has all the right features and for example when you purchase something i.e. "That will be 100 micro's"...or "That will be 100 verts"......one fits, the other doesn't...
1175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] microCoin MRC - alcurEX - Scrypt-Jane - nFactor - Mandatory wallet update! on: February 25, 2014, 02:59:04 AM
35 btc sell wall at 8 satoshi on mint now - this whale is buying up at 6 satoshi......don't know if this is good but I don't like whales having such a big stash :/
1176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | Launched | scrypt | PoS | No premine on: February 24, 2014, 11:44:37 PM
Warning - do not use bc.crypto-coinz.com - I created an account, mined then my account is somehow invalid - no emails sent nothing...

1177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] microCoin MRC - alcurEX - Scrypt-Jane - nFactor - Mandatory wallet update! on: February 24, 2014, 10:24:46 PM
Is mintpal.com down ?

Use Internet Explorer and its fine for me - I think they are having a few issues.

update Micro is now 8 satoshi on Mint....
1178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] microCoin MRC - alcurEX - Scrypt-Jane - nFactor - Mandatory wallet update! on: February 24, 2014, 12:20:59 PM
yesterday I did 606kh with 280x asus, now I do 303 and you need the same KH to get the coins, ergo, you get 50% less with the same gear.
selling below 6satoshi means you fucked urself over Cheesy

cant believe how impatient some people are....can't you wait another 5 to 10 days at the chance it explodes to 60+ satoshi and you can make 10x profit...look at mint now..some people are so short sighted....

then you see the "f**k I shouldn't have sold back then" comments all through the forum when it explodes...
1179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] microCoin MRC - alcurEX - Scrypt-Jane - nFactor - Mandatory wallet update! on: February 24, 2014, 07:20:39 AM
I wonder what the strategy is to set the 20btc sell wall at 6 satoshi on mintpal - is it to keep prices low for as long as possible before the impending explosion?

Also I heard that POS will be implemented on this coin at around block 310,000? - anyone have any speculation this will have on its value/price
1180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | Anonymous (alpha) | KGW | No Premine | ASIC Resistant on: February 24, 2014, 05:12:15 AM
When is Anonymous being implemented into mainstream? - this coupled with Cryptsy - This coin could pass LiteCoin Wink
