1182  Other / Off-topic / Re: What's your way of spreading Bitcoin knowledge? on: October 11, 2017, 11:16:47 PM
Personally, if I'm in a coffee shop or any store with some people, I pull out my wallet and subtly show them my Xapo debit card. Then they get curious on what kind of card is that since it doesnt look like the usual Mastercard or creditcard. Then I explain it from there on.

What's your way of spreading Bitcoin knowledge? Smiley
I was introduced to bitcoin by my friend by seeing my friend change in financial matters, keep asking me money from where and he say from botcoin, then start to wonder about bitcoin.
Maybe that way I will do to introduce bitcoin to others is by showing the results and give them

This is right, showing your yielded result is much easier than telling them that you will get this and that if yu do this. That is why now i am focusing hard on this so i can somehow help other people.

1185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Impossible to join DeepOnion airdrops? on: October 11, 2017, 09:55:00 AM
I got blacklisted in this deep onion program. Good thing i decided to join a campaign instead of waiting for my account to be whitelisted because its been two weeks since the assigned member to unblock became active.
1186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Why you should be very careful before using HitBtc exchange on: October 11, 2017, 09:50:26 AM
Before I withdraw a large amount of Aeon coins, I tested 1 Aeon coin. No withdrawal problem at all. When I withdraw a large amount Aeon coins, it was in pending status over 5 days. In other words, HitBtc don't allow big amount of withdrawal no matter it's their system issue or people's issue. If it is system issue, why this system has withdrawal limitation? If the system has limitation, changing the limitation setting is simple. I couldn't understand what kind of problems hitbtc engineers need a few days to work on? It is what it is. The core of the technical design is the wallet, if the wallet has no problem it's very hard to have problem because exchange deposit/withdrawal dashboard just act as a interface only (The one Aeon coin successful withdrawal test is the evidence the interface between exchange to the wallet has no problem). The same wallet released by Aeon Dev has been used by Bittrex exchange without any deposit/withdrawal problems at all. So it's not hard to doubt either HitBtc is hiding somethings or HitBtc engineers are unprofessional. No matter which way, HitBtc is not professional at all.

I have been waiting over 5 days without any solutions from HitBtc, and I lost a lot of coin value which is over 5-6 bitcoins already due to price drop.

I am not the only case, there are lots of complaints on hitbtc services. See below webpage link.

https://forum.hitbtc.com/categories/support

Are you sure about this? How is your withdrawal now? I am planning to withdraw huge amount if it is really a bug then this is a good read
1187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Experiences with CoinsMarkets.com? on: October 11, 2017, 09:24:28 AM
You can stake your coins there but beware of withdrawing Bitcoins it has a very high fee of 0.002 almost 10 USD, the UI and site response is a little slow so if your trading with a good volume i suggest to keep out of it.

I agree the site is a little outdated. Why dont they update their website.

1195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: All airdrops are ponzi schemes? on: October 09, 2017, 11:20:45 PM
Airdrop no relation with scam. In fact, airdrop means we accept. We don't invest anything in it, meaning absolutely no money we throw at them. Airdrop is an including marketing strategy for me.

Well there airdrop as instrument is no scam, I agree with you! ( That is what this thread learned me). The question is can it be abused for scam?

As long as your coins are on a wallet or address of yours and you don't invest additional money they can't scam you.

But if they ask you to install some wallet of theirs for staking or some other reasons you should be careful. This software could be the scam and infect you computer.

Thank you for the tip! Much appreciated!

This is what i was also thinking. Do antivirus detect such programs? I have a software downloaded lately for staking an airdrop coin. I run at first to receive the airdrop and then moved it in a Virtual Machine to lock access to my resources. I should've run it solely at virtual machine.
1196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin on Uber on: October 09, 2017, 11:17:39 PM
Meanwhile, bitcoin just got integrated with Uber for tipping drivers. Isn't that a good news?

https://twitter.com/Melt_Dem/status/895466611477544960
That's nice.  It'll be a great way to introduce bitcoin, more, in the Philippines. Specially nowadays that uber is in demand, many Filipinos choose to take uber rather than taking mrt/lrt/jeepneys/buses because this is more efficient than others. It will also be a good news to those people who has bitcoin, because they can now use it in commuting thru riding in uber.

Thats great news! That gives bitcoin marketing a plus! So now i will buy more bitcoin haha
1197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Experiences with CoinsMarkets.com? on: October 09, 2017, 11:14:13 PM
I was referred to check out coinsmarket by some members on the Embercoin discord chat. It is an awesome site. I plan on staking a few coins. Since my computer has been running slowly and I have to share with my flatmates, it will be extremely helpful. Cheers, coinsmarket, I am glad you guys are back.

How much do you earn from staking? I like the idea that you can actually stake from an exchange. How many more exchange do this? Do you know some more?

Till now, I didn't hear about the exchange how it works because even I open the website in google but it is not opening at all.
How the website will work and how can we stake the coins in this exchange.

I saw somewhere here that the exchange is moving or migrating so a far more better server. This maybe is the reason for this. I think it will be back again just some more days.
1198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Stolen ETH from myetherwallet.com on: October 09, 2017, 11:11:55 PM
I also got hacked as well. Should I create another Ether address and send my other coins there. I lost 2457 eBTC coins. The address was 0x4d517d272ce8d879d8891518e70153b49d2cdb96 that hacked me.

Yes if that address has been compromised already it is best of you create another one.
