What a magnificent performance made by McClaren and his drivers, really imprssive, i cant believe how they managed to fight also against Max Verstappen for a few laps.

I hope they can maintain this level on the nexts races, and we finally see Mcclaren coming back to the big fight and not against Alpine for 5/6 position in manufacters.

You know that car was really good when they put a hard compound in Norris and still beat Mercedes and LW in fast soft tyre. When i saw that move in tv i think they destroyed the whole race of Norris, but seems like the correct option.

Well i think nobody was expecting this freepractice results, man.... WTF was happening on Mercedes side?, they seems like trash in his home race.

And Williams with Albon in thrid position? who can expect that?. And... Logan in fifth position, really incredible, it was a change of livery between Williams and Mercedes?  Grin

While we have been discussing about the upcoming FIFA, I would like to add a small information about India. With the win against Kuwait, India became the SAFF Championship Winners of 2023. With this win India have come under the top 100 countries on the FIFA rank list. This doesn't look like a big achievement for others, but as a person from India I find this to be something great.

It is always nice to see some countries climb up the ranking in world soccer although it also means that others had to be dropping in the ranking first Wink

But still when India would take soccer more seriously and it were to establish as a national sport over the coming decades, imagine how much potential the country has to source players from their population. But this shows that population is only a minor factor whether a nation has a good team or not or otherwise China would also be leading the ranking or be in the top 10 or something. Now they are 79th I think.

We always talk about population and ammount of players you can produce, and yes theorically and in maths this its correct, but we see in the reality this doesnt happen.

China still doesnt produce any DECENT player, and thei invest some money on football, USA its developing someone but more from Latin people who emigrates into USA than real USA players.

The main example can be Mexico, a country where football its one of the main sports and they still not making any good in football.

The latest news that I follow says that the manager of Sadio Mane has denied rumors of Mane going to the SPL, and so far they have not received any offers from Al-Ahli. And about Bernardo Silva I'm not sure he will accept an offer from Al-Hilal even though their offer is quite tempting, namely 3 times the salary than when he was at Manchester City, this player still has the potential to play in the major leagues with his current age.

It seems Sadio Mane is very much close to the exit doors in Bayern Munich and he is going to Saido teams soon because even Bayern Munich doesn't want to continue working with him and they prefer to keep trying to hire Harry Kane from Tottenham.

[/quote]

ITs good to Mane to exit from Bayer Munich, he doesnt  have a good path on Bayern and also he have that problem with one of his companions, so i dont think that relationship its gonna healt, better to him to walk away and find a new path.

Is Malta doing something new or they have Brazil players with their citizenship or what?
They will play in U19 Euro final against Portugal who smashed Italy with five goals like a knife through soft mozzarella cheese.
I never saw such low odds for favorite to win in final in any sport like Portugal vs Malta.

Maybe buwaytress will try one of his underdog bets on Malta with odds 55?  Grin

I see this happen a lot on FUTSAL or in Handball in countries like Qatar or some others from middle east, i dont know why this doesnt happen on normal Football, so are we gonna start to see this? Malta becoming a OP?

Firmino refused to extend his contract with Liverpool since they didn't agree to rise his salary and because they recruited Nunez in part. Overall the player was reported to leave Anfield but it was not expected to join a league outside of Europe apart from the last days where we heard that he is in contact with Al Ahli.
He is too young to play there in my opinion but it is his choice in the end.
Roberto Firmino is not young anymore, he is already 31 years old and will be 32 years old in October. Liverpool should let him go for the same reason, that's because Liverpool always find it difficult to pay the high salary demands of their players. Mane had to suffer the same fate last season, as did several other players who have been released by Liverpool in recent seasons.

Do you believe that if you want Liverpool to increase your salary, then only two options are most likely to be achieved, that is to stay for the same salary or go to another team.

Yes but in this modern football 31 its not so old like 10 or 20 years ago, now we can see players still at top level at 38 years old.

I really like to see how this players are gonna play on the Saudi Arabia league, because maybe a lot of them start to play with less effort than in Europe, but surely when a lot of them are in the league that can make more competitive.

Now things for the Argentine star are going to change much more , at Inter Miami things are not as Stressful as in Europe , things can look bad for many , but you also have to think about your well-being as a person and for your family , things can Change from one moment to another and everything is going for a better path.

