1161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: would you play more on casino when your country plans to ban BTC? on: June 21, 2023, 06:11:39 AM
It is in your poll there are no other options, except for the two voiced. In reality, there are always options, the best of which everyone tries to choose for themselves.

Since I no longer play gambling games, the option of sending coins in an online casino immediately disappears.

The ban on crypto trading doesn't bother me too much either. Let them ban - I'm not interested.

If cryptocurrencies are banned, in principle, in general, then another conversation arises here. It will always be possible to find a government and a country more loyal to cryptocurrencies. Also, those who are loyal to online gambling and don't plan to ban this area.
We need to think as far ahead as we can, and in my opinion a ban on cryptocurrencies may happen on some countries around the world, so we need to be ready in the case this happened in the country we are living, in my case if this happened where I live I will be able to deal with it as I have never being very vocal about my bitcoin holdings, so I could just keep holding my coins and nothing will happen to me, and if the price of bitcoin went incredibly high it may allow me to move to a different country and sell my coins legally there.

If I have a good retentive memory, I think 2 years ago when China place ban on Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, there were some people that were still trading on Binance and in other rexchanges. I might not like centralized exchanges but I commend there effort for allowing people still trade bitcoin to their local currency. The last time I was surfing through Binance exchange, I was surprised that they have some Chinese merchant that were still trading on p2p exchange. I think even if a country place a ban on bitcoin, there will always be an alternative to sell their coins for fiat. The only fear is that Casino and exchanges can restrict access to your funds and to fight back will be difficult because you it's actual illegal to use them.
1162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Friendly Match is Hard to Predict on: June 21, 2023, 05:50:27 AM
Well, they understood that this was a friendly match so they did their best to restrain their skills and make the game as enjoyable as possible. Even though they had a chance to win, they didn't want their opponent to be embarrassed and create an unfriendly aura. Therefore, from the beginning I did not want to bet on friendly matches because it was not worth it to participate.
It's in the name "friendly" this might be the reason why players are not aggressively playing with all of their skills but it's also more exciting to watch if the players play the normal way. In the end, win or lose, it wouldn't really matter because this was only a friendly match anyway.

Friendly matches are more of entertainment than wanting to win at all cost, the two trams are invited to show the fans fun of football, their main players they have been wanting to see as many of them don't get the chance to get their ticket to watch their match in their favorite stadium, it's an opportunity for the fans to see them, that's why we hardly see them been aggressive in the field to prove that they are good, a yellow card are even rare in the friendly matches.

Quote
Before we place a bet on a friendly match, we must be sure to check their previous video, only to have an idea if how it works and which team mostly wins so that we won't be disappointed of the result that we will get on our early tries. Maybe some like to participate on it more than the normal matches because it seems special and events like this can rarely happen.

If friendly matches doesn't have a team I'm sure could be dominant in a match, I will never place bets on such teams, besides when players are on break after big leagues, there used to be numerous national leagues that do started, if there are better alternatives than the friendly matches, I don't think it's worth it trying to bet on friendly matches.
1163  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: June 20, 2023, 10:25:53 PM
@JoyMarsha Barcelona are definitely going to do well in the La Liga but in the champions league I doubt that they’ll fare well because they lack the depth and quality of player’s to win the champions league. Furthermore to compete in the champions league they need to spend lots of money on new player’s but as we know with their financial difficulties it won’t happen hence I feel that they’ll crash out of the champions league at a pretty early stage.

I hope you have watch the Champions League final between Chelsea and Manchester City, the city dominated the whole match, but a mistake cost them to lose that cup because they didn't expect goal from Chelsea and that's how they lost the League cup to Chelsea. So what am I saying, Chelsea don't have much changes in their current squad and yet they win that important matches and Barcelona could win the Champions League if they are lucky as they have good players that are very talented and good with skills and new young players as well, expect good things to happen to Barcelon next season.
1164  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: June 20, 2023, 10:07:12 PM
Of course, because after all they really need the best, high-quality players for ammunition in the Premier League next season, especially Chelsea who will be doing a lot of massive maneuvers. Very right with Chelsea's decision to have succeeded in bringing Nkunku on a 6-year contract, he will be included in Pochettino's long-term plans along with other quality players they have also managed to bring in. I see that Nkunku is very happy and excited to be joining Chelsea, he is a high-quality player from Leipzig, and with his various achievements while in Germany he has been named the best player in the Bundesliga and has won the DFB cup in the 2022 season.

