11761  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trying to make sense of bitcoin on: July 15, 2019, 03:08:55 AM
as i always say, you can always create a better coin than bitcoin since bitcoin isn't perfect. but to do so you will have to spend a lot of time and innovate
Yeap. And if some developer actually has a good idea to improve a cryptocurrency, chances are, they might be able to implement it to Bitcoin instead of creating another new coin.

But then again, anything can happen really.

If you're here solely to earn money, you're most likely just going to waste time.

If you want to make money online, put your skills to use. Register on sites like Fiverr[1] or Upwork[2] and do some gigs.

11763  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trying to make sense of bitcoin on: July 15, 2019, 02:39:54 AM
Why can't anyone else create a coin that can be used worldwide,
But.. Bitcoin is already a coin that can be used worldwide though? Why would you create more coin unnecessarily?

why do bitcoin and altcoins have the same value all over the world?
Because open markets.

What is the benefit of a retailer or business in US letting its customers pay via bitcoin?
Visa fees suck as far as I know. Not sure how less of a fee services like BitPay has though.

How do you trade bitcoin?
Through exchanges. The best exchange to use depends on what country you're in.
11764  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Boring old bitcoin (and why you should buy some) on: July 15, 2019, 02:31:36 AM

Take a look at the date. This was a topic from last last year(2017):

This dude just unnecessarily gravedigged it for some postcount. Make sure to report it:
Today, buying Bitcoin takes very little time, but at the same time it has become very convenient to buy Bitcoin and another cryptocurrency because there are services such as Indacoin, through which you can buy Bitcoin very quickly.
11765  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When Binance bans Americans - Will the low liquidity cause flash crashes? on: July 15, 2019, 02:22:02 AM
There will be US-only version of Binance, just like there is a binance site specifically for Jersey-ers.
That's what I've heard as well, though I'm wondering when they're going to roll it out.  In any case, Binance is the only exchange I really care to use, so I'm sure I'll be happy with whatever they do as long as there's a decent selection of coins.

It's confirmed if I remember correctly, and as far as I know this should be the URL: https://www.binance.us/

Shame that the Americans are now limited to just a few coins to trade.
11766  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The true value of your mobile in Bitcoins on: July 14, 2019, 03:33:05 PM

If you have stocks and shares, that's what you have. Regardless if they sort of "tokenize" it or not. If you want to see the BTC value of it, then simply convert the value of your stocks and shares to USD, then calculate how much BTC you could potentially buy with that amount of USD.
11767  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When Binance bans Americans - Will the low liquidity cause flash crashes? on: July 14, 2019, 12:40:05 PM
So - my concern is that there will be major flash crashes in about 6 weeks time, due to the low-liquidity.
Can you expound why you think there will be a flash crash due to low liquidity? If anything, I think we will see a slight rise, as people would probably be exchanging all their coins for BTC to be able to withdraw them easily.

Also, any word on where all the Americans will go after Binance?
Haven't heard of a concrete replacement to fill the gap yet.
There will be US-only version of Binance, just like there is a binance site specifically for Jersey-ers.
11768  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fed Chairman Jerome Powell Compares Bitcoin to Gold! on: July 14, 2019, 12:04:01 PM
Though it helps very slightly, the publicity on bitcoin isn't necessarily because of Libra. As time goes and as bitcoin gets more publicity and as it gets better and better, it's grabbing more and more of the fed's attention(assuming they aren't watching it like a hawk ever since).

Feels refreshing to actually see a chairman even slightly understand what bitcoin is and what it's for though.
11769  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The true value of your mobile in Bitcoins on: July 14, 2019, 11:40:09 AM
What? If you have 0 bitcoin in your wallet, then you have $0 worth of bitcoin; regardless how "good" your social media accounts are. Simple as that. I don't get what you're trying to say.
11770  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which bitcoin wallet would you advice me to have ? on: July 13, 2019, 05:40:55 PM
Thanks for your wonderful response, is really interesting. can you elaborate my mind more on hàrdware wallet. Nevertheless,  is there any specific hardware wallet you would recommend or hardware wallet is just one and how do I identify the original one if probably there are options.

Grab either a Trezor[1] or a Ledger Nano[2]. Remember to buy it from their official websites, not on Amazon, eBay, etc.

