1181  Economy / Speculation / Re: Know your time to HOLD on: May 19, 2023, 02:04:08 PM
You won't get anything from Bitcoin if you can't hold Bitcoin for a long period of time, if you are listening to crypto YouTubers and they are shilling their success stories online there is a important part you missed, they won't tell you how they started their journey, it's never going to be smooth, but they will make it sound so easy, like something you can get into and make a lot of money in just few months, that's not so true.

It's why many people on this forum are telling newbies to invest money they won't be needing for more than a year into crypto, it's because the reality is long term, if you are looking for crazy money in a short period of time you need to learn how to follow crypto money, and this is even the hardest part, like when memcoins suddenly became big after we all thought that Shiba inu will be the last best of it's kind, or go look for pyramid schemes.

I like taking the hardest way to success because it's the surest and safest way to make live changing money, not those memecoins that could destroy everything you've spent so much time to gather together.
1182  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin retirement benefits on: May 19, 2023, 01:23:21 PM
I don't need to advice you to always have at least some Fiat stores in your bank, having some Fiat in your bank won't stop you from holing your Bitcoin for a long period of time but it's because of emergencies that's why it's not a good plan to put all your money in Bitcoin, there will always be volatility moment in the future of Bitcoin, so to tale profits sometimes will feel wrong because you will be selling your coins for more sats at lesser value, if you understand what I mean.

I also want to be a long term Bitcoin holder and possibly plan my retirement with crypto but we can't push Fiat away as if it's not useful at all, remember that to get what we all desire for we still need Fiat because not all businesses accept Bitcoin or any crypto.
1183  Economy / Economics / Re: The thin line between contentment & living below potential, Patience & wasting t on: May 19, 2023, 12:04:35 PM
It's their choice if they plan not to do more, respect them for that, some people are religion fanatics and they believe that no matter what you acquired you will leave it behind one day, but most times it's like they are telling me to live a miserable life and behind, these same people are working hard, I think the reason why they are advicing others that nothing is worth it in life is because they can't live seeing others doing well than them, yeah some people are this wicked in this world.

Everyone wants the best of the best but they don't want others to get the best of the best, some are categorized as envy and some are jealousy, if you feel contented with your present state do not change the mind of others or try to pull them down.
1184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Getting around KYC on: May 19, 2023, 10:28:20 AM
That's a crap platform for buying and selling Bitcoin, the app which is a crypto wallet allow you to meet other people in the zip code your provided just for trading? How come I am the only one thinking how dangerous this is? , it a not even safe because location can one way or other be revealed, since this app is using Zipcode it's a red flag.

I have been using Binance Exchange peer-to-peer feature for a very long time now and there's no need for anyone to know the location for the zip code of seller, all you have to do is provide your bank details where you will receive your payment and Binance will release your crypto asset to the buyer after you have confirmed that you received the fund.
1185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ledger hardware wallet offering custody for seed backups on: May 18, 2023, 01:21:32 PM
I think that Ledger messed up and now people look into other hard wallets. But I never used one, I'm keeping my Bitcoin with other coins in OWNR wallet since I don't have too much and keep my seed phrase on paper in 2 hidden copies.
I've heard about OWNR, how cool is this wallet? I guess it's another Trust wallet like aka hot wallet, it seems the best way is to write down recovery seeds and keep them offline, most hardware wallets are having issues I don't know why, there was one that look like a complete Android phone, so nice looking, I thought it will be the most secured hardware wallet until people start complaining about missing assets in the wallet, some said it's a bug and now I don't have interest in such hardware wallet ever again, if same thing happen with ledger then people will have no choice but to abandon Ledger and buy other hardware wallet.
1186  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammer Alert! Brokerstorm scam my money on: May 18, 2023, 12:17:02 PM
Truth be told,  I've not seen anyone on here using a gambling platform that's out of this forum, is a gambling platform like Brokerstorm comes on here, they will be dealt with by red tags and many people will know that they are not clean from cheating and robbing their users, but what is there to do about an outsider? Because Borkerstorm has no ANN on this forum, people on this forum are smarter to always use gambling platforms that are popular and have an ANN on the forum, so that when they do something wrong you can raise awareness and they can easily fix your problem to avoid ruining their rep.
1187  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So when bitcoin version 2 satoshi? on: May 18, 2023, 11:21:01 AM
Where were you when everyone thought that Bitcoin Cash was the better Bitcoin? Where were you when everyone taught Bitcoin Private was the King? The truth is Bitcoin will always remain the best Bitcoin, do you have any dev experience and knowledge? I dare you to go create your own Bitcoin version 2, it will fail just like the rest.

If you are not satisfied with what Bitcoin is offering right now then you are better off investing money on Altcoins and other shitcoins, maybe the memecoin or kaspa that claimed to be the better BITCOIN.