Nkuku is a great center forward that every club would dream of but Chelsea bid for him and got him, that's a good profflit for Leipzig by the way, bought $13m and sold for $60m is great investment in my opinion and he has also contributed a lot to Leipzig by making them among the top three teams in Germany Bundesliga league this season  and they will be going to the Champions league next season, I think Chelsea is about to make greatness next season.

Quote
It won't be difficult for him to adapt to the Premier League. the arrival of Pochettino as a substitute for Lampard, in my opinion, is the best decision from Todd compared to previous coaches because clearly, we can see in terms of the reshuffle he has made for Chelsea really serious, and apart from that Pochettino is a coach who is quite mature in terms of his experience coaching the club - Premier League clubs.

The problem with Chelsea players this season isn't generic to the coach alone, the players lack the versatility and reliability from each other, they don't have this symbiotic relationship and adaptiveness to outperform other team, I hope they improve this season to bring the glory of Chelsea we all like back in those days, we need to see what Old Trafford across all corners of England.
1165  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: June 18, 2023, 10:51:57 PM
Real Madrid don't dare to spend that much on a player, especially when it's close to $200M. Mbappe is definitely a player who deserves to be valued so highly by PSG for his quality and abilities as a striker, but whenever Real Madrid are rumored with him, Real Madrid tend to expect him for free. I'm just wondering if Real Madrid have offered more than $100M for Mbappe in recent seasons?

The league we think are the best will end up becoming like the Saudis and very soon, Spanish clubs will be seen as gabbage because when every club start inflating their players, nobody will buy them but I trust Spain, there are regulators who checkmate players so that clubs don't over spend on players for fear of money laundering and corruption, because if Real Madrid need a start player worth $200 million, then they don't need him, they should settle better settle for Haaland.

Quote
If Mbappe is deemed suitable for Real Madrid as a replacement for Benzema next season, then Real Madrid need not be afraid to spend a lot of money to make this happen. Instead of paying Dortmund too much for a move for Bellingham, I think it would be much better to sign Mbappe for €180 million as a striker.

Mbape is a back staber and I'm very confident that Madrid President hasn't forgotten how France uses money to control his mind instead of making moves to Real Madrid. Since Real Madrid made their first attempt to signed him, they have performed better than PSG in the Champions League they don't smell of Quarterfinal but Real Madrid made it to Semi finals without any new players.

1167  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: As a Gambler and a Die-Hard Fan of a Club Would you Bet Against your Club on: June 18, 2023, 10:27:24 PM
As a gambler and a die-hard fan of a club that has been having a terrible season, would you bet against your club, knowing that their loss would be your financial gain? Or would you stay loyal and not bet against them?
I place a bet according to which team has a better chance to win the match. Even though I'm a Chelsea fan, I will never bet on Chelsea if they are against Man City or Man United. The chance to win against these teams is almost zero (0).  Grin  So, when it is about betting, I don't care about my favorite team. We should understand that betting requires some money, so the result is necessary. In this matter, we must feel more realistic, we can't force betting based on our loyalty only.

You mean this season right!  Grin If you continue with this pattern, Chelsea will ruin your bets by next season because they are bouncing back with Pochettino best strategy that haven't been seen in EPL. Joke aside, betting doesn't have anything to do with emotion, it's all about how to win and win, your favorite doesn't comes when it comes to gambling, as long as they are capable of winning or making your predictions goes as plan, then that's a welcome idea. I have bet on my teams multiple times without number to win and yet they lost, I don't think there's anything wrong if I bet on them to lose the next time I try similar bet again, everyone bet to make money and not to become poor.
1168  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you guilty of promising not to gamble for specific days but back next day on: June 18, 2023, 10:06:44 PM
I did it many times back when my addiction is very high, I promise not to gamble after I lose a big amount I even swear that I will not, but the following day I'm back even promising to be better and not lose a big amount again.

How many of us are guilty of this?

I think this happen when you don't have schedules or sometimes less occupy with work. These days, I'm too occupied with office with normal work during the morning and mid day hours and tbe forum take the remaining half of the days, if I scheduled my time to do something, I make sure any other things don't come in between and looking at gambling and how consuming time they are, I make sure I gamble when it's time for betting, I don't bet if I don't have the plan in the first place but in a situation when I there is nothing to do at work or in the forum, I don't mind looking at the fixtures and wager some free money, but only at my free times.

