1161  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: scammers using Exodus wallet fake email on: August 03, 2023, 11:16:15 AM
But the point I would make in general is why people put their coins into a wallet that requires login or email or KYC or any of those things, the wallet should be fully decentralized.
Exchanges are often described as centralized or decentralized, as you need a third party to exchange betwwen crypto and crypto to fiat.
wallets are described as closed source, open source, or non-custodial, custodial, but if the wallet is central (you need to connect to a central node), it is still safe if your private key generated in true random entropy and in clean opensource OS, the only problem here is privacy.

People use Exodus wallet because of the paid articles that appear when you search using keywords like BEST BITCOIN WALLET OR MILTICRYPTO WALLET and it's attractive but after a while you'll notice that its fees are high, it's closed source, and has no privacy.
1162  Other / Archival / Re: 🌀 [banned mixer] - CoinJoin Mixer | Your Anonymity Is Our Priority! on: August 03, 2023, 10:55:16 AM
~~

UniJoin given some information here, the version is limited and maybe you will get it for free or it will be randomly distributed, the charged balance is 0.001 bitcoin and you can withdraw it, they do not provide a service where you can buy hundreds of these cards so it is a collectible item.

I'd say it's more of a collectible item considering it's a limited edition card, but yes you can withdraw bitcoins from this card if you want. On the reverse side of the card there will be a hologram, opening which you will find a private key (holograms are supplied by one of the most trusted users of the forum). Feel free to ask if you have any further questions.

The thing that I did not like is the presence of the word (your anonymity is our priority) and directly below it is the Bitcoin address and on the side QR CODE. These products are shipped to a home address.
The design is attractive. I liked it a lot. If it was paid and without a private key, I would have bought it.

1163  Economy / Economics / Re: what do we thinking about investment target? on: August 02, 2023, 06:08:06 PM
What you are trying to say is the same as what you will get when you read about investing or ask someone how to invest my money, but you cannot apply these tips.

A low-risk investment is good, but if the return is about 5% and inflation is about 20%, then you are losing your money, as inflation is growing faster than the growth of your assets.
Gold is not an investment, but rather an investment and savings. The price of gold in the long term performs well against inflation, but we cannot consider gold and stocks as an investment or real estate due to the lack of connection between these assets with each other, and therefore diversifying investment in all of them is the best.

You did not mention high-risk investments as Bitcoin, which is the basis of discussions in this forum.
1164  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bold steps leads to another bitcoin achievement (New phone launched) on: August 02, 2023, 06:02:12 PM
I tried to find out the average wage in Nigeria and got different numbers from about $700 to $35 per month. We can consider $200 as a good average, since you joined a signature campaign as a woman, and you have obligations at home, in addition to your own time. I congratulate you. Now you can get Your income is additional, and it is better to invest this money in Bitcoin, and it may be a beneficial return for your small family and society. Now it's a phone, but it's the beginning of a better life for you, so congratulations.
1165  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Automatic sending of payment to specific address on: August 02, 2023, 05:31:25 PM
As for custodial service that automates send, I don't know any and wont recommend any.
I found some services, but they are closed source and custodial, they have free plans for about 1000 TX and good plans for commercial accounts but I don't think it is a good idea.

If there is a campaign manager and is sure that the members are creating high-quality posts, then writing code as well would be fun, or at least on the Lightning Network if the payment was for each individual post.

I'm planning to commit funds on a foundation using my signature campaign earnings every week. Is this possible on Electrum? If not, what wallet do you recommend doing this kind of transaction?
After reading your topic again, why not ask the campaign manager to modify your address to the foundation address directly, he will not mind doing that for a week or two, and you can ask him to send, for example, 50% of the balance and keep the rest for you.
1166  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crypto news feed on: August 02, 2023, 05:16:48 PM
Yes it works now but using a VPN.
This is not supposed to happen, all the data that is collected is from sources available to all, and I do not think that the site is banned in your country, there is no page for privacy or terms of use to support my position, but it is wrong that there are restrictions according to the IP address.