Yes also but a lot of people here, maybe you dont know but Miami its the main city of the "Latinos", mayority of caribeans countries like Cuba, Mexico , Venezuela , Colombia, but also from the 80 a lot of Argentinians are living and investing there, some of the most famous celebrities after retirement always go to Miami from thei holidays so he its gonna be ina  much more friendly side.

Szoboszlai (not going to check his name spelling) the latest midfield boost for Liverpool. Not exactly getting me super excited, but I like our new number 7s and 10s Wink

Really good player, if he can acomodate fast to the premier league rhythm we can see a new gem, yes not that new, because he already is a gem, but he can develop into a diamond, lets see how Klopp make all the pieces play together, Mccallister Szoboszlai, Thiago, Luis Diaz, etc.

Seems like Klopp its searching for more attack.
1169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: July 05, 2023, 02:23:59 AM
First of all, the Saudis started with bribing FIFA to host the world cup 5o bring to world to Saudi- Arabia. It didn't end there after the world cup, they went further to buy Ronaldo to still keep the world attention on the country and gradually they are diverting the world to their league by also buying new players from other European clubs.

I know that it wouldn't end here because Saudi Arabia have plans to make their league popular by getting awareness with these world classic players. I will say that it is a strategy that is working for them to be part of the world most watched league in the near future. One advantage that I see will make them achieve their goal is that the country is rich and has rich investors.

Regardless of bribes or not, I think the marketing strategy carried out by the Arab Pro League for the league's visibility is far better than many leagues in Asia. They have support, of course that is because of the large amount of money from institutional or private investors. If they can maintain this trend, then I'm sure the Arab Pro League can actually be more famous than the Chinese Super League.

The Arab Pro League has started its new history and it is much better for the development and growth of the interest in sports in the country. Businesses will grow and many other things will also make the country more profitable.

Yes but as far as i understand and i dont know why, Arabia Saudi withdraw their postulation to host the World CUp in 2030, very strange, some media said its because they think they dont have any chance against Spain-Portugal-Moroco, but i dont see that way. So the 2030 World cup its between Spain-Portugal and south american theorically.

I think Arsenal transfer until now its pretty bad based on the ammount of money they spend, only Declan Rice seems like a good deal.

But you know Arteta knows more than us. I hope they dont lose the good track they were developing, because this year Premier League its gonna be really hard, with Chelsea Liverpool and Manutd pushing really hard, to not have again a "bad" season.

San Antonio can be a good place for an old Damian Lillard, when the number 1 draft diamond boy learning from him. The only thing that prevent this to happen its San Antonio never had a star player on hiw file, and yes tim duncan parker ginobili were stars but they are formed in San Antonio.
And DL its more individual player than collective.

I dont like this change of livery in Mcclaren, some of them are horrible, and made it only for the power of money. The only good one was the gulf, because it remember to a the great past one.

I expect Mercedes making a good race in his "home" race. The past year Russel was very unlucky in that start.
1173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: July 04, 2023, 04:59:29 PM
we will not really know what is the reason for the rich club owners in Arab. They bought European players at very high prices. it's a business, yes we know of course it's going to bring in a lot of money in terms of sponsorship and broadcast rights.
I think the arrival of European players there can also build and motivate their young players to compete. but there may be an adverse effect when one team will have 50% of players from Europe. and it makes the opportunity for their local players even less to play.

At the moment, it does not even look like a business from afar - such investments will never pay off. This is politics.
Real business is now (in Europe) starting to suffer like never before - more players are leaving and those who stay are logically demanding higher wages as the market has suddenly become very hot.

I think in a very similar way, also if we think in the globalization itself , and in the football, football isnt fully globalized in terms of distribution of power, on clubs. All its in Europe and this can start to change with USA, Arabia and also China if they want to retake that way.

About Gerrard, i think its not a good step.

I think the best drivers of this race were Perez, Sainz and Norris. Especially Perez's rise was really worth watching.

I always dont know what to think about Perez comes back, because if you think about how dominant his car is, make not so worth that comeback. I mean yes he is a good driver, but i think most of the field with that car can make de same.