The only way to combat this behavior and irregularities in gambling is to become busy with extra activities apart from tbe forum and betting, when you become less available to yourself, you will only stick to schedule time for gambling and wouldn't wager money when you don't plan to gamble.
1169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Friendly Match is Hard to Predict on: June 17, 2023, 07:46:50 PM
This depends actually, there is no way you will choose Argentina in a friendly match where Messi is playing forward and Enzo Fernandez plays midfielder and you don't expect them to win, they will definitely win that match but when you settle for fewer teams that might put the mind in skepticism, then you should expect some foul play. Friendly match are sort type of matches that people don't rate at all, it is better to put your money on serious leagues that are difficult to manipulate than all this match a player can secretly bet on his team to lose or win, it happens even within the teams and management.

1170  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to Improve Your Sports Betting Skills and Win More Bets? on: June 17, 2023, 06:45:29 PM
3. You need to be a legend in a specific sport or league: Your focus should be on a few sports or leagues. As it will allow you to develop a deeper understanding of the teams, players, and trends within those specific areas. In the end, this can give you an edge when making predictions.

I know right! Being an expert in many games will constitute lots of losses but trust me, some bets are worth mixing, like mixing basketball events and football events is a good chap for money because sometimes events are limited and to boost odds, you have to mixed them and they are even very easy to win than sticking to a single type of sports, I have won some good number of odds from this method and I will tell you that it worth it.

Quote
4. Comparing odds from different betting platforms: This is one of the rarest situations. There are instances when betting platforms may offer varying odds for the same event. The best practice is to always compare odds across multiple platforms, which gives you the opportunity to find the best value and maximize your potential returns.

I don't like this tip, it is my personal opinion and I think my opinion will say the same with many people here. I don't like to comapre odds when it comes to bets, lower line are tricky aspect of basketball, when your favourite betting platform gives you odd with less risk, stick with because their algorith works the way previous events ended, trying to outsmart that will make you lose more esopecially in lower lines of basketballs.
1171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: June 17, 2023, 05:16:02 PM
I saw on the news that Manchester United doesn't have enough money to hire good goalkeepers and that's why David De Gea is the best option for Manchester United.
David Raya is also another player Ten Hag wants to hire him from Brentford. but I don't think they have enough money for it.

I think these are mere speculations because the current market value of De Gea is worth $15k while David Raya is worth $25k, De Gea will walk as a free agent without any cost of finance to Manchester United from any potential club that is buying him while David Raya still has a contract with Brentford, which means they will have to settle Brentford before they can have him and indirectly, they will spend more than that amount. If you now do the mathematics, there is no way that selling out De Gea will cover David Raya's cost of moving to Manchester United, I would accept the faith that Manchester United is done with De Gea and his agent should make a move for him to another good club asap.
1172  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: June 16, 2023, 06:55:28 AM
There are too many players there so Chelsea need to make reductions and Pochettino as the new manager there where not as someone involved in buying these players will choose which one he thinks will be suitable as a starting XI and also a reserve so that his team is competitive. Mason Mount has long been rumored to want to leave Chelsea due to dissatisfaction with the wages being earned, with other players still around Chelsea should be able to cover well the place Mason is likely to leave.
Chelsea did spend too much money last season to bring in all the talented young players and they shouldn't have to be hasty in making these purchases if in the end Chelsea change coaches for one season. Now Pochettino's arrival will indeed give a new color to Chelsea and of course, as you said, every coach will only need players who are felt to meet the standard strategy that he will provide.

Chelsea's mistakes are indeed very difficult to accept and therefore now the players will start to be sold in the summer. Regarding Mason Mount, it seems that he is not comfortable at Chelsea and the salary does not seem to make him want to stay at Chelsea. There will be many replacements for Mount later and Chelsea don't seem too bothered by that.

When a soldier leaves a barrack, another one will be replaced with the ones that left, you can see that other clubs are already making moves for Chelsea players, Hervertz is one of the most sort players Arsenal are looking to bid one, they should come to terms by next week if things go well between Arsenal and Chelsea. If Chelsea is able to discard some of these players, it will do them a lot of favors to have big space to bring in new players that will help the club achieve its aim by next season but I think Pochetino has a big task ahead to forge the players into good tools, last season wasn't only the coach but the players also contributed to the club failures.
1173  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does anyone still stores their crypto in any exchange on: June 16, 2023, 06:34:08 AM
Does anyone here still stores their crypto in exchanges? I think the best choice would be to move a higher value of funds to a hardware wallet while leaving a small amount that's less than 5K in an exchange.