I do not know if we can get the choice to filter out the news sources. I haven't made the account on this site so i also do not know what additional benefits we will get once we create an account there.
There are two filters, the first is according to Trust score and the second is according to Sources. I don't know how trust works, but the results are still random.

We show interest more than @OP since he did not answer any of our questions.
1167  Economy / Exchanges / Re: All cryptocurrency are security asset except bitcoin - SEC on: August 01, 2023, 05:31:43 PM
Let’s face the reality, Bitcoin is clearly not a security it doesn’t introduce through token sales. Also there’s no way SEC will sue Bitcoin since it’s creator is completely anonymous and the community is the one who rums the blockchain.
There is nothing to prevent the SEC from classifying bitcoin as a security, and since they have not yet done so, there is nothing to prevent them from doing so, but as I said earlier, the SEC has no final authority to judge any cryptocurrency to be a security or not.

We have many altcoins with anonymous developers, and the community is decentralized however according to the rating above they are security.

This paper explains better https://corpgov.law.harvard.edu/2022/12/06/why-cryptoassets-are-not-securities/ but this will put us in front of a legal controversy that may take several years to issue a final ruling.
1168  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Automatic sending of payment to specific address on: August 01, 2023, 05:25:11 PM
Do automatic transfer for funds is possible on Electrum? Example, I want to send specific amount of BTC to an address every week/month in regular basis without the need to open my electrum wallet.

Yes, it is possible that you can automate it, but you need to write a script that checks every day, minute, hour, or week, when the balance is more than a certain amount, then something like

Code:
electrum payto <address> <amount>

But I do not advise you to do that, as the script will need to be connected to the Internet, and therefore the wallet will be hot.

1169  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Which CEX did you use and what are your reasons for adopting the exchange? on: August 01, 2023, 04:49:58 PM
non-KYC mandatory,
CEX cannot say that it does not KYC, and if it does, it should be avoided, but it is lenient, as you can enter any data and you will reach L2, where you can trade up to $10,000 per day, with clear alerts and a relatively long timetable before changing any conditions of TOS.
If CEX requires identity verification, here are the trading volumes, withdrawal fees, availability of liquidity, speed of executing large orders are the criteria for choosing between them, and it is better to use several platforms to distribute the loss (if it occurs)

The user must be constantly informed of the latest news, take any rumor seriously and withdraw his coins directly, as sometimes rumors are true.
1170  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: USB Mining on: August 01, 2023, 04:16:14 PM
1 x Power Adapter DC 12V/10A.
6 X GekkoScience COMPAC F 2.1+TH/S
The Compac F Is The Most Powerful USB Bitcoin Miner Ever Made – That Actually Turns A Profit In Most Cases.
Talking about USB Bitcoin Miner is nonsense caused by the extremely rare possibility of Solo Miner Nets $215K in BTC Using a Mini USB Rig and it was exploited badly by some articles and YouTube channels as the USB Rig was 8.3 TH/s (note that per device is less than 500 GH/s)

USB miner is something to try and it is not possible to make a good profit with it. you need a mining ring to make about ~3/day for some altcoins which is not so profitable.
1171  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for August on: August 01, 2023, 04:06:42 PM
28k is not a long-term support or resistance point, so we cannot use it as a reference to predict the price. We can say that whether the price will be less than $30,000 or will it be less than $26,000, will it pass the $32,000 point, as all of them represent support and resistance points in the medium and long term.
In this month, there are many factors that will pressure the price, including:

  • It's summer when everyone's outside and there's not much trading going on.
  • The results of the third quarter will begin to take shape, so there is no active movement.
  • The interest rate hike (which may occur at the next meeting) will be calculated this month, which will put pressure on the price.

