1181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ASR] ASTROCOIN, WE NEED MINERS! MAX SUPPLY 140,000. COINEDUP.COM on: January 28, 2014, 09:41:50 PM
Really, thats your retort? more baseless accusations? FYI, i updated to the latest source as soon as i knew about it. now i'm asking the question that needs to be asked. you instead of answering attempt to shift the focus onto me, which is the retort of children and immature adults.

and fyi, the genesis hash being wrong in the checkpoint file is a major problem, for obvious reasons. this is why your coin is forked, but by all means continue to tell me why i'm wrong and you're right.
just take astrocoin off your exchange and leave the astrocoin community if you think its a scam, nobody asked you to stay here
hes probably trying to get the price low so he can buy more since he couldnt steal enough coins...idk

Actually its because the coins were stolen, and i need to find out why, but nice attempt to switch the focus off the obvious scam dev team, which has been called out repeatedly.

once again, i'll post these transactions which should not be accepted by the client but are. why they are valid is anyones guess at this point.

http://pastebin.com/rtTTZ33p

using these transactions, the attacker was able to drain the ASR wallet on our site. its unclear how they were able to make these transactions appear valid. possibly a spam attack on our node with the illicit transactions? Again, i'm here asking for help, no reason to be butthurt.

1182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reward .5 btc for the return of 11 bitcoins stolen from openex on: January 28, 2014, 09:37:09 PM
Nice try haha 4,000 out of your own pocket and still haven't covered the balances that's laughable. Are you trying to make yourself look stupid? I am going to take a shot in the dark and just double that number. So what your telling us is OpenEx has lost over $8,000 + usd in Coins in under a month, 4,000 usd you covered out of pocket?
That could easily be 24,000 usd in losses in your first quarter.

Ask yourselves who would continue to operate their business at that kind of loss for no reason? Why would they habitually risk the public and their own money? There is no logical reason at this point to keep the doors open to the public. They could easily close doors and continue development and testing until most of the major problems have been worked out. Like i said before hes reckless and sloppy and it doesn't take a genus to figure this Scam Out. Do not let him play stupid anymore.

Also what does your little screen scam shots prove ? Absolutely nothing, Just keep trying cling to the sides of the toilet while your swirling down the hole..

You guys haven't figured out by now hes skimming coins? Even the most incompetent amateurs don't make these kinds of mistakes.
Who releases a site like this a second time without a closed beta and extensive testing? Best Con i have seen in awhile.
The guys been skimming coins since day one blaming it on Devs, bad code and hackers. You people need to wake up.

attacker used ssh to gain access and steal btc wallet. i discovered this while trouble shooting a customer who had not received his deposit even though it showed pending. then i discovered our btc wallet was drained, all the accounts gone and the wallet.dat missing

i am offering 400 bucks for the attacker to return the money to me privately via pm, or for anyone who can catch the attacker and bring him to justice.

here is the log
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5V5vln-sS3ERUh2dm1jdThnN1k/edit?usp=sharing

Edit: If you lost bitcoins, i am sorry. kindly post the amount as well as your address below and i will repay them asap. i obviously don' t have the money but i have every intention to pay for it when i do. again, i'm sorry.
use ssh keys or completely shut down the ssh server. unless you dont use ssh keys any one with little knowledge can login. %75 of the world servers are hackable. You can make mistakes but time to get lessons!

once again, you are lying. i haven't skimmed a single coin and thats the honest to God truth. there really was a hack, as evidenced by the ssh logs clearly showing bruteforcing on the server. then there was the duplicate balance issue. i've paid close to 4,000 dollars out of my own pocket, and still haven't covered all of the balances. you can take your foot out of your lying ass mouth now. its one thing to call me on shit i actually did but to make shit up off of your head like your so certain is just hilarious. you're full of shit and you show your own ignorance by the minute.

mayhbe if you would read the development thread you would be less uninformed(we do plan on closing doors to the public, the problem is they won't withdraw their coins). you can continue to spread your fud, i give about 1 iota about what you say, and that iota i give is only to prove you wrong, which i have done and will continue to do as necessary. have a great day, "Doctor Nobody".

What the heck is going on over at openex.pw?Huh

Astrocoin is gone off the market and so are my coins. What is this all about?

CoinKing, please contact them directly. They announced on twitter that they were removing ASR market because they refused to update to our new source code which fixed synchronizing problems. I'd suggest you that you demand your coins from them ASAP, they are running off with a lot of coins. In the future, I'd suggest you use http://coinedup.com/
The truth is, you've altered the genesis hash, making the chain invalid and no one should trust this coin we have cautiously reopened the market, but are encouraging users to cancel their buy orders for obvious reasons. this coin is basically a scam.

Can somebody please explain wtf this means?

nvm. i misspoke. if i am reading everything correctly, the dev's were patching a vulnerability that allowed an attacker to create coins out of thin air.

an example of such coin creation happened at openex unfortunately. the following is forged transactions by a single openex user, who i was very suspicious of, but according to the client all the transaction ids were valid.

http://pastebin.com/rtTTZ33p

this is all a bit bizarre really.its true that changing the genesis hash alters the chain history, removing trust of the previous chain, but as for what that means, its up to the community really. The strict cryptoanarchists will consider this coin tainted, the devs and their sock puppet army will say its fud, and the blind masses will eventually be swayed one way or another.

For proof/reference showing they have altered the genesis hash:

https://github.com/astrocoin-project/astrocoin/commit/c13aaec998cdcf9e06e277417180954e0dd2f1bc

ps: the real question is what was this vulnerability there for in the first place?

