Haha! I don't mind much to be honest. Coronavirus and lockdown brought us together after long time. This may be first time in several years that we both are enjoying something together, who knew a poker game would bring us together. I don't remember when we sat together after 11PM last time.

He started sitting with me from the 7th game of the series and everytime I finished in top 10. Before that, I failed to make to top 10 even once. We have a variation of Poker in India (known as teen patti) and it has different set of rules. He keeps suggesting me to call/fold/raise on the basis of teen patti's rule and God knows how but suggestions work sometimes. Cheesy

Well on serious note, I would really like to thank everyone who made this series possible. It surely gave me moments to remember for rest of my life especially the ones with my father.  Smiley

This is such a beautiful post. I would give more merit, if I had Smiley

You busted me with a rivered flush, which was of course annoying, and that made you overwhelming chipleader with like 27k+ chips iirc. But reading this now, really makes me happy, because I can imagine the joy your father felt, when you won that pot. So this was definitely worth it for me in hindsight.

tyKiwanuka with a decent chip lead for now.

You jinxed that one perfectly Grin

i'm out now (10th place - my best one on the 1st whole tournament)

You had a lot of pocket pairs from what I observed, but couldn't get anything going with them Wink

For being one of the worst players in the field, I did quite okay today, even won a hand with AJ to my surprise Cheesy Looks like the river and me will not become friends in this life no more.

Late registration: 6 Levels
Can you explain it please. Last time we had was 55 minutes but what are these levels and how long are these levels?

A level is a timeframe, where the small and big blind are fixed at a certain amount, f.e. 10/20. The level time is set by the Operator or with our private tournament we can set it ourselves per request (it was lowered from 12 minutes to 10 minutes during the first series). Once the level time is over, the next level starts and SB and BB are fixed again for some time, f.e. 15/30. Then 20/40, 25/50 etc.

In our tournament series the blind levels are set to 10 minutes as you can see above:

Blind levels: 10 Minutes

So 6 levels of late registration means 6*10 minutes = 60 minutes. Starting level 7 (SB/BB = 50/100) no more registrations are possible and Ante will start. Ante is a small fee every player has to put into the pot pre-flop, regardless of that player being involved in the action or not.

I agree with you but I don't understand how he could scam people...
Do you think he knows these players personally and he fixes the matchs?
Do you think he is a bookmaker and he owns a betting platform?

Yohann/Sportify/TT_Guru is basically not scamming people with his "tipster services", because he is not asking about money upfront. What he is trying to do here with multiple accounts, is still fishy, shady, misleading or whatever you want to call it - and it's highly unprofitable to follow his bets. He has proven to be a losing player with dishonest behaviour.

He did scam one of the forums users by not paying a promised refund though: YohannHermann owes $51usd from money back guarantee offers and refuses to pay

I doubt he knows any of these players in person and these matches are not fixed too. Well, they might still be fixed, but Yohann doesn't know in which direction, so it's just wild guesses, hoping to be on the right side and fooling people with a good run.

He isn't a bookmaker nor does he own a betting platform and if he did, I surely wouldn't place my bets there. What is possible otoh, is him publishing these bets here, to get better odds on the opponent and/or producing his own surebets via this method.

So he bets on Player A for 2.10, then comes here and recommends to bet on Player A, claiming this is a fixed match. If lots of people bite, odds for Player B would go up - maybe to 2.10 too - and he has a surebet of 5%.
If he actually wanted to take a punt on Player B, but wants higher odds, he just recommends Player A here as fixed outcome and would place a bet on Player B once the odds have gone up.

Congratulations to @Iv4n, @ceehe and @SyGambler, well done Smiley

I guess you will have nightmares about going all-in against ceehe and trying to eliminate him @SyGambler.

Everyone who made it to the Grand Finale tonight is a winner; the losers, like me, still have some work to do and can show their non-skills tomorrow.

Thanks to @efialtis and @yahoo62278 for organizing this event and taking care of things.

(...), I'm not an expert but according to what I have read most QBs have problems adapting to the Bruce Arians offense and they keep throwing interceptions on their first year but that number will begin to go down as they learn more about it, (...)

These stats from Carson Palmer definitely support that assumption:

Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carson_Palmer

Palmer, just like Winston, was quite erratic too, while being a bit more accurate. Will be interesting to see how Brady will do under Arians. I would think that Arians will take a more cautious offensive approach with Brady and not just put his system over Brady. Brady played quite some dink and dunk with the Patriots and I guess they will meet somewhere in the middle for the start.

E-sports tipsters on the rise you think?