So I think we will be at some point less than $32,000.
1172  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crypto news feed on: August 01, 2023, 03:43:44 PM
Did you try on https://alphabase.ai/recent
You will see a Twitter-like news feed, where posts from specific Twitter accounts and sometimes specific Telegram posts appear.
Yes, I tried it. At first, a little news appears, but when I click on something else and then press "Recent" again, I get an error after a few seconds, as shown in the picture.
It works now, I can customize the language to English and Russian, and I can customize the social media. The site did not ask me to customize the content using cookies, and I did not find a way to customize anything.
The search feature is still very random but overall, it works, I hope with continued development the results will be better as the backbone of such sites is the quality of the search algorithm.

The site works in the dark mode and it is clean. If the development continues, it will be a good option for some.
1173  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: WARNING when using mobile device wallets (Android, iOS) on: August 01, 2023, 03:32:20 PM
Mobile wallets are not exactly the most secure wallets in the world, but in case you really have to use them, please keep in mind one very important piece of information.

Thanks for the tips, I might add to them:
  • Make sure that the keyboard does not get permissions to read files or clipboards, as your privacy such as addresses or even the private key can read them.
  • Cancel the permissions for this keyboard to connect to the Internet, as it does not need to connect to the Internet.
  • Use open source sources.

Do not complete your wallet seed word, as by choosing the first two letters, the wallet can suggest several words and choose from them. I think that even if the keyboard is connected to the Internet, not completing the word will complicate the task for them a lot.

Somebody has already been robbed (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5461230.msg62613622#msg62613622) because of this. You must only use the stock Android or Apple keyboard, and no others. Better if you uninstall all 3rd party keyboards completely.
Good wallets give you a keyboard inside the wallet. For example, I tried to create a new electrum wallet on my phone, and this is the keyboard.
1174  Economy / Exchanges / Re: All cryptocurrency are security asset except bitcoin - SEC on: July 31, 2023, 10:00:49 AM
As for me, any coin that has ICO, IEO or IDO are securities. Also any coin that is using proof of stake are securities. SEC needs to come up with a clear definition.
This is also what I understood that all POS cryptocurrencies are securities, and they include all coins or tokens that you can staking because your can get a return from investments in that blockchains, but not all altcoins  are ICO, IEO, IDO DeFI are POS coins some altcoins are a hardfork of Bitcoin such as Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash or privacy coins like Monero and many more coins that fall into the PoW category.

In any event, SEC has no final authority to judge any cryptocurrency to be a security or not.

https://corpgov.law.harvard.edu/2022/12/06/why-cryptoassets-are-not-securities/

Quote
An intriguing new paper, The Ineluctable Modality of Securities Law: Why Fungible Crypto Assets Are Not Securities,[4] points us to the right path. The paper analyzes the relevant caselaw and concludes there is scant legal basis to treat fungible cryptoassets as securities, and it sets out analytical approach that is far more satisfying. The paper separates capital raising transactions by blockchain project sponsors or other insiders in which a cryptoasset may be sold—which are typically securities transactions—from the treatment of the cryptoasset, which is not a security. This analytical framework addresses the now apparent challenges created by the SEC staff’s approach and appropriately focuses the SEC’s regulatory jurisdiction on capital raising transactions.
1175  Economy / Economics / Re: The Vulture "Economist" on: July 31, 2023, 09:39:33 AM
May I ask what the two Legendary members above are replying to, exactly?  I don't understand whatever it is OP is trying to get across, and if I were just a tad more motivated I'd check that post for plagiarism (Not accusing you, OP.  Just my suspicious mind being suspicious).
I think he is talking about saving, how saving can be harmful to health and relatives, and how you can save for your future while not affecting family, friends and your health. Frankly, it is difficult to understand the point he is trying to make, but I think above two Legendary members replying based on this story.