Remember, do not always expect someone to do something for you, if you think there is a better idea you are the only one that thinks so, do not wait around and do something new, if possible.
1188  Economy / Economics / Re: How to spend money determines whether you can avoid unnecessary problems on: May 18, 2023, 10:13:34 AM
Pray that you don't have a bigger problem that your money will be able to solve, imagine having a tumor in your body that will cost you thousands of Dollars to remove and all you have on you is just 5000$, this is going to be a problem unless you have family friends that cares about you and are ready to help, the most popular problems among humans is financial problems and they can still stay alive and manage what they have, but the most dangerous problem is health problem,  pray you don't become a victim of health problem.

The more you learn how to spend money wisely the lesser your problems will be, always make sure that you are saving some money aside for emergencies and always make sure to invest your money for a better future, so whatever problem comes your way you will be at least able to face them.
1189  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the difference between banks and big whales in crypto? on: May 18, 2023, 09:32:27 AM
Banks are earning big profit from our deposits, they earn bigger than the interest that we get from our deposit because they put a bigger interest rate through thier borrower's or lenders, i think bank is not too far from big whales in crypto they buy or collect coins in dip and they sell in bull and they earn bigger from the holders that sell at loss  they are almost the same or what? What dou you think?
Is this the only fault that you see in Banks? banks are very good at using their customers fund for other things like trading and running other business without informing their customers, believe me, they are very good at it, because I have a family member who works in the bank and he have worked is different banks before, he told me how banks use customer money to run other businesses and investments, many people don't know this.

It's like the bank is telling us that we lack the knowledge to use our money to get better Returns and since they're willing to keep our money for us, then they have the right to make use of the money for their own gains.
1190  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ALERT Ledger Secure Element on: May 17, 2023, 03:12:58 PM
For almost the same reason I always take my time before updating my wallet software, because some updates can be crappy and vulnerable to attacks, I won't update until a month later because if the new update is not doing things right they will still have to patch it and bad actors might find their ways into peoples crypto wallet and start stealing their coins.

Stay away from any mobile or hardware wallet that gives access to cloud data backup, they don't know what they are doing, Private keys and seed recoveries are safer offline than anywhere online, say no to cloud backup.
1191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some people started their BTC journey when things were more hopeless on: May 17, 2023, 02:01:39 PM
Most people get a lot of things wrong, so they make wrong decisions because they listen to various "influencers" who tell them what to do and when to do it. Not much has changed in that regard since 2016, which the OP mentions as its beginning, except that Bitcoin was less well-known then than it is today, and the fact that after the big bull run at the end of 2017 it entered the mainstream.

Today there are companies and individuals who own a lot of Bitcoins, but I don't think that this is something completely positive considering that they do not use Bitcoin for anything other than storing value, and that at any moment they can cause panic if they publicly announce that they are selling all or part of the coins they own.

Personally, I liked the time when the price of BTC was only a few hundred $, everyone could buy it (1 whole BTC), and it was used much more as a currency, and not only as an investment.

You are right about possible panic from those that hold a large number of Bitcoin, and that's a bad thing, if panic comes it's going to be helpful, the more those that hold a large number of Bitcoin sell their bags the better it will become for Bitcoin, Bitcoin needs to be circulated instead of some whales holding large number of Bitcoin, so for the short term the panic will cause more dump but for the long term it's better. So What do you think?

If everyone buy Bitcoin at 100$ per one, for how long do you think that the price will stay at 100$? For something that was created to have value as more people buy, this is impossible,  many people wont be able to buy for 100$ before it will move on to 110$, 120$, 200$, the more the adoption increases the higher the price will grow.
1192  Economy / Economics / Re: Financial education or 1million dollars on: May 17, 2023, 12:47:43 PM
I was build in such a way that I know how to manage my way out of anything, imagine been in possession of a million dollars, that's a lot and I can't even spend all this money before living this world, I am very contented with whatever I have and 1 million dollars is way too much for me, half a million is more than enough, things are hard in my country that's for sure but expenses are not like those living in other countries, with 100$ per month I will survive and live a ease life with my family.

I started from nobody to somebody and I used to save a lot, I started crypto as a airdrop and faucet hunter and I did this for years until I started making 30$ to 100$ from airdrops, this is who I am, so I don't need a lot to survive and not just to survive but to lead a good life too.
1193  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Am I right about this or not on: May 17, 2023, 10:38:29 AM
Thank you, @Z390, for this thread. It was just about creating a similar thread for clarification about the mining reward for the last Bitcoin halving and possibly all Bitcoin mined. I don't know how long they will be, but out of curiosity, I always wanted to ask about it.

I still have one of my curiosity questions unanswered. To some point, I always think that there might be a greater reward for miners since they will only be earning from transaction fees. Can't they be tempted to increase the amount they can charge per transaction? To earn high fees from those that want their transaction to be confirmed and don't run a node of their own.
That's not the miner's duty, they existed to only make transactions from one to another block successful, there is no way miners can give senders fee they should pay, this would have cause a disrupt in Bitcoin since the beginning.

Bitcoin miners will be fine with the fees only, the reward may be lower but I doubt, if Bitcoin survives to the very end it means there will be over 10 million users already using Bitcoin so the higher the number of Bitcoin users the more transactions will be needed to transact per day and that's more rewards for miners.