Exchanges have proven time and time again that they can disappoint their users at any time. Let's not talk about the FTX issue. but for instance, Atomic Wallet just let its users' funds vanish into thin air a few days ago with no reasonable explanation.

So, why would anyone in their right mind take the risk of storing your crypto on exchange? When it usually means that the exchange retains control (or 'custody') of your assets without giving you access to the private keys. Also, they can disappoint you at any time.

You see, on a lowkey there are quite a number of people in this forum that go around saying don't do this, don't do that blah blah but they don't practice what they teach, don't be surprised that many of them still used centralized exchange as storage to keep their assets which is a very bad practice on the long run, I feel people don't learn from others until it they learn it the hard way and why should a sensible person wait to learn it the hard way.

Centralized exchanges are a bad practice no matter how they put it, the least you can do is trade whatever you have to swap your coins but as soon as your business is done over there, move your coins as fast as possible to a personal wallet where you only can access without anyone, but what I believe even with the repetition of these messages, those who will take the advice will take it, and those that wouldn't will ignore.
1174  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Reminder] hey bitcoiners, Did you forget to read the updates on terms&policies? on: June 16, 2023, 06:14:10 AM

You're not alone on this and I think the general problem with why many do ignore them is because they are cumbersome notes that may not be self-explanatory to some people, some terms and conditions contain notes that are drafted and written by lawyers, and this is why many people including me ignored that image as soon as I sight them on any websites, even cookies need to be checked sometimes before you accepted but in general, we are all familiar with the norms of websites, if you are using a regular website that is for sales, you should be familiar with the regular norms and some policy or heard some experience from friends, its still good to check them though.
1175  Economy / Economics / Re: I thought there was an egg shortage. on: June 16, 2023, 06:02:01 AM
I thought there was a global panic over egg supplies. Not so long ago they were rationing sales. This morning I bought some boxes of 6 big and fresh eggs for just 21 pence. The normal price is £1.40. It just shows how food prices and distribution is being manipulated to rip us off. That is if we aren't aware and exploiting the situation for our own benefit. The eggs were on sale at a m ajor Asda supermarket in Hampshire, England.

It would have been easier for others to know the total number of eggs so they can relate the price to their own price because here in my country, eggs are not sold in boxes but on create and each creates of eggs contain a total of about 30 eggs are they are been sold for $3.2, that's from my conversion from local currency to USD and looking at that price in global level, it looks cheap and affordable at a consumer price, the retailers and wholesales price is way cheaper than this price; if you go to layers farms to get the eggs yourself, they are even more cheaper than this price.
1176  Economy / Economics / Re: Binance crisis - how will it affect the crypto market? on: June 16, 2023, 05:52:28 AM
Binance is the largest exchange right now and the issues faced with SEC can't stop their coins BNB keep stable on the higher price, dropped more than 30% from $320 and BNB current price on $240 seems how bigger impact from SEC Commission announcement last several days. Its not first time what happen with Binance exchange but I don't sure how long Binance keep stable and strong against with SEC Commission and we know their reputation success destroy many altcoin kinds until have lower values.

Binance seems not respond against SEC, actually its bad impact how to make Binance's member keep trust with this exchange without have new update or announcement about Binance exchange in the good position right now.

The Securities exchange commission may have a bad image on the faces of the public but it doesn't kill the fact that Binance did something wrong, no way in those charges Biance will deny all in court that they are not responsible for such, and besides, I still think it is a payback time because of how FTX collapse back in 2022, Sam Bankman will be happy wherever he is now with this Binance scrutiny and hunt.

BNB holders are not the only ones affected, more than 20 reputable altcoins were hurt as well and also felt the heat, they are been profiled as security and not only Binance alone will face those charges, even the altcoins founder will face the same charges, and it will affect the market in a long run because look at ripple charges till now, they are still battling in court for the same reason.
1177  Economy / Economics / Re: Is poverty a lack of money? on: June 15, 2023, 07:53:41 PM
I see poverty as the inability to provide what you need. So when people assume that poverty is when you don't have money I don't agree. Now what if you have all you need and you don't require money to buy anything, are you poor? Some people live in communities where everyone lives agrarian life. They have all they need because everything they need to survive is available. Food is on the farm, water available and everybody is happy. Although it was hard during the Covid-19 lockdown many people lived without money. I have also seen many people leaving cities and moving to rural areas to live a natural life.

