1181  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Misconception about cryptocurrency on: November 27, 2022, 05:10:53 PM
When people accuse cryptocurrency of being a scam in light of recent events like the luna and FXT exchange, it irritates me. Crypto is a risky investment but that's not a good reason to call it a scam during a bear market.

Very correct OP, many people are in a rush to darg Crypto-currency especially in this FTX saga, but that mostly for inexpensive Crypton-currency users. No one promised anyone no failures or things like this on Crypto-currency so lower your expectations guys and tighten up your security sensitivity.

There are many users that hasn’t experienced such exchanges issue or scams like give ways, ponzi and other trick because you guide yourself properly.
1182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bad beginning for crypto beginners. on: November 27, 2022, 04:14:04 PM
Having this bad beginning won’t only fail in Crypto-currency but it may lost likely fail generally in life. Beginner in Crypto-currency got here via many different ways or motivates, I actually not holding anyone by the next for what ever they heard before coming into crypto-currency but where I do is when they aren’t unlearn and learning what’s right for them here.

Emphasis has already been laid to some of your point but for some reason great number of beginners still wallow in the wrong eductions they got before coming. Probably experience is the best teacher and punishment too.
1183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Users Can Now Verify The Bitcoin They Own Via Merkle Tree on: November 27, 2022, 03:32:40 PM

This is cool. Other exchanges I think will like to also open thier balances to all so that people will see thru which one is insolvent and we be aware of what might happen and prevent another SBF in this industry.

CZ is quick to have this transparency. Because he was already criticized for taking the step for the POR by the guys who promoted FTX particularly MeetKevin and his friends such as Stephan Graham.
In my own opinion Exchanges such as Binance understand that they are on a backlash for being centralized, yes they have patronage but are mostly vendors who are business minded and don’t really care about centralization or decentralization.

I think what binance is trying to do it so win people over although I don’t think Binance are completely transparent, some people has lost their funds on Binance for some privacy issue of low implications. I don’t know the future of Binance yet but I am really not moved with story by this.
1184  Economy / Economics / Re: EU Moving to Ban Privacy Coins: Report on: November 26, 2022, 08:37:30 PM
It won’t be easy even for EU to place a ban on privacy coin. Like the name implies it’s a coin that supports privacy and would most like also support anonymity, security and it’s should also be decentralized.

The government has always felt threatened by coins that possess such properties. It’s hand to regulate or track privacy coins and it’s uses, but this many be the litmus test because if they go ahead only camouflage privacy coin would be exposed and go down.
1185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: November 26, 2022, 07:59:36 PM
Argentina are currently at half time and still playing a draw, actually this is the most unpredictable World Cup so far, and if Argentina lose this match they would be out of the competition.

Earlier today the polish squad put away Saudi Arabia meaning the are currently topping the group with Saudi Arabia in second place. This is a must win for Argentina if you ask me.
1186  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The patient buyer ... on: November 26, 2022, 07:37:46 PM
Is this poetry? lol. Really I don’t get you OP what are you referring to? You can make this write up just like that, what are you telling us to buy? This is a large ecosystem. The Crypto-currency world can swallow anyone. Contrary to what the OP has said I think it not about you buying it.
I rather know what I am buying, I research on it and if it’s a fail coin and it’s falling definitely I am done with it and counting my loss.

I don’t have any Altcoin yet, I believe in bitcoin and this is the only coin I can say anyone to buy at any market conditions if they have capital to do so.
1187  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: November 25, 2022, 08:34:48 PM
Omo, like dis everybody dey para for the redesigned naira notes. But wetin I Kno be say wetin don happen don happen. We dey lament say we govt corrupt and all that, but e no go change the fact say the naira dey lose value
I greet you my brother, when I first hear the story about central bank of Nigeria wanting to release a new design on the 200, 500, 1000 naira note, I no see am as necessary till I learnt that part of their reasons na because too many of the currency Dey circulation and away from banks, and money launderers and them kind don Dey save the money away from banks.

And when the redesign come out I also no too reason even if e Dey obvious that nothing much was done on the design but Wetin Dey mad me be the amount of money them claim say them use to run the redesign mata. My people make we wise up.
1188  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: November 25, 2022, 07:56:10 PM
This is the end of the road for Qatar, this is probably the first World Cup the underdogs aren’t just sitting around and Qatar the host Is amongst the worst team, after a lost to the Reigning African nations cup champions Senegal. In the first match I think Iran out played wales in ever aspect and showed character until the end of the match.

It’s still an open group, with England favorite to top the group but the second place finish is now between Iran and the United States of America.
1189  Economy / Economics / Re: Changing of bank notes; any impact on economy? on: November 25, 2022, 07:13:50 PM
Firstly mate. I think the Nigerian Central bank embarrassed themselves if they can say what they did was the naira note Redesign. The official image of how the new note would be has been made public and has been greeted with a frown by Nigerian.

What is even funny is how some top directors of agencies in Nigeria feels that the new naira redesign would make the naira have value as to take its value which is at almost 800naira to a dollar to 200naira to a dollar.
I think it’s still all about corruption because the figures they have stated as the cost for the design is very much outrageous.
1190  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoins the step to wealth. on: November 25, 2022, 05:52:33 PM
You are welcome and congratulations on finding this forum. But we have welcomed many that started like this but got lost in the Crypto-currency ecosystem and either went out the same way or they left out with loss.
You are fresh here and I don’t think you know if Bitcoin is a path to wealth, I can even suggest you finding a skill is a better path to wealth than hoping on Bitcoin and crypto-currency.

