1181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The beauty of Bitcoin is in use case. on: July 28, 2023, 11:44:03 AM
It’s indeed a welcomed innovation where we have more recent innovations having to incorporate systems of our times like bitcoin payment for a yet to be very regular EV charging stations. Though, I would like to note that the quote talks about a percent of the over 60,000 existing stations to have incorporated this payment media for service rendered and purchases as such, exaggerating the facts to it makes it a little sketchy @OP.

We can see a deeper penetration once bitcoin became legal to major countries. But for now we cannot enjoy yet its use case so rather waiting that for come then we should look at it on other perspective like use this on investment side since this is more ideal for now rather than wait for those acceptance to come since we might get outdated or miss some opportunity when bitcoin price is so cheap and also we didn't trade for couple of times it fluctuates.
Possibly that would bring about an explosion of the bitcoin used case but that has only hindered so much especially when it has to do with businesses.
One of the sides to it is, its volatile nature. Should bitcoin some day attain some stability, it would promote its usage.
1182  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will btc drop to 27k? on: July 28, 2023, 11:32:20 AM
This sort of low effort post isn’t welcomed here.
You could have as well gone to the speculation board and ask this as a question within an active discussion thread on the subject and someone is sure to note it and respond.
I’ll like to believe you could do better and I’ll urge you to ho about doing that.

Mind you, no one can accurately tell if the price would drop to $27k from its current position at $29k, $27k is very possible.
1183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lost bitcoins on: July 27, 2023, 11:32:07 AM
<snipe>
Technically, the bitcoins aren’t lost as its readily visible on the address or addresses instead, what’s lost is the seed phrase or private keys to the wallets hodling them and in some cases, on some exchange that went out of existence. In most cases, these exchanges just make away with your money and you consider it lost.

Should the coins be recovered by any means, that still doesn’t mean it’s all going to be offered for sales in the market. Haven’t understood what values it’s got and what future it could have in time, it wouldn’t be strange to have anyone completely liquidate their portfolio. I think the smart move would be, selling just enough to be stable or rich as you could be while, you hodl the major for a time you don’t know yet.

In the event that such persons or organizations gets to sell, surely the market will sock it all up and be back before you know it.
1184  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trade with caution on: July 26, 2023, 11:46:09 PM
Trading the crypto market is the one place where you can try any reckless or unexamined moves because, it’s money your playing around with in a market filled with both professionals and those that trades for themselves, all with many years of experience haven’t been hooked up on trading for so long.

You don’t become better by trading the market once, you get to practice and lots of it, try your over time developed skills and see how it works with you. It’s a good thing there are lots of resources out there to research with and align yourself to what is obtainable but, never feel too all knowing to trade the market without proper analysis and exercise caution about the level of leverage you use.
1185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Irresponsible behavior at the Las Vegas Casino on: July 26, 2023, 11:38:53 PM
For some reasons, many gamblers especially those who see’s it for the capacity of solving life problems might be making some huge mistakes as, anything with the power to solve have also got the power to destroy.

While some people come to gambling house or sites for excitement purposes, others look to it for a life saver and many times, they end up ruining their life’s more than it already was. They end up with more and more pressure, take to drugs  and drinking then, it becomes a gambling problem.

Not just anyone should gamble but those who have got the mental capacity to handle its stunts and can manage money.
1186  Economy / Economics / Re: Methods to cut food costs on: July 26, 2023, 11:07:57 PM

Grow your veggies in your backyard, this is the best solution just as some preppers are saying. It's not difficult to do since there are already tutorials on how to grow bitter gourd, beans, and some tomatoes or cabbage. I have potatoes planted in a container and after 5 months, I already got sacks of potatoes. I chose potatoes because I wanna have chips of my own.

Cutting food costs doesn't need to compromise health by eating only canned goods.
One of the greatest discomfort one encounters from the agro based side to living is the time it takes for the crops to grow to maturity and the loads of work that is required to run the farm. These, a lot of people don’t want to be involved with but, it’s the sad truth.
You can’t hope to cut cost on food when you go about buying all that you eat. That’s not being cost intensive.

The good news about farming these days is that, you don’t always need land. You could work something out with any space you’ve got, give it some lighting, plant between deep and shallow rooted crops, proper irrigation while, you redirect some of those funds some place else.
1187  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin self-rating on: July 26, 2023, 10:56:27 PM
I was hoping to see some sort of scale to define individual ratings in respect to the entire bitcoin innovation but in the absence of any particular scale, I’ll invent one for myself and that be; on a scale of 1 - 10, I’ll rate myself to be 6. Possibly because I don’t want to give myself a 5 but be way above average but then, the technical part about the whole innovation is still unraveling and until then, I’ll rate myself somewhere around average.

