Do you mean the market place will no longer have a browser front end? Your statement on Android only support is unexpected/unnerving and I think I am misinterpreting it.
I guess he said browers support would be only in the form of web forms. I hope Windows 10 will make the android app available for me as a windows phone user though. Any browser should be fine then. I guess... It shouldn't be too much effort to update a webform compared to an entire website as well. Though it might be better to just use the app  I don't use smart phones or any Android/IOS device for that matter. |

Actually in order to address memory out of the address range of the cpu bus a "page swap" method was used which had been used on mainframes for many years, this was called expanded memory and was in 16k chunks which was very slow. with the 286 line extended memory was introduced and the cpu had to go into extended mode in order to access it. That of course if my memory serves me. You should maybe serve your memory some fish, so that it could serve you better. Whether 1MB is ideal or not, it's what we have.
As it happens, 1MB seemed to have been at least quite fortuitous for us, and I wonder if it were not somewhat well considered when Satoshi made the setting as opposed to the perception promulgated by some that he pulled a random number out his ass.

Exactly this. Intentionally or not, 1MB turned out to be a serendipitous choice. Now it has ossified and is ready for the next layers to be built on its solid foundation. I favor Adam Backamoto's extension block proposal. The 1MB blocksize limit reminds me of the old 640k limit in DOS. Rather than destroy Window's interoperability with the rich/valuable legacy of 8088 based software, that limit was extended via various hacks sublime software engineering. Before resorting to the nuclear option of a contentious hard fork, we should attempt to achieve the desired result with soft forks. :really off topic but I so rarely can add to the discussions. How moronic! Updated my BTC client and it never deleted the old one, so I accidentally used the old shortcut that never got replaced and fragged the entire blockchain. Downloading 4 years now. You would think after all these years on a "mature platform" they could get it right, and people bitch about XMR wallet.

Yes, Sounds files. When audio plays it is too loud and there is no application specific volume control. And the language that plays is Chinese, Is there not someone who can record in English for us over here? AFA showing in the status bar, yes some buttons are there but not all button descriptions are. Mouse hover is just as easy and more of a standard. Not to mention more profesional looking. Not that the wallet is not a piece of art because it is. You are doing a great job! I did the English voice, My design is to play voice by language, Are you sure you hear the Chinese words? Maybe our code has bug, sorry. Yes I hear chinese female voice. I would recommend getting on poloniex and getting a trading pair with XMR. |

Good point, I hadn't thought of that. I would guess they will start holding at some tipping point in the emissions curve. One way to address this is to increase the efficiency of GPU mining. I've been trying to organize a bounty to this end - the only GPU miners for Monero are over a year old at this point, with no publicly available advancements. If you want to see the network hashrate increase, decrease the amount of Monero funneling to network operators, increase the amount of monero going to miners that have overhead (the ones that are more likely to hold), and subsequently drive the price up - you should contribute to this bounty. Its not like these efforts would decrease the profits of the network operators (due to the possibility of price increases) Yes, I've noticed and applaud your efforts but doubt there will be substantial gains found again. AFA donating, I have not held XMR for months, I stated when I sold and broke even and have not decided when if ever to enter again. As has been stated a few posts earlier "Not buying or selling at this timeis an option". I continue to monitor this thread as I like the coins goals and respect the Devs. I'm sure I'll buy in again but not like last time just for "Fuck you BCX" reasons. |

I think Monero at .01 in the next 12 months is possible.
I doubt it with the botnets dumping. Botnets are a 2 edged sword, One they secure the network and two they dump. I don't see why they don't hold. Even criminals want profit, they seem to be very shortsighted. But no one ever said criminals were smart. Another extremely detrimental effect they have is making competitors that actually have overhead unable to compete and therefor the network cannot grow. This should probably be addressed but I don't see how until the emissions are extremely low. But then again If the coin gets adopted and skyrockets in some (I wonder where) market then these issues should become less significant. |
