11621  Economy / Speculation / Re: Devastating signal: bear market, 6.4k support, 12.4 resistance on: November 18, 2019, 03:18:09 PM
I wouldn't call 6.4k devastating, really. Seeing the price teally fighting on the weekend (and failing) takes us closer to that reality, sure, but let us contend with 7.4k first, which is where we were a month ago.

6.4 would be a heck of a drop, but still over 100% more than the 2019 low, so hardly a devastating price.

Buyers setting sights there will be filling orders though. 10k as we can see is achievable in a day.
11622  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-11-18] Russian Intelligence FSB Linked to $450 Million in Missing Bitcoin on: November 18, 2019, 12:03:25 PM
Actually, I believe WEX as an entity was based in Singapore, just the operators were Russian. This isn't a rogue country case, simply the guys being shady enough as it is. I didn't follow much post BTC-e but there was a lot of shady practices by WEX themselves. They sold Bitcoin vouchers at discount too, if I recall the complaints, so people were of course gaming the system.

Very typically Yobit-ish style of running things with vouchers and redemptions, kind of like BTC-e too;)

Where does FSB fit in all this is likely less to do with the exchange and more to do with the operators. Remember they also wanted Vinnik for themselves.
11623  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +21105 units on: November 18, 2019, 10:21:25 AM
How did we not see the Bulgarian upset? Because we were too busy thinking the Serbians would lose. And they only drew so we got taken out of two legs.

Finland are unfancied against the Greeks and the home team will probably defend like hell... except they will want to try and win even with nothing to play for. Let's see anyway. And if that's not hard enough, Egypt parlay!

Game 1: Greece vs Finland. Finland WIN @4.26. Sportsbet odds: 4.22
Game 2: Comoros vs Egypt   . Egypt WIN @1.69. Sportsbet odds:  1.67
100 units parlay at Betcoin @7.1994. Sportsbet parlay: 7.0474

Odds advantage: 2.16%
Units advantage: 15.2

Edit: OK Bloody Egypt drew, they're so toothless without Salah, but I'm feeling really confident on Finland, whose odds have just jumped above 5/1 at Sportsbet (with boost), I'm going to go for a tasty parlay with Messi & co to repeat a friendly win against Uruguay:

Game 1: Greece vs Finland. Finland WIN @5.07. Betcoin odds: 4.80
Game 2: Argentina vs Uruguay. Argentina WIN @2.44. Sportsbet odds:  2.46
100 units parlay at Sportsbet @12.37[/url]. Sportsbet parlay: 11.808

Odds advantage: 4.76%
Units advantage: 56.2

Total units advantage: 71.4

Running advantage after 166 bets: +8,177.55 (+71.4)
All-time cumulative: +21,177.08
Running units after 164 bets (31W|133L): +8,186.06 (-100 units)

Good feedback everyone on -0 Asian handicap, I learn something new every day, and would never have learnt this if I never signed up for Sportsbet.io either!

Actually I looked online and I couldn't find a -0 or even +0 either, definitely more used to seeing half or quarter points in AH. One more thing to add, some bookies actually have trouble settling parlays that use AH, since bets are split!

Anyway, yeah great point is always to use best odds. It matters.
11625  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cryptotalk forum payment issue and many more on: November 17, 2019, 08:02:37 PM
I'm not doing it anyways because that forum is a spam fest. There is no way of having an actual discussion there.

And it's Yobit in case people forgot it.

I took a look finally today after seeing this forum being taken over by it. To be perfectly honest, it actually wasn't as bad as I imagined (given my own time with Yobit anyway!).

I suppose in this space, shady is almost subjective. We've got CWs who're seen as good guys, we've got outright ICO projects splashing money in the space, I suppose why not Yobit doing the same.

Not that I'm condoning it at all. But you're absolutely right. You gotta know and love the devil you want to work with;)
11626  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Coinsbee.com - Buy gift cards with about 50 crypto currencies! on: November 17, 2019, 06:02:34 PM
Hey Coinsbee, checking in after a while too. Good to see you're still available. How do you add more than 1 order of the same item? E.g. If you click on 1 item with 68 in stock, it only lets you pay for 1, so you have to make 5 separate payments for 5 orders of the same item? I can't seem to find a way to change the units.