No one can tell you the perfect savings formula. The health and economic situation differs from one country to another and even among members of the same family. they are psychological and economic factors that are intertwined with the economic situation.
1176  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crypto news feed on: July 31, 2023, 09:23:49 AM
I liked the idea, but why do I need to create an account to be able to get any data? Honestly, I closed the browser after I was asked for email code. These are extra steps that are not necessary. You can ask users to create an account after they have access to a certain number of data or when they want to customize the data . What customizations can the user get? Is it related to prices, technical news, or important updates?
1177  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: A Feature in electrum wallet on: July 31, 2023, 08:57:20 AM
I have around 0.04 BTC sitting in my wallet at a couple of addresses. Since it wasn't wiped, I guess it's not compromised yet.
But I will create another wallet and move my funds for further security.
If 0.04 BTC is a good investment for you and you are skeptical or afraid, then I suggest that you read a little about how Bitcoin works and the basics of creating an airgapped system. It may be appropriate for you to buy a hardware wallet according to your budget, but without creating a new wallet in an environment that did not and will not connect to the Internet, or at least it is safe ( An open source OS, you do not download applications of unknown sources or randomly click on links) you will not get rid of these doubts.

creating a watchonly wallet would be a better option instead of reopening your wallet from time to time.

Today I saw a thread in the scam accusation board where a guy claims $165K ETH was wiped from his wallet. I don't know what wallet he was using. I have read similar cases in this forum. A campaign manager named Julerz was hacked, and he used Electrum then. I am afraid about it.
The story of 165K ETH may not be true, and Julerz coins had stolen because of malware, as the coins were stolen as soon as the wallet was opened, so the hackers might not have waited until the new BIG transfer happen.
1178  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: LIPA, a non-custodial Lightning wallet without sending function on: July 31, 2023, 08:38:53 AM
We can say that they claim to be a non-custodial wallet, but without the code being open source, we cannot verify these claims and some actions such as banning service for a specific country or not possible to send except under certain conditions that contradict the principle that you have access to the private key aka custodial wallet.

This service is centralized and there are other alternatives to the Lightning Network, so there is no reason to use them.
I don't know what language the site is written in, so I couldn't understand them.

1179  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Popular crypto influencer Pauly accused of Millions of Dollars Fraud. on: July 31, 2023, 08:30:34 AM
Such behaviors will decrease if cryptocurrencies are regulated as assets or shares that are traded because what happened is manipulation to harm the interest of investors. I do not know whether future rulings will be made retroactively or not, but is it not possible to prosecute such fraud?
I hope that it will not be an influential loss for the families of these investors. Blind trust in things they are famous for because they have thousands of followers is a behavior that must be changed by many.
1180  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Online mining on: July 28, 2023, 12:24:13 PM
I just launch a website for Trade and Mining , And i want to ask from which site i can get license for add a Crypto online Wallet and Mining System and how i get profit from this

I do not know what size of the site you want to manage, but if it is small, you will need to create a commercial account and manage the API for several central platforms, while promoting your service for a commission, but creating a trading platform from scratch and with your own balance is very expensive.

Cloud mining is not what I think people would opt for. To the best of my knowledge and from many responses I have read here, cloud mining seems to be more of a scam than pool mining. I myself have engaged in many cloud mining sites in the past and all turns out to be a scam requesting for huge amount of money as fee for withdrawal when what you are mining is not up to a tangible amount.
As you have said possibly he did not really have idea what he is into. He does not know the modalities involved and what measures is best to be taken hence this kind of post from him.

Quoting the responses above in this way makes them more difficult to read.
Mining requires some risk, as you will buy mining equipment, space availability, energy source availability, cooling mechanism, and then your profit depends on these factors and other factors that you do not control, such as the difficulty of mining, the mining basin that you join, so all of these things make companies consider mining a high-risk activity Volatile factors and avoid it, and then it is impossible, and after all these risks, to provide you with this service with guaranteed profits in exchange for paying a certain amount.
You can understand if the service buys you devices and installs them for a fee, and even here, you must calculate the costs well.