On the whole, bitcoin have in many ways impacted the way I approach almost all that concerns me and life itself. It’s teachings about privacy raises a lot of concerns as to how I fill forms online and offline, what details to sort out for on documents, T&C of concerns and how to approach investment opportunities.
1188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Small/medium scale Businesses confidence in accepting Bitcoin on: July 26, 2023, 10:21:01 PM
My question might come as been stupid or childish so constructive criticism would be appreciated.
I have come across a lot of users that plans on accepting Bitcoin in their business and I'm curious on how they tackle fraudulent problems.
Asking questions and learning haven’t got any stupid thing about it. It’s simply you trying to improve yourself about what you ought to know on a course and that’s okay.

Quote
  • If for example a user of a custodial wallet sends Bitcoin to buy some goods and the seller voluntary chooses not to meet their end of the bargain, who are they going to complain to?
There wouldn’t be any need to worry about the buyer not sending his or her coin in the event of a physical transaction once the trade is initiated and the transaction has got at least one confirmation on it. At that point, transactions becomes irreversible.

Quote
  • In countries where crypto are considered illegal isn't it risky to accept Bitcoin as a medium of exchange? Then why are some people still accepting it?
Cryptos aren’t completely outlawed in most countries, it’s mostly a question of it not being recognized for a means of exchange. Still, it would be great to stick to your nation’s laws about the assets you keep.

Quote
  • In a trade does the buyer send their Bitcoin first or the seller send their goods/service?
It’s dependent on the deal at the time. You both gets to decide based on the level of trust and if, your ready to take the risk in the event that, you both aren’t physically present.

In all, I would say you shouldn’t start what you ain’t ready for. Not until your well informed on it.
1189  Economy / Lending / Re: 250€ loan - Repay 300€ in 1 week on: July 24, 2023, 02:34:56 PM
Well, it’s way too late now and besides, you already started that you have received the funds and so, closing this thread as advised would be the best. If your unable to delete at your end, kindly lock the thread or move it to archives.

Actually, i was looking also for invenstors or joint venture, but that would be the next step.
In course of next time, a little clarity could aid you better as this seems a little cranky and have uncertainties circulating about it. Also, you could wait a week for your testing I think. A week is never too long a time and don’t be in a hurry for a business that isn’t seasonal, not like you was trying to secure a contract or something and besides, $250 is that small and something you could have gotten easily in your locality.

Don’t know how you got funded, but you sure did get a tag to tell you, this move isn’t the best of ideas for you and should be avoided.
1190  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 700€ on: July 24, 2023, 02:13:44 PM
Little to no hope that someone will lend me something but I still wanted to ask here, as im desperate atm and MAYBE there is someone out there who could help out.
Little to no hope is right.
It’s a lot you’re asking for, 700€ and you’ve got no reputation on the forum being a new user. You as well know all that disqualifies you from anyone having to risk their money with you and your ID guarantees nothing. Like what will anyone have to do with it? The cost to recovery might be as well worth more than the given loan and not everyone would like to take those steps or as well risk revealing their identity in the process.

Sorry but, you don’t get a chance. Try making something out of your stay here and when you’ve got some value on your account with respect to the campaign and manger your attached with, you might get some benefits from being here.
1191  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Irresponsible behavior at the Las Vegas Casino on: July 24, 2023, 02:05:56 PM
Wow! That was something and in Las Vegas!
I won’t call this an effect of gambling but, simply an effect from other activities that surrounded the resort. Drinking or not, clearly this guy was influenced by something way beyond the sense of normalcy as he displayed. That was a lot of scene to contend with and the security at the casino let it all happen. This ought not to have been.
How could they let him have walked all the way, naked until he climbed a top a poker table. The video shows the security only been physically involved only when he grabbed them Poker playing cards. He already broke a code in being naked at the casino, that ought to have prompt immediate actions.
1192  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: A call to order. on: July 23, 2023, 11:35:03 PM

1193  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Scanning barcode to make payment on: July 23, 2023, 11:19:28 PM
Well, think it poses more risk than the ordinary address would. The difference is, address takes much time to input correctly and even at that, the address could be switched on an already compromised device else, you would do fine and other cases that involves manual writhing of the address, you could get some characters wrong given by its length. Still, ther is more safety in addresses than barcodes.
A shifty merchant can’t switch the barcodes or perhaps input a malware so it doesn’t work on the device and you look out for other means but, your device has been infiltrated and head on, the damages can start happening there after.
1194  Economy / Economics / Re: Population: Economic strength or weakness on: July 23, 2023, 11:14:14 PM
I think it counts for the weakness of an economy. Having the work force with no work to do simply means, an over competition on the available and over exploitation of the available resource. This often becomes the case for over populated nations hence the need for policies to help put population in check. China instilled one and its been working good for them, this was out of a necessity and not as though the economy.

When we look at the essential needs of a human, we talk about food, cloth and shelter. Not technology, not social media and the host of them you could think of. Over population puts stress on all that and makes conditions for living much difficult. That has a negative effect on the economy as it could lead to unlawful acts.
1195  Economy / Economics / Re: Entrepreneurship and women on: July 23, 2023, 10:59:33 PM
As a result of the difficult economic times, do you consider that there will be more women entrepreneurs competing with men in this field which it so looks like they currently dominate?
I don’t think it’s mainly about the economy of the times, I think it’s a man’s innate behavior to see himself as the head and wish to do this that helps him to maintain that spot as being the head in every societal endeavor. A man always see himself to be in the position of being the provider and that pushes him to explore his environment, making the necessary survey to search out opportunities and consider options that could make things a lot more better not just for him but, for those he feels responsible over and that includes his woman.