Any idea how many were created?

i have no idea. it could just be that there are multiple forks. i make an inquiry about it on twitter, but they ignore the questions. I give two shits about ASR or this dev team. what i do care about though, is my customers who would be investing their BTC into this coin. I cannot allow them to be swindled. That's why i'm here, it is only concern for the customers.

The only thing that has been altered is added checkpoints & removal of UPNP due to issues with wallet syncing with the network because it was confusing with Litecoin nodes. We don't care about your lousy exchange with no substantial volume and we demand that you return all users who have lost coins on your exchange a refund. We're tired of hearing all the complaints regarding this issue. There are several websites including an exchange, a dice site, and multiple pools that have no trouble at all. It's time for you to stop the trolling and to update the source code to our latest release or just close the market. Don't say one day your closing the market and then another day that you're opening the market up again. Stop flip flopping.

Um, i just posted your last commit, which obviously shows the genesis hash being manipulated. care to comment on that?

Code:

r3wt, STOP POSTING THIS COIN IS A SCAM WITH NO PROOF, YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE SAYING.
they had to change the source code at some point because of issues, the coin is not a scam, their has just been issues with the launch like every other coin
r3wt keeps saying this because his exchange is crap and is "losing" everybodys coins somehow...
i posted the proof below. argue with that. unlike you, i've been around here long enough and am familiar enough with the codebase to know that something isn't right about this coin.

there is no question that this coin is a scam. the only question is who all is in on it?

Oh, and one more thing about the hack(the subject of this thread before it went into the period drama), i actually filed a complaint with the ic3 while i was still reeling over the missing 11 btc(that i was responsible for mind you). so before you try to claim again i'm lying, i actually have the ic3 report saved in my email, forgot all about it.

You think people are going to believe you did nothing more than - Quote: tiny, pointless stupid scams. ? Those are Just the tip of the iceberg.

He who permits himself to tell a lie once, finds it much easier to do it a second and third time, till at length it becomes habitual; he tells lies without attending to it, and truths without the world's believing him. This falsehood of the tongue leads to that of the heart, and in time depraves all its good dispositions.

THOMAS JEFFERSON, Aug. 19, 1785

i have a new reply for you in the other thread. tell me what i did to you, if its true i will admit it. you're either lying or i forgot. been a long time since i scammed anybody, and when i did they were tiny, pointless stupid scams. i won't deny it, never have.

Lol this guy ... Are you really going to poke fun at some one you scammed? No guess again.

You must be joking? Are you on drugs?  Quote: pretty certain. i've either forgotten or you're lying. >> You should be 100% certain.  You are a real piece of work.

Keep digging that hole.. Ohh and dont worry I will come clean when I have hard proof I can disclose .

Your going to slip up moving the coins around. You have already proven to be sloppy and reckless wont be long Now.

JUST KNOW WE ARE CLOSELY OBSERVING THE SITUATION.

Enough of your lies. Call the wambulance so self absolved.  No one is trying to discredit you. You did that to your self along time ago.
Your trolls as you call them are trying to warn innocent traders who aren't privy to your elaborate Scams and lies.

Anyone using OpenEx.pw exchange is a either a Moron or has not done their research. R3wt has been skimming Coins from day one off of OpenEX
exchange under the guise Of faulty code or Haxorz. One simple search of  R3wt + scam should be enough for people to stay away!
R3wt is a Scammer, Extortionist and Thief and should have been banned along time ago.

Hes not alone either I can guarantee all those lackeys working for him are being payed to keep their mouths shut.
I am 100% sure that once his OpenEx.pw builds more users and volume there will be a fake Hax where all users coin will be lost and he will be gone.
There will be nothing you can do about it OpenEx is unregistered and illegal.  Hes Done it before and he will do it again I promise you people Stay Away .....

You have been warned

you're a liar. i haven't skimmed a single coin. go back to pumping Spots or whatever it is you do. i did my dirt, and apologized. i'm turning over a new leaf, and you are trying desperately to discredit me. its no skin off my neck. people make the withdraws, then claim they were hacked. meanwhile the big accounts with the real money in them(3-5 btc) have no problems using the site or being "hacked". its pretty obvious whats going on here. you think you can scream scam loud enough to get me to cave and pay your little "i lost my coins to your exchange" extortion fees, but it aint happenin.

says the tough guy hiding behind the sock puppet. if you have anything meaningful to say, i'm listening. until then i'll chock it up to you just spreading fud. i'm pretty certain i never scammed you and screwed you over, but hey if i did and you say remember when you did this r3wt, if its true i will admit it. straight up. if you tell me what it is that i did, i will admit to it. i've either forgotten or you're lying.

i've done nothing wrong in regards to openex. have fun making threats on the internet like a child.

lots of complaints lately, and they are warranted. i was wondering everyones thoughts on the following:

what if we closed the exchange temporarily(allowing everyone time to get their coins out first of course) so that we could focus on fixing the site. it has alot of areas of deficiency(2fa, email functions don't work needs more account activity logging, ip logging for sessions, list goes on and on) and i think that with the exchange closed temporarily we would be able to address the issues without having to manage a live website at the same time. i'm gonna sleep on it but its looking like this is going to be necessary. release was rushed, and at this point i'm considering it a failed build. it works, but it just isn' t up to par. i think we can all agree on that.

just an FYI, you are talking to iGotSpots. he's butthurt over some shit that went down a long time ago. basically it all boils down to about 40 dollars and betrayed trust. he can't let it go, not that i wasn't wrong but he will probably always be following me around crying like this. i've learned to live with it.