The Crypto-currency world is volatile, it can take a while for a bull run to appear and many times if we honest the bad market is predominantly occurring. But this won’t be a problem for long term Bitcoin holders. Find other use of Bitcoin and just like me you would appreciate it better.
1191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Ethereum keep its leadership in the crypto smart contract industry? on: November 24, 2022, 08:31:01 PM
I think Ethereum has had an interrupted reign in smart contract and it has large amounts of users of its smart contract. But even before the merger happened the Ethereum network started to see less patronage than it use to get before. Back then it was so much that the network gets congested. I think this downward spiral has to do with the transactions fee on Ethereum.

Ethereum high transactions fee was slowly reducing the amount of people using because there are other networks that has good transactions speed and very affordable fee than the Ethereum network. Now with the decentralization going away on the merger I don’t know how much longer Ethereum can hang up on its position.
1192  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you agree that an employer should hire employees who are smarter than him? on: November 24, 2022, 07:40:24 PM
Well let’s take Elon musk for example he hires people that are smarter than him who works very hard to build his own empire and he gets more super rich and while their employees just gets their normal pay. This is how Billionaires get rich and their employees earn the little they do.

I don’t think billionaires can do without some smart people around them, left alone they can only do as little as they can, and I doubt if there is any right thinking Employers that would even hire an employee who aren’t smarter especially when the employees are in very important position.
1193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: November 24, 2022, 06:44:00 PM
I was really not impressed with Uruguay today. This team has the most efficient strike force in the World Cup. With Darwin Nunez, Luis Suarez, Cavani and also a strong midfield and defense.
They came against a South Korean team which doesn’t have much individual team force but they have team spirit.

I think this can be considered an upset and the group is wide open. In the next game Ronaldo came through for his Portuguese team today but my man of the match in that match was Bruno Fernandez.
1194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: After FTX collapse, some call for a return to decentralized roots on: November 23, 2022, 08:17:06 PM
How do you mix centralization with Crypto-currency. I am yet to see a through crypto-currency enthusiast that upholds decentralization and very sensitive to security complain about lose that’s not due to wrong investment.

The so called big centralized exchange are completely greedy business men, yes some has asset worth billions and very influential but if you can take the teaching we get from here you would avoid or limit getting on Centralized exchanges. FTX isn’t the first and they won’t close the curtain on such tragedy.
1195  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Invest without predicting a time of bull on: November 23, 2022, 06:57:28 PM
Well even if you expect the bull run it doesn’t make the bull run comes faster so it’s of no use. Investing in Crypto-currency mostly frustrate short period investors, investing in Crypto-currency (Altcoin) for a short time trying to maximize the buy low and sell high in a short period theory does not work all the time rather you may sell them some dollars lower than you purchases.

I am in no position in advising on Altcoin especially those low market cap ones because I don’t believe in them. But a good strategy in Crypto-currency investment is long term, but it would work specially if you have considered other essential strategies.
1196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: November 22, 2022, 07:37:31 PM
I was really surprised to see Argentina play the way they did today. Saudi Arabia is not a known for football and seeing them win Argentina is unbelievable.
Argentina are my favorite to win this tournament but today I don’t know if I should have a rethink, they where not clinical and although I give props to the Saudi Arabian goal keeper he really deserved the man of the match award he got from today.
1197  Economy / Economics / Re: FTX Drama and Global Empact on: November 20, 2022, 08:17:37 PM
FTX issues has really giving crypto-Currency critics something to bite on. This damages are large to let go. I think there would be repercussions for this.

FTX exchange has also brought some lessons to many and that's never trust a centralized exchange, so much can go wrong, ignore how big they are even Binance, it still can happen to them. The dangers on centralized exchange and also the lack of security and privacy protection.
The FTX issues goes on I don't think it would take long before some government finds reason for sanctioning because of this issue.
1198  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: As a newbie I stay off shitcoin and it paid off, Bitcoin is the king. on: November 20, 2022, 07:25:31 PM
If you are honest with yourself you would state you had a drop also in your Bitcoin investment, and guess what that is not really bad because crypto-currency is volatile. Yes just like you I prefer Bitcoin over Altcoin and I am also yet to get any Altcoin but I don't down play them out rightly.

Your friend did not lose because he invested in Altcoin but rather he invested wrongly, there are still Altcoins that has there heads above waters even after the FTX saga, advice Sam your friend to stop going for Hype, FOMO or FUD but rather do his research.
1199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: November 20, 2022, 06:45:33 PM
This is probably the best World Cup opening ceremony I have ever seen I must be very honest with you, the Qatar citizens really gave us a great show.

The ceremony wasn't matched by the Qatar team performance though, I don't expect them to win the match against Ecuador but seeing that Ecuador isn't much of a big team themselves I thought at least they should have had a goal. Well I hope we see better games in the world cup later on.
1200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Promotion and Adoption in my locality on: November 20, 2022, 04:38:36 PM
I like this one OP accepting Bitcoin is one of the ways to encourage people to an actually see Crypto-currency as usable and not just an investment property. You can also motivate others to start this process too.

But it's not just going to end by you accepting Bitcoin alone, I believe you know some of your patronizers you can start by telling them about Bitcoin. You can mostly based on what challenges they face right now in Crypto-currency.