Majority of women buys the idea of being at the receiving end even though they happen to be generating a good enough wealth as well. They often have expectations from the male counterparts and that draws the line to what efforts they could always put in to archive goals.
1196  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you consider moving abroad? on: July 23, 2023, 10:43:41 PM

It is usually the third world countries that will consider leaving there country for a more developed countries like those in Europe because they lack technological developments and infrastructure to make life conducive for living. This does not include India etc. The people in technologically developed countries can travel to the less developed countries for special skill jobs, therefore they travel as expatriate and are well paid and talking care of with specified job description
It’s apparently the case, like how could it not be. I don’t blame those who seek for greener pastures in a foreign country. It doesn’t necessarily mean you would be going to the more advanced nations with lots of tech advancements but, in a nation where things works. You know, there are places and even some states within your individual nation where whatever engagement you get involved with seems to work.

I don’t have anything against moving abroad but, I feel you would enjoy your nation better and every nation has got their individual problems and you would only find out when you’re there. Hope you’ll be able to cope though.
1197  Economy / Economics / Re: Can your passion lead to an increase in your net worth? on: July 23, 2023, 10:07:22 PM
Depending on whether your passion is applicable to your current job, most employers look for accomplishment in workers as well as called passion at work that gives a chance to be promoted. There are many workers who just want to earn money, that's enough for them, just work and don't need to improve themselves. So your expected increase in your salary is vague. Before we hope for the increase we want, let's be honest and diligent in our duties as workers not because we worked, we will just expect an immediate increase.Be progressive to have a chance to move up in work and also in life.
I don’t think the idea is about progression in a current engagement or job attachment. Of course that would come and it happens to those who are diligent in their work but, having alternatives backed by your passion is the idea here.

There is potential in passion and for one to be able to tap into it and convert it to a source of wealth is a skill in which most persons don’t have. Some have got the help they need in other persons, some have got the tools for it while others have got nothing and others have got nothing. Just them passion but, don’t know what or how to go about it.

For sure, most of those who sell them services in the entertainment industry, it’s just passion working out for them. They are still free to have jobs or work jobs but, it’s chiefly passion.
1198  Economy / Economics / Re: Can CBDC users lose control of their money? on: July 23, 2023, 09:50:25 PM
Here's what was found there:

Tweet about it. Curious options, right?

"Many in the cryptocurrency community have raised concerns that a CBDC has the potential to infringe on their financial freedom and encroach on their privacy." - This wording sounds in the article (from cointelegraph.com).
What was the expectation?

It’s centralize and control is the whole point. For what is worth, we still operating some form of mobile banking and has got to operate just the way commercial banks do operate and that is, freezing and unfreezing of account, transferring coins as they deem fit and monitoring the transaction of users. It makes no difference. CBDC and mobile banking, it’s typically the same thing to me.

There still exists a huge difference between CBDC and cryptocurrency hence, the ideas which backs it up to be a competitor for the cryptocurrency innovation is very much wasted.
1199  Economy / Speculation / Re: Be patient and you will be there soon. on: July 22, 2023, 08:58:09 PM
The reason why becoming a good investor or trader is so difficult is that it runs contrary to what we consider common sense, if an asset is rising in price the most natural thing to do is to assume this is going to keep being the case and we will want to become part of that bull movement, however the bull market is the moment to sell not to buy, and the bear market is the same, as many sell at the time when they should be looking to buy instead since the price of bitcoin is very low during that period.
It’s the one thing that makes the network beautiful.
At every point in the market, there is always a buyer and seller ready to exchange values in its equivalent to a different commodity. Still, the market conditions and rules continues to apply.

That’s what is expected and that’s what keeps telling you that, crypto investors continues to pursue means of using and making cryptocurrency attain its best fit in a situation.

It would be wrong should everyone try to hodl bitcoin and expect that, only what is being put out there is the block reward from miners. That wouldn’t tell well of the crypto innovation and so, a continued buy and selling, providing volatility and liquidation of certain amount of one’s asset is a necessity for growth.
1200  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin maximum price on: July 22, 2023, 08:50:13 PM
Let's see the market prediction by crypto community.

.
Ask me what might be the price of bitcoin over the course of four years ago with respect to the current ATH,I wouldn’t have guessed it to have reached $60k, not a chance. At the time, it seemed something that wasn’t going to happen within the time frame.
Now, if we are to cap what could be the maximum price of bitcoin, I would say it’s much too early for that as, bitcoin is still young in our todays society and have got more years to count it’s values.

The most we could expect or try to get insight into is the goods the next halving could bring which could break the current existing ATH and create a new ATH.
So, you could as well be actively hodling till that happens and have no course for regrets over wrong decisions.