They are definitely in the spotlight right now, because this is the only sport still running like it used to run some weeks ago - while being a sport that people bet on regularly even with everything else taking place too. Nobody bets basketball or football from Tajikistan in normal times^^

I am not sure though, if E-sports tipsters are on the rise in regards to profit. I would expect the bookmakers/odds compilers to put more effort and manpower into E-Sports now, because this is one of their main businesses at the moment and probably will be for quite some time. And you might have some people that even stay around with E-Sports betting in the future - because they like it or made some money with it - so the bookmakers better up their game a bit, i.e. fine-tune their algorithms Wink
1188  Other / Archival / Re: Let's talk Texas Holdem poker hands and how to play like a PRO? on: May 02, 2020, 07:12:16 PM
The problem with AA is: In your mind you expect to win that hand 100% Grin In reality you have around 80% against any hand, so you will win 4/5 hands on average. When you get dealt AA, this is a must-win hand in your mind and that puts some pressure on yourself to get everything right. If you win that hand, all good, you played it "perfectly". If you lose that hand, you feel like a complete failure. Mentally this can be really tough, because you can only lose with AA, there is nothing to win in that regard.

I even tend to overbet AA, because I don't want to go into that mental downwards spirale (read:tilt) by losing with AA. Not going on tilt sometimes is worth more than winning X additional chips with a hand. I know that this is not the correct/value approach, but I am no pro and in Poker I don't thrive for perfection.

Another issue with AA is the devilish selective perception Wink

1189  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: IOTA: Snake oil insecurity with a centralized kill switch to shut off your money on: May 02, 2020, 09:42:36 AM
Tl;dr version?

Hehe, hard to give Grin It's a conversation from November 2019 until February 2020. It covers IOTA Foundation internal things like nepotism, political agendas, power abuse, monthly costs. You have hints about shady things with token reclaims, clean addresses, lots of money (IOTA tokens) changing hands. Discussions about the IOTA protocal in general and how companies/partners are more and more disappointed with non-results from IF. You can read how David wants/wanted to push his private companies; what role JINN plays in this whole construct. And last but not least two friends splitting up, where one (David) comes over as mature, while the other (CfB) acts like a child.

It's really an interesting read overall, because it gives an insight what happens behind the curtains of a crypto project. And I guess this does not only happen inside IOTA, but with lots of crypto projects - and in "real life" companies & politics.
1190  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: IOTA: Snake oil insecurity with a centralized kill switch to shut off your money on: May 02, 2020, 09:21:12 AM
There are more and more voices wanting David Sønstebø to resign from IOTA Foundation. The driving force behind this is his ex-bff Sergey Ivancheglo aka Come-from-Beyond, who is butthurt about the IOTA protocol going in a different direction than he initially planned (mainly the binary vs trinary aspect).

Couple of weeks ago CfB already leaked a conversation between the two, which gives some interesting insight and additional information between the lines: What really happened before David Sonstebo and CFB parting ways (chat log)

In the Paracosm Discord a list popped up recently, which features an overview of "Potentially illegal or unethical behavior of the IOTA Foundation": https://www.notion.so/Potentially-illegal-or-unethical-behavior-of-the-IOTA-Foundation-83df131d43374a32be33ab15b38abdf8

Additional information:

JINN is a ternary processor. JINN needs IOTA, that is why IOTA was built. JINN labs was founded by David, CfB and an unknown third guy. JINN is said to be dead now, investors lost their money. Announcement JINN

Paracosm is a VR/AR gaming company from CfB. He has a gaming background and the purpose of building IOTA was to make his VR/AR vision become reality.

IoTIFY is part of Ternary GmbH, which is a company from David, registered in Switzerland, where an Indian guy is CEO.

I still see no problem in resuming play with proper testing,
What about teams, just like cologne that have players infected by the virus, I know the players can be replaced, but it will obviously reduce the teams full strength, and this players will not perform to the best of their ability when they know their fellow teammates are battling for their lives with the virus.

You should put the full quote then, to not put it out of context Wink Because later I wrote:

So you will have some chaos and at some point this is unmanageable anymore schedule-wise and some teams have unfair advantage/disadvantage.

I see no problem health-wise with Bundesliga starting again. People get infected all over the place with this virus - these Cologne players, or at least one of them, got it outside of football as well. Playing football is their job and other people start working again as well. I give you, that football players can't protect themselves properly on the pitch, but otoh these are all young people with no underlying conditions, where the risk of severe cases is small. And they get tested frequently; not like average Joe, who only gets tested if showing symptoms.

I didn't hear any Bundesliga player saying "I am too scared to play", so they are fine with taking this additional small risk too, which really is an important aspect imo. You can't force players to play under these conditions, if they don't want to.

Non-health-wise there is of course a problem, if a player gets infected. I doubt there will be no incidents during these 9 rounds remaining. And this will cause chaos with the schedule and the things you and I mentioned fair-play wise.

1192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: May 01, 2020, 07:40:38 PM
I guess those plans just got a setback, because three players of Cologne tested positive now, while being asymptomatic.

This will of course play in the hands of those people that are against restarting the Bundesliga and make the governments and authorities think twice. I still see no problem in resuming play with proper testing, but I more and more fear an abrupt ending anyway, since I doubt there will be no additional cases during these 9 rounds left to be played. So you will have some chaos and at some point this is unmanageable anymore schedule-wise and some teams have unfair advantage/disadvantage.

In the end, standings as of now will probably be the result of 2019/2020 season.

There really must be loads of untested people carrying this virus without knowing.......

