Any particular reason why the bitcoin price would surge due to merchant adoption? Let's all be honest with each other, bitcoin is still hard as fuck to use for the average person when buying something. Couple that with the volatility and there's just no incentive for anyone to use bitcoin over dollars.

All it would achieve is bring in more speculators who want in on the craze because they think they might make some profit. Yes that might surge the price temporarily, but it would drop just as fast as soon as everyone realizes everyone else is just here to make profits.

Are you frozenlock or why you have his image?

He is definitely not Frozenlock.   I have no idea why he stole his image, or why we have not heard from Frozen for quite a while.   I would speculate Frozen never bought back in after the April correction, since he said he was not holding through the fall again, and was expecting prices to fall much further than they did.   This guy who stole his avatar said in a post he only got into BTC this year.

He is not, much different type of thinking and writing yea. I think he bought back, at least he said he ended daytrading cause this fucked him up.

Nice stories, but either he told you them privately or you are making them up: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=13296;sa=showPosts

Smiley

He didn't tell me. I am thinking that he learnt some things in the meantime like not daytrading if you suck at it and not going against the strong trend for too long.

Remember we can go 100x higher, but you can only lost max 1x.

With lottery tickets we can go 10.000.000x, but you can only lose max 1x.

Better all hoard lottery tickets.

Lottery tickets odds are always much against you, bitcoin odds growth was historical always greatly on your side and paid off and potential could be seen as high even today if not year ago.

Playing the bear game is the stupidest thing one can do (same is true also for bulls if conditions are met, but surely not now). I learnt that and probably many on the forum. You better to learn on small money than big one. You play the bear game when you made a bad trade and want the price to go down. It is all psyhological and your emotions are a big part of this.

You need to observe the market. Publicity is high, trend was up, serious and not pocket money started appearing (maybe this was not seen on gox so much because of their problems), lots of hoarding, mentality changed on the forum...

Imagine playing a bear at $100, $150, $250... Till now. It would hurt my heart being an emotional bear to not ride this train. Anyhow, many are still lonely bears after SR, many bough back.

And yea, maybe it is not so different than prevoius rides, but this one is definetely not the same. Make a plan and stick to it when you make a good trade. Remember we can go 100x higher, but you can only lost max 1x.

Chooo chooooo.

I can't believe I sold all just under 500! I was so happy to have over a half million $ that I couldn't wait. Oh well, I guess all I can do is sit in my new completely paid off house and cry. lol

Better to cry in a new house than outside in the park.

You sold on stamp or gox at $500?

It takes weeks if not months for average person to invest larger amount of money. You went all in five days after you first heard of bitcoin?

I say we briefly test $300 tomorrow before finding a new equilibrium around $400.

Too many people dreaming about that , definitely not gonna happen.

Maybe, but surely not tomrrow or in one week.

1196  Economy / Speculation / Re: so who fell into the trap? on: November 19, 2013, 02:22:02 AM
Sold high like 10 mins before the dump on Bitstamp, only rebought a couple mins later because I thought the train was going to depart again. Then the dump started and I hold, then sold on the rebound. Tried to rebuy lower but had some competition so long story short I ended up with the same amount of coins I started with. It's quite often like this for me, my timing is just a little bit off and that can mean the difference between a 20-25% BTC profit and no profit or a loss. Sad

You sold on $650 right?
