If you could base this purely on Ether then imagine what would happen to ether prices? They will skyrocket even further - that would increase the value of funds raised. This will generate more hype and more interest.
That in turn would benefit the whole ether ecosystem.
It would be good if you could wait until some of the other ICOs are over and people can cash out first. I'm all out of investment funds until then.
Our goal is to support Eth and BTC (and other popular blockchains such as Lisk in future), enabling true multi-blockchain DAO's via Wings. We are quite aware of a certain ICO/DAO "fatigue" lately, and are actively discussing the best date to schedule the Wings DAO. Moreover, the Wings DAO will only start after we have the white-paper, prototype / testnet up and running and other tools and materials. |

Is wings a Lisk DAO?
No. Read the OP. It could use LISK in the future though I think. We certainly have Lisk support in our medium-terms plans, once the immediate goals of Wings on BTC/ETH are reached. There was also a communication recently with the Lisk team regarding future Wings integration with Lisk, and the Lisk team has responded positively on this matter. |

Bitmain is a company that sells bitcoin (and other crypto) mining equipment (I think they may even make them) and cloud mining. They also have their own pool. I think they are based in China. https://www.bitmain.comThey're a decent company. I've bought their miners (antminers) both directly and indirectly and they have worked well. I doubt they'll answer either of those questions but it's important to know before investing. I suspect Bitmain will be getting more for their money than the the regular ICO investors. I hope again they will distribute the ico fairly and equally to everybody. I really believe by doing so much more people will invest. Bitmain just invested not long time ago  Bitmain has invested via equity-deal only in the company developing Wings, called ChainLab. Wings DAO tokens will 100% distributed to token purchasers, without any pre-mine or early contributors allocations. |

So this means the NEWDAO have to pay some NEWDAO tokens to WingsDAO holders freely?
Seems the DAO holders on Ethereum platform need to vote and invest for new proposals(NEWDAO) to get NEWDAO tokens .
Wings will automatically issue and distribute the NEWDAO tokens to Wings DAO tokens holders according to their ownership percentage, hence no voting or additional purchase will be required on the Wings holders part. Additionally, the NEWDAO creator will have the option to specify during the DAO launch a combination of NEWDAO tokens and received funds in BTC/ETH that will be distributed to Wings tokens owners, thus enabling him/her to keep more tokens in exchange of distributing some of the received BTC/ETH. More details will be available in the Wings white-paper that we are currently working on. |

Good question. The names are different. There is "The DAO" which more or less resides at daohub.org and is referred to as "DAO", and then there is the Wings DAO which we think people will just call "Wings". I think there will be a lot more confusion for practitioners of Qigong as they have a much different take on the meaning of "dao". Besides the names the Wing DAO is different from "The DAO" in that the goal with Wings is to make a platform for people to easily launch their own Decentralized Autonomous Organizations. We don't see a world with just one monolithic DAO. |

i find it difficult to trust any of these new ones   With the relative ease of copy pasting code to create a smart contract on the Ethereum blockchain, we're probably going to see a whole lot more of these crop up than altcoins. Shoot, even if someone creates the necessary code from scratch, it might be 300 lines of code or less. I should go buy some more ETH and HODL. With these smart contracts reproducing like bunnies, it may create a constant buy pressure. Yes, our intention is so that people don't even need to look at code to create a DAO. So we hope to seem DAOs popping up all over (of course using Wings to set up). If you are an ETH holder than Wings will be using Ethereum's network and later Rootstock (EVM on BTC) for DAO smart contracts execution, and integrate with other popular networks (such as LISK). |

Most of the team has spent a lot of time on this site, and we felt it is the right place to make a pre-announcement to the Wings ICO. Having said that the crowd on Bitcointalk is probably more discerning and having a keen eye on calling just about every coin a scam than the general Internet crowd  |

Wings will have its own augmentation layer network but will support any popular network which has a running EVM (currently we are targeting Ethereum and Rootstock). |

I'm not co-founder of Lisk, i'm not a developer of Lisk. I'm only technical adviser, and help them when i have time and they need help. So you are not under any contract and you can not be forced to spend your time / work on LISK? Just asking to clear some things up, since it was kind of strange to run another ICO for DAO just right after working for a DAPPS ICO start-up. I serve as an advisor to LISK and not as a developer. To clarify, i am not under any contract with LISK and i do not receive any sort of compensation from LISK. I think it's actually better to invest in the actual DAO and see how that works out before investing in a copy.
Some would argue that the original DAO is Bitcoin, but that's all water under the bridge at this point. It seems to have worked out pretty well. We're very happy to see the adoption that Slock.It's The DAO Hub is seeing, as news of the $150+ million token sales gives exposure to a larger community of people outside the crypto echo chamber. The Wings team has been working on this for some time and we can say that while Wings is also a DAO like "The DAO", the focus is on being a simple to use DAO platform to enable even more DAOs to pop up like mushrooms in a Merkle tree forest. We're also working on a very cool decentralized chatbot technology that will make it unbelievably easy to launch, manage and participate in new DAOs using Ethereum smart contracts - and plan to support the EVM both on Ethereum and Bitcoin (when Rootstock is out). |