So, earler today Joe Biden finally addressed the sexual assault accusation:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/joe-biden-denies-he-sexually-assaulted-a-former-senate-aide/2020/05/01/08d59662-8b39-11ea-9dfd-990f9dcc71fc_story.html

Now, I just noticed that the Democratic Nominee odds, specifically Cliton's, have gone from @11 odds to @10.00 in some bookies. sportsbet(.)au have Clinton @11.00, IIRC yesterday it was @15.00...Thoughts?

Well, Biden is under quite some pressure now and the Republicans/Trump haven't even started to fire yet Smiley Let's see, if they will do, because Trump has his own history of sexual allegations.
If not before already, this should be the point where it finally dawns on the Democrats, that they won't take over the White House with him as nominee. I expect the Republicans to be all over these accusations (at a later point) and the way Biden addressed this issue today was really pathetic and didn't give the impression of him being innocent.

Hillary's odds going down is then just the people speculating who would be the most likely nominee, if not Biden. If that would be Hillary ? I don't know, but certain people seem to like that option.

The markets are pretty interesting to watch during these times. You would normally think that these accusations against Biden would make Trumps odds go south, but no, they are stable. The markets know, that Biden has little chances against Trump, but otoh they also know, that any other nominee than Biden has very good chances to beat Trump. These diametral movements offset for the time being. Really curious to see how the markets would look like, if Biden stepped down from his presidential run.
1194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: May 01, 2020, 10:20:56 AM
i do not see this as something that is viable for any team to do, you know you will easily recognize whose fans are they, Bayern or 1860 or Augsburg in fact, (..)

Hmm, so when you see a person, who by ID resides in Munich and wears a Bayern jersey, you can tell that this person is in fact 1860 or Augsburg fan ? I couldn't and I doubt police officers could do.

There were matches in the past, where away fans weren't allowed. This was checked by postal code on the ID. If Bayern was to play in Bochum and no Bayern fans were allowed, then of course a Bayern fan living in Bochum could enter the stadium - but not in the away block and not with Bayern merch. A Bochum fan living in Munich and travelling to that game, could enter, but only as season ticket holder of Bochum.

First off I'll repost the videos of the Bitsointalk poker series here.

Thanks, I was waiting for that one video from April 18th Cheesy We already talked a bit about that one hand in the chat:

https://youtu.be/E1JzpZtnDaM?t=2243

I had you on pocket pair JJ or a bit worse, but not TT, or the hand you were actually holding (AK). I "knew" you weren't that strong, so I could make you fold on the river. By trying to outsmart you, you actually outsmarted me, because I wasn't thinking it through till the end.

As said in the chat, I was expecting a river bet from you, where I then would have re-raised all-in. What I missed is that you were very unlikely to make a river bet with what I put you on. JJ would have probably done a small river bet, but all other hands just check behind with this board.

AJ is really a nightmare to me. Often times I just throw it away pre-flop - even on the button or SB - because I am traumatized with it.

1196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: May 01, 2020, 09:03:03 AM
A problem with the ghost games can be that if there is a crowd of fans in front of the stadium, maybe the game cannot take place then and it could be scored 2-0 for the opposing team.

I can see the following scenario and why such a rule is not feasible:

Bayern needs at least a draw in last round for the Championship. They have a home game. 500 supporters from their city rival 1860 dress up as Bayern fans and build such a crowd in front of Allianz Arena. There is no way to tell, if they are indeed Bayern fans or not, because their ID's will show them as Munich/Bavarian residents. Bayern will lose 0-2 and not get crowned champion.

This can of course happen in a lot of other cities/areas too.

But there is one major problem in adding skill-based games like Chess on gambling platform, i.e. internet connection. In games like Poker, even if one player disconnects due to internet issue, he will be shown inactive and turn will be shifted to next player. But in case of games like Chess, you can't shift turn to next player without making any move. One solution for that could be to declare one player loser if he doesn't reconnects after certain time but you know people, they will blame SportsBet even if their own internet is shitty. I can't imagine how many refund claiming emails SportsBet start receiving after implementing wagering on such skill-based games.

There is one even more major problem Cheesy And that is people using chess computers to play the game. You can't control this and that is why it won't work.

On top of that, there isn't a lot of chess players nowadays (I do play from time to time) and thus it's probably not worth the effort and hassle for Sportsbet.

any idea if table tennis games volume before the pause was the same as it's today ? cause if there were fewer games in the past that may explain a little why they are showing up now , but if volume was the same in the past then it's fishy

Hehe, I think there was always the same volume in terms of matches played, it just wasn't bet-able, because the bookmakers didn't bother to put up odds for table tennis matches in Armenia before Corona - not worth the effort with only few people betting it, when football etc is on. Now during this crisis, they are going crazy with table tennis and I guess they are able to have good turnover with it. Have a look at todays schedule:

https://www.flashscore.com/table-tennis/

623 matches listed and you can bet on all of them, 24 hours a day. There are probably some cracks, who feel like in paradise now, because they can finally bet on table tennis matches they always wanted to bet on. Then a few, who maybe found some new niche. But the majority is just bored and happy to have anything to bet on. They are hoping for a good run - maybe even having multiple blogs and one of them is successful - and then start a paid service.
