1161  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner Block Erupter USB group buy (US/Canada) on: May 27, 2013, 11:50:35 PM
Specifically which anker 10 port usb 3.0 hub are you using? Could you please provide a website link to the item you have if available? Thank you.

the hub i'm using in that picture is the much discussed 12 port usb hub from saitechi. it wouldn't power more then 3 erupters. i've got an anker 10 port usb 3.0 now (and two more en route) running five of them plus the fan and my cell phone charger no problem.

Do you have any advertising promos? Or is there a specific link I can add to my sig to support this project? I love ideas like this and would like to support it in the best way I can right now. Since I obviously can't afford 50 of these puppies I'd like to give my support in the way of advertising for the product in my sig on various forums for the time being.
You could consider advertising group buys that go occur here...
I just finished my first one, will start the second one soon.

there are several people who run them, so take a look around and keep mining!! Smiley

Glad to see the lower minimum. Would have joined CanaryInTheMine's group buy but am currently in A+C one that just finished in Europe. Will be watching carefully for new USA group buys and any change in pricing of ASICMINER products in the future(including new or upgraded capabilities). Go friedcat Go!

Are these dimensions of the sample USB emerald version or the final sapphire version? Thank you.

Can you measure the thickness of the board+sink?

Also, how wide is the board?
________________MeasurementTonalImperialSI
Thickness: 9 Mˢ0.23in6mm
Width: 29 Mˢ1in25mm
Length: 68 Mˢ2.4in60mm
Length protruding from USB port: 5 Mˢ2.1in53mm
Length of PCB: 4 Mˢ1.8in45mm

You running it off 2.0 or 3.0 port?
The device negotiates as USB 1.1, plugged into my USB 2.0 hub.

1164  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSE] Block Erupter USB @ 2.10 BTC + parcel -> Shipping to anywhere! on: May 27, 2013, 07:01:18 PM
I send a payment to Friedcat to order 200 units.

https://blockchain.info/tx/507043a31a6a8a7abbecf00b76bdce3ff16b3c6aa60006a4e1825697bd6a1946

Now I will work to help the remaining buyers to complete payment and order the second batch.

Also, a suggestion to get ready address labels for shipping and possible materials for packaging/shipping. Plan to be busy soon, as once friedcat ships, the usb miners should arrive quickly. Good luck and best wishes in fulfilling orders placed in a timely fashion. Great job running the group buy for those involved.

oh, and here's a shot of the boys working away. the LED blinking on a share found (green, btw) is surprisingly unintrusive.

and a shot of BFGminer. (i've yet to get cgminer working with them. waiting on kano's new code.)

What usb hub is this one arklan was using? Is it a 2.0 hub? Will a powered 2.0 hub be adequate or should we use a powered 3.0 hub instead?
1166  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner Block Erupter USB group buy (US/Canada) on: May 27, 2013, 06:42:00 PM
So does this hub http://www.amazon.ca/Adapter-Anker%C2%AE-Uspeed-Button-included/dp/B005NGQWL2/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1369673158&sr=8-15&keywords=usb+3+hub run 10 usb miners at full power with a fan to keep them cool? What are your thoughts on this one at http://www.amazon.com/Satechi-10-Port-Port-iPad-Charging/dp/B00B9KOCYA/ref=zg_bs_281413_23 which states 5V5A?  Can 9 be safely run?  Which one would be better? Thanks for your help.

But, on second thought, looks like the first one actually might power up to 19 devices.

Assuming 100% efficiency of converting 12v to 5v.

And, that I did the math correctly to convert 12v4A to 5v9.6A.  Smiley

What math?

The monoprice has 4A@5V power supply.
The anker one has 4A@12V power supply.

What is your point?  Other than to disagree with yourself?

USB 3.0 might be a better way to go
Irrelevant.

The USB miners will (I assume) self identify as USB 2.x devices. As such, the hub, if properly designed, will limit each device to 500mA. Which isn't the problem. Aggregate power draw is the issue.

That other hub you linked has the same constraint of 4A max. Same power envelope as the first one. Seven miners max. And the form factor looks far less conducive to cooling.

The anker one should deliver ~960 mA to each USB port.

Anyway, anyone run 10+ Erupters?

Please send in order today. Unfortunately people have not paid and that happens. With new minimum order, it will be harder to collect btc from some that might "jump ship". I am in USA, have already paid for 10 (MP on payment list), and consider my order as final assuming order is placed sometime soon.Monday was given as deadline for payments. Good luck AC placing orders for those that made payments in a timely manner. I would not issue refunds as that goes against the "spirit" of the group buy. Just my 2 satoshi.

I am ready to get this order going! How long do people have to pay, once the order window is closed?

Up to next Monday.

Hurry up!
Monday is here Grin With the new minimum of 50 units at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=217104.0 It would be wise for everyone to get their payments in ASAP so we can get 300 or more units paid for. If not, it is up to A+C to decide when order is sent (obviously we are over 50 units paid for).

Also, a thank you to John K. for his quick response and escrow service as well. I have used his escrow service before and he is very efficient at what he does.

1174  Economy / Auctions / Re: [Auction] 2x Jalapenos Butterfly Labs BFL 5 GH/s miners - IN HAND on: May 27, 2013, 01:28:23 AM
Congrats - couldn't get the coins together...
Thanks. The ROI on these will take some time. Hopefully, the miner keeps working for the next year or more. Also, it will be interesting to see how BFL and other ASICs are deployed or sold in the next 4-6 months.
1175  Economy / Auctions / Re: [AUCTION] 50 ASICMINER shares (48h auction) on: May 26, 2013, 03:43:18 PM