Also, any chance you're able to fulfill custom debit card orders? E.g. not in the amount you already sell but say, 10 cards of $45 or 5 cards of 60 EUR each? Better still, custom orders of many different balances.

11627  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Main Club Partner of Watford FC ⚽ Fun. 🏀 Fast. 🎾 Fair. on: November 17, 2019, 04:08:26 PM
Generally yes, but Sportsbet today Asian handicap for Ukraine (-0) is 2.75 whereas moneyline is 3.75 (huge difference). But for under 0.5 goals it is 11.00 and for 0-0 score it is 9.40. This is on sportsbet.

That is not the same bet. I believe that Asisan handicap 0 means that you put half of your stake towards win and half towards draw, so you would get something back even if Ukraine doesn't win. Generally whole number Asian handicaps mean something more and you should check exactly what you are playing. You are safe to play .5 handicaps they work same as regular ones so less confusion there.

My understanding of Asian handicap that you're talking about is is +0.25, where half is 0 and half is +0.5, so is this what Sportsbet does with -0?

So okay, now I know -0 in Sportsbet means +0.25?

That's definitely confusing, so good thing I don't do much Asian handicap if at all!

Either way, damn Serbia. Lost my parlay cause Ukraine couldn't win but I guess all those betting on Serbia as favourites also lost!
11628  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Main Club Partner of Watford FC ⚽ Fun. 🏀 Fast. 🎾 Fair. on: November 17, 2019, 02:57:32 PM
I see this all the time, every bookie that tries to cover all the lines will have the slight odd differences.

My favorite local fiat bookie never has different odds for same outcome so it was a surprise for me as well. I often play double chance on outsider in football and recently I found out that Asian handicap 0.5 which is the same stuff gives much better odds at Sportsbet.
Example Russia today:
Double chance: 1,68
Asian 0.5: 1,77

Well no biggie I'll use Asians in the future Smiley

Generally yes, but Sportsbet today Asian handicap for Ukraine (-0) is 2.75 whereas moneyline is 3.75 (huge difference). But for under 0.5 goals it is 11.00 and for 0-0 score it is 9.40. This is on sportsbet.

Staying away from the specials today and banking on Ukraine to stamp their authority and just finish the group emphatically. The bookies are counting on them to rest key players and play experimental football though! Serbia are of course no pushovers and want to win this hoping for Portugal to slip up, so you never know!

Anyway, 1-1 at half time wasn't so bad, seems pretty even and unlucky to give away the penalty to the Serbs.
11629  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trade Bitcoin - AVOID "Get Rich Quick" Shit Coin Pump and Dump on: November 17, 2019, 01:56:41 PM
Not the only people, but yeah for sure the ones initiating the pumps are the ones who gain the most. And these guys do it for shits and giggles too, I'm sure, cause the real deals are only in Bitcoin.

Everything else, I swear almost, is just at the whim of a few people who need some money to splash around.

Sure, 2017 was a little different in the sense that a lot of greedy people took advantage but I'm pretty sure most of those people thought they were smart (the sense that all the coins they bought made profit also helped them fool themselves), and tried to speculate but ended up losing most of what they gained anyway.
11630  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Qualifying on: November 17, 2019, 12:12:04 PM
OK, I know today I said I would go for favourites as long as they're over 2/1, but I can't ignore the odds for an away win for Ukraine at almost 4/1. A lot of injuries and no real motivation to win except to maintain momentum, but anyway, I like the odds.

Should be tough enough on its own, but am I stupid to parlay it with a Czech and Iceland win? Probably. Saw the last Czech game and they were really off the mark. Moldova are pretty sorry though, and the way the tournament's turning out so far, can't see a minnow upset today.

11631  Economy / Exchanges / Re: LBC/LocalBitCoins-Can not log in on new device/laptop -Not receiving Email?? on: November 17, 2019, 11:32:01 AM
Kind of made me panic a little, cause I then tried to login to mine, also didn't get the email immediately, and then it did come in >5 mins later. I generally don't have this issue at all, since always almost on same device and even same IP.

Glad all is okay.