In summary when you have everything you need to survive and you don't need money, are you poor?

Some people fall into the wrong side of history and that has limited them with the resources they had today despite many generations that have passed on to them today, the privilege to enjoy some benefits is not there though there are some people that are rich today because their great generations have done some bad things in the past, some have indulged into illegal business and money deals, today their grandchildren generation are enjoying the wealth today.

Just as I have said earlier, some generations were not favored inequality, slavery also contributed to some of these aspects, racism, and ethnic hate contributed to why we have numbers of poverties but Africa has a factor, education was one of the major roles why some people were privileged today because they were in bigger place earlier when they had their basic educations than people who never did until their generation later hops into the game.

Now back to your question, I think there is a difference between poverty and being poor, being poor depends on the individual mind, I can be using a Gucci product and choose to say that those who wear ordinary brands as fake, I could also see someone eating or drinking cheap food and may see them as poor and there is another person in another place seeing me as also been poor, poor depends on individual definition but poverty is something I don't want to wish for anyone.
1178  Other / Archival / Re: No panic while holding my Bitcoin on: June 15, 2023, 07:30:31 PM
Indeed knowledge is power, because knowledge can save you when money failed, because knowledge failure is a lifetime problem but money failure in terms of investment is temporally and if I wait I will soon be in profit again very soon, that is what past records have shown and proven.

Panic and fear are natural and they are good for the human though, you need to be cautious in your actions, the OGs sometimes get scared as well in this market, no way you will invest in Bitcoin as a first-timer without exhibiting that in the beginning but with time, it will depreciate and vanish into the thin air when you understand how the market work or probably made some profits after holding for some time. However, hope you know that emotion is part of why money is been made from this market; people sell because of panic from others and people can also become excited when everyone is buying, emotion is what control the Bitcoin market.
1179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop stressing kids with bitcoin on: June 15, 2023, 07:17:25 PM
I've seen several threads where people preach teaching bitcoin to kids and I've also seen threads where others talked about having  some savings(investments) in bitcoin  for their kids which is right.

Just as my topic reads, we should stop stressing  kids with wanting them do things we didn't meet up doing and at some points getting them mentally stressed.

Please don't get me wrong because I'm typically  not against teaching  or maybe introducing bitcoin  to your kids but I'm  on the opinion  that rather than bother them with this complicated digital asset (bitcoin) knowing fully well that no matter how much knowledge  we have about it, if we don't have the money to buy, then we'll  certainly  miss out, and judging from this, I don't think it's wise teaching them or wanting to force it on them when we know that they can't afford it.

I will suggest that, rather than bore them with the history of bitcoin,  why not get a portfolio for them and keep investing in it and watch it grow with them and when they're of age, then you can practically  show them the needful.

I want to know if there are people who also share same opinion with me and please lets just discuss rather than argue

I think some of these threads relating to the introduction of kids to Bitcoin are for merit fishing and maybe some of them are looking for engagement and trolling around the forum, no serious person will want to put kids under the stress of Bitcoin, believe me when I say that Bitcoin is not for the kids because even adults find difficult in the early stage of their introduction to the bitcoin, I don't find it as amusing thing but the education is necessary for the kids.

Life is complex you know, I can remember back in elementary school when mathematics are introduced in its simplest form but as you graduate, they get harder and harder until you reach a level where they introduce complex algebraic and trigonometric, I think Bitcoin can be done in that way to give them the early nutrient of Bitcoin they need, all kids need education and the way the world is fast changing, it will be of good not to let your kids be illiterate of essential things.
1180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto exchanges on: June 15, 2023, 05:57:09 PM
Hey, everyone   Smiley
I have recently started to be interested in the issue of cryptocurrency, please, tell me which exchanges are considered the safest and most convenient?

Crypto is dominated by centralized exchanges, recommending anyone of them for you is like putting you inside a tiger cage and locking the key because they cannot be trusted, one day you will lose access to your fund, and no one would pray for such kind of thing, look at Binance.US for example, the security exchange commission also known as SEC is considering confiscating users fund because they believe they are into some shady and insider deals, they believe Binance.US have violated their laws and as such, they are demanding the court to give them the order to seize the fund under Binance.US custody until all investigations are done, they are trying to seize users fund that belongs to customers which is a very bad move. It is always advisable you move your coins into self-custody for the safety of your funds and, lastly, never do KYC on any exchange, that's giving out your privacy to another company that cannot be trusted.
