1161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I want to short LTC on: April 30, 2013, 10:20:26 PM
The term should be the same as my contract, so until September 4th, 2013.

However, I would expect to have paid back the LTC before then as I don't see the price staying within certain levels for long.

I'm not sure what you mean by the strike price?

1162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / I want to short LTC on: April 30, 2013, 08:00:54 PM
I hope this is ok, I originally posted the following in the main lending forum but have had zero interest. This probably a better place to ask.

I'm looking for this loan in order to short LTC.

I have a few option contracts with profits that kick in after $5. Here is one of them: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=165374

What I want to do - now that LTC is getting close to the required level - is guarantee myself some profits whatever happens.

I would like the loan to start when LTC is at $5.xx. I will sell them straight away for USD.

If the price falls I buy back the LTC at a cheaper rate, if it continues to rise I buy back what I can with the USD and make up the rest from the proceeds from one of my contracts.

I'm not sure how much LTC I'm looking for yet - that will depend on how much interest is shown and also what rate I would be looking at. It would be good to get some offers

I've not seen any LTC loans on here, but I'm hoping someone will be willing. I would be happy to receive BTC and exchange it myself for LTC, but the loan would have to be LTC denominated.

Thanks.

1164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC Wall Observer - BTC-e wall movement tracker on: April 29, 2013, 06:35:37 PM

This is quite a sell wall!

151,822 LTC @ $4.05 = $614,879

What do you guys make of it?

Someone is pretty desperate to keep the price down it seems.
1165  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help buying LTC / BTC in UK on: April 28, 2013, 08:44:27 PM
Thanks for the replies guys!
I managed to get more by using this method - feel free to try it but it again ends up costing you more due to fee's etc.

Sign up at Virwox.com

Add funds (limited to £48 a day)
Buy SLL with your £
Now you have SLL you can sell this for BTC and withdraw it to where you like!

Enjoy! Smiley
What methods of payment do Virox.com accept?
1166  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help buying LTC / BTC in UK on: April 28, 2013, 07:55:28 PM
It's crazy how hard it is to trade GBP for BTC/LTC.

The amount of hoops you have to jump through for the FSA recognise you as a legitimate exchange must be crazy.

BUT The first entity to work this out will make a lot of money!
1167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MTGox FINALLY announces LTC!! on: April 28, 2013, 07:17:54 PM
Any time frame? weeks? months?

BTC is Gox's cash cow - this move may well damage that; lets see.

Doesn't matter. When it comes it will be a godsend. Think of how many people will look at LTC at being $4 and think "this is like bitcoin years ago!". That will change everything. Imagine what LTC you buy now going up to $10, or $15. Thats an easy call, people will diversify in to LTC just for the sake of diversifying and riding the small fluctuation that Gox trading will bring it. It will also finally give us a way to arbitrage between exchanges without needing to get stuck with FIAT. It will allow us to hide our cryptocoins- trade from one to another and it will be impossible to track you through the blockchain. You coins will go into the exchange from one address and come out totally fresh and clean. We need a second cryptocurrency if only for the sake of privacy.

THIS

I don't think a lot of people have worked out the implications.
1168  Economy / Auctions / Re: AUCTION - Casascius Coin, 1 BTC, 9/19/2011, GRADED MS63! on: April 28, 2013, 05:53:42 PM
If this auction doesn't go anywhere, I'll be forced to put it on eBay.  Don't make me put it on eBay, people!

Are you surprised when you try to sell a max worth 2-3 BTC item for 5 BTC?
Well, I sold the last one for $866 on eBay, and that wasn't a graded coin.  Any of the 2011 coins in good condition are still regularly going for $900 on eBay.  I figure that I could start the auction at less than $866 and have a few bids, since I (thought) I could reasonably expect the auction for a graded coin to go higher than the auctions on eBay for ungraded coins.

I guess people on eBay are just willing to pay that much higher of a premium though?
A graded series 1 is worth a lot more than 2-3 BTC, IMO.

I think you'll reach your reserve.

1172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FOR SALE] 3,500 Feathercoins on: April 25, 2013, 11:43:48 AM
and why should someone be interested into feathercoins? how will he be able to trade them on btc-e?
Feathercoins are a new coin based on Litecoin. They use scrypt so aren't able to be mined on ASICs supposedly. There seems to be a fair bit of interest in them!

They aren't currently tradable on btc-e.

1173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FOR SALE] 3,500 Feathercoins on: April 25, 2013, 11:34:56 AM
i would change for bbq coins and offer you 2000 bbq for 500 fc
Sorry, only interested in LTC or BTC really.

However, I would consider other alt coins that are traded on BTC-E.

I guess people might be being lazy and not asking to be removed from the list.
1177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC/FC exchange via Google Docs [Bid 26 LTC | Ask 24.5 LTC] on: April 24, 2013, 08:19:26 PM

1178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ( WTS ) 5k FC on: April 24, 2013, 08:08:29 PM
Can you PM a mod with evidence so they can tag him as such?
1179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC/FC exchange via Google Docs [Bid 26 LTC | Ask 24.5 LTC] on: April 24, 2013, 05:58:58 PM
Litecoin going up so much in dollar value today is impacting on the prices a little bit...

Yes, and the re-adjusted difficulty is smaller than was expected.  (by about 25%)
I think I decided I'll just hang onto my FC for a while.

The last time, I mined PPC for a slight advantage at the time , trading back btc, and the value months ahead of time was astronomical. (so was btc, but not quite the same ratio)
Definitely a good idea to be holding and the moment rather than selling.

I might even buy some more if the prices stay like this/go any lower.
1180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC/FC exchange via Google Docs [Bid 25 LTC | Ask 30 LTC] on: April 24, 2013, 02:23:43 PM
Please could you change my ask to 40 LTC when you get a chance. Thanks.