My burning question now is... what is this weird string of characters they tried to ask you to add to the link to make it work? Seems like a really strange workaround, I wouldn't like to know there's a way to get in by adding some strange string to my attempt =p

11632  Economy / Gambling discussion / Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +21105 units on: November 17, 2019, 10:03:43 AM
Now that was a rare two wins in a row on parlays;) But hey, we'll take what we get. Scotland absentees really upped the odds for us, and that early Cypriot goal that didn't cross the line ensured we were riding our luck all the way to the final whistle. Lewandowski didn't score but Pistol Piatek was on point, so we carried the parlay home.

Let's go for an away parlay.  One underdog today, Ukraine, and parlay with two other away favourites!
Game 1: Serbia vs Ukraine. Ukraine WIN @3.89. Betcoin odds: 3.75
Game 2: Moldova vs Iceland. Iceland WIN @1.50. Betcoin odds: 1.51
Game 3: Bulgaria vs Czech Republic. Czech WIN @1.73. Betcoin odds: @1.75
100 units parlay at Betcoin @10.09. Betcoin parlay 9.91.
Bet ID: 5dd110b43e64f4e824cf7545

Odds advantage: 1.82%
Units advantage: 18

Running advantage after 164 bets: +8,106.15 (+18)
All-time cumulative: +21,105.68
Running units after 163 bets (31W|132L): +8,286.06 (+485 units)
11633  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Qualifying on: November 17, 2019, 08:51:15 AM
@big_daddy, I'd love to hear some stories from the Balkans about football too, I grew up on other side of the world and we know what we can read, but I'm sure it's a whole different world down there in the stands!

@toma: Yep! I picked Scotland and heart in mouth when that goal didn't count. I knew Robertson and McTominay were absent but I didn't realise quite a few more missing. Cyprus probably should have had another but for poor finishing.

^

Exactly the half time win odds are often the best always offered @ 1.35 - 1.40 , and Some tempting 2.00+ odds such as Italy and Scotland hitting too, and talking about 2.00 odds I went with Belgium today as well and together with Wales on a parlay.

Yup! Which is what I took exactly, Italy the night before helped me on a huge parlay, and then almost 6/1 for Poland and Scotland. I'm probably going again for favourites with over 2/1 tonight.
11634  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Bitcoin: Chess Masters vs. Surfers on: November 16, 2019, 09:42:39 PM
Actually, guys like you make much more interesting reads than the business-formal-classy writing of some Forbes guys, all due respect.

Not quite my style, but objectively, enjoyable. I don't think there really are that many people on the cool beachside end though, or if there really is such a divide, probably a lot of greys in between, and a huge majority of people who really don't know what they're doing.

I definitely wouldn't know a thing, but then that's precisely why I don't trade (except for need and certainly not to turn profit!).

Cheers.
11635  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Get free marketing help for your project! on: November 16, 2019, 07:49:42 PM
Oh sure, you're right, business in general don't make it... but I guess I was talking more about projects online, call them personal projects if you will, where profit is the long-term aim but not even a mid-term objective. Objectives are more like small community, loyal following, something small and organic and sustainable, that could be monetised (urgh I hate the word but you know what I mean) down the line.

I agree with you, I have found crypto communities are highly engaged, but only if grown naturally. Whereas the ones who've got growth hacked, they get low quality followers.

In your experience, what's a useful budget and useful timeframe for something useful to happen? Also, I tend to agree about content, in general, but I always find marketing advise and content that is formulaic a bit offputting. Is that just me and something I should ignore? I am always at odds with team members on projects I need to market because everything that isn't natural to me feels... unnatural. And my logic tells me that's not good for the future, even if it is for the now.

Or does that simply not apply to blockchain business (maybe I should say crypto).
11636  Economy / Economics / Re: Malaysia to Limit Cash Transactions in 2020 on: November 16, 2019, 06:32:14 PM
~snip

I think the ruling is fine, and if people have an issue, well, Bitcoin.

We have here someone who is really living inside the country where this law is going to be implemented. And from this post, I guess there is no problem with this law if you are not involved in transactions that are somehow suspicious and might go under the radar of the government. Even if you will be called up by the authorities, for as long as the transaction involved is clean and legit, you will not be afraid to face them and answer all their questions.