It's no doubt, Bitcoin miners will be in safe hands.
1194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I look foward to the day Bitcoin will have backer/tender on: May 17, 2023, 09:52:18 AM
You can pay with Bitcoin at any store that accepts Bitcoin payment by scanning the store barcode, the Fiat was designed go work offline and Bitcoin was design to work online, this doesn't baffle me because it's working the way it's supposed to work.

Satoshi never designed Bitcoin for offline purposes, the only thing that should be offline is your private key and recovery seed, no internet no way to transact your Bitcoin, moreover, internet is now a big part of the world now and it's here to stay, it would have been a big headache if Satoshi would have made Bitcoin offline, let's show some appreciation.

Been able to keep my Bitcoin offline makes it more secure and this is enough, even if the internet is down, your Bitcoin is still yours wherever you kept it.
1195  Economy / Speculation / Re: The price of bitcoin is not rising soon!. on: May 16, 2023, 04:37:20 PM
Op needs a lot to learn about price action in the charts, do you expect Bitcoin to skyrocket 🚀 just like that? If that happens we will fall back to 10k, that's not how the market works we need to keep maintaining this side ways price action for a long period of time and moreover, halving is not even up to a year again, that's where you should put your mind at, when halving is successful then need money will come into the market once again.

You will not want Bitcoin to pump right now if you are constantly accumulating Bitcoins. The dips should last longer so that I can accumulate as many satoshi as possible in my bitcoin wallet. In my opinion, long-term bear markets are very healthy for next bull markets. Based on how things are looking now, I see a similar pattern to that of 2015.
1196  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wrong Predictions as price keep failing! on: May 16, 2023, 03:22:33 PM
That's a good prediction, it may happen and it may not happen, but that is not the main goal here, my main goal is to hold my bitcoin for a very long period of time and I refuse to sell it at a lower price.

Bitcoin predictions are only good for those who are in the market for a short period of time, or for a short-term gain,  if you're in the market for a long-term profit,  the present  value of bitcoin shouldn't matter to you or what the value of bitcoin will be at the end of this year shouldn't  matter to you.

30k or more is possible because we are not even in the bitcoin halving year, I don't understand what people are trying to achieve with the price of Bitcoin in a bear market, either you like it or not, 2023 will be a bear market through out, the promising movement from Bitcoin will come in 2024.
1197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How useful is Bitcoin to the youth? on: May 16, 2023, 02:36:35 PM
Very useful if the youths know how to use it, I know some students in a university that have no supporters, some have no parents and bitcoin is what they have been using to keep themselves in school, they learn trading and few other things that net them good amount of money per month, they are able to even invest in crypto with extra money.

If people in a very hard tight spot can still be able to provide for themselves then definitely anybody can do it, I keep telling people to invest in Bitcoin like the stock market and real estate because the difference is not that much and Bitcoin brings in more profit than stock and real estate.
1198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Willing my bitcoin to my children on: May 16, 2023, 01:40:16 PM
Now is the best time to start lecturing your kids about Bitcoin and crypto wallets, it's going to be challenging if they are still very young and I wont like you forcing them to learn it, make sure they are up to 14 years old because some kids have passion for other things and it wont be right to bring Bitcoin to their attention at that very young age which can influence them into letting go on something they have build so much passion for, hope you get my message.

It's not a must to settle them with Bitcoin, make sure they have interest in Bitcoin first, imagine after buying hardware and sending them Bitcoin and they decide to sell and never buy back? So why the stress in the first place? Let them be the pathfinder.

Some kids will prefer Fiat instead no matter how much you want them to get involved with Bitcoin and there is nothing you can do to change their minds, make sure the kids develop an interest in Bitcoin first.
1199  Economy / Economics / Re: Retirement Age for Workers - Does this Make Sense? on: May 16, 2023, 01:11:47 PM
It depends, some people get retired because they have been in service for way too long and some are retired because they are old, I understand that some older people are still able to work, but retirement comes with pension money right? Although some government in some countries don't fulfill their promises to retired government workers, in my country many retired government workers are abandoned by the government, left to survive on their own and some.of these old men and women have no relatives that can take care of them, only this that have children that are successful and rich are in good care.

If I have to advise anyone who is older and also a government worker, I will tell them not to rely on the government work, when they are getting closer to their retirement, they should be able to find something else to do with the money they made from the government's job, they should be able to deposit money into another new business that will help them as they get more older.
1200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin IS an asset. Do you think it's bad? on: May 15, 2023, 02:21:44 PM
It's the best asset out there that's worth your money, I will ditch Gold for Bitcoin any time any day and even if I have Gold right now I will sell the Gold and buy Bitcoin instead, I believe that OP is just confused, because Bitcoin can be used as a means of payment and also as a distance between the banking system and your money, Bitcoin is decentralized and with decentralization comes freedom, how can one not embrace the two? One utility isn't affecting the other.
