I tried to register, I think their email is getting trapped in spam box somewhere

I presume the noise is related to the amount of heat being produced within a small area.   Maybe try adding a desk fan, see if noise relates to room temp
11763  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - www.middlecoin.com on: March 20, 2014, 11:45:10 PM
Ive never been a big user but its still registering my shares, cant see any massive problem.  It was always a bit secretive in its operations, other sites will give you tiny details if you like that

Good to hear from someone who actually really needs these crypto coins to succeed, not just speculator/investor like many of us.    There are quite a few countries with capital controls, not a ton of years ago UK was one of them and in future we could see this increase again as the big dollar is over liquefied.  India has banned import of gold pretty much, basically for similar reasons as it competes with their awful rupee
11765  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BETA][EXCHANGE][REALTIME] CoinEX realtime exchange on: March 20, 2014, 11:25:11 PM
I believe they spent/spend alot of money getting licenses etc and intend to exchange to dollars at some point

If USA were to outlaw, they would be driving a global business off shore which doesnt sound especially profitable for a country centred on high finance

Im interested on checking my coinex.pw balances as I cannot remember how much I had there, I dont think much but cant we check on a disabled site.   It would help move towards restoring confidence, etc

Is the pool down for the moment
11769  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | on exchanges | PoS | No premine on: March 15, 2014, 03:48:46 PM
Whats the number of coins and blocks so far ?
11770  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Compare pools: MiddleCoin/CleverMining/HashCows/WafflePool/Hashbros on: March 11, 2014, 03:45:02 AM
no miners kills a coin, there is then no network.   That is death, too much of a good thing is a phenomena every economy must deal with.      I thought they were all getting gravity well now and that stops hopping or whatever is the problem
11771  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin on: March 11, 2014, 03:33:47 AM
Is the block reward on this coin linear, 20k always ?
11772  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HEX] Heisenberg 1.75 hrs - GIVEAWAY!!! www.cryptorush.in at launch!!! on: March 11, 2014, 03:22:30 AM
People need to stop developing with so many coins, focus on value not high numbers.   All it does is inversely drop the tradeable value below 1 sat which causes illiquidity and could kill it.   Its the same difference in value terms, it could be 2.3bil and nobody would be any poorer for it
11773  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin on: March 11, 2014, 02:55:26 AM
All coins start off as tokens, the big question is always can the block chain provide utility to people.   I think a big part is the global transaction between people that is normally more difficult and in some countries banned altogether.  Comparative advantage and all sorts of dynamics can be unlocked but also competitive destruction is always there, cryptocurrency is a shark pool
If there is use there is value
11774  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin | Block 2600 ETA 23:00 EST on: March 10, 2014, 03:36:33 AM
why multiply the answer x 400?

Vert has lower block reward so that probably corrects the difference.  20k for gpu now
11775  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin | Block 2600 ETA 23:00 EST on: March 10, 2014, 03:32:36 AM
Move to gpu.suprnova.cc people! Never had any problems with that pool, mined several coins there!

Yep thats a good one and currently shows 10% of network.   Not too small not too big, perfect for joining to equal the pools up a bit which is in everyones interest
11776  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Support Occupy Hong Kong on: March 09, 2014, 09:38:23 PM
I think Hong Kong already has enough people occupying it, most cities arent that rich so why are they asking for more :p

Just like the NYC occupy, they have no idea how lucky they are to be poor in the worlds richest country
11777  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin | Block 2600 ETA Sunday 14:00 EST on: March 09, 2014, 04:33:36 AM
why so few 1 GPUcoin per block Huh
At least two purposes...First is so there's no insta-mine right at launch... the second is if there's way too much hashing power with that low of a difficulty, there's a high probability of a fork / failed launch. Doing it this way gets the ball rolling before the big miners jump in.

and when we know it is a failure or not?

Well it's technically already a successful launch.. since pools are up, no forks, easy enough to get nodes.. difficulty is where it should be.  Just waiting to hit the rewards now...

Staggered launch is good but this is extreme to wait 2600 blocks.   Also the minor to the major reward is gigantic, 1 to 20000 right.   So this is like the launch before the launch, it is a cool idea and should have been done ages ago.
Its a rolling start, I agree it seems like it'll work 'under load'
11778  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion to help stop spamming. on: March 09, 2014, 02:34:30 AM
most forums have an ignore button but I dont see that here.   If anyone is getting alot of ignores it could put them on a short list for mods and/or to forward to the AD company, purely in self interest this system could self regulate
11779  Other / Meta / Re: Should newbies be restricted again? on: March 09, 2014, 02:14:17 AM

They would wait...

wait and do what, take part in a community reading and avoiding previous mistakes instead of endlessly going for the moneyshot.   You dream big

I can remember being a noob and it wasnt a massive deal.  The noob section is fairly well populated and frequented by 'real' forum users.    It is the most harsh deal Ive seen for new users on a forum but due to the nature of the business I understand its for the best now.
Its only a real pain for people who have no real question or threads to read on a subject new to them; mostly because they arent new at all.  Thats fine
11780  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GoldBars (GDB/GOLD) | KGW | Scrypt | Safe IPO | Rare Relaunch on: March 09, 2014, 01:14:30 AM
Totally overthinking it, mistakes are normal.   What is wrong is to load so much into the first few coins, so do what GPU coin has done which is very low reward to start.   Iron out all the usual junk and flood of spam, later on you have a normal network, normal rewards and proceed fine with your coin launch.

Why does it all have to be a rush to work in 1 minute or even 30, just start it slow and then block rewards rise.    If it was me, I'd have a launch day and people have almost 24 hours to get the wallet and mean time there are blocks and a network but its just ticking over not black friday sales and people backstabbing each other to get the latest bargain coin.
Who starts their car at 6000 revs every time they move from a standstill, ridiculous approach and a setup for 'failure' and/or exploitation