Sainz its not being lucky, the bad pitstop and after the sanction.

What you said is true if he can join a big European team to be able to improve his playing skills and also the popularity of his name, then I'm sure Arda Guler will become one of the star players for Turkey in the future.

Barca president Joan Laporta has confirmed that the club are edging closer to completing a deal for the 18-year-old midfielder, whose release clause stands at €17.5m. "He is a very young player, it is true that our scouts have been following him for a long time and many big clubs in Europe want him. We are talking to Fenerbahce,” Laporta told TV3.
https://www.goal.com/en-us/news/arda-guler-told-put-off-barcelona-transfer-by-mesut-ozil-joan-laporta-confirms-talks-fenerbahce-wonderkid/bltcdc8505373221e05

The Spanish press also started to write about Arda Güler. There are rumors that Barcelona will sign him. It is also said that Barcelona will sign a 5-year contract with Arda Güler and will set the release clause as 1 billion Euros. There is even a statement by Laporta and it is known that Deco met with Arda Güler. I think this transfer is largely complete. They will transfer Arda Güler and let him play for Fenerbahçe for one more year. Then we will watch him in Barcelona. The process will go roughly like this.

I still remember Arda Turan in Barcelona.... ended being a very bad transfer, i dont know what happen to him, he was a A+ player when he comes from Atletico Madrid. So lets see how Arda guler develop.

For me this move from Barcelona shows they are very low on money.

Red Bull are too strong and we are seeing one of biggest dominations in history of sport. I hope someone will catch up or people will stop watching it cause it's getting boring.

I think RedBull have the chance in their hands to broke the record of the most dominating car in history hold by the Mcclaren from Senna and Prost era, followed by the Mercedes froma few years ago.

WE have 12 more races, its a lot but MV and RB are so much dominating and they can make that possible the 100% rate of wins. The only chance to not achieve that its a engine failure or a crash, but for that maybe Perez can win when one car its broken.

I hope this not happen i dont like a 100% win from one team.

I'm afraid antiviruses spy on you, especially free ones.
Windows spies on you more than any antivirus software. Windows is a privacy nightmare. Check out the links I shared in this post. Even if you try to sanitize Windows, turn off all the extra features, block or disable as much of the privacy invasion as you can, it still transmits data back to Microsoft and a variety of third parties about your device and what you are doing on it hundreds or even thousands of times an hour.

If you are using Windows, then whether your antivirus is spying on you is the least of your concerns.

Yes but sadly for the people they only choose between the "less bad", so instead of share their info with X they want to share they info with a big tech, because you know..... "its a wellknow and reputable company..."  Grin

But its understable thinking about they are not gonna scam you but if you have one problem with goverment.... GG for you. Anyways i think the  mos flawed privacy we have its in the smartphones and with google, we spend more time and we generate much more info in smartphones than in PC.

Lol, 82 NBA games aren't as demanding on a body as 17 NFL games.  It's a gladiator sport, with a ball thrown into the mix just for fun.

Mmm yes you have a good point here but, how do you can maintain that point when the brother sport of NFL (rugby) play the whole year , and also they dont make changes constantly between ofensive and defensive players. NFL games have ton of rest between efforts. Before anyone think im understimating the effort of NFL players, its huge and one of the most powerfulls when they have to make the strenght.

Also, one more piece of news came out and I thought they are just discussing the matter about the roster.
Damian Lillard requests trade after 11 seasons with Blazers
Damian Lillard is calling his shot. Portland's all-time leading scorer is ready to leave the only team he's ever played for.

https://www.nba.com/news/blazers-damian-lillard-requests-trade

Honestly, I'm not that surprised about his move for requesting a trade because I already gave it a thought beforehand that sooner or later, Damian Lillard will force a trade as Portland cannot just bring some superstar by his side to provide more results for the team.

I mean, I know he could have requested a trade if he wanted to in the past few years but he chose to stay and gave the Portland some chance.

Damian Lillard trade destinations: Star wants Heat, but plenty of other teams have more to offer

Very sad to see Dame Lillard and Portland ending this way. I remember when they were  a contender, really nice team with CJ and him, but always something lack on that team, also they fight against the mighty Golde State. So no luck on the time they play, so good franchisce in the west coast at the same time.