But of course, first do some reading:

11771  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I don't know Bitcoin is, I just know It is taking away the lives of family on: July 13, 2019, 03:10:41 AM
you are fishy as hell as only low supply coins only grow the projects with billions of coins are all of them scams and the founders hold the biggest wallets,
I'm fishy because I said that speculating or "investing" in cryptocurrencies in OP's situation is the worst idea ever? Sure. Because low cap coins are guaranteed to succeed due to the sole reason that they're low cap, right?

people should be aware people like you, and you remind me few guys which found me on the web and asked where to invest and they almost invest in xrp, while i said to them get inside ethereum because supply is low this was when ethereum was around 2-5 usd.
Sure. Because I'm automatically an XRP shill because I disagreed with your suggestion.

dick head
Yes I am! Thanks!
11772  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I don't know Bitcoin is, I just know It is taking away the lives of family on: July 13, 2019, 02:34:11 AM
you must get out of your country and get to other country with normal salaries AND SAVE  then to invest in great coin with low supply

If there's a right time for OP to invest in some "great coin with low supply", it's definitely not right now LOL. They just got greatly negatively effected by their brother's gambling problem and you're going to suggest OP to gamble with altcoins?

Anyway, assuming this is true(which I hope not, as it sounds very depressing), best of luck to you and your family. It might be hard right now, but it's not the end.
11773  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Local bitcoin tier verification issue! on: July 12, 2019, 04:37:07 PM
This can take time depending on how much people they're verifying. With another exchanges(I really don't remember which one specifically as this was years ago), I've experienced even longer than 2 weeks. I just messaged them, and it somehow probably caused them to prioritize mine. Though of course, it's going to differ from exchange to exchange.

I suggest waiting a few more days, and contact them if you get too impatient. Tongue
11774  Economy / Speculation / Re: Question of the day: What is your price prediction for bitcoin ? on: July 12, 2019, 03:24:33 PM
I predict Bitcoin to be $1,000,000 in August.

Exactly. Pointless, right? Because there's no way for me to guess the future price; and worse, I didn't even state any reason why I think that. Just like 99% of any other price prediction, ever.
11775  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The Fight between Litecoin and bitcoincash on: July 12, 2019, 03:16:23 PM
i also have this in mind. i believed that litecoin have more future than bitcoin cash. the continue forking of bitcoin to produce bitcoin cash and the rest reduces the potential aspects of bitcoin cash. there is every possibility that we will see another fork taking place.

With bitcoin having a decentralized consensus model, forks will happen whether you like it or not. With a leaderless project, disagreements and variations in ideas is inevitable; hence why we have forks right now.

Oh, and also, litecoin is also a fork. It has no future either.
11776  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BITCOINS BITCOINS BITCOINS!! on: July 12, 2019, 10:28:34 AM
You can literally trade almost every single decent coin/token in the cryptocurrency markets if you know how to do the trading, which is the difficult part.

If you're really new here and are willing to learn, I don't suggest that you go straight to trading. Read this: https://coindesk.com/information
11777  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anthony Pompliano and Peter Schiff to Debate over Bitcoin and Gold on: July 12, 2019, 10:26:58 AM
This will be a great debate and I will be keeping an eye on it. Gold lovers will never ever change their views , as they think that s the best ever investments .

While a lot of gold bugs are definitely too biased to take interest in bitcoin, not at all. I'd say a good number of big names in the cryptocurrency space were previously gold bugs. A good example would be Saifedean Ammous(author of The Bitcoin Standard[1]), whereas though he prefers bitcoin over gold, he still likes gold simply due to it's market stability.

11778  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Creating more bitcoin on: July 12, 2019, 10:24:50 AM
wasn't this mainly FUD? a tweet talking about ifs and buts is barely evidence of someone wanting and pushing for more supply.
bottom line is that all the arguments about supply belongs to year 2100+ and we are talking about something that is not going to be an issue for at least 80 years and that is IF it becomes an issue!

While there definitely are some articles that over-exaggerate what he said(media being media, as usual), he really said something about him wanting to increase the 21 million hard limit as I remember seeing his tweet some time ago. I just couldn't remember the exact statement. Again, I'll try to look for it.
11779  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to do a backup from Nano X to Nano S and what is the purpose of this? on: July 12, 2019, 10:09:49 AM
being able to restore immediately to an S is a lot safer than restoring to a software wallet and is a lot more convenient  than waiting for delivery of another wallet.

This. A secondary Ledger device is just so you have a backup device where you can enter your recovery phrase safely by entering the words on the Nano S itself(not using a keyboard), whereas if you enter your recovery phrase on a mobile/desktop wallet, your recovery phrase can potentially be exposed to a hacker/s.
11780  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Creating more bitcoin on: July 12, 2019, 04:29:19 AM
nobody wants unlimited bitcoin supply and i have not seen any core developers saying they want it either!

Unfortunately, someone wants it. Peter Todd(not sure if he still is a Bitcoin Core dev).  Undecided I mean, his intentions are good and I get it, it's for bitcoin to remain secure, but I still don't agree with it.

There are a few articles about this, but I couldn't find Peter Todd's exact Tweet/statement. Might edit this reply if I find it.