Yup! I lived there for many years, I don't now but I still do regular transactions with Malaysia and other countries. It's almost as if every time I go to a country I continue to transact with it even after I leave. I even almost kind of pay tax in 2 different countries, even though I don't need to, but I feel like I owe it to them haha. Yeah, a tax loving global citizen =\

But anyway yeah, the law will be implemented, it won't affect anyone I know, and if it does affect you, report it, be clean, and you'll be fine.

I know and respect the rights to privacy, but this is really not about that. I get the calls all the time, other than the slight annoyances, I've been fine for 20 years now.

And if it stops being fine, I'll have Bitcoin as an alternative (and already it is beginning to take over some transactions!).
11637  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Halving Price Prediction $55,000 - $130,000 on: November 16, 2019, 05:20:12 PM
I got a bit lost to be honest after readoption and reacceleration. Probably true to some extent in past halvings but surely by now, anyone remotely interested in investment, money, bitcoin or gold, would already have known about May 2020 a long time ago. Unlike past halvings, this one is probably the most talked about, most anticipated, and most hyped.

It seems to be expectations will fail to deliver when it comes to Bitcoin price! Not to say there won't be an effect, but to me, that's come into play already.
11638  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Qualifying on: November 16, 2019, 03:57:57 PM
THIS IS BORING a lot of matches 3-0 4-0 5-0 6-0 and they are not even playing at 100% of their possibilities.

I sort of agree with you here, although I have to say I did bag a few good wins with Netherlands, and I still remember correctly backing Turkey against France.

But yeah, for a change last night I went for Italy (as I said 2/1 was hard to ignore) and then parlayed other favourites and they all won comfortably for me to get 11/1, so I have been booking solid bets, just not feeling it for the underdogs.

I'm of course sad Georgia couldn't get a win (followed them in Nations League) but seeing them play the past few games even I have to admit they don't deserve to go through.

My boring parlay tonight is Scotland and Poland. Robertson and McTominay pulling out seemed to bump up the odds (2.35 for me). Parlay is 58/10, so I guess bad news makes for not so shitty odds. Scotland struggled with Cyprus though, plenty of tackles and yellows flew in... thought the home team were going to squeeze one in, so I suppose the bookies kinda almost knew what they were doing.

Lewandowski better be on fire, be a shame to lose my parlay on Poland after the tough game at Cyprus.
11639  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Main Club Partner of Watford FC ⚽ Fun. 🏀 Fast. 🎾 Fair. on: November 16, 2019, 02:47:04 PM
@cryptofrka: Whatever happens this season, and I know I said it last season, Liverpool keeps giving me such good memories, I will never knock them for anything. But yeah this season just smells different, doesn't it?

And it'll be all the sweeter for us who put up with everything in the past haha.

I had made a topic in Gambling discussion board regarding Different odds for a same bet in sportsbet.io
I asked about the odds that have same outcomes but have different odds.
For example, Romania and Sweden will face each other tonight.
The odds for draw are 3.20 while for "Any to team to win? No" are 3.05
The odds for 0-0 are 7.40 while for under 0.5 are 8.91

I posted that here so that thread might get more attention.

This is odd, yes. I have never seen this on any of the betting sites I used to bet on before, is it on promo deals or it happens often?
Definitely something the sportsbet team should look into, I think there's a mathematical algorithm that calculates that.

DarkStar posted a response already in the original thread, and seems his explanation is plausible: all about the margins. And from my own experience, it seems to be true that people only bet with what they're used to or are comfortable with. So bookies got to add lines to all the different types of people, and they'll spread the margins across them I guess.

I see this all the time, every bookie that tries to cover all the lines will have the slight odd differences.
11640  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Different odds for a same bet on: November 16, 2019, 02:24:44 PM
The main reason is because different outcomes will often have different margins. The most popular ones (ML, Spread, O/U) usually have low margins as they are generally more accurate and have more volume, while more "exotic" bets have higher margins. The backend raw probability should be very similar if not identical between each option.

Actually, yeah, this probably makes the most sense. I know some guys from school who still bet today exactly as they bet all those years ago. Not online, but bookies taking bets. And all of it is strictly Asian handicap, no ML, no spreads! Back home we don't have legal bookies and online betting is really shady with lots of fraud. I've tried to introduce a few times crypto bookies but old habits die hard.

I'd love to hear the take from an odds provider though!
