But I agree, supporting the network with only 0.0001 fee won't make them lose a lot  Cheesy

True, but the 100-mike (0.0001-BTC) fee will also not support the network much, nor does it cost the miner much to include the transaction.

These "huge" transactions don't take up any more resources than simple transactions of far smaller amounts.  The lion's share of the costs are borne by the sender in the form of risk as they may send to the wrong address or reveal sensitive information while creating/signing/broadcasting the transaction.

Just one 0.0001 fee won't do much, that's right.

If a block contains 1000+ transactions, the fees can add up and form a decent amount.

For example, block 333920 has 1071 transactions. Total generated fee amount is 0.17766577 BTC
11622  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: getting btc out of old btce address on: December 12, 2014, 12:37:28 AM
I have asked btce they say they cant transfere them ,Every forum and twitter,Facebook etc has said they must have backed up the addresses before changing them all in july so either btce are theives or are theives .The amount is 30 btc quite substantial are theY worse than mtgox .The forums and facebook are saying the same leave btce they are a scam if they wont transfer.

Can you show us your old BTC-E deposit address that shows 30BTC has been deposited?

That might help us to find the destination of the coins if they haven't been mixed yet.

I have had a deposit into my old btce.com btc address which they changed everyones address in july and gave them new ones .Does anyone know how I can retrieve the btc from that old address into my new address as btce say they cant transfer the btc. Thanks any advice or help welcomed.

There is a very low chance to get these coins back.

I'm not sure how long they keep old addresses before they get pruned.

I hope the amount is low. Contact them ASAP.
11628  Economy / Economics / Re: Price drop under 280$ today? hold or sell ? on: December 11, 2014, 10:35:22 PM
Hold your coins! Selling at this price is not smart.

If you can't wait a few months, then sell, but you will most likely regret that once the rocket goes up.

Patience is the key  Smiley

You should move this thread to digital goods section.

What are you asking for these domains, pm me your price if you want.
11630  Economy / Speculation / Re: Imagine the pop when Amazon finally relents... on: December 11, 2014, 02:56:29 PM
If Amazon starts accepting bitcoin, that will trigger a massive rally.  You can buy everything on Amazon.  I email Jeff Bezos twice a week and I suggest all of you do too.

For sure it will cause a surge in price, but the point is, will it last.

Currently, each time there is a good news peak it only lasts for a very short time.

At first they are happy, and then for whatever reason people seem to do a step back.
11631  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you think Bitcoin will be worth in a year? on: December 11, 2014, 01:41:28 PM
My guess is that we will see the price dance between $400 - $700 in 2015.

But what I really hope is a steady growth instead of insane peaks.

Fee: $0.00

Why someone with such giant amount to move put no tax in the transaction Huh

It kinda of makes no sense Huh

There is a difference between transaction fee and tax.
Taxes are charged only by the government, not bitcoin miners.

I'm sure he meant fee and not tax.

Mostly these huge transactions have enough priority to be sent without fee.

But I agree, supporting the network with only 0.0001 fee won't make them lose a lot  Cheesy
11634  Economy / Economics / Re: Microsoft beat Google to accepting Bitcoin! on: December 11, 2014, 12:29:58 PM
It doesn't matter if they convert BTc directly in USD.
What matter, in the long run, is they create demand for BTC because they accept BTC, so people have a reason to accept BTC or request BTC to be able to pay them.

All the boys & girls playing with an X-Box now can top their account as much as they want and can do it without needing to pass by gift cards or their parents credit card.
One step less, one level of control less.

Merchants don't have much choise other than directly converting their Bitcoins to fiat due to the volatility.

There will be a time that they prefer to keep the coins instead of converting, but that won't happen any time soon.
11635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Microsoft is now accepting Bitcoin on: December 11, 2014, 12:23:29 PM
Fantastic news!

But I wish they would enable everyone to use Bitcoin as payment form, and not only US.

It's a step in the right direction now that even Microsoft is trying Bitcoin.
11636  Economy / Auctions / Re: [Domain] BitcoinTalk.club on: December 11, 2014, 01:07:33 AM
I'll start this off with 0.01
If I win this, please send me a PM.

I'll give it 24 hours more, if not I'll give you negative trust.

What's up with the fake bidders nowadays, if you don't want to buy then DON'T bid!!

Judging by your post history you seem to have lost quite a bit by gambling.

For that reason I'm not going to give you negative trust, next time think before placing bids, and quit gambling.

+1

I will have it, if it's still going.

PM sent.

Replied and doing business  Grin

Blazing fast deal, that's how I want it.

I'll lock thread now.

11638  Economy / Gambling / Re: New Bitcoin Indegogo Should i invest on: December 10, 2014, 10:55:23 PM
Anything new that promises guaranteed income is something you should avoid.

Or perhaps... Are you advertising your own project?
11639  Other / Off-topic / Re: Hero member on: December 10, 2014, 10:46:22 PM
Congratulations, there are no benefits as in extra features, except for glowing text in your signature.

But you could earn a bit more when joining signature campaings.
11640  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think Bitcoin ATM's will become the norm? on: December 10, 2014, 10:43:48 PM
ATMs are like small gateways to exchanges. It provides an easy method to buy bitcoin. There is market now because there is no reliable exchange in every country. As more and more local exchanges are built, the market for ATMs will diminish. They could survive if their costs are slashed by a large margin, so operators can lower their fees.

They have to charge what we consider "high" fees because they obviously have to earn back their investment and make profit.

At this point regular used ATM's can generate a nice income if you have enough of them.

Are the operators willing to lower the fees eventually? I hope so.
